Auto naming logic for ID graphic objects

Can anyone tell me what logic is used for the naming of JPG/PNG images that are generated for InDesign-drawn boxes, line, ovals, groups, etc?
In other words, if you draw a circle in InDesign, anchor this to the text, output as reflowable EPUB, unzip the EPUB, and look in the oebps\image folder, you'll see an image named something like 2022.jpg. I'm trying to determine the logic behind this naming, as I need to reuse these images for something else.

Thank you Douglas. This is really helpful.
Here is what I need this for: I've got a large scripting project where a health care client has 2500+ ID files that are very regular in their layout, structure, use of styles, etc. They need to get the content from these documents, along with the simple layout (h1, h2, h3, body, etc) into various CMS. Some of the CMS ingest HTML, some XML, etc. I've written a series of scripts that help a user quickly check/cleanup/"normalize" a document, and then export to html/xml per the specifications of the CMS.
For various reasons, I'm using InDesign's HTML export engine as the starting point, so it creates a "web-resources" folder and dumps the images in there. We need to dump the images that are generated from each document's export into a common images folder. We can be guaranteed that the placed image filenames are unique. But it looks like the auto-generated filenames from the UID will not likely always be unique, so I'll probably add a timecode or something to the filename to ensure that it is unique.
This is a very unique and challenging project. I'm having fun with it.

  • How to set naming standards for SQL Developer

    I am using SQL Developer version 3.0.04.
    In the newly integrated and very useful Data Modeler, we can set preferences for the naming standards to be applied when creating logical and relational model objects ( primary keys, foreign keys, et cetera). I would like to know if there is a way to set naming standards for the relational objects we create in SQL Developer on existing tables ( ( primary keys, foreign keys, et cetera).
    Any help in setting such preferences would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    If you want to set up a diagram for an existing database, you can use File/Data Modeler/Import/Data Dictionary to import its definitions.
    Alternatively you can open a Data Modeler Browser (using View/Data Modeler/Browser), expand the node for Design "Untitled_1",
    expand the node for Relational Models, and select Show from the Right-click drop-down menu for "Relational_1" to create a Relational Model diagram.
    You can then drag Tables from SQL Developer's Connections tree onto the diagram.
    Once you have a Relational Model you can reverse engineer it to an Entity-Relationship model using the << button in the button bar
    (or by selecting "Engineer to Logical Model" from the drop-down menu for the Relational Model).
    Note that there is now a separate forum for SQL Developer Data Modeler topics: SQL Developer Data Modeler

  • Rotate Graphics object

    I need to implement rotation on graphics objects in a project that does NOT used graphics2d. Changing the code so that it does not use Graphics but Graphics2D would take a really long time. Is there a way to cast from one type of object to the other or is there some fast way to convert the code?

    I am not sure what you are asking for. Are you saying that the Graphics object that you have been using so far in your project is not an instance of Graphics2D, i.e., if your Graphics object is g then
    g instanceof Graphics2D evaluates to false?
    I don't even know how to get an such an instance, so in that case I may not be able to help you. All Graphics objects that I have encountered are instances of Graphics2D although references to this object may have been declared as Graphics. If that is also the case for your Graphics object, then all you need to do is to declare a new Graphics2D reference and set it to point to your Graphics object cast into Graphics2D (which is one line of code, which I showed you earlier). Then you could rename all usages of the old reference to the new reference (if you are using an IDE, then chances are that it will have refactoring support that will make this easy).
    *Actually, you do not need to rename all usages, only those usages where you call a method that is not in Graphics.*
    I don't think you need to convert any of you shapes. I don't understand what you mean by converting shapes to 2D shapes.

  • Naming standards for reports in Business Objects?

    Dear colleagues,
    I am about to start development of universes, queries and reports in Business Object for a client. Does anyone of you have any tips on naming standards for the reports? The source system that the dataware house is based on is a fund system. Often the name can be some letters and some numbers. Is there any logic behind this that I can follow?
    I will sign points!
    Kind regards
    Silje

    Hi Silje,
    Naming convetions should really tie in with your own processes. So it hard to say there is one for all.
    I generally create a report library. This is a simple list in Excel of the reports. It will contain the following
    Report Id: A number that is unique to each report, e.g. 1000
    Report Name: A short descriptive name, Monthly_Returns
    Report Location: The folder path to the report
    Report Description: A full descriptive name
    Report Contact: The person to contact about the report, developer or support person
    Report Owner: Business Owner of the report
    In WebI I would then call the report 1000_Monthly_Returns. I generally use the folder name to point to the area, so in the case of funds this report would be in the Funds folder.
    Hope this helps

  • Creating new graphics object from a existing one and sending it for print

    Hello,
    i have a graphics object which is big in size, I am creating a new graphics object from the existing one as given below
    //map is a graphic object
    Graphic g1 = (Graphic)map.create(x,y,width,height);
    Graphic g2 = (Graphic)map.create(x,y,width1,height1);
    Graphic g3 = (Graphic)map.create(x,y,width2,height2);
    arrayList.add(g1);
    arrayList.add(g2);
    arrayList.add(g3);
    Now I want to send the graphic object g1,g2,g3 for print in the method
    public int print (Graphics g, PageFormat pf, int idx) throws PrinterException {
    // Printable's method implementation
    if (curPageFormat != pf) {
    curPageFormat = pf;
    pages = repaginate (pf);
    if (idx >= 3)) {
    return Printable.NO_SUCH_PAGE;
    g = (Graphics) arrayList.get(idx);
    return Printable.PAGE_EXISTS;
    This is not working... what is wrong. can anybody suggest..
    I tried standardprint.java to print a object inside a scrollpane, it is not printing the entire diagram. so I am thinking of something like this.... Please let me know what to do....
    Thanks
    Serj

    The easy way to do this is create a copy using Windows Explorer.
    Open the project and go to File > Rename.
    Then you have your 2013 ready made project.

  • Need a Graphic Object for printing

    Hi,
    I generate a report with data from a database.
    At the moment I have an object that implements printable.
    Everytime the print method is called the report has
    to be created new.
    Now I want a seperate Graphics2D object in which teh report
    is created for once. And when a print
    job is started I want to copy it to the Graphics object
    in the printmethod.
    How can I create a Graphics2D Object for my own ?
    Thanx Stephan

    try:
    BufferedImage bufferedImage = new BufferedImage(500, 200, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
    Graphics2D g = (Graphics2D) bufferedImage.getGraphics();
    g.drawString("Go to town!", 10, 10);This is how I did it when I needed to create images in a servlet. I expect it would also work for printing purposes... I guess I'll find out soon enough. :)

  • Workflow: Auto forward for next level for decision with object (RFQ)

    Hi all,
    I have the same requirement as the one in this post but for RFQ approval instead of PO
    Workflow -Auto forward for next level for decision with object (PR)
    I have tried deadline monitoring, but I need to capture the level in which the RFQ is in order to escalate.
    Can someone let me know how to proceed further.
    Regards,
    nsp.

    Hi Aamir,
    As you said we have to use deadline monitoring here.
    For this case use 'Requested Start'. From your i came to know this workitem should be a dialog workitem, so the workflow will wait for the time what you have specified in the requested start and when it is reached it places the workitem in the corresponding recipient inbox.

  • How to set tool tips for graphic objects.

    Hi
    i have a code like this
    here dst is graphic object but i casted ti Graphic2D object because i have to set back ground color.
    Graphics2D lGraphic = (Graphics2D) dst;
    lGraphic.setBackground(Color.RED);
    lGraphic.clearRect((int) lx, (int) ly, (int) lw + 1, (int) lh + 1);
    lGraphic.drawRect(0, 0, (int) lw, (int) lh);
    so now i want to set a tool tip for this lGraphic Object.
    can any body please post answer for this proble.
    if you will post in advance it will help me a lot.

    so now i want to set a tool tip for this lGraphic Object.Your concepts are all wrong. Read the API for java.awt.Graphics and try to understand that a Graphics object is akin to a paintbrush: it has methods to draw whatever is to be drawn. The painting is not the brush, the brush does the painting.
    To obtain a custom tooltip at certain locations within a JComponent, I think the easiest way is to override getToolTipText(MouseEvent me). The method can return null for locations where a tooltip is not to be shown.

  • FM10/Acrobat X 10-use named destinations for PDF linking

    My company wants our documentation to be accessible from a web page. No problem there. But they want to provide users with links that open the PDF files to a specific section.
    My books are in FM10. I created hypertext named destinations (example hyperlink syntax: newlink alarm) at the points where they want to open the PDF. I then saved the book to PDF, with the Create Named Destinations for All Paragraphs check box selected.
    We are now trying to build a link from the web page to open the PDF at the named destination. Here is some info from the web developer on his syntax:
    These zoom but do not position you to the named destination:
         <a href="Documentation/IO.OS 2.1.3 Technical Overview.pdf#nameddest=alarm&zoom=40">Tech Doc</a>
         <a href="Documentation/IO.OS 2.1.3 Technical Overview.pdf#alarm&zoom=40">Tech Doc</a>
    This positions to the indicated page and zooms:
         <a href="Documentation/IO.OS 2.1.3 Technical Overview.pdf#page=20&zoom=40">Tech Doc</a>
    What are we doing wrong? I've been searching the forums and community help and we've tried all the syntax examples we can find. Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

    Hi Kim,
    Our team recently found a way to put custom named destinations in our FrameMaker files that can be used for linking to specific places in the PDF output (with no strange alphanumeric codes added to the named destinations).
    The named destinations are anchored in FM so they stay with whatever heading/text/graphic/etc they are "attached" to, even as content is added to/removed from the FM files.
    Will the following work as part of the solution you're looking for? (We're also using FM10 and Acrobat X.)
    In FM, insert a new text frame object.
    Type the following code in the text frame: [/Dest /Help123/Dest pdfmark
    where “Help123” is the name that will appear in the PDF for this named destination. This is name you would use in your hyperlinks. Our programmers use this name for the context-sensitive help links in the user interface.
    Right-click on the text frame and select Object Properties. Click to select the PostScript Code check box, then click the Set button.
    NOTE: Once the PostScript Code check box is selected, the text in the text frame cannot be edited. To edit the text in the text frame, you have to first turn off the PostScript Code option, edit the text, and then turn the PostScript Code option back on.
    Select the text frame object, then cut and paste to create a new instance of it. This places the text frame inside an anchored frame.
    You can now “attach” the anchored frame to whatever heading/figure/text/etc the named destination should link to.
    Here's the catch. To get the named destination in the PDF output, you can’t use the “Save as PDF” command in FM – you must print to PDF instead:
    In the FM file, click File >> Print Setup.
    Select Adobe PDF in the Name drop-down list, then click the Properties button.
    Deselect the Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts check box, then click OK.
    Click OK.
    Click File >> Print.
    Select the Generate Acrobat Data check box.
    Click the PDF Setup button to define bookmark links, print quality, etc, then click the Set button when done.
    Click the Print button.
    The generated PDF file should contain all the bookmarks you’ve defined as well as all the named destinations you added (with the exact names you specified).
    Hope that helps. Thanks, and good luck,
    Jason

  • Logical Database in Abap Objects

    Hi to All
    I want do it a program report using a Logical Database.
    Is this possible ??? But when I make a GET <node>, occurs the following error:
             "" Statement "ENDMETHOD" missing.  ""
    I'm doing the following:
    CLASS MONFIN IMPLEMENTATION.
           METHOD TRAER_DATOS.
                   GET VBRK.
           ENDMETHOD.
    ENDCLASS.
    Please, somebody tell me how I use the logical database in Abap Objects.
    Thank you very much
    Regards
    Dario R.

    Hi there
    Logical databases whilst of "some use" are not really part of OO.
    If you want to use a logical database in an abap OO program I would create a special class which just does the get data from your DB and pass this either at record or table level.
    Techniques such as GET XXXX LATE aren't really part of any OO type of application since at Object Instantiation time you should be able to access ALL the attributes of that object.
    As far as OO is concerned Logical databases are a throwback to "Dinosaur Technology".
    Since however modules such as SD and FI are still heavily reliant on relational structures (i.e linked tables etc)  then there is still some limited life in this stuff but for OO try and solve it by another method.
    If you really must use this stuff in OO then do it via a FMOD call and save the data in a table which your method will pass back to your application program.
    You can't issue a GET command directly in a method.
    Cheers
    Jimbo

  • How to change font/ font color etc in a graphic object using JCombobox?

    Hello
    My program im writing recently is a small tiny application which can change fonts, font sizes, font colors and background color of the graphics object containing some strings. Im planning to use Jcomboboxes for all those 4 ideas in implementing those functions. Somehow it doesnt work! Any help would be grateful.
    So currently what ive done so far is that: Im using two classes to implement the whole program. One class is the main class which contains the GUI with its components (Jcomboboxes etc..) and the other class is a class extending JPanel which does all the drawing. Therefore it contains a graphics object in that class which draws the string. However what i want it to do is using jcombobox which should contain alit of all fonts available/ font sizes/ colors etc. When i scroll through the lists and click the one item i want - the graphics object properties (font sizes/ color etc) should change as a result.
    What ive gt so far is implemented the jcomboboxes in place. Problem is i cant get the font to change once selecting an item form it.
    Another problem is that to set the color of font - i need to use it with a graphics object in the paintcomponent method. In this case i dnt want to create several diff paint.. method with different property settings (font/ size/ color)
    Below is my code; perhaps you'll understand more looking at code.
    public class main...
    Color[] Colors = {Color.BLUE, Color.RED, Color.GREEN};
            ColorList = new JComboBox(Colors);
    ColorList.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ev) {
                     JComboBox cb = (JComboBox)ev.getSource();
                    Color colorType = (Color)cb.getSelectedItem();
                    drawingBoard.setBackground(colorType);
              });;1) providing the GUI is correctly implemented with components
    2) Combobox stores the colors in an array
    3) ActionListener should do following job: (but cant get it right - that is where my problem is)
    - once selected the item (color/ font size etc... as i would have similar methods for each) i want, it should pass the item into the drawingboard class (JPanel) and then this class should do the job.
    public class DrawingBoard extends JPanel {
           private String message;
           public DrawingBoard() {
                  setBackground(Color.white);
                  Font font = new Font("Serif", Font.PLAIN, fontSize);
                  setFont(font);
                  message = "";
           public void setMessage(String m) {
                message = m;
                repaint();
           public void paintComponent(Graphics g) {
                  super.paintComponent(g);
                  //setBackground(Color.RED);
                  Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
                  g2.setRenderingHint
                  g2.drawString(message, 50, 50);
           public void settingFont(String font) {
                //not sure how to implement this?                          //Jcombobox should pass an item to this
                                   //it should match against all known fonts in system then set that font to the graphics
          private void settingFontSize(Graphics g, int f) {
                         //same probelm with above..
          public void setBackgroundColor(Color c) {
               setBackground(c);
               repaint(); // still not sure if this done corretly.
          public void setFontColor(Color c) {
                    //not sure how to do this part aswell.
                   //i know a method " g.setColor(c)" exist but i need to use a graphics object - and to do that i need to pass it in (then it will cause some confusion in the main class (previous code)
           My problems have been highlighted in the comments of code above.
    Any help will be much appreciated thanks!!!

    It is the completely correct code
    I hope that's what you need
    Just put DrawingBoard into JFrame and run
    Good luck!
    public class DrawingBoard extends JPanel implements ActionListener{
         private String message = "message";
         private Font font = new Font("Serif", Font.PLAIN, 10);
         private Color color = Color.RED;
         private Color bg = Color.WHITE;
         private int size = 10;
         public DrawingBoard(){
              JComboBox cbFont = new JComboBox(GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment().getAvailableFontFamilyNames());
              cbFont.setActionCommand("font");
              JComboBox cbSize = new JComboBox(new Integer[]{new Integer(14), new Integer(13)});
              cbSize.setActionCommand("size");
              JComboBox cbColor = new JComboBox(new Color[]{Color.BLUE, Color.RED, Color.GREEN});
              cbColor.setActionCommand("color");
              JComboBox cbBG = new JComboBox(new Color[]{Color.BLUE, Color.RED, Color.GREEN});
              cbBG.setActionCommand("bg");
              add(cbFont);
              cbFont.addActionListener(this);
              add(cbSize);
              cbSize.addActionListener(this);
              add(cbColor);
              cbColor.addActionListener(this);
              add(cbBG);
              cbBG.addActionListener(this);
         public void setMessage(String m){
              message = m;
              repaint();
         protected void paintComponent(Graphics g){
              super.paintComponent(g);
              Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D)g;
              g2.setColor(bg);//set background color
              g2.fillRect(0,0, getWidth(), getHeight());
              g2.setColor(color);//set text color
              FontRenderContext frc = g2.getFontRenderContext();
              TextLayout tl = new TextLayout(message,font,frc);//set font and message
              AffineTransform at = new AffineTransform();
              at.setToTranslation(getWidth()/2-tl.getBounds().getWidth()/2,
                        getWidth()/2 + tl.getBounds().getHeight()/2);//set text at center of panel
              g2.fill(tl.getOutline(at));
         public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
              JComboBox cb = (JComboBox)e.getSource();
              if (e.getActionCommand().equals("font")){
                   font = new Font(cb.getSelectedItem().toString(), Font.PLAIN, size);
              }else if (e.getActionCommand().equals("size")){
                   size = ((Integer)cb.getSelectedItem()).intValue();
              }else if (e.getActionCommand().equals("color")){
                   color = (Color)cb.getSelectedItem();
              }else if (e.getActionCommand().equals("bg")){
                   bg = (Color)cb.getSelectedItem();
              repaint();
    }

  • Multiple Transports for the Same Object.

    I have ABAP program 123 and I make a change, create transport A and release the transport. I do not request transport A go to production.
    I then modify ABAP program 123 again, create transport B and release the transport. I do not request transport B go to production.
    Now I request transport A go to production.
    Can someone explain to me why the changes in transport B are included when transport A is moved to production?
    I thought each transport would be at its own change level.
    Thank-you.

    I can guarantee all of you that when Transport A was moved, it contained changes that were made in Transport B.
    Surely you understand that Thomas is correct and that there's a logical reason, not related to transport layer configuration, for the issue?   You CAN have multiple transports open for the same object without a lock by forcing it but check the dates as already suggested...

  • Trying to move a graphics object using buttons.

    Hello, im fairly new to GUI's. Anyway I have 1 class which makes my main JFrame, then I have another 2 classes, one to draw a lil square graphics component (which iwanna move around) which is placed in the center of my main frame and then another class to draw a Buttonpanel with my buttons on which is placed at the bottom of my main frame.
    I have then made an event handling class which implements ActionListner, I am confused at how I can get the graphics object moving, and where I need to place the updateGUI() method which the actionPerformed method calls from inside the event handling class.
    I am aware you can repaint() graphics and assume this would be used, does anyone have a good example of something simular being done or could post any help or code to aid me, thanks!

    Yeah.. here's an example of custom painting on a JPanel with a box. I used a mouse as it was easier for me to setup than a nice button panel on the side.
    Anyways... it should make it pretty clear how to get everything setup, just add a button panel on the side. and use it to move the box instead of the mouse.
