Concurrent manager for out of hours requests, but able to run adhoc as well

Hi,
I want to create a STD manager with a workshift that is overnight (e.g 6pm to 6am) to run some specific reports, so that when general users submit request, it goes into this maager to run later.
Howver, I also want to be able for certain users (about 2 or 3) to run these reports at any time during the day if required.
Can anyone help me with a solution to this running on R12.1.3?

Here the issue was concurrent program is completing with a warning like
Resubmission of request 75588551 has been cancelled.

Concurrent Manager for Oracle

I use 10.7SC, When I give any request say like Payables Transfer to General Ledger or other , I get an ID. But when I go and see the view my request. The Message displayed is Inactive No Manager. How do i resolve it.
Is there a way this ccan be resolved. Or something needs to be schecked at SYSADMIN Lelvel. (I use NT4 sp4 EnterPrise Edn)

Hi have tried and solved it with little i could figure out.
1. Ensure that Oracle ConcManager AppsDemo is started in WinNT Services folder.
2. SignOn as sysadmin and Naviage to Concurrent - Manager , activate the standard Manager. It is working i do not know this is a fool hardy method.

How do I get old version 3.6 back? Installed 4.o to find out Tiger OS X not able to run it. Where do I go now?

Running old version of OS X Tiger. I was prompted to update Firefox to 3.6. When I did there was also a Prompt to Update to 4.0 thought what the heck get the latest version. Installed it and it wouldn't run. I want to go back but can't find old version. I need Firefox! Safai can't do it all! Please Help

Could not activate Internal Concurrent Manager

Hi all,
I downloaded ebiz suite from edelivery and installed it on my stand alone xp system, giving a random domain name during installation (and editing the etc/hosts file before that). For some reason I couldn't activate ICM in windows services folder listed as OracleConcMgr_VISLocalhost. I manually tried to start the service by clicking on start, it starts up and stays there for 10 secs and then shuts it self down. I even tried starting the ICM by running 'adcmctl start apps/apps'. But it simply exits with a status 0, and it doesn't generate any log file in viscomn/admin/logs/vis_localhost.
The output for the above command:
Starting concurrent manager for....
adcmctl.cmd exiting with status 0
I've also tried cmclean.sql. Please help me in solving this issue as all my request are in 'no manager available' status. I even tried re installing the apps but it still gives me the same error.

It works!!!
Wierdly the tnsnames.ora file is located under F:\visora\8.0.6\NET80\ADMIN\VIS_localhost directory . I added the entries as you suggested and restarted the system. And that earlier error doesn't show up any more.

The patch completed succesfully but I am wondering why its is behaving abnormally. I have run cmclean.sql and even rebooted the machine but in vain.

Where to put Concurrent Manager?

Hello,
We are currently running our production EBS (11.5.10.2) as a 2-Tier system on 32 bit Red Hat Linux. We have Web, Forms, Discoverer running on one server and Concurrent Manager, Admin and Database running on another. We will be upgrading the database server to RAC and would like to change to 64 bit.
Also we will be running multiple app servers using shared appl top. Since we cannot leave the Concurrent Manager on the database server once it is 64 bit how to best decide where to put the Concurrent Manager?
I know a couple of options are:
1) Run the Concurrent Manager on a standalone server (no redundancy).
2) Run the Concurrent Manager on 2 standalone servers using Parallel Concurrent Processing (provide redundancy but increase costs/maintenance).
3) Run the Concurrent Manager on the same servers as the Web, Forms, Discoverer using shared appl top.
I'm leaning towards option 3 but would like to hear others opinions. Could we still use PCP in this scenario? Any reasons not to do # 3?

How many servers will you be running?I believe we have 4 total available for the Application Tier. They are fairly robust servers (HP DL-580 (4 CPU each) with 24 Gig of RAM).
I have not seen PCP with Shared APPL_TOP. If you are running multiple Web, Forms, Discoverer servers, it is a good option to run them with their own APPL_TOP and run PCP with hardware based load balancing. Can we just skip PCP and run the 4 servers with Shared APPL_TOP but include everything on the Shared APPL_TOP (Web, Forms, Discoverer, Concurrent Manager)?
I'm trying to do these upgrades in phases and I'm thinking maybe we can get 2 additional servers later and implement PCP then (keeping the 4 Apps servers for Web, Forms, Discoverer).

Widows XP - Concurrent Manager - Target node/queue unavailable!

Dear All,
Need help to run concurrent Manager, all services are up, started, but all request are inactive, no manager, I tried my best to solve this problem thru metalink, updating FND......, its activating and suddenly status changing to target node/queue unavailable.
Please give me some idea how to sort this problem, when intalling 11i there is some error came memory error and i cancelled, then it proceeded and completed installation.

There aren't messages in Concurrent Manager logfile.
I just recreated the service once again using adsvcm.cmd script.

It is Windows and I need to bounce everything when I need to solve this kind of issue !!!Yes, unfortunately this is how it goes. I do not like to maintain Oracle Apps on Windows especially when it comes to the CM!
I was getting next error message in Event Viewer for Application:
Error occured: StartICM:Logfile:F:\ORAEBS_APPS\inst\apps\EBSTEST_srvoracle05\logs\appl\conc\log\CM_EBSTEST_srvoracle05.log:The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. Error with Concurrent Manager

Hi,
I m newbie to oracle apps..Now i m facing an issue in the Councurrent Manager..The issue is
When submitting the program it being in Pending Normal state.
Diagnostics:-
The concurrent manager defined to process this request is not active in the current work shift. The request will not process within this work shift.
Contact your system administrator to verify that the concurrent manager work shifts are defined correctly.
All the Concurrent Manager Target Process having 0 value.
Internal Manger has 14 pending requests and CRM has 4 pending requests.

when i try to stop the Concurrent Manager i m getting error

Database connection could not be established. Either the database is down or the APPS credentials supplied are wrong.Are you passing the correct apps password (which is apps by default)?
Please also run cmclean.sql as per (Concurrent Processing - CMCLEAN.SQL - Non Destructive Script to Clean Concurrent Manager Tables [ID 134007.1]).
If you still have the same issue, please run ccml.sql script (Concurrent Processing - CCM.sql Diagnostic Script to Diagnose Common Concurrent Manager Issues [ID 171855.1]).

Is concurrent manager in db tier ?

find some note in metalink that concurrent manager server is in db tier, I thought they are in OAM.

The concurrent manager is one of the components of the application tier. Processes that run on the Concurrent Processing server are called concurrent requests. When you submit such a request, either through HTML-based or Forms-based Applications, a row is inserted into a database table specifying the program to be run. A concurrent manager then reads the applicable requests in the table, starts the associated concurrent program and starts processing this request.
I suggest you go through "Oracle® Applications Concepts Release 11i (11.5.10.2)" manual, Page 1-12 Concurrent Processing Server.

In the document 294932.1 Section 4 there are no pre-installation patches or update for OS RedHat LinuxAS4.
When I type echo $LD_ASSUME_KERNEL it doesn't display any value so do I need to set the LD_Assume_Kernal value manually.
If yes, please let me know the path and command to set the kernel value.

My MacBook Pro shut off three times yesterday after plugging my phone in but I managed to switch it back on each time. I left it to rest for about 20 hours and then today it Has been working fine all morning. Using indesign and Skype which usually slow it down anyway but it's been fine. Then I plugged my iPhone 4S into it and it just shut off again. But this time it won't switch back on. No idea why this has happened but I hadn't saved my work either. I'd not long plugged the charger in to it but now, it's still plugged in, but the light on it is very dim and is just flashing.
No idea what to do. Please help!

You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)
