Automatic tab skip

In a PDF application I want to skip to the next field automatically, as soon as the field is full...... how can i make this happen on my application?

This only possible when maximum field length is set and you use a custom keystroke JavaScript.
A possible funciton to provide this feature for numeric fields is:

What if you tried something like the following example? This works using formCalc on the change event for the field the user is currently typing into:
    var fullCount = 3
    var currentString = xfa.event.newText
    if(Len(currentString) >= fullCount)then
        xfa.host.setFocus("TextField2")
    endif
Or, if you prefer javaScript:
    var fullCount = 3;
    var currentString = xfa.event.newText;
    if(currentString.length >= fullCount){
        xfa.host.setFocus("TextField2");
These work very smoothly.

Automatic tabbing at end of field in my dynpro

HI,
I want automatic tabbing at end of field for my dynpro field hours_start minutes_start hours_end minutes_end that are only of 2 char in dynpro.
E.g. i write 15102030 i want that automatically the dynpro field is
hours_start = 15
minutes_start = 10
hours_end = 20
minutes_end = 30
How can i move the cursor automatically when one of the field is completely filled?
I don't want set with ALT+F12 -> Option why I don't want change other programs.

for example it can place the cursor in the next field after pressing ENTER, but so it's better to press TAB directly
You're right Max. However, in that case I would go with the ENTER. We can e.g. check in the PBO the length of each field in sequence, with STRLEN, and then set the cursor on the first incomplete field... This way the user only has to press enter to cycle through those fields and will stay on the same field until completely filled.

How do you make tabbing skip a disabled field?

Hi, how do you make tabbing skip a disabled field?
I have a checkbox. If it's checked, one radio button in a radio button group is disabled. However, user can still tab into this disabled radio button. Once it's in there, it cannot tab out or use up & down arrow to move out of the disabled radio button. It just gets stuck there.
I tried setting access="protected". But it makes no difference.
Is there a way to exclude a disabled field from receiving a tab in LiveCycle Designer?

You may create your JTextField with the text i.e.
JTextField myTextField = new JTextField("text");
or anywhere in your program
myTextField.setText("text");

Global automatic tab

Hello!
Is there a way of defining automatic tab for ALL fields in a form?
To define automatic tabs on the fields, individualy, I'm using this FormCalc field:

Now, is there a way of defining automatic tabs for all fields based on the order defined in the Tab Order panel?

Thank you very much for the info. But actually I was looking for a script to place in one place and define all fields with automatic tab.
I agree 100% with you that it would be much better to use tab order, but the client does not accept this and wants a magic solution.
I suspected it was not possible, but... you know, I need to be sure before telling the client it cannot be done.

Having multiple issues with automate batch - skipping files, misplacing watermarks etc

I record the action exactly how I want it: editing, placing the watermarks (place embedded) putting them where I want them and re-sizing, save as (with jpg details), etc before I stop recording. When I do the Automate Batch with this action, the watermark is placed nearly completely off the image, it will go from file 1 to file 10 (skipping files 2-9) This worked fine on a previous Batch with a similar action. Nothing is working correctly for this one. I have also tried using "Place Embedded" with the same result. The files are NEF files being saved to JPG. After the it finishes the action, the "Save As" menu opens.

It is difficult to process different size image and add watermarks. You stated your currently processing RAW Nef files. RAW Files can have ACR setting saved for them which can size them differently. They can never have been processed with ACR so have not setting and will use your default setting for your camera. ACR also remembers your last used workflow setting which can change document size. In your Action I see you using Place which has some setting for the place transform. However I see no step before the the place to handle document size. So the place step will work differently on different size documents. The Place is followed by a move and then a second place and move. You then flatten and save which is not necessary Saving a jpeg from a layered document will save a flat jpeg. Quality 12 is also overkill.
This action may work well on a particular size document with the same aspect ratio and orientation but will fail on others.

[bug?] tapping the next tab after closing a tab skips to the third tab.

this is an annoying situation I encounter a lot.
steps to encounter this problem:
1. open 3 or more tabs, for this example they are called tab1, tab2, and tab3 in spot1, spot2, and spot3.
2. go to tab1 and close the tab switcher.
3. open the tab switcher, and close tab1 by sliding it sideways.
4. after tab2 jumps to spot1, tap it to switch to tab2.
5. observe the bug: firefox for android skips tab2 and instead opens tab3.
this happens to me a lot and I often don't notice it in time.
after this happens I close the tab in spot1 (tab2) thinking that was the tab I just viewed.

If you swipe to close the first tab, then tap the tab that is in that first slot, the original second tab appears for me. (While in list tab view)
If I swipe to the right to close the first tab then quickly select the 2nd tab that moves to the 1st sport I still see the new tab. Perhaps I am not quick enough. (This is also in list tab view with out tapping the tab switcher as I did in the video.)

Automate tabs in safari

i have just started looking at automator does anyone know how to open all my specified url into tabs rather then in separate web pages?

Automatic TAB into Window

I have the latest FF 4 , and after the upgrade i am expiriencing a weird problem . sometimes while scrolling the mouse wheel , the tab automatically moves as separate window .. , irrespective of the position of the scroll . All its seems random.

I'm having this same issue, though it happens a bit differently from the way it happens to naveen_reloaded. I can never seem to repeat it the same way every time, but what seems to happen is when I have a few tabs open, and middle-click to open another tab, this happens. But what's strange is that it will not always open into a new window until I click on the new tab. I know about dragging the tab down and it opening into a new window, and I am making sure not to do that. However, this is still happening.

Switching tabs causes an automatic tab reload in safari... how do I stop that?

I generally keep 20 or so tabs open in my safari window. A month or so back, suddenly, each time I click over to a diffent tab the tab reloads. How do I stop this? And is this problem making my computer (fan or hard drive?) wind up for long periods of time? Sounds like a little jet engine about to overload.

Yes. With that many tabs open, the CPU has to work that much harder and in turn the fans run more often. If possible, reduce the amount of tabs you have open simultaneouslly.
For the tabs reloading issue...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
If that doesn't help, back to the menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 boxes, click Reset.
If that didn't help, go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

Helps when you post to tell us which Mac OS X you have installed and which version of Safari. v10.5.2 is outdated.

Make switching apps (Cmd-Tab) skip hidden apps?

Prior to using Mac OS X 10.8, I used 10.6.8. In that version of the OS, and probably all the previous ones, I was used to hidden apps being moved to the right end of the apps list used by Cmd-Tab when switching from one app to another. When hidden apps were moved to the end, they were less likely to be selected and unhidden. It also meant that after an app was hidden and moved to the end of the list, a simple press of Cmd-Tab to switch to the previous app would not select the hidden one (unless it was one of only two apps running).
However, in 10.8, hidden apps aren't shifted to the end of the list. Therefore, hiding an app, followed by a simple press of Cmd-Tab will make the just-hidden app reappear, even if there are several apps running.
Is there some way to get the Mac OS X 10.6 functionality back that moves hidden apps to the end of the list?
That is, if the apps list currently contains:
A B C D
"A" is the current app. If I hide that app, "B" becomes active and "A" should move to the end of the list:
B C D A
While app "B" is active, pressing Cmd-Tab will switch to app "C".

Please bring this functionality back! If I hide an app it's because I want to completely remove it from thought and view. I would close instead if I didn't want to receive notifications from it or for it to continue playing music, etc. I can't tell you how many times I've hidden an app just to accidentally cmd+tab back to it a minute later. The same goes for minimized apps when all windows are minimized. If there are no windows to cmd+tab to it should go to the end of the list.

[Firefox + GNOME 3] Problem: Automatic "Tabbing" through all links

let me first say 'hi': My name is Bernhard, and I am new here in the forums as well as quite new to arch.
I had arch on my htpc installed, and recently made the transition to arch on my desktop PC as well.
Both systems run GNOME3 as a WM.
However, on the Desktop I have a problem with firefox which seems to appear only under GNOME 3 (it does not, for instance, appear under XFCE4).
My Problem: I have this very strange Bug, which drives me mad, as it renders Firefox and its derivatives completely unusable:
Whenever I open a website, the "main window" get's focus (i.e. the address bar loses focus) and Firefox starts "tabbing" / "scrolling" through the links, in the very same way as if I have the TAB key pressed.
My current version of FF is 27.0.1 from the arch repos.
I have downgraded FF, used older, newer and alternate versions, disabled all add-ons but the problem still persists.
I have purged it and removed all profiles, created new profiles etc. but nothing helps.
When I start FF from the console, I get the following errors:

Sometimes FF also gets unresponsive, with the console output repeating the following errors all over again:

** (firefox:24891): CRITICAL **: atk_object_get_index_in_parent: assertion 'ATK_OBJECT (accessible)' failed

The problem does not appear for any other application.
Do you have any idea what could cause that behaviour?
Is there a way to see which keystrokes are being sent to FF, such that I can see if 'something' is pressing TAB all the time?
Do you have any more ideas on how I could gather more information to what is actually happening?

I've searched for the errors/ warnings you got , lots of people get them also.
Haven't found others that get behaviour like you though.

I assume you also tried starting firefox in safe mode ?
It think it is worth it to create a fresh testuser on your system, to make sure both firefox and gnome run with their default settings and see if that changes anything.
The latest release of gnome, 3.12 , is available in [gnome-unstable] repo now and you could try it.
Given that you are working on a thesis however, i'm inclined to advise to wait trying that until you got that taken care of.

IPod automatically pausing/skipping

Since a couple of weeks, my iPod Classic (2009 version) has been randomly pausing and skipping songs, even when locked.
I've tried different headphones, but that didn't solve the problem. Resetting the iPod only helped for a couple of minutes and a full restore with iTunes also only briefly helped. The iPod was even sent to Apple for repair (still have warranty), but there a full restore was done and so the problem wasn't found.
Anyone have any suggestions? Because it's really driving me crazy. I can't even properly listen to a single song.

Are you sure that you're not clicking the Play/Pause button acciedntally, which is causing the iPod to pause while playing a song?
In that case, all you need to do is turn on the "Hold" switch (located on the top of your iPod); this prevents any clicking and contact with the clickwheel to take affect, and basically inactivates the buttons.
If that still doesn't work, and your iPod seems to be spontaneously doing this, try resetting it:
Press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for about 5-10 seconds.
You might need to try this several times. Also, try connecting your iPod to your computer's USB port while resetting, too.

In case of multi text field how can I set automaticta tab? I think I have to set script for individuals field and also a common script but how can I insert common script?

I am not sure I follow. The code below will take a string, break it into two pieces and then put the two pieces together with a horizontal tab in the middle.

No longer able to tab to all items in event Info dialog

When creating a new event, I used to hit Command-I to bring up the event info dialog. Then I would tab to each item to change it. This would include the "all-day" checkbox and the "calendar" popup. I would then use the space bar to check/uncheck the all-day checkbox and to pop open the calendar popup and use the arrow keys to scroll up/down the list of calendars. I can no longer do this in the Leopard version of iCal (3.0)! Tabbing skips the above-mentioned items. Please bring this functionality back!

Not sure what to say...i just did it again on machines with Tiger and another one with Leopard. Both work quite similarly with one small exception- the drawer is replaced by the popup.
This is what I did on Tiger
-double clicked an open time slot to create a new event
-In Tiger if the drawer was closed, then I had to open it so that I could tab
-If the drawer was open when creating the event, then I could just start tabbing
-Space bar toggles values of each check box or opens up the list box at which point I can use arrows
and Leopard:
-Double click an open time slot and an event appears
-Double click it again and the pop-up window appears
-then started tabbing through each item in the drawer(including the All-day and calendar items)
-Space bar toggles values of each check box or opens up the list box at which point I can use arrows
How did you install Leopard? Upgrade? Archive and Install? or Erase and Install?
