How i can create export.bat alternative for linux plateform (redhat 4.7) 'exp' in oracle linux is equivalent to 'exp.exe' in windows +(but for both you should normally be using datadump expdp)+
userid is best placed in a .par file for security reasons. .... having password on command line is not good.
How i can creat dump..zip file on linux redhat4.7zip dump unzipedfile
man zip tells you more.
How I can access linux folder /oradisk/backup from windows operting system.samba, ftp, sftp ...
How i can access linux drives on windows operting system.
samba, ftp, sftp....
In general for occasional use a client such as coreftp is useful (check licensing); filezilla is also possible.
Setting up the linux to share folder using samba is perhaps a longer term solution but requires more expertise to set up and requires managment. Poor setups could compromise security.
Could also be done via apache web server, again one step away from compromised security.
Thanks in Advance

    ResultSets based on a wildcard are generally treated as views by Oracle, meaning they are not updatable no matter how you create your statement. Try either "select swa.* from sw_assets swa" or "select all from sw_assets swa", that should get around the problem.
    Also (just being thorough) make sure that you specifically created your statement as being updatable (stmt = conn.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE) ).
    I would not normally expect a NullPointerException when encountering this "feature", but then I don't often use the ODBC bridge.
    Good luck! I hope this helps.

    Edited by: user3523292 on Nov 14, 2008 5:43 AMThis is a forum of volunteers. There is no "urgent" here. Nevertheless, a google search of 'xml oracle export' quickly lead me to this Oracle site:

    I also see lots of hits when I search the documentation library at tahiti.oracle.com for 'xml'. This one in particular may be what you are looking for:

  • Problems accessing tables in oracle database with ejb entity bean

    I have created a simple server application that uses an entity bean (version 2.0) for an existing table in oracle database, and a session bean that is used as an outside interface for performing operations on that table.
    after deploying the server and client application the client attempts to perform an operation with the session bean remote interface it obtained.
    The session bean uses a locale interface to communicate with the entity bean, but when it tries to use its methods (create, findByXXX) it always get the following Exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist.
    the table of course exists, and the username password I'm using has all the permissions needed for this table.
    note - I'm using the Forte enterprise edition 4.0 as developer tool.
    I'll be glad to get some help.

    Well it seems like the problems has a simple explanation. The Forte assigns a default table name (<entityName>EJBTable) when creating an entity bean from an existsing table in DB (which is not the same as the one it was created from !!!). Also, for reason unknown, when you deploy these entity beans, it doesn't even create the new table under its new name (even if instructed to).
    So using the Forte we managed to use successfuly only entity beans that were created "from scretch" (when deployed their tables are created).
    Does anyone know how to change the default name the Forte uses, and make it work properly with entity beans created from an existsing table (without going over the xml's) ?

  • Problems with connection with Oracle Database (Dreamweaver)

    I'm trying to create a connection with a oracle database, with JDBC.
    In order to do that, I've downloaded the classes12.zip driver in my machine. This is the driver from Oracle.
    I've put this file into directory c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\JDBCDrivers.
    So, I've gone to Window -> Application -> Databases menu into Dreamweaver MX, clicked in the plus (+) signal and choosed Oracle thin Driver (Oracle).
    I've filled thin window with the following values:
    Connection name: conn1
    Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@machinename:1521:SID
    Username: ....
    Password: ...
    When I click in the Test button into this window, the following success message appears:
    Connection was made successfully!
    But when I go to Bindings window to build a Recordset, the connection doesn't get the tables, and the following error message appears:
    Unable to retrieve tables from this connection, click on 'Define...' button to test this connection.
    Does somebody know the answer for this problem?
    Thank you.

    Don't bother with a loopback adapter unless you are using a laptop that needs Oracle to work whether connected or unconnected to the business network. Much simpler to just arrange for DHCP to assign you a fixed IP address (a lease reservation).
    It's the change of IP address which trips Oracle up, not the existence of DHCP. So if you can make sure your IP address will be the same, no matter how you acquire it, that's all you have to do.
    Installing a loopback adapter which isn't the primary interface at the point you install Oracle will mean your installation will get very confused as to whether to address things via the 127... address or the "normal" IP address. And yes, at that point, you'll not be able to connect to instances, or run listeners or do all sorts of other things reliably.
    If it were me, I'd uninstall the mess you probably now have as far as Oracle goes, install something like VirtualBox (free) or VMware Workstation (costs) and enjoy your Oracle experience inside the confines of a virtual machine whose networking setup you can configure and control to your heart's content, without it screwing up your real machine's ability to connect to your work's network when it needs to.

  • Auto Increment ID Field Table in the Oracle Database (insert new record)

    I have been using the MySQL. And the ID field of the database table is AUTO INCREMENT. When I insert a new record into a database table, I can have a statement like:
       public void createThread( String receiver, String sender, String title,
                                 String lastPostMemberName, String threadTopic,
                                 String threadBody, Timestamp threadCreationDate,
                                 Timestamp threadLastPostDate, int threadType,
                                 int threadOption, int threadStatus, int threadViewCount,
                                 int threadReplyCount, int threadDuration )
                                 throws MessageDAOSysExceptionand I do not have to put the ID variable in the above method. The table will give the new record an ID number that is equivalent to the ID number of the last record plus one automatically.
    Now, I am inserting a new record into an Oracle database table. I am told that I cannot do what I am used to doing with the MySQL database.
    How do I revise the createThread method while I have no idea about what the next sequence number shall be?

    I am still very confused; in particular, the Java part. Let me try again.
    // This part is for the database table creation
    -- Component primary key sequence
    CREATE SEQUENCE dhsinfo_page_content_seq
        START WITH 0;
    -- Trigger for updating the Component primary key
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER DHSInfoPageContent_INSERT_TRIGGER
        BEFORE INSERT ON DHSInfoPageContent //DHSInfoPageContent is the table name
        FOR EACH ROW WHEN (new.ID IS NULL) // ID is the column name for auto increment
        BEGIN
            SELECT dhsinfo_page_content_seq.Nextval
            INTO :ID
            FROM DUAL;
        END;/I am uncertain what to do with my Java code. (I have been working with the MySQL. Changing to the Oracle makes me very confused.
       public void updateContent( int groupID, String pageName, int componentID,
                                  String content, Timestamp contentCreationDate )
                                   throws contentDAOSysException
       // The above Java statement does not have a value to insert into the ID column
       // in the DHSInfoPageContent table
          Connection conn = null;
          PreparedStatement stmt = null;
          // what to do with the INSERT INTO below.  Note the paramether ID.
          String insertSQL = "INSERT INTO DHSInfoPageContent( ID, GroupID, Name, ComponentID, Content, CreationDate ) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?)";
          try
             conn = DBConnection.getDBConnection();
             stmt = conn.prepareStatement( insertSQL );
             stmt.setInt( 1, id ); // Is this Java statement redundant?
             stmt.setInt( 2, groupID );
             stmt.setString( 3, pageName );
             stmt.setInt( 4, componentID );
             stmt.setString( 5, content );
             stmt.setTimestamp( 6, contentCreationDate );
             stmt.executeUpdate();
           catch

  • Problem reading data from oracle database 11g using OleDbDataReader

    Hi everyone I work with Visual Studio 2010 and C# programming language. I have a problem reading data from the oracle database. I created a WPF application with my main Window Xaml and class files and 1 more class called DataFiles. The thing I want is to read some data from the database on my grid in my WPF window. Problem is even though it connects to the database the grid is always empty. It isn't the connection string as I tested it and it connects to the database the problem seems to be in showing the LASTNAME (PREZIME in my native tongue) on the grid which is what it's supposed to do.
    Here is the code:
    Data Files Code
    using System;
    using System.Collections.ObjectModel;
    using System.Data.SqlClient;
    using System.Data.OleDb;

    Hope u guys can help, thanks.

    I tried it, commented out the reader.read and have the following connection string
    string connectionString = "provider=ORAOLEDB.ORACLE; data source=ORCL; password=****; user id=****; OLEDB.NET=True"
    Unfortunately the result is the same.

  • Problem with httpd and oracle database

    hi
    i have oracle linux with oracle database 11gR2
    i install php with oci as the following link :
    http://oss.oracle.com/projects/php/dist/documentation/installation.html
    but when i try phpinfo() i found just only
    *" /etc/php.d/oci8.ini"* in the result
    and when i test connection i have this error
    *" Fatal error: Call to undefined function oci_connect() "*
    so what is the best way to install oci on oracle linux ?

    What version of the OS are you using? Any clues in the syslog and httpd log? Are you using SELinux, which is often an overlooked issue?
    Can you provide more details?

  • Problem in connecting Non Oracle Database from Oracle

    Hi:
    I want to access "MS ACCESS" from Oracle 10g (10.2.0.1) using Windows XP.
    I tried my best, applied all proper instructions I found from books and from Internet, but getting an error.
    Here is what I did:
    My Oracle database is called "ORCL" and "MS ACCESS" is called "access_1".
    There is only one table "Employees" in "access_1".
    1. Accessed ODBC from Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools.
    2. Clicked on Users DSN | "access_1" | Add.
    3. Clicked on "Drive do Microsoft Access (*.MDB)" .
    4. Hit Finish.
    5. Entered at DATA SOURCE NAME "ODBC1" and at DESCRIPTION "Connect Oracle to MS Access". Also I clicked on SELECT and chose the "Access_1.mdb" which is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\Muhammad\My Documents" folder. Clicked OK. and clicked on OK again.
    6. Now I went to Oracle side and configured listener as follows: (Only portion is shown here)
    # listener.ora Network Configuration File: C:\oracle\product\orcl\network\admin\listener.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
    (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\orcl)
    (PROGRAM = extproc)
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = hsodbc)
    (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\orcl)
    (PROGRAM = hsodbc)
    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = RIYAZDESKTOP)(PORT = 1521))
    7. Configuring the hs file located at C:\oracle\Product\Orcl\hs|admin as follows:
    # HS init parameters
    # HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = <odbc data_source_name>
    # HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = <trace_level>
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = odbc1
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = OFF
    # Environment variables required for the non-Oracle system
    #set <envvar>=<value>
    8. The TNSNAMES.ORA File is located at C:\:\oracle\product\orcl\network\admin\ and has the following text (only the related text is shown here):
    # tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: C:\oracle\product\orcl\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools
    access_db.world =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (Address = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = RIYAZDESKTOP) (PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = hsodbc))
    (HS=OK)
    9. The database link is created as follows:
    SQL> create database link access_db USING 'access_db.world';
    Database link created.
    SQL>
    10. Now the test and selection:
    SQL> select * from employees@access_db;
    select * from employees@access_db
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-28545: error diagnosed by Net8 when connecting to an agent
    Unable to retrieve text of NETWORK/NCR message 65535
    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from ACCESS_DB
    OH! I HAVE TO RELOAD THE LISTENER AND I DID IT HERE.

    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=EXTPROC1)))
    The command completed successfully
    C:\oracle\product\orcl\BIN>
    SQL> select table_name from all_tables@access_db;
    select table_name from all_tables@access_db
    ERROR at line 1:

    I HAVE DONE IT EXACTLY WHAT YOU PROVIDED ME BUT GOT THE SAME RESULT.
    ANY SOLUTION!
    THANKS.

  • Emailing through oracle database

    I am using oracle database 8i ,application server 9i.
    What software/infrastructure I needed to send email to my consumers
    in database regarding their electricity Bill.
    Is it oracle email server?

    Which point release of 8i? UTL_SMTPwas introduced in 8.1.6. This will allow you to send e-mail via PL/SQL.
    You need an SMTP server somewhere on the network that is visible to the database server; if you don't know the url of this server you will have to ask your network administrator. However, if you're lucky you should find that 127.0.0.1 (localhost) does the trick.

  • Driver problem to connect the oracle database

    sir
    i want to use oracle 8.0 database at the backend in my project

    so i access that it is achive when i am not use the odbc driver
    In xp the oracle not connect with my application
    and in win98 some time it is connected to the application by
    the odbc driver.
    can it is possible that i use oracle database with out use of ODBC bridge in all Microsoft opertaing system types that is win 98,2000,XP
    and NT
    if yes how please help me and where i found the driver for oracle
    with no price.
    also how can i made the connection with my application.
    thanks in advance

    First:
    post this in the approriate forum. This is for Swing questions, not for database driver questions. You have more luck in the JDBC forum, but still this isn't really a Java/JDBC question.
    Second:
    try to use the search before posting a question. Questions regarding the ODBC bridge are posted about 5 times a day (in the JDBC forum)!
    Third:
    to answer your question: download the Type 4 JDBC driver from otn.oracle.com. You can use it with every JDK on every platform.
