Authorize plugin notify, on connection timeout + remote function execution

When a client application stops the stream I normally get an
E_STOP notify. But if a client dies due to network outage or the
client computer dies (or something other unforseen that doesnt give
a FIN/RST on the TCP connection), then it seems there is no way to
get a notification about this..
Or have I missed something?
If not, that is a big feature request for us, and probably
other people developing pay-per-view-stuff..
Also, is there some way to catch remote executions? Ie if my
client calls a function on my SSAS, can I catch that invocation in
my authorize module somehow? (Or in some other way get trigger some
code in my plugin, when a client calls a function)
Is there somewhere on the adobe site one can submit feature
requests to FMIS?
Thanks!

Hi, thanks for your answer!
Yes, that would be one solution that I've thought of.. But
then the question is how to interconnect SSAS/remote events with
the authorization plugin..
The only thing i've found is the addNotifyAction on
IFmsAuthEvent that allows me to call a a SSAS function from my
plugin (when I process an actual event). But not the other way
arround (dispatching an authorize/notify event in my plugin, from
SSAS) as far as I've seen...
I guess if I implement the server pinging feature, and do a
disconnect, i should get a E_DISCONNECT that I can use, so that
might be a (very ugly) solution.
Okay so I tried that now, with the following code:
application.onAppStart = function()
setInterval(application.pingAll, 30000);
Client.prototype.onStatus = function(info)
trace("client "+this.id+ "/"+this.ip+" onStatus with
"+info.code+", "+ info.level +": " +info.details);
Client.prototype.onResult = function(info)
trace("client "+this.id+ "/"+this.ip+" onResult with
"+info);
application.pingAll = function()
trace("Pinging "+application.clients.length+" clients");
for (i = 0; i < application.clients.length; i++)
var c = application.clients[ i ];
var r = c.call("ping", c);
trace("Pinging " + c.id + "/"+c.ip+ ", result "+r);
The result of this was, when pinging a client that was alive
I got "NetConnection.Call.Failed" immediately, but that was
expected since I haven't implement the ping function in my client.
So far so good.. Then I started another connection/stream on a
laptop, and pulled the plug.. A while later it tried to ping.. No
call to onStatus nor onResult.. waited a bit, after 5 minutes still
no call to onResult??.. return value from c.call was always true,
but after around 6-7 minutes, it started to return false instead.
But no call to onResult..
To me this seems like a bug? Or do I have to enable timeouts
or something?
I do have <AutoCloseIdleClients enable="true"> (with
60s check interval and 300 max idle) in my config, but still it
seems that the client object is alive in application.clients way
longer than 5 minutes..
Seems Adobe got a few quirks to sort out?
Thanks for any help or input!

  • Oracle 9.0.1 on Solaris/SPARC infinite connection timeouts

    Hello, All!
    I have the following system configuration:
    Solaris 5.9 Maintenance Update 4;
    Sun Ultra 10, 1 UltraSPARC IIi 440Mhz CPU, 1024M RAM;
    Oracle 9.0.1 (9i Release 1).
    The database was created with JServer option turned on (we're using the integrated CORBA functionality); archive log mode is OFF, database cache advice is ON.
    In a nutshell,
    ==============
    the problem is in really infinite connection timeouts of Oracle after a long time of inactivity (say, on Monday after two weekend days).
    Long description.
    =================
    Client-side symptoms.
    First, I tried to establish a connection to a published CORBA object, and received no response (I am already waiting for 1 hour 40 minutes).
    Then, I tried to connect to the database with SQLPlus, remotely:
    $ sqlplus /nolog
    SQL> CONNECT SYS/change_on_install@ORCL AS SYSDBA;
    All the same, I receive no reply. However, the listener is alive, I can establish a network connection to both ports 1521 and 2481. Client-side logs (specified via sqlnet.ora) say the following:

    ps -e -o "user,pid,pcpu,pmem,rss,vsz,args" says there're several (3) processes running as oracle, with "args" oracle_ORCL, which eat up nearly all available memory (they have "pmem" values of 25, 25 and 17 per cent, respectively). One of these processes has "pcpu" value varying from 97% to 100%, moreover, this is a user, NOT system time (according to sdtperfmeter, disk/page/swap activity is extremely low; system load holds at value of 4). Here is a sample vmstat output:
         cpu
    cs us sy id
    287 99 1 0
    285 100 0 0
    280 100 0 0

    270 100 0 0
    307 98 2 0
    287 100 0 0
    Here cs is the number of cpu context switches per second;
    us is cpu user time;
    sy is cpu system time.
    The question is: what oracle may be doing and how can I fix the problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Now, 3 hours later, the first two (of three) connections got established, but subsequent database queries are in the same nearly dead state.
    CPU usage remains about 100%, system load 4.
    I know that oracle restart (and/or system restart) will cure the problem -- but only until next weekend.
    Can this be oracle misconfiguration?

  • Applet connection to remote MySql - HELP

    Hi:
    I've got an applet that connects to a MySql database (4.1).
    As long as I try to connect to the MySql server on the machine the applet is running on (my development computer), everything works great.
    I'm using this jar as the MySql connector:
    mysql-connector-java-5.0.3-bin.jar
    I can connect to the remote MySql server (also 4.1) with MySql Administrator and also with .NET, no problem.
    BUT - when I try to connect to the remote MySql server from the Applet I get an 'access denied' error.
    I also tried it from the applet set up as a Java application with a main function. If I try to connect to the local MySql server, no problem. If I try to connect to the remote machine I get a 'connection timeout' error.
    I should add that when I connect to the remote machine from MySql Administrator, the connection is almost instantaneous and with no problem.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Well, I've been over it and over it. I've read and tried everything I could find.
    No matter what I do it won't connect.
    The applet is signed, I don't need to learn how to do that.
    The popup comes up and asks if I want to run it: I click YES
    The connection works fine for the local database but not the remote one.
    Again, I can connect to the remote one with MySql Admin just fine using the same parameters.

    Hi Nilesh Taunk,
    You can go through the following steps
    -o JCO Exceptions 1. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/f6/daea401675752ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    -o JCO Exceptions 2. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f6/e002416225f023e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    -o Restart of the J2EE instance and try re-importing the RFC model. Sometimes it helps.
    -o Logon into WebDynpro Content Administrator as a J2EE Admin and check if the JCO Connections and User /pwd of your application is correct. You can <b>ping </b>or <b>test your JCO connections</b>. if something is wrong, enter the values again for JCO n retest them.
    -o Try undeploying or removing the complete application and redeploy it.
    Tu undeploy please go to
    Go to <b>Visual Admin -> Server -> Services -> Deploy ->
    </b>
    Under Runtime Tab
    select the server, open the tree , you would find the webdypro list there.
    Now select an application, first stop it, remove it and redeploy if necessary.
    Let us know if you could solve the problem or not, gud luck!

  • How to debug a remote function module in calling system? Help!

    Hi Experts,
       I have a ABAP report (in System A) from where I am calling a remote function module which exists in a different system B.
    ABAP Program(System A)<----calls--
    RFC(System B)
    Can I debug the RFC funnction module in system A using ABAP debugger? In other words if i put a breakpoint on the "call function" statement then in debug mode I want to see that the control is going to system B and I should be able to process the FM code line by line. Is this possible?
    Is there any special transaction or settings?
    Is there any alternative?
    Please help
    Thanks
    Gopal

    hello,
    Try this method.
    first check whether RFC connection is working b/w 2 systems.
    if connection is working, then do like this.
    In System B , put endless loop in FM before some main select statement.
    like
    DATA : v_a TYPE c VALUE space
    DO  .
       IF v_a = 'X'.
         EXIT.
       ENDIF.
    ENDDO.
    the above code will be endleep loop.
    In system A, when cursor goes to CALL FUNCTION DESTINATION 'XXXXX'.
    u shud be logged in system B. the moment control comes to system B.goto tcode SM50 . check ur username . choose that particular  checkbox then in menu bar --> program/session --> Program --> Debugging.
    i hope it will help u.
    try & let us know.
    Thanks,

  • Can't connect via Airport -- "connection timeout" error, instead

    I've got a MacBook Pro here, which was successfully connected online via Airport, under OS X 10.4.11.
    Then I upgraded to Leopard (10.5), and the machine would no longer connect automatically to the router.
    OK, I tried manually configuring the wireless connection, but no luck. So, I brought in an old iBook G4 running the same OS (10.5), and successfully linked it to the router, wirelessly, via Airport.
    Copying the procedure that worked with the iBook -- to the MBPro -- did not help. Still getting a "connection timeout" error message.
    So I performed a fresh install of 10.5 -- and I even DLed the Software Updates, including two that were supposed to improve Airport functionality -- and tried again. No luck.
    Any suggestions?
    TIA.

    John,
    I had the same problem when I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard in January. My memory is already rusty but try the following:
    1. Go to System Preferences > Network pane. On the left pane, click on AirPort. In the right pane lower right, click Advanced button. Then on the AirPort tab, click on the name of your network and then the minus sign to remove it from the list.
    2. Click Apply and quit System Preferences.
    3. Put the computer to sleep.
    4. Wake the computer.
    5. Go back in to Network preferences, AirPort tab. Click the plus sign to add your network. Fill in the Network Name, choose the type of Security by clicking on the pop-down bar, enter password/code/phrase and click Add. NOTE: Do not connect to the network at this time.
    6. Click Apply and Quit the Network Preferences.
    7. On the Menu row, click the Airport icon and select your network. (IF your network does not show, choose Join Other Network. Fill in the Network Name, choose the type of Security by clicking on the pop-down bar, enter password/code/phrase and click Join.)
    8. Verify connectivity
    9. Put the computer to sleep.
    10. Wake the computer.
    11. Verify connectivity

  • Connecting to remote R/3 system

    Hello everyone!
    I need information about connecting to remote R/3 systems. What I am looking for is something like what SAP does to trouble shoot client R/3 systems.
    I have heard that SAP connects remotely to the SAP R/3 system using the SAP Connector to help rectify problems in the remote system. Is something possible for me to use for a client's remote R/3 system? We are also an SAP Software Partner (PBNW) so in case any SAP guy is looking at this, can you please tell me what we can do?
    The rough requirement is to have a remote connection to the client's SAP R/3 system in order to be able to extract particular configuration data and such among other things. We have our own software for the extraction but we need special connectors to connect to remote systems. Is the SAP Connector a valid solution in this case?
    Thanks for looking into it!
    Sameer

    If you want a thorough analysis of your system you can set up a Remote Service connection. To avoid any unauthorized access to your system, you first need to a open a connection for Remote Service. Only then can SAP log on to your system.
    For more detailed information on setting up a Remote Service connection, see the guide The SAPNet - R/3 Frontend User Guide. You can download this guide from the following address: http://sapnet.sap.com/oss-guide .
    Ready-to-Run R/3 contains a service and equipment package for setting up a remote service functionality between your R/3 Systems and the SAP service organization. The package contains hardware and software for routing and the organizational services required for setting up a remote service connection.
    If you have problems using your R/3 System, or you require help, you can use SAP remote services. The TCP/IP connection between your systems and SAP is controlled by the router in the remote access package. One of the main functions of the router in setting up a remote service connection is the translation of private addresses (as defined in RFC 1918) to official external IP addresses, which are delivered with your remote access package.

  • Connection to Remote Desktop is keep dropping

    Hello everybody,
    I use my laptop to remote in to my office work station. So, what I do is I go through a portal, which authenticates me to login to my office work station. When I start working on it, my remote connection drops for every 3 (approx)  minutes.
    But the actual laptop wont loose WIFI connection.
    As an example, If I am listening to Pandora on my laptop and connects to my office work station through a portal, I just looses my connection to portal and automatically it reconnects in in first of its 20 retries.  But laptop never stops playing Pandora
    music, so It never looses WIFI connection, for some reason it just drops the remote connection.
    Laptop: Dell Inspiron 13Z
    I never had this problem with my other DELL latitude laptop which runs Windows 7. It never drops connection to remote desktop.  I am not sure whether it is IE 11 bug or Windows 8.1 bug or this crappy DELL inspiron 13 Z bug.
    What I did so far.
    Changed the adapter settings to never save power. Changed settings to never sleeps, hibernate.
    Any help is truly appreciated. With out that remote in functionality this laptop is literally a brick.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    Have you setup the printer redirect in RDP?
    If so, please uncheck it for testing this issue.
    Meanwhile, if this issue happened while using wireless connections, try to connect to internet via cable to see what’s going on.
    For further research, please upload the event log related to your RDP here.
    Look forward to your response.

  • Web Services Connection Timeout

    Hello All,
    I have a web services client that runs in Tomcat. When making a web service call, I am getting the following exception:
    HTTP transport error: java.net.ConnectException: A remote host did not respond within the timeout period.
         at com.sun.xml.rpc.client.http.HttpClientTransport.invoke(HttpClientTransport.java:87)
         at com.sun.xml.rpc.client.StreamingSender._send(StreamingSender.java:71)
    Initially, I thought this was a tomcat problem and just to prove that it was, I added code to make a HTTPS connection to the server that is running the web service. I am able to connect and download the WSDL through the client code running on Tomcat. So this seems to be a web services client problem rather than a tomcat problem. I am using the following:
    JDK = 1.3.1
    OS = IBM AIX 5.2
    Tomcat = 4.1.27
    Web Services = 1.1
    JAX RPC = 1.0.3
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jeba

    I am able to make HTTPS connection from the Tomcat. If is the connection time out, would that affect the straight HTTPS call also. Also this seems to work on a Windows box. The connection timeout is being received on AIX only and I am able to make HTTPS connection from within tomcat. The web service call using HTTPS is getting the connection time out error message.

    Hi Sunil,
    If you are using this particular cProjects URL for the first time, you should generate the screens using SGEN transaction. Select Web Dynpro for ABAP and give the cProjects application.
    Having done SGEN, the page wouldnt take long to open up.
    To increase the connection timeout, pl contact your basis guy.

    Reema.

  • SQL2012: Internal Error: The operation terminated unsuccessfully. The connection timeout was exceeded. Server: The operation has been cancelled

    When rendering a SSRS native mode report based on a query to SSAS the report with fail with the following error:
    An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)  Cannot read the next data row for the dataset. (rsErrorReadingNextDataRow).  The connection either timed out or was lost.  Unable to read data from the transport connection:
    An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
    Putting a trace on the SSAS instance, I get an error:
    Internal error: The operation terminated unsuccessfully.  The connection timeout was exceeded. Server: The operation has been cancelled.
    I've modified the IIS (6) application pool timeouts, the SSRS rsreportserver.config timeouts, and the SSAS timeouts.  Restarted services, rebooted, and still I get this error.
    The report will render if I select a shorter time period (less data, shorter query time).
    Running SQL2012 (11.0.5058.0), SSAS and SSRS on separate servers, same subnet.
    Any help or suggested troubleshooting greatly appreciated.

    first u( user id ) have to get the Authorizations to use RFC ?
    object will be  like S_RFC or some thing like this.
