Automatic clearence of interface counter
As we all know #clear counters interface - command will clear interface stats. Now if the counter automatically clears & interface stats reset after few seconds then how can we solve the problem.
As per my scenario - Everytime I run #show interface f0/0/12 - command on my switch the stats reset all information. e.g. packet input output, broadcast everything. I never seen these with a increment value. Now what causes the interface counter to reset ????????
There are no duplex, speed mismatch. No Qos applied. This is a trunk port. Operation is normal though & other ports are showing correct info for all counter. Please suggest what should I check ?

How to copy a value of interface counter to a variable
Hi Folks,
I'm new in EEM and I'm trying to read a interface counter and save the value in a new variable. I will use the new variable to manipulate the value.
Should I use SNMP (event snmp oid ...) to get the value?
Regards
PadulaYou can use something like this:
event manager applet periodic-cmds
event timer watchdog time 60
action 1.0 cli command "enable"
action 2.0 cli command "show interface gi0/1 | append flash:/output.txt"
action 3.0 ...
Just keep adding the commands you want to run. -
HI ALL,
I have a file to file scenario used to move 100 PDF files from System A to B . i give wildcard * in the sender communication and used ASMA to name the file in the receiver side.
the requirment is client is asking to send a e-mail aftre sending all the files successfully from A to B the content in the email needs to be the number of files sent and time of the last file sent ..
how can i achive this in PI..?
thanks
souzHi Dominic,
you need to use BPM and counter variable to get the number of files coming in...and assign a increment in the container operation.
what about using OS command in the sender file adapter ?
A not so good idea below
What about putting a counter in the file name , is it allowed ,I think if you are allowed to add the counter and timestamps then you can see the file count and time of last processed in the file name itself. then you can design another interface to send a mail ...somehow

Interface count for getting a statistics of successfull communication?
Hi Experts,
I would like to get the count of successful and failed interface. This count needs to update a file where it will show the statistics of the interface as a report and another interface will get triggered. Please let me how to get the counts.
Thanks and Regards,
Praveen.C.VHi Tarang,
But this we can only view right.....
Basically I have around 120 interfaces in single namespace. All the interface is for updating the DB at various location based on different business requirments. Now one of the interfaces is to generate a report as a flat file format with a count of DB in location wise and successful/error transaction. For example:
DB1 - Germany - 3 channels successful- 0 channel fail
DB2 - Australia - 2 channels succssful - 1 channel fail
DB3 - UK - 4 channels succssful - 0 channel fail
etc
Please let me know how we can achive this.

Automatically shutdown wireless interface, out of office hours.
Hi,
I have a Cisco 870 Wireless-Router.
I would like to turn the wireless interface off between 9pm and 8am when it's not being used.
Is there a way this can be done automatically.
i.e. shutdown 802.11 interface via a routine job (or maybe via .TCL script)
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
MattHi All,
I have the answer to my own question.
(if anyone's interested)
It can be done ! By disabling the radio interface via EEM configuration.
thankfully I don't have to configure .tcl scripts.
......... here's my config .........
event manager applet ENABLE-RADIO
event timer cron name WeekdayStart cron-entry "00 8 * *"
action 1.0 cli command "enable"
action 1.1 cli command "configure term"
action 1.2 cli command "interface Dot11Radio0"
action 1.3 cli command "no shut"
event manager applet DISABLE-RADIO
event timer cron name WeekdayStart cron-entry "00 6 * *"
action 1.0 cli command "enable"
action 1.1 cli command "configure term"
action 1.2 cli command "interface Dot11Radio0"
action 1.3 cli command "shut" -
Script for automatically shutting flapping interface
dear all,
I am looking for a eem scrip so that when interface flap up/down for atleast five times, script should shutdown this interface and no shut another interface based on logs generated. and after three hours or so it should again no shut the flaping link.
Thanks
SajuHello,
I wrote a similar script to passive-interface EIGRP if it is flapping. The logic remains the same. Just change the trigger and what actions you want it to take.
event manager applet CIRCUIT_STABILITY authorization bypass
event syslog occurs 3 pattern " %DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE: EIGRP-IPv4 10: Neighbor 10.51.2.1 .*down" period 45000 maxrun 120
action 1.0 cli command "enable"
action 1.1 syslog priority errors msg "%EEM-ACTION-ENGAGED% due to Multiple EIGRP Flaps"
action 2.0 cli command "conf t"
action 3.0 cli command "router eigrp 10"
action 4.0 cli command "passive-interface tunnel 512"
action 4.1 syslog priority errors msg "Tunnel 512 has been made passive by TEST" -
Under IOS 12.1(13)E, one can view the detailed interface counter using the command, for example :
show counter interface gigabitEthernet 10/7
It comes up with detailed counters in hexadecimal format. I need to know, if there is way, to clear these counters.
Thanks,

List of all interfaces in the XI landscape
Hi Experts,
Currently my company is going through a merge project with a second company, and we want to integrate the SAP systems. This will inevitably mean more interfaces to be built. What we would like to have is a way to generate a list of all the current interfaces in the XI landscape, so we can get a good overview of what can be reused or copied.
I know we can get a list by opening the ID and looking at the configured scenario's, but we would like to automate this. Are there any tables where the interface scenario names are stored, and where we can see which type of interface it is (IDOC / File / JDBC / ...)?
If someone knows of a solution for this, it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise this will remain a manual action, and as such, prone to mistakes or oversights...
Our current XI landscape is XI 3.0, SP18.
Thanks in advance,
YordyHi,
Solution is very simple: Use ABAP table SMPPREL3, this table contains all relationships (end-2-end) interface. You can use this table to know all about interface.
Only caution is that this table also have some wild-card entries so total number of interface count can vary by 1-2%, but this happen on runtime only, this table will perfectly match your manual counting.

Gourav

Hard drive interface 6 Gb/s
Just posting my experience for others not to get caught in problems as I did recently.
Bought a Western Digital 6 Gb/s one terabyte 64 meg cache 7200 rpm sata hard drive. I installed it in a 2008 Mac Pro to run Snow Leopard. My one thought was it should be automatic,(even though interface is 6 Gb/s) just like all my other sata drive upgrades. The Mac Pro is rated at 3 Gb/s.
Apple manual reads 3 Gb/s for internal hard drives.
Used DU to partition in two. Did a DVD restore to the smaller partition. Booted that restore smaller partition. Installed Snow Leopard to the larger partition. All is well so far, I thought. After install of Snow Leopard, it boots into the set up screens and fails at "Do you already own a Mac?' I tried this two more times and repeated the failure.
Go to WD FAQS and read for the WD1002FAEX (BTW I don't think the brand or model matters when its 6 Gb/s). Word for word: "OPT 1 enabled. Jumpers on pins 5 & 6. 1.5 Gb/s data transfer." I thought that stinks. I'm going to take it back because I'm not settling for the lower rate.
I broke open the Mac Pro again to remove the hard drive. I noticed the printed text ON THE HARD DRIVE reading " set jumper to 5 & 6 to make 3 Gb/s compatible. I did and all works fine even the set up screen. I do wish the manufacturers would get their story straight on their support site.
Lastly, I also hope that many of the people on this forum can be more specific when counter measuring (finding the correct answer to a problem) and stop making an assumption that others know the counter measure.
A community service.Go to WD FAQs and read for the WD1002FAEX (BTW I don't think the brand or model matters when its 6 Gb/s). Word for word: "OPT 1 enabled. Jumpers on pins 5 & 6. 1.5 Gb/s data transfer." I thought that stinks. I'm going to take it back because I'm not settling for the lower rate.

It may be that the way to make it compatible with a 3 Gb/s computer is to set it to 1.5 Gb/s. 1.5 Gb/s drives are compatible with 3 Gb/s computers, but of course run at 1.5 Gb/s maximum. So the WD FAQs and drive label can be consistent. -

I did manualy shut down and no shut the secondary core switch interface Gi0/30 Its changed correctly to 1000Mbps .
pls tell some one why it's not automatically transer active interface and speed ???I remember that being there by design. Fail back or Preempt was not supported in case of Redundant interfaces and is actually not a good idea in terms of stability. You dont want the interface failover to happen again when the active interface comes back up. In order to force the 1000Mbps interface to be active, you can manually do so by the command 'redundant-interface 1 active
Hope that Helps

Can you do a Word Count in Pages?
I am working on College essays and applications and a lot of the essays they require you to write can only be so many words. Is there a way to do a word count on Pages? On my PC, Microsoft Word 07 automatically has the word count in the bottom of the window.
Please help!In the inspector there is an automatic word count in the document section. All you need to do is select the info column and it should be there!

USB wireless adapter - interface name keeps changing
I have used different usb wireless (G) adapters with my 12" Powerbook G4.
Each was automatically assigned an interface name (BSD) such as en2, en4.
I recently updated to a Wireless N dongle (D-Link DWA140) which works great with my new Belkin Wireless N router.
I have had a few connection problems where the dongle was named as enNull.
After rebooting and re-entering the ip address via DHCP, I noticed that the same dongle has been renamed each time e.g First as en5 then en6, 7 and 8. It's now called en10
It works fine but is it possible to reset the name/number of this wireless adaptor using something like ifconfig in the shell Or some other way. I understand that en0 is built-in ethernet and en1 is Airport. I have 2 other dongles which are still identified as en 2 and en4. But my current dongle has an inflation problem and I would like to reset it if possible to a lower number.
Is this possible or am I mad to even consider it?
any help welcome.

That is very strange that PCI cards would keep changing names between reboots. Maybe you should investigate that to figure out what's going on. Check the dmesg and journalctl after each reboot and see what the interface is named as. Maybe that will give you some clues as to what "external" program is responsible in naming the interfaces. -
Here's a new one for me...
Starting with this latest version, when I burn a CD, it automatically marks the Play Count for those items at 1. Anyone else encounter this? Is there a fix?i've noticed that sometimes the play count does not increase for songs, and the only workaround i've seen that works is to do a second sync after the first one completes.

How to use SNMP to access interface counters for WAN port when not in bridged mode
Hi All,
Can't fault my timecapsule, however just struggling to get one little bit of functionality working. I'm keen to get access to the WAN port interface counter information via SNMP, so I can track total bandwidth/throughput & also volume.
I have no issue getting SNMP to work & can see the 2.4 & 5.0GHz network counters, also total number of WIFI clients, wlan0, wlan1 and bridge0 interfaces. Trouble is none of these are the WAN/external ethernet port.
I see that it is likely that I'm trying to find the vlan1 port, however from what I'm reading this may only be available when the device is running in a routed mode (I'm running in bridge mode).
Anyone able to suggest anything? Some cable modem you can turn off NAT.. and then use the TC in router mode.. or even use DMZ if the cable router allows that.
Have you ever looked at gargoyle router firmware and its ability to count and quota all clients connecting to internet service.. it is a simply fantastic firmware and can be loaded onto a router that costs $70-130 dollars.. it is 3rd party but very solid if you choose the right combo.
