Is there a way to make an Automatic Generating of Crystal Reports to PDF.

hi Joe,
you can look at crystal reports server as it has an ability to publish and distribute reports. one of the output formats is to pdf. there is also a trial here.
or you can look at a 3rd party product that does scheduled exports. there are lots of them. a good place to start to look is here.
or you can build your own solution using one of the sdks like the cr for visual studio sdk.

I would like to be able to automatically pass a parameter list to a single report, and have it automatically generate multiple reports (as saved pdf files), based on the parameter list.
Is this possible? If so, could someone point me to some documentation? Thanks.

What you probably need to do is generate each bio
individually with the
<cfdocument...> tag just the way you want them. And
then use some of
the advanced <cfpdf...> functionality that allows you
to append two or
more individual PDF's into a single large PDF.

but then you would have to store it into an application server directory as HTML - there is also a how to paper by the same author which you can use... which talks about email query results in HTML

Generate AWR Report automatically every day

Hi Friends,
I would like to generate AWR Report automatically every day. How do i do it.
The Start Time will be 00:00 of Previous day and the end Time will be : 00:00 of current day. The File format is html.
Currently i am using awrrpt.sql to generate report manually and i would like to achieve it automatically,I am not sure how to pass the values of start and end time (From which table i can get the values)?

You may use the below sql script , the sql script generates the AWR report for the duration of 2 days in HTML.
So you change
1) the where condition as per your requirement,
2) report name in sql script,
3) and convert it as shell or bat script based on your environment, and schedule it in your OS job scheduler / crontab.

Generate DB reports for many Schema's automatically.

I am using ORACLE DB 11g R1 & RHEL 5.
I have a DB server the MAIN SERVER in which i have many schema's and i have scheduled a crontab job to take a backup of each schema
on a daily basis. The same backup file (.dmp) is then imported to a BACKUP SERVER machine for the same schema name.
The bottom line is i am trying to keep a backup server ready with me with the data uptill the last day. So if the
main server goes down due to some reason the developers can connect to the backup server and continue working.
Meanwhile i can analyse and bring the main server up again.
I want an idea buy which i can keep both the server machine ( MAIN & BACKUP ) in the sync of the data and
i should be able to generate a report automatically every day which schema has been backedup & imported.
If they have failed then for what reason.
Please advice me some proper solution. If you have other ideas let me know.
I want a proper system which will keep the data of MAIN & BACKUP server the same and if the MAIN server goes down
it should be able to connect to BACKUP server and continue.

The same backup file (.dmp) is then imported to a BACKUP SERVER machine for the same schema name.Is it forcibly imported every day ? Why ? Why not import it only when you need to ?
OTOH, if the export and import processes are automated and self-running you have already resolved your "problem".
However, is it really a requirement to have an alternate (aka "BACKUP") Development server ? Is it a requirement to have this synchronised with the schema and data of the primary Development server as of the end of the day ? What does your development team lose if it is, say, a few days behind ? Can they not reapply their changes ? How many developers and how many daily changes put together justify the cost of this mechanism ?
(How about Production ? How is it protected ?)

Automate generating and sending reports

Hi All,
Is it possible to automate the following steps in BPC 7.0?
After uploading monthly actual SG&A to BPC...
1. Refresh a report, say C1, by individual function (CTO, Finance, Sales & etc)
2. Convert the above files into paste value format (maybe save the above reports in offline mode)
3. Automatic send each report to a respected functional head each month
If it's not possible in 7.0, is there an alternative? Like using BOBJ to access the BPC 7.0 db directly and formulate/format the reports in BOBJ?

I set up a distribution according to the documentation and also set up the appset parameters related to SMTP.
When I want to distribute my report, I get an error something like "Cannot get email address from SQL xxx\myuserid" (where xxx is the BPC server name).
The user myuserid has been entered with a correct email address and security. But the user is not a local user to the server xxx. The user has an email address at a different domain. Below is the user detail:
UserID: xyz\myuserid
User Name: John Doe
Email: myuserid at xyz dot com <rewrite to avoid the forum auto filter>
IM address: <blank>
Do you or anyone else know the cause and how to resolve this issue? Do I have configure something else?

As u said, while showing the output on screen isn't necessary.
For the 1st one, u set the system parameters..
MODE: bitmap (for pdf it should be bitmap).
Destype: File
Desname : give some name to the file in your local dir..
For the 2nd one, u have to configure ur local mailing system..
For eg: Microsoft Outlook..
it's enough if u configure ur local mailing system and then
give an option in the report calling form to send it to mail..
and set the Destype to Mail.

Generating hourly report from oracle database using sql developer .Help

I am working on SQL Developer 1.5.1, i need to prepare hourly record of the activity on the database, for that i have a sql query that gives me the report as per selected columns on hourly basis.I need to prepare 24 reports a day.
Each time i have to go to the query , change the date as per hours like form 22:06:2011 10:00:00 to 22:06:2011 11:00:00 and get the report and export it in excel.
I want to automate the script so that whenever i run the script , it just asks me the date and runs the script 24 times and fetch me the hourly report of whole day.
the query syntax is something like this

I need to create a fillable form and then generate a reports.

Hello everybody. I need to create a fillable form and then generate a report using numbers. You know, for example if you have customers, I need to be able to write the usual , name, last name, address, and some other details and then using a standard letter I would like the form to be able to populate these fields automatically in a standard pre formatted letter by our company and then be able to print it.
Any help to point me in the right direction I would appretiate very much.

This is acalled a mail merge and is solved using a combination of Numbers (or address book) and Pages. To get detailed help how to performa a mail merge start in Pages, then in the help menu type Mail Merge:

Generate a Report Dynamically without User Intervention and Output to XML

Here's the scenario for which I am trying to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a series of reports that the users generate from a UI by selecting the report, setting the values for a list of parameters, and then click a submit button. The report is generated in the UI for them to view. They can print it from here or export it to Excel.
They would like to be able to schedule a report to run daily without user intervention using a saved set of parameters. The system would run the report automatically and email it to a defined set of email addresses.
To do this, we need to have the report generated in a string or xml so a Java process can read it and email it.
I see that I can change a report's template to export:xml so I feel that it is possible. How can I export a report to XML without user intervention? Can the report template be changd dynamically at runtime? Ideally, I need some way to call this same report and have it output as a string data or xml to be used by a Java process that would store and generate the report for email.

From Program1 you are calling Program2, using submit syntax (inside Program1).
While using submit, if you have correctly filled up the selection screen of program2, then it will AUTOMATICALLY get executed, WITHOUT F8.
If there is any compulsary field in program 2, which does not get populated, then it will not run automatically, or unless some special code is written in program2.
If you do not want the output of Program2 on screen, then u can use
SUBMIT Program2 AND RETURN.
In that case, no selection screen (of program2) will appear and neither the output of program 2.

Generating a report for clients that are not registered

Hi - Hopefully someone can assist. We are looking to generate a report in SCCM 2012 that will tell us if a client is properly registered, and most recent scan.
I can't seem to find a generic report for this task, so does anyone know if one exists - or how to create a custom one?

what means "properly registered" in your eyes? To me, if it was able to communicate at all--heartbeat; that means it had to have registered. But maybe you have a different criterion.
So I think what you want is simply something like...

where the most recent heartbeat at the top; and boxes with no heartbeat reported will be null at the bottom. If you don't want to even "see" the boxes that have never reported a heartbeat successfully, then don't left join, use just Join
You could also use v_r_system_valid, instead of v_r_system. As you can tell by the name, _valid means that CM itself has determined those are valid clients; so that might be what you think of as "properly registered".
It all boils down to what means "properly registered" to you, and what you mean by "recent scan". is a recent scan a heartbeat? a software update scan? hardware inventory reported? and what means "recent". the sample above is
reporting on anything and everything regardless of date.
As for default reports, you're saying that the default reports in "Client Status" don't fit your criteria?
Standardize. Simplify. Automate.

& then begin & end snapshot Id & then eventually the sql*plus session get closed . I am unable find
why sql*plus session getting closed automatically.Please tell me How to run awrrpt.sql to generate AWR reports. Please guide.

                   My problem is that I want system automatically assign profit center to automatically generated line items.
                   Eg.
                         (Vat is @ 10%)
                                    Transaction                             Amount                            Profit Center

                          Vat                             Dr                    Rs.100/-
                          To Vendor                  Cr                                      Rs 1100/-
Here I have to assign Profit Center in VAT G/L by double clicking on it, in reality, system should automatically assign profit center to VAT G/L same as to purchase, because this vat amount belongs to same purchase G/L.

1. In which SAP version you are working ? Are you using SAP 4.7 or ECC 6.0. ?
2. If you are in ECC 6.0, have you activated New G/L ?
3. Segment reporting is happening with Profit Center is one of the scenario ?
Auto updation of Profit Center will depend upon these conditions. Accordingly one can provide you the solution.

When our system sends to the customer the report with account statements (as an attachment) the automatically generated text that he receives in the email is:
"Please respond to "K047472" "
but the text should be:
"Please respond to "(..here must be a certain email address we want the customer to respond)"
