Automatic Deployment not working on Activation

Hi Experts,
I am using CE 7.1 developer studio, and NWDI set up.
Please see the steps that i have mentioned below...
I have a track which is containing a single DC of type WebDynpro, This DC is containing one view with a textView UI element with the text property "Hello World"
I have followed the below sequence of steps...
1) Import the development confuguration (Track) from the SLD into developer studio using the User ID1. (This ID has NWDI.Administrator UME Role assigned, as well as Administrator UME role assigned.)
2) Sync / Create Project (This will create a project structure and get the Inactive source from the DTR to my Local Machine)
3) goto the webdynpro perspective edit the view and change the text property to "Hello World has Change...!"
4) the above step will result in Creation of an activity.
5) Now I Save the changes and build the DC. (Please note that I have just built the DC, not deployed it).
6) From the Development Infrastructure Perspective Checkin the activity that was created from "Open Activities" view.
7) From the "Activation View" activate the activity that was "checked in" as mentioned in the previous step.
8) Activation process gets completed successfully.
Now Ideally, if I run the application it should reflect the last modified changes.
that is it should show "Hello world has changed",
But unfortunately it's not, it is showing the non modified version "Hello World"
According to standard NWDI activation process...
when the changes are activited...following sequence of steps are carried out.
1) Store the Sources into "Inactive Workspace" in DTR.
2) DTR Sends build request to CBS.
3) CBS will collect new objects from Inactive workspace as well as existing objects from Active workspace and builds the Sources.
4) After the build is successful, CBS will deploy the archives to central J2EE system, and store the sources in Active Workspace.
Additional Information: Now if delete the track and load the same track again,
it brings the correct modified source code with "Hello world has changed...!"
In both sycn Active Source and Sync Inactive Sources
This means that modified sources are getting checked in properly into both the Active and Iactive workspace but not getting deployed on activation.
Please someone help me understand why automatic deployment is not working on Activation?

Hi there,
deployment in DEV and CONS works asynchronous. this means a request is not immediately deployed after the request is build. A successful build can although mean that there was a deployment error. So sometimes you jsut have to wait a couple of minutes for your changes to be deployed.
When creating a track or deleting a runtimesystem and reconfiguring it. NWDI tries to sync the track and the runtimesystem immediately.
So I would suggest to check this as follows:
- After the request finished successfully in CBS open CMS Gui and navigate to the DEV tier of your track in transport studio.
- there is a button "deployment" (second from the right) hit it...
- a window with the deployment details of the tier will open. here you can see if a queue is still pending. you can check when the DC was deployed last time. and you can initiate a deployment of the queue here to. But this will not always lead to a immediate deployment.
- Here you can check if there have been deployment erros (rc >4)
So here you can get some clues on what is going on. Usually deployment fails because NWDI cannot reach the  runtime system or the user/password is wrong. Yo can check if the system is accessible by nwdi by getting the dubstitotion parameters of the system. You can find the line: View/Edit Deployment Substitution Variables at he bottom of every systems overview. At the right of this line is a button. if you press it and some variables should be shown. Nwdi can access your system for deployment. If not in the upper left an error message will be shown.
Let us know what your results are
Have a good time

  • Disable Automatic Deployment not working

    Hi experts,
I have checked the checkbox 'Disable Automatic Deployment' checkbox in Development Runtime System in one existing Track.
But after import I am getting deployment notifications in the three logs in the Details view.
    Repository-import
    CBS-make
    SDM-Deployment-notification
Need your help urgently as I do not want this deployment to hamper any running application.
Can u pls guide me how can I make my import free of any deployment to the runtime system?
    Regards
    Arindam

    Hi,
can you please check the "SDM-Deployment-notification" ? I think it'll say something like "not needed" (due to the flag disable auto deployment). If so, then no deployment will take place.
    Best Regards,
    Ervin

    cor-el,
Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway.

  • Automatic Downloads not working in ios7

After updating to ios 7 automatic downloads not working. It is enabled in settings but new content purchased in iTunes store on MacBook or iMac not automatically downloading onto iPhone. Any idea why? I have checked and "Automatic Downloads" is turned on in Settings > iTunes & App Store...

I had the same problem with no automatic downloads of purchased Apps ...PLUS... I still recieved message "to use push notifications connect to itunes"
I found solution worked for me:
1- go to "Icloud keychain".  (Under settings----> Icloud).  go there and ENABLE it.  It will ask for passcode and so on.  so once enabled
2- restart your phone (normal power off)
3- reactivate imessage and facetime. (need a few minutes to reactivate)
    4- ALL WORKING  ;-)

  • My WiFi & Ethernet connection works but automatic is not working

The settings for my networking have gone kuh fluee (sp???) since I got up and running on my brand new MBP with 10.5.1 (and yes, I've installed all of the updates).
I have 3 locations set up (or I thought they were set up as they worked on my old PB):
    WiFi
    Ethernet
    and then there's AUTOMATIC
Both my WiFi and Ethernet work fine. I want the Mac to understand that if Ethernet is connected, go and use Ethernet; if no Ethernet, then use the WiFi. I thought this would work when the location is switched to AUTOMATIC. AUTOMATIC simply just can't seem to connect. It continues to show all lights green except for the NETWORK light. I restart the modem and router over and over and the Networking thing just keeps telling me to do that again. Ok - what am I NOT getting here. Again, note that both ethernet and WiFi connection as separate locations work; what is NOT working is AUTOMATIC and I want that to work so that the Mac "automatically" detects what is out there for me to connect and if Ethernet, it connects via Ethernet.
    Insight? Solutions? Advice???

The following is an excerpt from The Peachpit Learning Series for Leopard but I am sure it applies to Tiger and probably Panther as well. I have four computers at home, three with Leopard and one with Tiger. One Tiger machine is connected to my Airport Extreme via ethernet and my other desktop runs Leopard and also is connected via ether net. My two laptops are connected via Airport.
Open network preferences via System Preferences. You'll see the network window which should list your networks on the left had side of the page in the order of preferences what you might want to do and your individual computer is change that order of preferences to Ethernet first and Airport Second, that way if you are connected via ethernet it will connect that way. If you are not connected via ethernet it will look for the ethernet connection first and not seeing one, it will move on to Airport. You can change the order of preferences by clicking the activity button at the bottom of the window on the left that looks like a little cog wheel and then set service order.
I'm not 100 percent sure but by choosing automatic it either tells the system to do the above automatically when you open your browser or email to it means go to your wireless system of preference.
    Hope this helps.

  • Automatic Rotation Not Working On iPad 4th Gen iOS 8.1.2

So I recently got an iPad 4 and the automatic rotation is not working at all. I have done every troubleshooting possible including a restore of 8.1.1 and then upgrading to 8.1.2 hoping it would fix the problem and still nothing. Obviously rotation lock is off and I have tried toggling it back and forth through control panel and side switch along with doing multiple hard resets and it just won't automatically rotate at all.
I know my sensor isn't broken because if I change position with the device off and turn it back on it will display the correct orientation, but only if I turn the screen off. Games and other apps that use the gyroscope/accelerometer work fine, yet somehow my automatic rotation function is just broken.
Is anyone else experiencing this same issue? Since I know my sensor isn't broken I just don't understand why this is happening since it doesn't seem like a common problem after trying to find information on the topic.

    Try reset iPad.
Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

  • This.print(pp) with interactive type silent or automatic does not work  after upgrade acrobat reader 9 to acrobat reader 11

After an upgrade of acrobat reader 9 to acrobat reader 11 the automatic printing of a pdf. The pdf is opened, but the print does not happen. With acrobat reader 9 it works. But with acrobat reader 11 the printing does not happen.
I discovered when you specify pp.constants.interactionLevel.full it works on acrobat reader 11. But when you specify pp.constants.interactionLevel.silent or pp.constants.interactionLevel.automatic it does not work on acrobat reader 11. But with the full option we have a dialog  print box

  • Automatic payment not working. Why?

I recently changed my credit card information and it looks like the automatic payment is set up. When I go to my skype number information it shows the updated credit card number. However, I received a notice that my number was being shut down for non-payment. What are the exact steps needed to ensure that automatic payment is working the way it used to work?

Hi, Lakdiva, and welcome to the Community,
Please try this: when your Skype Number subscription actually expires, sign on to your account dashboard and see if a Reactivate button is waiting for you.  Otherwise, your Skype Number may renew by debiting your credit balance, as it did for me, after I added enough credit to cover the cost of renewal.
If not, please contact Skype Customer Service for assistance sorting this!

  • "Client" property set to "No", application deployment not working (issue with registering to MP?)

    Dear all,
We're running an SCCM 2012 SP1 environment. All users have a thin client and are running virtual desktop in our VDI environment. Thin clients are deployed via an SCCM task sequence.
Since a few months, software deployment (i.e. updated system drivers or application plug-ins) is not working to those thin clients. Upon investigating, I discovered the "Client" property for almost all thin client computer objects
in the SCCM console is set to"No". For the computer objects of the virtual desktops, this property is set to "Yes", which I think should be the case for all clients managed by the SCCM environment.
Also, I've discovered the ClientIDManagerStartup.log log file is showing the following errors for the thin clients:
    <![LOG[GetRegistrationState failed (0x8009000b)]LOG]!><time="07:00:05.474-60" date="01-13-2014" component="ClientIDManagerStartup" context="" type="3" thread="3580" file="ccmid.cpp:1698">

These errors seem to be occuring every few minutes to every few seconds for all of the thin clients where the "Client" property is set to "No". I found out reinstalling the SCCM client or removing the
smscfg.ini file solves the issue, but only temporarily as the problem returns the next day or after a few days.
How can I solve this issue?

  • Automatic Syndication not working

    Hi All,
I created a repository in sandbox server.(MDM Ver 7.1 SP06 ).Later it was updated back to SP05.I designed the table, ports ,and Remote system ... I gave the processing type for the Syndication to be Automatic and continuous time interval.Autosyndication was not working.Later restarted the MDSS server for sandbox and autosyndication was working fine.
Now i moved the repositort form Sandbox to development server( V7.1 SP05 ).Nothing changed but still syndication is not happening. If i open the syndicator ,use the same map and try to syndicate it is happening manually but not automatically.
I am not able to solve this. Please help me regarding this.Is this something to do with restarting of MDSS server for developement also.I checked with other team for autosuyndication and it is working fine.
    Thanks and Regards
    Nitin

    Nitin -
Check your Syndicator server if running, MDSS.
Check in mdss.ini file next parameters:
    GLOBAL
    Auto Syndication Task Enabled=True
    Auto Syndication Task Delay (seconds)=10
Also looking in the Syndicatior and see if records are greyed out or not, if they are greyed out then records are not selected for syndication
    Try Restart server
I will recommand you to see below link as well
    Re: Automatic Syndication
    Hope this helps.

Have you automated the import process in DEV 005 ?
Then the job will be running in the system.

  • Default azurewebsite continous deployment not working due to multiple solutions

I am using default build template for build and deployment to azure web site. it was working when I had only my website solution to compile. but now I have modified input to build template and added other solution files also to compile, now my deployment
step is not working. build log says
"More than one solution found. Continuous Deployment skipped."
I am using tfvcContinousDeploymentTemplate.12.xaml, in this template how can I have deployment, when I have multiple solutions for build.
    Thanks
    singhhome

    Hi singhhome,
Please confirm whether you mean "modified input to build template" as change to use another build process template.
When you use AzureContinuousDeployment.11.xaml, you can upgrade to a newer version of nuget.exe and check that version in with their solution and to see if it's a workaround. Or you can add the referenced assemblies into source control and check in.
There are detailed instructions on the NuGet.org site about the various ways to do package restore.
    http://docs.nuget.org/docs/reference/package-restore
    http://docs.nuget.org/docs/reference/Package-Restore-with-Team-Build
You can also set logging verbosity to "Diagnostic" as I mentioned above to see the detailed build log if there any issues occurred during the process. Another option is create a separate build definition for each solution to do the contrinuous
    build/deployment to Azure website.

  • All Automate features not working in Photoshop

I first noticed the problem when I tried to "Edit in Photoshop" from Lightroom 3.0. The photo would never launch in photoshop when I selected this feature. Then I tried exporting photos from Lightroom onto my desktop and opening them in photoshop (which worked), but then when i tried to create a panorama through the Automate feature or do the HDR option, nothing would happen. No error message, no swirling beach ball of death, just nothing.
I have since uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop (CS5) and updated it multiple times, still not working. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

That sounds like Lightroom has lost track of Photoshop.
Please ask in the Lightroom forum how to get Lightroom working again.
As for the automate features: are you missing any plugins, like Scripting Support?

  • Weblogic 6.0 sp2: War deployment not working !!

    Hi,
I'm using weblogic 6.0 sp2, and it seems as though the war deployment is not
working. My war consists of jsps, images, and under the WEB-INF/classes
directory, Struts classes (i.e. Form and Action classes). When I try to run
a jsp, i get the following error :
    <Jul 30, 2001 11:48:10 AM PDT> <Error> <HTTP>
    <[WebAppServletContext(4655498,ati
    nera)] Root cause of ServletException
javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Exception creating bean of class
    com.atinera.log
    in.web.LoginForm: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
    com.atinera.login.web.LoginF
    orm
But if you look in the war, that class is in there.
    What gives ?
    Thanks,
    Jamie

That's right - ActionServlet does Class.forName(actionClass) to load action
class, and this uses ClassLoader which loaded the current class (ActionServlet)
ClassLoaders always delegate to their parent before attempting to load
the class themselves, so it wasn't working until you moved struts.jar to your
    WEB-INF/lib.
BTW, Struts doc mentions this problem:
lib/struts.jar - This JAR file contains all of the Java classes included
in Struts. It should be copied into the WEB-INF/lib directory of your web
application. WARNING - If you are going to be hosting multiple Struts based
applications on the same servlet container, you will be tempted to place the
struts.jar file into the shared repository supported by your container. Be
advised that this will like cause you to encounter ClassNotFoundException
problems unless all of your application classes are stored in the shared
    repository.
    Jamie Tsao <[email protected]> wrote:
So I found the solution to this problem, but it doesn't really make sense to
    me.
I originally had struts.jar outside of the WAR file, but in my CLASSPATH.
Weblogic was able to load Strut's ActionServlet (controller), but when the
ActionServlet was looking for the LoginForm (which was inside the WAR), it
    couldn't find it.
I solved the problem by putting struts.jar inside the WAR (under
WEB-INF/lib) instead that other directory. Now it works cause apparently
ActionServlet is now in the same classloader as LoginForm, the classloader
    which loaded the WAR.
I'm confused because original way should have worked since the classloader
that loaded struts.jar from outside the war is the parent classloader for
the classloader that loaded the WAR. did that make any sense ?
    anyone know why ?
    thanks,
    jamie
