Auto attach jpg files to image fields

I create a form with multi text fields and multi image fields in LiveCycle Designer. Each text field will be filled with image path name. Is it possible to write a routine in form to automatically attach each image file name speicifed in text field into respective image field. This function should be automattically activated when opening PDF.
It will be appreciated if someone has similar codes can be shared.
Thanks
Jackson

Hi,
The short answer is no (afaik). As far as I can see referencing an external image file is a security concern. See this example here: http://assure.ly/mcFrC6 (in particular page 3).
Hope that helps,
Niall

  • Can't attach .jpg files to my e-mail messages

I have tried to attach .jpg files to my e-mail messages but nothing happens. I have no trouble attaching .doc files. I have never had this problem before buying this MacBook a few weeks ago, and I can't figure out what to do about it. Does anyone know how to rectify this? Thanks.

I have tried to attach it by clicking on "browse," finding the correct .jpg file and then clicking on "add." The .jpg never is added to the message. I never had trouble with adding .jpgs this way on my old iBook and I don't have trouble adding .jpgs on my G-5 at work. As I said, I can add .doc Word documents on the new MacBook, so I really don't understand what the problem is. The .jpgs files are about 1 MB in size, so it's not like I'm trying to add a gigantic file.

    Hi Naill,
First I have to say thankyou for your answer.
About my (1) question, My image fields have set to be a embedded data and I try to test many example script of image fields.I can get image content type, image size. But that not work when I used ImageField1.desc.embeddedHref.value. It's response as "Unknown Embedded URI". Therefore, image field is and embedded data. How can I access filename?
    (2) In that forum. As I see, his problem is about how to automate change image field with href image file. But I want to extract an exist embedded image in PDF form to normal image file with original metada (such as extract image filed to .JPEG with GPS data. Same as before attached in PDF form.). There has any concept or solution in this problem?

  • Attaching JPG files

I've searched but I am not finding the answer. How do I send an attached JPG or other pic file without the image itself being embedded or visible in the body of the email? This should be easy, but I am embarrased to say I cannot find out how to do this. I do this all the time on my work PC.

    Jim,
You need not be embarrassed. However, what you are concerned about, is a needless (useless) concern, if the JPEG (or other photo files) are being attached, by normal means. What appears as embedding to you, is not, but rather is only what is called View in Place, and only applies to how you see the message.
Whether the recipients sees the photos with View in Place (or also called Inline View), is not under your control. It is totally under the control of the recipient's email program -- some, such as Thunderbird, have a preference as to whether to permit View Inline, but again this is not under the control of the Sender.
For best result, place all attachments AFTER any text, and do no typing after they are attached. Also, for some Windows email clients, such as Outlook Express and Outlook, it is probably best to send using Plain Text and not Rich Text. With all attachments following text, this will mesh best with all types of email clients used by the recipients. In certain situation, RTF, together with mixed fonts and attachments, is converted to HTML, and the recipient may see the attachments as "embedded", whether they are in the strictest sense, or not. but this is limited only to certain email programs, as noted above.
Ask any questions, or provide any additional info that may be useful.

  • HT2493 I have a jpg file the image of which I wish to use as an icon for a program.

when I use the advised strategy of copying its icon to the icon in the info page of the program, I get a change -- but to the generic icon for jpg files, rather than the actual image of the content of the particular file.

You can convert the jpeg file to an icon file and use that as the image, with this application: img2icns
Drag the jpg onto img2icns window, save it as an icon. Copy and paste this as per the method you mentioned previously.
    tested to work on 10.6.8

  • JPG files attached to mails - can't open directly

I use webmail applications (not directly 'Mail' from Mac OS) and when image JPG files are attached, and click on them to open them, the computer considers them as 'binary file' and only allows to save to disk - then, on the disk, Mac opens them with single-click with 'Preview' ('Vista Previa' in Spanish Mac OS); why can't I open them directly on the web application? Is there anything I can do (seting) to see the images with a single-click fro the atach icons?

Are these JPG files you receive via email coming only from one user, or any user?
The JPG file email attachment is opened on the BlackBerry using the BlackBerry Attachment Service. It is a core part of your operating system.
First off, try this:  With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Now attempt to view an email-attached jpg file. Any luck?
If not you might want to upgrade your OS on the device.
Device operating system releases are "released" by specific carriers once they have certified and trained their support techs, but still, you are able to load to any carrier's same model by following the instructions below.
See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
    http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8500-series-discussion-gemini/227461-latest-os-8520-5-0-0-11...
Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

When I attach a JPG file in my email message and send it to a Windows friend they get the message "The file type being saved or retrieved has been blocked when they try to open it so that they can save it." Anyone know why and how to fix this problem?

Your Windows friend should ask in a Windows forum why his email client won't open attached jpg files. We have no idea what email client he is using or how his Windows security is configured.

  • Error displaying a jpg file loaded into a table with blob field

This may not be the correct forum for this question, but if it isn't could someone direct me to the correct one.
I have created a table with a blob field in which I have loaded a jpg image. This appeared to work correctly, but when I try to display the image in internet explorer it comes back and tells me that it doesn't recognize the file type. Enclosed is the table create, load, and display pl/sql code. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks. For the mime/header I used owa_util.mime_header('images/jpg') because my image is a jpg file.
    The database is 10g

Just a little more information. When I enter owa_util.mime_header('image/jpeg') I can't display the file. It just shows up with a red x for the file.

This is the way I would expect it to look if I opened it with Notepad, or an application that doesn't recognize jpg files. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?? Thanks.

that is the message how do i correct this problem

It sounds like your file associations are messed up and Reader is trying to open your .jpg files. Is this correct?
If so, you just need to change the associations to choose what application opens them. Here's how: Change File Associations in Mac OS X

  • No longer able to attach .jpg images in Mail...

I'm having problems attaching .jpg images in Mail. This problem started two or three days ago. I can attach .zip files, but I'm unable to attach .pdf or .jpg files. I have not tried other formats, as these are the two most common formats used.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Cheers. -m

There was a discussion posted on this a while back:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1545970&start=0&tstart=0
I get this problem on my PPC, but not my Intel machine. Instead of using Server Admin, best to set this value (maxAttachmentSize) in the /etc/wikid/wikid.conf file. The value in Server Admin will still show '0', but I was still able to attach files up to the size I specified in the wikid.conf file.

  • I can't open a jpg file directly from an Outlook email attachment into Photoshop CC.

When I try to open a jpg file directly from an Outlook email attachment into Photoshop CC I get this error message " Photyoshop CC.exe - Entry Point not found" with this string:

I don't think I have ever been able to open an image directly from Outlook into Photoshop.  What you can do, is drag from outlook to desktop, and then from desktop into Photoshop.  Or, if seeing the windows at the same time is a problem, drag onto desktop, then minimise everything, and drag onto the Photoshop icon (if you have a Photoshop shortcut on your desktop).

  • Poor image quality for uncompressed .jpg files

    Hello,
I am importing in uncompressed .jpg files that I have made
smaller in Photoshop, but didn't modify compression. This is the
original format at they are stock photos. My project preferences
for jpg files are set to 100. When I import them and publish my
project, the image quality is sub- standard where areas of the
    picture are blurry and fadded.
Since the images started as jpg files, recompressing them or
saving them as bmp files which Captivate likes, is not an option.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Rick,
I didn't notice the slide property dialog that is set to
default to Standard. This should help. thanks.
By the way, I am still having major problems with the issue I
emailed you directly last week with all the attachment files. I
know you are busy, but if you have time to revisit, I'd appreciate
it. I don' t have a solution and need to deliver next week.

  • Problem Opening image/jpg File

When I open a jpg file to edit, the photo has large blocks of the image that are replicated and overlap other parts of the image (see attached). Running on new Lenovo T500 laptop, so display drivers and system reqs are fine. Some small files (<150K) will open, but nothing from a digital camera. Any ideas on how to correct?

What version of Photoshop Elements are you using? What is your system's harware configuration ?
