Auto-Rewind Video

Hello all,
How do I get video to "auto-rewind" I have a few pages laid out and on each page is a .flv video with some navigation buttons that lead to other pages. When I click from the first page to the second page, the second page video plays fine but when I click to go back to the first page the first page video continues to play from the point I left that page. I would like all the videos in all the pages to start over when I go to that page.
Example: I'm mocking up a simple branching e-learning game when the user see a video clip and then is presented with a few options of how to proceed. If the user clicks the right response a new video plays and the story continues. If the user picks the wrong answer then they are given some feedback and can click a button to retry. I would like the video to rewind each time so when they get a wrong answer they can hit a "retry" button and be taken back to veiw the video again.

Hey!
When you transition to a new state, you'd like your video from the previous state to stop.
Stop in Catalyst does what you're looking for (stops the video, auto rewinds back to the beginning).
You can achieve this using transitions in the timeline panel (bottom of Catalyst).
1) Look for the transition in the left hand list which matches the pages workflow.
Ie, you have a video on Page 1, and a video on Page 2.
2) In the transitions list, look for 'Page 1 > Page 2', and click it to select it.
3) Select your video on the artboard.
4) In the bottom of the timelines panel, click 'Add Action'.
5) You'll see a submenu option called 'Video Controls'. Choose 'Stop'.
6) Now whenever your application transitions from Page 1, to Page 2, it will stop the selected video.
When you return to Page 1, it should be back at the beginning such that you can play it again.
Does this achieve what you're looking for?

Auto rewind video in iphone

i created an app which loads external video with StageWebView. it works ok, however when i push the "done" (near the Download progress bar)
during runtime ,the video stops and resizes itself to small square in the top corner, then if i push the home button on iphone to change app and then return to my app by pushing its icon, the video is as it still as it was before - small square.
how can i trigger the "done" button to close app?

Video auto-rewind and thumbnails

Hello Everybody. I'm starting to feel like I post in here quite a bit. Unfortunately I'm posting more questions than answers for not but soon I'll be able to pay it forward. I learn new stuff every week. This week, I'm strugglin with video.
I have a number of videos in my project. They're .flv, I have them set to Progressive Download Video, display for "rest of slide," the autoplay option is checked and the auto-rewind option is unchecked. Here's the deal though...they all rewind to the first frame after the video. Not cool. Is there anywhere else within captivate to set an video option that overrides the property pannel "auto rewind" option? Does the authoring tool matter? These were built in After Effects then converted to FLV. Any help is appreciated.
Also, What about thumbnail images? I'm pretty sure you could select a thumbnail from any frame when you put a video into inDesign. Can you select a thumbnail image in captivate as well?

Currently publishing these as swf but I would like to retain the option/possibility of HTML5. Our IT folks haven't approved of pushing to tablets yet (I guess it's a security thing? They're all about cyber security) but I anticipate we'll be asked to publish mobile sooner or later.

Video Auto Rewind Problem

In Premier Elements I added a still photo to the beginning of
a Quicktime movie. The still image fades into the movie when the
play button is hit. I saved this as a quicktime movie and used the
Flash 8 video encoder to create a FLV file which I imported into
Flash 8.
The problem is the movie doesn't Auto Rewind when it reaches
the end. AutoRewind is set to true in the Flash Component
Inspector.

Make sure that Captivate 7 is updated to 7.0.1.237 (Help > About Adobe Captivate), if not then update it first (Help > Updates).
Is it doing for a number of videos or only one video? Is there a possiblity if you could import the video as multi slide, instead of Event video.

Video Auto Rewind Turned Off Still Rewinds

I have a video that I have turned off the Auto Rewind setting and it still is showing the the first frame of the video when it reaches the end. Does anyone know how to fix this in Captivate 7?

Is it doing for a number of videos or only one video? Is there a possiblity if you could import the video as multi slide, instead of Event video.

My flash video won't auto rewind

I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 and I've checked the auto rewind button and it shows up in the code below but it doesn't auto rewind in the web page, it auto plays but just plays once and stops. Please help.

Rewind video like VCR rewind button AS2.0

I have an .flv video that I embedded into my flash file that I want to play both forward and backward at the same frame rate. I got it to work accept when I hit the button "backButton" it plays backwards really slow and jittery, is there anything I can do to fix this with the actionscrip I already have, or is there a better way to get this to work?

Imovie 09 How do I stop Imovie from auto importing video from iphoto.
Hi I've done a lot of searches on how to do this but no answers found.
Imovie is beginning to become really slow because of the large number of video's. It takes 3 minutes to startup. Editing is sometimes slow lot's of spinning beach balls e.t.c.
I would like to only import the video I want to edit and hopefully get a quicker Imovie in the process.
My Iphoto library is about 95 Gbyte in size.
My mac has 4 gb ram and I use the internal disk.
Any other ways to work with Imovie/Iphoto are also welcome.

I won't get iMovie 9 till Tuesday, but based on what you said I may need to take some precautions. One reason I didn't like iMovie 8 is because it automatically imported everything in iPhoto library. What I'm going to do is create a new iPhoto library before importing the photos/videos from the camera. Or if you already have it in your main iPhoto library copy only the photos you'll use in your iMovie 9 project to the new library. Then start iPhoto while pressing the option key which will allow you to select the new iPhoto library you have created. Then I suppose that when you start iMovie 9 it will automatically import only the photos/videos from the new library.

How can you auto-accept Video Calls in Messages.app

In Ichat there used to be a way to select a user and under "alerts" (which is no longer a perference option in messages) choose to auto-accept video calls from that person.
Is there a way to set up Messages to auto acccept video calls? It was great for when I wanted to check in on my puppy.

The page was never very good at keeping up to date with iChat version numbers so type your specs into the Free Text area.
It might be possible to copy the AppleScript that did this and make a copy and remove the non Video bits and use it from the Dock.

Is there away to disable Video auto playing in Facebook App on iphone 5, os 7?

They do not let you disable it- but there is a way sort of to turn the annoyance off part time:
Settings–>Facebook–>Settings–>Auto-play videos on WiFi only
Doesn't make it less annoying

I love listening to audiobooks. I have long searched for a device that would do this best. The most frustrating thing when listening to a book is to miss a few words and want to go back 5 or so seconds, only to accidentally rewind to the beginning of the book. It makes me want to pull my hair out when I have to then go skim through potentially hours worth of audio to find my place again.
The Ipods do have an auto-rewind button, but it goes back a full 30 seconds. That's way too much! Why not make a button that goes back 5 seconds or so. Or better yet, make it configurable by the user to suit his or her own tastes. Anyone who has ever used a digital DVR can attest to how valuable this one little enhancement would be. There are a HUGE number of audiobook listener's out there and I honestly think that if a company beats Apple to the punch on this, those users will jump ship to take advantage of a player with that capability if they were aware of that player. I know I would.
When the Ipod had the wheel, it wasn't perfect (in fact far from it) but at least it offered some degree of control in rewinding a small amount. Now, it's 30 seconds, or the whole book.
Please make this enhancement. I know it might seem small, but it is HUGE (I like that word).
It's so frustrating, because I have taken the time to write in on this a couple of times in the past and I am either being completely ignored, or Apple just doesn't see the value in such an easy upgrade/tweek. It's hard for me to believe the latter, so it makes me feel that Apple just doesn't care.
I love my iPod, but I would LOVE it (HUGE) if it had this fix.

Is there a way to disable the auto play video and audio ads that are showing up on the web these days?

A lot of sites have video ads that load and start playing while safari is loading the entire page - slows everythiing down. Also a couple news sites I go to have autoload/play content. Is there a way to disable these auto loads?

Install the ClickToFlash or ClickToPlugin Safari extension.

Auto start video on iPad

Does edge 2014 have an auto start feature that works on the iPad? I have it working perfectly on the desktop and laptop. I do not want to show video controls either.

Unfortunately, the longer answer is "no". iOS and most Android devices require video playback to be initiated by a user event such as touch, click, swipe, etc., and not the autoplay (nor preload) attribute.
While there is a workaround shown in the above link, it still requires a user action to play the "dummy" video element before a different video src can be attached to the element, and there's no way to preload any video on iOS, so there likely will be animation synchronization issues as well. Circumventing the built-in limitations of these devices can also have unexpected consequences for the viewer on a cellular network (possibly incurring data charges without their knowledge - that's general reason given why these devices don't support autoplay of video and audio elements).
If the mobile platform is important to you, the better way is to design your site in such a way that a user event is required to initiate video playback, or provide controls to the video element so the user can choose to initiate playback.
