Automatically Pulling Data From Web Into Spreadsheet

I would like to pull specific data that changes constantly into my spreadsheet from the web.
Specifically stock prices, price of gold etc.
Is there anyway to do this automatically or do I have to reenter the data manually each time I load the spreadsheet?

There are some ways to do this using a script by Yvan. Without scripts this is not possible.

Pulling data from oracle into sql server 2005

hi,
these days i am working on sql server 2005 on windows server 2008 64 bit.
and oracle 10g on 32 bit unix.
my problem is that when i am pulling data from oracle into sql server it shows me about *500-700 entries less*.
why this is happening? is it because 32 bit to 64bit? or is it because of different os?

are you using snapshot or replication from MSSQL? I am doing the same thing, hope to share your experience.
I am using import/export from MGT studio and pull some data from Oracle database, I am working on how to update the changes on these tables pulled from Oracle.

Is it possible to pull data from any web appication or web servers to SAP R/3 using BAPI.
If yes what needs to be done.

Pulling data from crosstab into main report

Hello
I want to pull some data from crosstab into main report and show it in same row.
Activity date will always be today date. Loadnum is a uniq id number, carriercode also has uniq id.
In one row i have load,activity date, carrier code etc . I need to add a field which will show count all loads before today made by carrier code. Right now i added a crosstab which is counting loads made by carrier code. Is there a chance to pull/get the data/field from crosstab into the main report?

Where is the crosstab located?
You can do this without trying to get the count from the crosstab.
1) Group on the CarrierCode field
2) Go to Insert > Summary > Choose the field you used under 'Summarized Fields' in the Crosstab > Place this summary on the Group Footer 1
3) Suppress the details section and move all fields to the Group Footer.

Urgent How can I pull data from Essbase into BW 3.5

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me the extraction mechanism to extract data from Essbase (Hyperion Sales cube) into BW 3.5. Is it possible to extract data using DB connect. As far as I know it cannot be used for BW 3.1C but what about 3.5. Any links or information is greatly appreciated.

Your requirement is a huge activity with multiple tasks which can be done in multiple ways.
Some basic points:
1. You can read data from your Third party application using
a. Native SQL or
b. a middleware as PI or
c. using connectors based on the platform of the Third party application (VB, .NET, etc.)
2. Data can be sent to portal using
a. Middleware as PI or
b. Creating RFC's
c. BAPI's.

Automated process to pull data from a web page without using VS and PS.

I'm looking at finding a solution to pull data from an external web page and creating a list. I'm looking for a NON-POWERSHELL AND NON-VISUAL STUDIO solution. I am open to using InfoPath Designer.
There exists a custom, non-SharePoint page built for us which has raw data. We've already created a custom list to match the data and now need to come up with a solution to automatically update the data. In this particular scenario, power shell and visual
studio cannot be used.

Why would you cripple yourself and restrict PowerShell at the very least which has perfect functionality for doing exactly that.
I doubt you could use the InfoPath data sources to pull the raw data in, re-map it and save to SharePoint without resorting to some sort of coding within InfoPath.

Pull data from a table in HTML format from external URL into a Servlet

How do I pull data from existing website html table into a Servlet?
I will need to pull the data into a servlet. So, the servelet will need to go to the URL and get the data and save them as variables.
I know I will need an array to store the data. I just dont know how to call the URL and have the servelet search the site for the <table> </table>.
I will later use this to save to a database.

Maybe give us more details about what exactly You'd like to achieve. I guess that there might be better solutions to the problem.

Hi Arun,
You have to do the following:
1. Create an entry in Trxn DBCA for SQL Server in SAP, you are creating a database connection for the SQL server in SAP.
2. You use this connection, and write Native SQL stmnts...between EXECSQL...ENDEXEC to fetch the data..and then normal ABAP statements to put that data into your ztable.

Data from CRM to BW is divided into diiferant Data sources.
First need to find data source name.
Use the following seps
First of all, activate the CRM DSs by scenario:
1) Activate the application component hierarchy (tcode RSA9). Changes made to the application component hierarchy in the CRM system can be transferred to the BW using the "Edit Application Component Hierarchy" (SBIW - Postprocessing of DataSources).
SAP Note 434886 must be implemented in CRM 3.0 before the application component hierarchy is activated.
2) Activate the Business Content DataSources (tcode RSA5).
Select/enter the application component and choose Execute (F8).
To compare the shipped and active versions, choose the 'Select Delta' pushbutton. If there is no active version of the DataSource, it is selected automatically.
To activate the shipped version, choose the 'Transfer DataSources' pushbutton.
3) Management of the versions of the BW-Adapter metadata (tcode BWA5). All DataSources are displayed that are managed by the BW Adapter.
As in transaction RSA5 (Service API Metadata Activation), the 'Select Delta' function can be used to select the inactive DataSources or compare shipped and active versions.
You can also go directly to the screen for maintaining DataSources that are managed by the BW Adapter.
The 'Compare Version' function makes a detailed comparison of the shipped and active versions.
All BW-Adapter metadata is considered when versions are compared:
Header information (Table SMOXHEAD)
Mapping information (Table SMOXRELP)
Global selection conditions (Table SMOXGSEL)
Attribute key fields (Table SMOXAFLD)
It is depends if you want to use in BW some ready made (Business Content) data analysis models.If so, you need to find your data source in RSA5 in CRM and activate it. rsa2 for generic datasource
BWA5 i think we use this Tcode after RSA5 activation additionally.
yes(incase of delta)
BWA7 do we have to use this tcode along with BWA1 for standard datasources also or else only for generic datasource.
irrespective of the type of dtasource,use it if you want to load delta(you need to delta enable the datasource here)
So we don't need to put the code as we traditionally do it for R/3 , if we just mapp the fields that would bring the data for these fields.

CRm enhancement:
1. Enhance Extract Structure with the required fields. (Create & include an append structure to the extract structure via transaction RSA6).
2.a) Release the fields of the append for usage. ( To do this, double click on the Datasource and remove the flags in the column 'Hide Field' for all fields of Append).
2.b) If the new fields cannot be seen in the extract structure of the transaction BWA1 then change and save the datasource, and then activate it in RSA6.
3. Define your mappings in BADI (CRM_BWA_MFLOW) to fill these fields.
Goto SPRO . Follow the path ->SAP Implementation guide ->Implementation with other mySAP components ->Data transfer to the Business Information Warehouse-> Settings for the application specific datasources (CRM)->Settings for BW adapter-> Badi :BW adapter :Enhancement of datasources in messaging flow.
4. Replicate the new Datasource to BW.
5. Expand the Communication Structure in BW.
6. Maintain transfer Rules for the new Datasource.
7. Activate the trasfer rules and perform the upload.

Import Data From Excel Into PDF

I have made a PDF in Acrobat 9 that has form fields in it, such as Last Name, First Name, Social Security Number, Address, Birth Date, Email, etc. I want to import data from an Excel Spreadsheet into these form fields. I have Excel 2010 and created an .XML file that includes this information. I went back to my PDF file and clicked on Forms, Manage Form Data, Import Data, browsed and selected my .XML file and nothing happens. I am at a loss and not sure what or where to go from here. Any input would be very helpful at this point.

The XML structure used by Acrobat is not the same as used by Excel.
You can try exporting your spreadsheet as a CSV file and then import it
that file in Acrobat. If the field names match the column names, it should
work.

UNIQUE Problem in pulling DATA from DATA base table to internal table

I am new to ABAP. I have a very basic question but looks a quite puzzling one to me. Hemnce I am posting it here.
I am facing an unique problem in pulling data from database table and populating that data into internal table for further use.
The data in the database table "Zlt_mita" with fields M1 (Employee Name, Type: Char20) and M2 (Employee Code, Type Char7) are:

My Code:
1) When I try to pull data from Dbase table by taking M2 as parameter.
     This code is succcessful and I am able to populate data in internal table it_dat.
TYPES: Begin Of ty_DAT,

                 M2   TYPE ZLT_mita-M2,
             END OF ty_DAT.
DATA: it_dat        TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF ty_dat with header line,

Hi Chandan ,
Database fetch is case sensitive ,So u need to give exact format in where condition.
Make your parameter and database in same case so that you need not worry about case sensitivity .
Check the lowecase check box in the domain .
Then declare your parameter
PARAMETERS:
P_Mita
TYPE   ZLT_Mita-M1 LOWER CASE .
You can do the vice versa also by unchecking lowercase and giving Upper case instead of lower in parameter declartion .

Step#1: In SAP With the help of ABAP program update data into a table.
Step#2: In regular interval pull data from SAP table to BPC staging tables in SQL server.
Step#3: Run import data manager package to update FACT tables from BPC staging tables on demand.
This is the best way and best approach to pull data from SAP to BPC.

Is BW able to pull data from R3 by XI

Hi everybody:
I'd like to use XI to integrate BW, R3 and other system. I read serveral documents. I can only find documents with XI you can only push data into BW. Does that mean bw system is not able to pull the data through XI?
If I use bw connects R3 directly, I can connect to R3 in Source Systems easliy.
If I use XI, I find I have to reconstruct all manually. Maybe can not use any predefined things in BW.
My scenario is that bw pulls data from R3 periodically. In that case, I think direct connecting BW and R3 is better. XI is not a good way to do that, is it?

The traditional method to pull data from R3 to BW is to define a source system. Then follow the steps to establish ETL. What I need to do is to create ABAP connection in sm59. That's easy. We has already use that method to connect BW and R3. Now, I'd like to connect BW and R3 by XI. In all the document about BW and XI integration, I find the traditional method is no long used. I have to define every data structure and the connection method comes to push data into BW.
The original way is to define a data source and copy that data source to BW. I dont know whether I can create a ABAP connection between BW and R3 by XI. If I cant create that kind of connection by XI, I think the traditional way is not support by XI. So that it is a big task to connect bw and R3 by XI.
