Automatic refresh of web page

I would like to know about refreshing a page
automatically without the user interaction, (ie not to
use refersh button)

Hi,
You can do this,
<meta HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" content="10; url=example.jsp">
</meta>
the page will refresh every '10' seconds
Hope that helps.

Can I get a song to play automatically when my web page opens? iWeb 1.1.2

As long as you don't mind doing a little post publish editing of your .js files, it's fairly easy to do. You will find them in this path on your iDisk, using the Go menu in Finder:
    Go/iDisk/MyiDisk/Sites/iWeb/Nameofsitefolder/Page_filesFolder/Page.js
Open the .js files for that particular page on your iDisk with any text editor (I like Taco, and it's free) and make the following changes to the script code that controls your movie: (you will find the movie code near the top of the page in the .js file)
    Change autoplay="false" to autoplay="true"
    Change loop="false" to loop="true"
Changing controller value="true" to controller value="false" will remove the controller from the page entirely. Make these changes in both sets of tags, (object and embed).
Make the changes and just "Save". Clear your browser cache and you should see the changes take effect immediately. Bear in mind you will have to make this modification each time you republish your site. You can also save this modified .js file and replace the republished file with it, as long as no other changes were made to the page in iWeb.

  • Is there a way to automatically have a web page begin to scroll down?

Is there a way -- sort of an "autoplay" sort of way to have a web page begin to slowly scroll down to the bottom like a teleprompter automatically? I know this isn't technically iWeb but the site is created in iWeb and from that basis I'm sure I"ll have to edit the code somehow -- like is done when making autoplay movies and music.

Settings > iCloud > Photos > My Photo Steam > On.

  • When I first startup firefox I automatically get a web page displayed that I cannot exit from. I move the firefox page to another workspace to get rid of it. How do I prevent this webpage from loading ?

web page automatically loads up each time and the exist bottom is disabled on the screen.

Maybe your problem is caused by that particular add-on?
I use the Print/Print Preview add-on and have never had that happen. <br />https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/printprint-preview/

    Hi,
i wnat to display a page that shows the actual state of a process like (started, in work ...).
This should have an automatic refresh every 3 sec. without pressing a button or so.
I think, this should not be so complicated but I don't know a way.
    Thank you for your help

    Hi
Pop this in the HTML header of the page
<meta content="3" http-equiv="refresh">Bear in mind, this could be very annoying for the user!

  • Best small format that can play automatically in a web page

I did two videos that I want to play in web pages when the page opens. In m4v format they are 5.8 MB and 15.6 MB. Way too big for connections here. I've tried shrinking to 3gb format, and they are now a little small, but very clear. But when the web page comes up, a message comes up and asks what you want to open it with, then downloads the video in another window.
What is a good small format that plays automatically in the page?

if you highlight the movie in iWeb, and open inspector and go to the QT logo at the far right and click on it you can check "autoplay.

  • How do I disable automatic reload of web pages when forced quit is uaed?

I ran across a web site that was part of a scam. It pretended to be one of the security programs on my computer and reported that my Computer had malware (it was the malware). The only way out and not activate the scam program was to use the Windows Task Manager to kill Firefox.
When you do this the next time Firefox is started it tries to reload the last pages visited including the bad web site. How do I disable this feature? Or force Firefox to ask me which pages to load every time.
Automatic should not be allowed because of these scams. Fortunately I had a work around, I pulled the network cable when I restarted Firefox causing a different failure that could be cleared.

Set the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes] to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.
That will allow you to deselect the tab(s) that you do not want to reopen, but will allow to reopen the other tabs.
    See:

  • Automator: can I make it refresh a web page?

Sorry if this is off topic for this forum. I want to create an Automator script that will periodically refresh my Firefox (or Safari if need be) window. Playing with the program and searching online have not given me any real starting points. Can you direct me to a resource for programming this, or tell me if it is even possible? Thanks!

    I have experienced similar problems.
After a while you realize you got stuck, made a mistake, started on the wrong track.
Solution is simple : start over again and do it right.
And no, you cannot change your pages into blogpages.

  • Got new Firefox version yesterday and now I can't find the circular arrow to click to refresh a web page.

    I have Windows 7 64bit
    Longtime Firefox user
Yesterday I downloaded the latest Firefox browser
One of the things the old version had at the top of the page was a
circle arrow that I could click to refresh a website screen without
restarting the website and getting to that screen again.
It is probably still available if you could help me to find it.

Firefox 4 uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar.<br />
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button.<br />
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.<br />
Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.<br />

  • How do I force more frequent automatic refreshing of the page content displayed on my open tabs?

I always have a tab open displaying the Engadget homepage. New posts are added to this page every hour or so but I don't usually see them until I force a page refresh myself.

    Try:
