Auto mapping of Columns to custom XML tags

Hello:
I would like to build interface to my Oracle database. Instead of exposing the column names, I would like to translate them to business-savvy XML tags. Of course, I can do this by using the AS construct in my SELECT statements.
I would like to know whether there exists any advanced features in Oracle that automatically do this function.
Thank you.
Venkat

Once you the get the output in xml format from oraext:query-database function you can apply an xsl function to transform it and do the required.

  • Create custom XML tag, Flex 4.6

    hi all
    I have a question.
    I have the following tag:
    <tns:dynamic xmlns:tns="urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style">
    </tns:dynamic>
    The dynamic part should be dynamic.
    I have tried the following code;
      <tns:{actionscript.variable} xmlns:tns="urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style">
                                            </tns:{actionscript.variable}>) ;
    But i get the 1110 error; Missing XML tag name. So i do something wrong.
    Does anybody know how to solve this?
    Kind regards,

    You're not adding your filefilter as an argument of browseForOpen.
    ie: browseForOpen("Apri", filterTesto);
    But it might not make any difference:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/834035
    And from the actionscript refence:
    "Note: On Android devices, the file dialog title cannot be set. The title parameter is ignored."

  • Having a xml output with custom xml tags

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where we need to generate an xml output with a custom set of tags as given below.
    <templates>
    <list>
    <List_no></list_no>
    <List_name> </List_name>
    </List>
    </templates>
    I am not sure how to get the list part as tags within tags.
    I am able to get the output if the tag level is just one level like ,
    <templates>
    <List_no></list_no>
    <List_name> </List_name>
    </List>
    </templates>
    Does anybody know how I could get the multi-level tags. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you all.

    Hi, you can FOR XML PATH for a finer degree of control over your XML.  Use the @ symbol to create attributes.  Here's a simple example:
    DECLARE @t TABLE ( rowId INT IDENTITY PRIMARY KEY, [address] VARCHAR(50), city VARCHAR(30), floor INT, suite INT, doorType VARCHAR(20) )
    INSERT INTO @t VALUES
    ( '123 Fake St', 'Springfield', 10, 512, 'Metal' )
    SELECT
    [address] AS "Address",
    city AS City,
    [floor] AS "Location/@Floor",
    suite AS "Location/@Suite",
    doorType AS "Location/@DoorType"
    FROM @t
    FOR XML PATH ('Company'), ROOT ('Companies'), ELEMENTS;

  • Storing custom xml tags in Dreamweaver

    Hi everyone,
    I'm creating an xml file in Dreamweaver and wondered if it
    was possible to store the different tags you create within
    dreamweaver so that when you type some text, all you have to do is
    select it and have Dreamweaver wrap these custom tags around
    everything.
    Is this possible?
    Appreciate any advice

  • Object-XML Binding: How do I map from java to enumerated xml tags

    Hi. I'm new to Object-XML binding and toplink. XML that I'm trying to model in a schema has enumerated elements, e.g. </module_0></module_1><module_n> instead of many </module> elements. To simplify the schema I've opted to use </module> anyway with unbounded cardinality and imported this into a new project.
    What I would like to know is if I can use Toplink to map the java object back to the enumerate element types and vice versa?
    Thanks for your help.
    GeePee

    Hi Geepee,
    Below is an approach you can use if you have a fixed number of moduleX elements. In the example below X=3.
    Assume a 2 object model Root & Module, where Root has a list of Module instances:
    @XmlRootElement(name="root")
    public class Root {
        private List<Module> module = new ArrayList<Module>(3);
        ...// Accessors omitted
    }It is currently not possible to map the items in the module list to the XML elements (module1-module3), but it would be possbile to map an object (see below) with 3 properties to those XML elements:
    public class AdaptedModuleList {
        private Module module1;
        private Module module2;
        private Module module3;
        ...// Accessors omitted
    }What is required is a means to convert the unmappable object to a mappable one. This is done using a Converter:
    import org.eclipse.persistence.mappings.DatabaseMapping;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.mappings.converters.Converter;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.sessions.Session;
    public class ModuleListConverter implements Converter {
        public void initialize(DatabaseMapping mapping, Session session) {}
        public Object convertDataValueToObjectValue(Object dataValue, Session session) {
            AdaptedModuleList adaptedModuleList = (AdaptedModuleList) dataValue;
            if(null == adaptedModuleList) {
                return null;
            List<Module> moduleList = new ArrayList<Module>(3);
            moduleList.add(adaptedModuleList.getModule1());
            moduleList.add(adaptedModuleList.getModule2());
            moduleList.add(adaptedModuleList.getModule3());
            return moduleList;
        public Object convertObjectValueToDataValue(Object objectValue, Session session) {
            List<Module> moduleList = (List<Module>) objectValue;
            if(null == moduleList) {
                return null;
            AdaptedModuleList adaptedModuleList = new AdaptedModuleList();
            int moduleListSize = moduleList.size();
            if(moduleListSize > 0) {
                adaptedModuleList.setModule1(moduleList.get(0));
            if(moduleListSize > 1) {
                adaptedModuleList.setModule2(moduleList.get(1));
            if(moduleListSize > 2) {
                adaptedModuleList.setModule3(moduleList.get(2));
            return adaptedModuleList;
        public boolean isMutable() {
            return true;
    }The converter is added to the mapping metadata through the use of a Customizer:
    import org.eclipse.persistence.config.DescriptorCustomizer;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.descriptors.ClassDescriptor;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.oxm.mappings.XMLCompositeCollectionMapping;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.oxm.mappings.XMLCompositeObjectMapping;
    public class RootCustomizer implements DescriptorCustomizer {
        public void customize(ClassDescriptor descriptor) throws Exception {
            XMLCompositeCollectionMapping originalModuleMapping = (XMLCompositeCollectionMapping) descriptor.removeMappingForAttributeName("module");
            XMLCompositeObjectMapping newModuleMapping = new XMLCompositeObjectMapping();
            newModuleMapping.setAttributeName(originalModuleMapping.getAttributeName());
            newModuleMapping.setXPath(".");
            newModuleMapping.setReferenceClass(AdaptedModuleList.class);
            newModuleMapping.setConverter(new ModuleListConverter());
            descriptor.addMapping(newModuleMapping);
    }Part 1/2

  • Let Auto-Map in Transform work with COLLAPSED nodes/tags ?

    When I open for a "Transform" activity the mapping editor and drag one complextype from one side to another on the other side then Auto-Mapping only works if the node/tag trees on both elements/sides are full expanded.
    If they are collapsed then auto-map does (currently) not work.
    Is there a way (option) to tell JDeveloper to look INSIDE collapsed nodes/trees and to auto-map the elements anyway?

    Hi,
    Have you checked if the "outside" ACL is getting hitcounts?
    Could also be usefull to check the logs through ASDM monitoring and see what happens when you attempt the connection.
    The NAT configurations seem correct to me.
    Have you tried to test the connections by briefly allowing all traffic from outside? (Since the only place people could connect to is the forwarded ports.) Have you tried to add the current DHCP IP of "outside" to the ACL and see if it makes any difference?
    If no configuration change makes a difference I would suggest using the ASDM monitoring to take logs of what happens.
    You could also use the "packet-tracer" command
    Format is
    packet-tracer input outside tcp
    And copy/paste the output here.

  • Map result set elements to XML

    Hi,
    Iam retrieving fields from data base in to a result set.Iam creating an xml file using the result set fields by passing the column names as xml tags.the xml file is generated and working fine.But i wanted to add custom tags instead of column names in my xml files.
    is there any way to map the fields with my custom tag names?
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    I know that the site below does not cover exactly what you want but you can customize the code snippets to your needs. All you have to do is to devise a suitable algorithm to avoid the repetition of sibling elements having the same text. With regard to this requirement I advise you to order the records in the ResultSet before processing them because it makes the comparison of the records (which is unavoidable to find the repetitive values) much easier.

  • Mapping of XML tags with column

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE POBJECT_T AS OBJECT (PO VARCHAR2(255),PI PINSTANCE_T);

    Hi,
    thx for your Reply,
    seems to work basicly but i get now in the IDE warnings with:
    "Data binding will not be able to detect changes when using
    square bracket operator. For Array, please use
    ArrayCollection.getItemAt() instead. "
    And how can i access the next item something like this didnt
    work right
    try someniceid.lastResult["some-root"]["someother-root"]
    I had to use single quotes (') to get it to work.
    Any ideas?

    I'm sorry for being so dense, but I'm not quite following, although what I've tried makes me think if I can follow you, it will work :)
    To answer your initial questions, you are correct with both your assumptions:
    1) detailType is the parameter that specificies YTD/Weekly, this is a "report defined" parameter that I am using to determine which Row Group to display (either YTD or Weekly)
    2) SchoolDaysActiveWeek is the parameter that is being set to either true or false -- this is a field in the cube that states whether that record is for the current week or not
    So in following your instructions, well that's the problem I'm not quite following :)
    1) When you say Delete the SchoolDaysActiveWeek parameter from the report only, do you mean to mark the parameter as Hidden?  If so, I've done this.
    2) I'm not quite sure where to use the statement you provided me.  You said to put it in the dataset, but I don't know which dataset.  I assume you mean the "main" dataset (as opposed to the hidden dataset that gets generated when you mark a field
    as a parameter).  If this is the case, the only place I could see that would allow you to use such a statement is in the Filter section of the properties.  I tried this, and it did not generate any errors, but it also kept my report groups from displaying
    -- it just showed a blank report, so I think it probably wasn't bringing back any rows to populate them with.
    I also tried going into the Expression section for the SchoolDaysActiveWeek parameter in the second screenshot and placing the statement there.  When I did this and ran the report, I would get the following error:
    The 'SchoolDaysActiveWeek' parameter is missing a value
    So what am I missing!?
    Also, thanks for taking the time to respond!!

  • Getting unwanted values between the XML tags in XSLT mapping

  • Generation of XML Tags for columns in Lexical parameter in select query

    Hi,
    I have lexical parameter in my select statement of my data model in the report.
    How do i generate XML tags for these columns inside a Lexical Parameter?
    Simple Example: I have data model query as follows:
    SELECT msi.inventory_item_id
    &LP_SELECT
    FROM mtl_system_items_b
    Here my lexical Parameter LP_SELECT is generated in before report trigger as follows in my report:
    :LP_SELECT := 'msi.segment1,msi.description';
    So, the question is how to generate XML Tags for columns in Lexical Parameter(as in the example above, i need XML tags for these columns - segment1 and description)
    Thanks,

    try this
    Select &order data_show
    from oe_order_headers_all

    and setting  :order:='order_number';  in after parameter form trigger.
