Automatically start SQL Agent service after SQL Server service fails and starts.

Hi!
I have SQL Server 2008 R2 with two main services - SQL Server and SQL Agent.
I'll try to describe my situation. It happens very occasionally, but sometimes SQL Server service terminates unexpectedly. It's my log:

As you can see, SQL Server service terminates unexpectedly. Then SQL Agent service tries to start SQL Server service. After unsuccessfully attempts to start SQL Server service, SQL Agent service stops itself. I have the option setting in SQL Server
service to start itself after unexpectedly stop within 2 minutes and it is works well. But I have to start my SQL Agent service after this manually. Unfortunately, I can't investigate the reason of my SQL Server stops unexpectedly and in this case I just want
to make the settings to start both of my services SQL Server and SQL Agent automatically after this. How can I set up this? How can I make my SQL Agent service starts after SQL Server service?

SQL server agent service depends on SQL server service so unless SQL server service comes online agent will not come online so agent is depended on SQL server not the other wise.
Now is your server 2008 R2 patched to latest service pack (SP2).If not please upgrade it to latest SP.Some fixes are there in Sp which will subside this issue.Can you paste output of
select @@version

Did you checked sql server errorlog and windows event log completely.Please do so and paste if you find some more info

Just thinking if you can try to Reparing the Native Client setup and see if it works.
Also if SQL Server Agent account is a domain account (and not as of SQL Server Engine) then try to check if it has below permissions (via Local Policies of the server) also does it has Local Machine Admin permission:
Act as part of the operating system
Adjust memory quotas for a process
Bypass traverse checking
Log on as a batch job
Log on as a service
Replace a process level token

Issue With Business Objects Installation-STW00213 The Central Management Server has failed to start.

Hi,
I am in the process of installing Business Objects XI 3.1 in one of our server. While installing I am getting the error 'The Central Management Server has failed to start. Press 'retry' to attempt to start it again or 'cancel' to skip any actions dependendent on the Central Management Server. STW00213.'
I have tried re-installing the BO, and also tried installing without giving admin password. But it doesn't work. And also I ahve tried giving the passwords of database and CMS Admin without Sepcia Characters. But it also doesn't work.
If I cancel and install the BO, Server Intelligence Agent is not available in Central Management Server.
Could anyone help on this issue?

Hi Prakadesh,
Try these steps.
1. Stop and disable the service of current SIA. You can do it from start-->run services.msc. Double click the SIA service and change the status to disable.
2. Login into sqlplus and drop all the CMS tables.
3. Create a new SIA pointing to Oracle from the CCM.
4. Start the new SIA and check if all services come up and you are able to login into Manager servers.
If this does not work, check the event viewer for error messages.

Sorry I do not know what the problem may be. 
If no-one comes up with better ideas of what causes this then my questions and suggestions:
What do you mean by an infinite loop ? 
The page loads and then goes blank. What exactly happens next, does the page fully load and fully display again before going blank, and repeat this cycle endlessly in the same tab.
You do say the problem persisted in safe-mode and you had looked at the basic troubleshooting article. Buy that you can stop the problem by disabling javascript.
* did you disable all plugins - and did you still get the problem then ?
As you mention disabling javascript stops the problem, have you tried with Java script enabled but

* load images automatically OFF
* advanced options - ALL OFF What happens do you get the problem then or not.
While on this firefox site if I look at the error console Ctrl+Sift+J or Tools -> Error console If I clear the console content and reload the webpage the error console shows only a couple of messages. YouTube home page give a lot of yellow triangle warnings about 200, but no red warnings, do you get red warnings.
You could also try on the problem sites eg YouTube changing the permissions with tools -> Page Info | Permissions
Did you try the Basic Troubeshooting suggestion of making a new profile. (Heeding the warning not to delete settings, otherwise you loose all bookmarks etc) did that help ?

Admin Server 4 fails to start up with new Internet Protocol (IP) address

By default, the Netscape Admin Server 4.x uses the Internet Protocol (IP)
address that was entered in its configuration at the time the server was
installed. However, if a system administrator decides to change the IP address,
the server will fail to start. 

The following is an example of the error message:

Hi Laurent,
although I was given the advice earlier that I should simply take the machine back to the shop, or call the help centre, I ended up just praying that it would be OK. A couple of days after I posted the message I think there was an update to download and install, just a regular one from Apple from the Software Update option for the operating system or it may have been one for Final Cut Pro X, and once it installed I never had the problem again, so my prayers were answered.
It was pretty scary at the time because I thought it must be some hardware malfunction, but because it was resolved through an update it suggested it was a software issue. Hopefully it is the same with you.
I'm now running 10.7.2 and have had no recurrence of the problem in many months, thankfully.
It might have nothing to do with it, but the only other two things that may have somehow caused errors in the system startup (and I doubt these will be "unrelated" to people who know how computers work better than I do, but I feel I should mention them just in case), but I also updated Final Cut Pro X from a glitchy version to version 10.0.2 around the same time, and I also had an application installed which didn't function correctly in OS10.7 called PowerController (a simple app that can start up the computer at a set time and play music from iTunes as an alarm clock) and it was in the group of apps that were set to start at the starting up of the computer.
Anyway, I hope your problem is resolved as easily. Pray about it too!

My name is John and I've a small 10g report configuration issue which I would like to share and, hopefully, some of you might already have come across it and able to assist and guide me through it.
First, I've installed Oracle Developer Suite 10g 10.1.2.0.2 together with Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 and Oracle Forms Developer 10.1.2.0.2 onto a 32bit Window 2000 Professional machine.
I've tried to run the following URL which test for the servlet connectivity and it returns fine with all the valid reports servlet commands page.
http://myhostname:8889/reports/rwservlet
However, as I've tried to run the 'test.rdf' report using the following link:
http://myhostname:8889/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=PDF&report=test.rdf&userid=user/pass@host
And it returns the following error on the browser:

Thanks for your reply and here is the output of the rwEng-0.trc file. I could not find anything "interesting" as you mentioned. Please let me know if you find anything missing in there. Also, currently there is only one network printer setup on the machine. Can you please elaborate on the printer bit as I'm unsure of what to troubleshoot. Also, I forgot to inform you that I have a previous version of Developer 2000 Form and Report installed prior to the 10g Developer Suite installation. Does it ring a bell to any other problem? I have installed oracle forms and reports 11gR2 on Windows 7 Professional 64bit (and configured in development mode), the forms are working fine but when i run a report i get this message

I was trying to add a new destination:

I couldn't make it work , so I commented my changes.
In fact, I should have gone back to a backup file , as weblogic seemed to have changed the file itself!! (attributes of the xml tags were in different order, and more things ...) but just undoing what I have done did the trick.
This file seems to be quite picky, I left this tag uncommented

ITunes would not start... I got error: "applcation failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the appliacation may fix the problem." When I tried reinstalling it failed.

1. Apple has posted their solution here: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows- Unable to install or open - MSVCR80 issue.
2. If the Apple article does not fully resolve the problem for you, then try Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - MSVCR80.

My Ipod would not sync to the itunes at all, Help? Itunes shows waiting for sync to start. then get a message saying that it failed to start. I restored the ipod but the problem still occured.

XE service lost after windows server 2003 restart - must start repair

I have a problem with Oracle XE 10g on Windows 2003 SP2.
Installation went fine, I could use database, go to home page, add tables, views, functions etc.., link database to sql server and query tables from several sql several sql servers on the network etc.
In general everything was fine, but...

There is no sign of XE, XEXBD nor XE_XPT service.
I restarted installation and performed repair and everything went back to normal.
After repair

After repair all is good but I must not restart server.
If I do this the story repeats itself.
No XE, XEXBD etc services, no access to database nor to homepage.
Starting install/repair - everything works. After restart same story again....
I could not find the way to aviod constant repair after restart.
Is there any way out of this?

But the problem persist.
The lsnrctl dont recognise the XE service. The OracleServiceXE is up and running.

Migration of sql agent jobs in SQL 2014 AlwaysON

Hi All,
We are in process of implementing AG in SQL 2014. I am facing issues while checking jobs.
I have created the jobs on both nodes. However, I want the jobs to be executed only on primary.
For this, I started introducing a new step inside the sql agent job which will be my 1st step which checks whether it is Primary or not.
If not primary, I want the job to quit with Success else I want to proceed to next step as it is Primary.
But i wasn't able to adjust the Advanced option of 1st step where i am checking whether isPrimary or not. Can we adjust the advanced options of setting @on_success_step_id programmatically in 1st step itself... or Is there a better way to do this.
If anyone share that piece of logic would be a great help.

This works fine. Thank you. But it is changing the behavior of the job.
Lets say for example I have node-a n node-b.
for eg: if the job is started at step1 on secondary(i.e. node-b) and we are checking if primary or not.if not primary , then we are the above action i..e

At this stage , step1 options are changed i.e OnSuccess of step1 -> it is changed to "quit with a success".
Doing so, there is a problem. at this now lets say failover happened, the job now started on node-B which is primary now, and now the options are wrongly set for step1 which is OnSuccess it has to "go to next step" but it is quiting
with success. In GUI it shows below warning

Is this the intended behavior?
Does it makes sense ??
