Auto fill in Safari adding a space to my email address

When I use AutoFill in Safari now it puts an extra space in front of my email address. I have checked several times in my address book, and my email address is entered correctly. I have retyped my email address and this doesn't fix it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bryan

I checked in the other areas in AutoFill in Safari Preferences, but there didn't seem to be anything there that could cause this. I really would like to get this fixed. What about throwing away my Safari preferences?

  • Deleted auto fill Facebook/Safari keeps returning. (invalid login, dunno how it got there)

On my macbook air, Facebook/Safari there is an invalid login in the auto fill. When i delete via safari/preferences/passwords it disappears but after a while it re appears. Valid accounts can be deleted successfully but the invalid one just keeps coming back.

Perhaps a long shot. Check Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access/Passwords and see if it is there.

  • Adding Mail's 'previous recipients' email addresses to Address Book

I dumped all of the 'previous recipients' email addresses to Address Book today, but when I looked in Address Book they were all poorly organized, and there were many I did not want in there, so in order to save time (I thought) I deleted them, with the intent to go back to Mail and only add the ones I wanted, and in small batches so I could organize them better when I went back to Address Book. However, when I went back to the Mail application to re-add only the ones I wanted, I saw that the 'Add to Address Book' button is whited out. It appears that since I already added them to the Address Book, even though I subsequently delted them, Mail still thinks that they have entries in the Address Book. There appears to be no way to re-set them. I have looked all over through all of the help information for both Address Book and Mail and have found no way to overcome this problem. Any insights would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Brendan

Try Mail Scripts. I think the Add Addresses script will do what you want.

  • Everytime I fill out the auto fill section and say ok, it lists my past address, how or where do I go to update this information?

Using the autofill, when appropriate is a great tool, unfortuanately I have neglected to change my address and have gone to System Preferences in an attempt to find out the link or clue as to where I should go.  Any suggestions?
I know you all out their have always been great to me and I want to express my Thanks so here it goes,
    THANKS
    YOU ARE APPRECIATED

Thank you for answering my questions so quickly, before I used your input I changed my info in my address book, by editing it, then going to Safari>Preferences>Autofill>Autofill web forms: Using infor from my Address Book card.
I haven't seen if this works but tried finding Launch the Address Book in HD>Applications, and could not locate it. I would think after using this Mac for so long I would be able to follow your instructions.
Do you see any problems using the mehtod I used, in the first part of this leter?
    Thank you,

  • Safari Auto Fill Stopped working

The auto fill in Safari 4 has stopped working. It used to be when I went to, say, eBay, my name and password would automatically be there. Now, the spaces are blank. But, when I type in the first letter of my ID, the rest of the ID and the Password appear, and function properly.
What happened to this, and why did it change, and how do I get it back to all being there right away?

    HI,
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Where you see: Usernames and Passwords, make sure that box is checked.
Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities. Select Passwords on the left.
Delete the eBay keychain on the right. Quit Keychain Access. Launch Safari if it isn't running. Navigate to eBay and login. When prompted, click: Always Allow.
Since you are running Snow Leopard, *make sure Safari is opening in 32-bit mode, not 64.* Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) *make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.*

    Any help please...

There are many options in Settings > Safari > Passwords & AutoFill:
    Use Contact Info = "On"
    My Info = [you]
    Names and Passwords = "On"

After enabling Auto Fill (Settings>Safari), Safari will ask you about remembering User ID and Password Data as your enter it for the first time. After that it will Auto Fill for you.

  • Deleting auto fill doesn't work

I've tried resetting safari settings and editing the auto fill in safari preferences, but some of my user names and passwords refuse to delete. I've tried "removing all" but about 20 usernames/passwords cannot be deleted. Why is this and how can it be solved?
    Thanks.

It's possible that Safari preferences have been corrupted. But you can still remove the usernames and passwords by opening Keychain Access and locating them in the Passwords > Internet list there and deleting them.

  • Auto Fill does not work

I have a new iMac with Lion OSX. In Safari, I checked the box for auto fill to populate my demographic info in websites from Address Book. It does not work. Any suggestions?

I am still using Snow Leopard on my iMac. I've done all that with the address book and Safari autofill preferences. I've had it that way for years, but in recent times, it seems to be completely useless, as every time I try to autofill a web form, all I get is this error dialog:
"AutoFill completes webpage forms using information from your Address Book card or from web forms you completed previously. The information required by this form does not match any of the information available to AutoFill"
Luckily, I use 1Password3 and don't have to rely on the random usability of the Safari autofill feature, but it would be good to know just what happened to make it so useless.

  • Is 'Auto-Fill' removable?

Hello, can please someone help me. If I'm starting typing the name of a website, to be exact, after I'm typing "www." many earlier used websites are displayed in a list below. I would like to remove all this earlier web addresses and stop this function from doing so.
I tried in Preferences/Reset to clear caches, history, downloads etc. but I cannot stop it from appearing.
Also I tried to click 'Private Browsing', but its the same. I was afraid of deleting anything in my library.
I hope, someone can give me an idea. Thank you.

    Hello,
I found this in the Safari Help Viewer... maybe it will help.
    Deleting AutoFill information
If Safari is automatically filling in forms for you, you can turn off this feature and delete any information Safari has stored.
To turn off AutoFill and delete saved information:
    Choose Safari > Preferences.
    Click the AutoFill tab.
Deselect “Using info from my Address Book card” and “Other forms.”
Next to “Other forms,” click Edit. You’ll see a list of websites where you normally fill in information such as your name and email address.
Highlight individual websites and then click Remove, or click Remove All.
    Click Done.
The Edit button next to “Using info from my Address Book card” opens your address book. You probably don’t want to delete the information that’s on your Address Book card since it’s used in applications other than Safari.
