Auto Start applications

Can anyone tell me how to make applications auto start after a reboot?
I am really fustrated about how I must allways start fussclock manually after a reboot.
Nopt sure if it can be done, but thanks for any help on the subject.

Here's how to do to this and not the least bit frustrating.
Open System Preferences, click on Accounts. When that window opens lick where it says: Login Items Now, under the box on the right click the box on the right. A dialog box will open. Navigate to the Applications folder, select the application you wish to launch on boot. *You may be prompted for your administrator password. Quit System Preferences and reboot. That's all there is to it.

What's the easiest was to have the container auto-launch a specific application whenever it is started/restarted? I assume this would also happen if the entire server were rtestarted?

Hello,
If you put a server in your project and you put the servlet at auto-start your application will start automatically when the server will start.
To do that you just have to use the element:
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
in the servlet tag.
server.xml:

Auto start application in web logic

Hello,
I need to auto startup an application in a unix server. The application uses session bean to access the database.
Is it possible to auto start up the application using a cron tab/cron job because the application is using session bean residing in weblogic server?
If not how do i do that? convert the session bean into normal java classes and access database without using a session bean?

I tried adding the listener .
It work in tomcat but after i transport it into weblogic 5.1, i give this error.
Received SAXParseException from Sun Parser at line 5, column -1: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "web-app" does not allow "listener" here.
I removed all other elements and it stil l wont work...

I tried using cron job but i dont think i can because im using EJB in my program..init() is not called when u start the server...
im going to try the <!ELEMENT load-on-startup (#PCDATA)> to start it using a http servlet instead of a listener...

Auto starting applications on boot

I'd love to have terminal auto start and position in the bottom left of the screen. What file should I edit to make this happen? And, what how can I specify where the applicaiton should appear?
I looked for a rc.conf file, but could not find. Perhaps there is an easy way of doing this in the GUI.
Which is the best approach?

Run Terminal and set the window size and position you want, then use "Save As..." from the "File" menu to create a settings file. Add this file to the "Login Items" in "Accounts" System Preference.

Is there a way to auto-start applications in full screen, such as Safari, Mail, iTunes etc.?

I would like several applications to start in full screen, including Mail, Safari and iTunes, rather than starting them, then making them full screen. Is there a setting somewhere or a way of doing that? Thanks in advance.

I found it. In System Preferences under General "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps" has to be checked. However when that is checked it takes you back to all of the sites you had open when you quit the app. I would prefer it start full screen, but back at the home page. Do yours do that as well?

Application module auto-start during debug

Hello
I'm looking for a way to get my application module to start automatically when I debug. I've played with options like setting "Runtime Instantiation Behavior" to "Non-Lazy Loading" in the app module editor. I can't exactly test the auto-start by actually deploying to an app server right now, so I need a way to test this during a local debug session. Has anyone ever done this?

This should be possible. Check if you have set <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>in the servlet section of your web.xml file.

Auto start Java Card application

Hello,
is it possible to start a Java Card application from the SIM card right after the mobile is switched on?
I talked to a guy from a SIM card manufacturer and he told me it's possible since the device checks on start if a Java Card application is present to display it in the phone's menu, but it's device dependant how it's done and if the application really will be started (which sounds kind of strange).
Can someone give me more details if it's possible to auto start a application and how it's done ( code snippet would be great ; )?

The first event after ME startup, which STK applet could catch is Terminal Profile.
So, in applet class constructor should be smthng like
ToolkitRegistry reg = ToolkitRegistry.getEntry();
reg.setEvent(EVENT_PROFILE_DOWNLOAD);
and applet will trigger on Terminal Profile arrival.

Application Server Auto Start

Its really rare that i am able so autostart my infrastructure and middle tier( both on same server) at system startup. I dont know with i do something wrong or is there problem with appserver
Right now i have autostart disabled but now i am facing aanother problem. I started listener and then asdb (infrastructure database) and opmn is showing status of HTTP_server as BOUNCE, before this i used emctl start iasconsole command which started my enterprose manager and also started all opmn managed processes but startus of my HTTP_Server was "Stop" and it was not working, i restarted my server and now before startign iasconsole i started opmn using "opmnctl start" command and then when i look at the status of all components, all are down but status of HTTP_Server is "Bounce"
How to solve this.
should i use some other method to start all components ?

Auto start LR on camera connect?

Hi
When using Bridge it would auto-start when I connected my camera to my Mac, LR doesn't seem to follow this behaviour. It will open the import dialogue if LR is already running when I connect the camera. Is this normal behaviour?
Secondly, I can't find an option to delete files from the camera after importing them to LR as there is in Bridge, have I missed it or is it not there?

I couldn't get this suggestion to work on two different Macs. I don't think the Front Row.app is handled the same way as other applications. For example, you can't launch Front Row by double clicking on it inside the CoreServices folder.

Disable auto-start

How do I disable Iphoto auto-start? I am referring to it detecting a camera or images on a storage device. I do not use Iphoto or wish to.( OS 10.8, MacBook Air) in fact, can I just uninstall it without consequences to Aperture? Thanks!

From within iPhoto, go to the "iPhoto" menu and go to "Preferences." Under "Connecting camera opens:" select "No application." Now iPhoto should not launch when you plug in your camera.
