Automating an Export

Does anyway know a way that I would be able to automate a query being exported to a csv or xls file without having to manually select the export function?

I tried to do this using the macro recording/playback functionality but couldn't get it to work - have raised this in the following thread...
Macro Record and Macro Play functionality is in SQL Developer

  • Errant Automated SQL Export can't be stopped thru management portal

    Because of a
problem exporting v12 Azure SQL databases I had to copy my existing database, drop the old one copy the copy again to get the old database name again.
And now the new problem begins: Azure tries to create a backup for the old and non-existing database and sends me hundrets of error emails. As far as I can see there is no way to cancel the errant export through Azure web interface or power shell.
The error message sent by mail is:
Automated SQL Export failed for <server>:<database> at 13.03.2015 17:44:10. The temporary database copy was made, but this copy could not be exported to the .bacpac file.
There was a issue like that before but regarding to
this Post it should be fixed.
I also created a posting regarding this issue
    here.
I'm pretty sure that the reason is that I've deleted the database (and created a new one with the same name just a couple of minutes later) and the regarding backup job was not deleted.
But I have no Idea how to fix this.

  • Automator for Exporting Spotlight Comments?

    Hello,
I have around 700 historic photos that have been digitized. All the photo details (dates, etc.) were entered into the Spotlight Comments field under Get Info. Unfortunately, none of the comments appear when I open the photos in Adobe Bridge CS4. Is there an easy solution (perhaps an Automator script) to export the Spotlight Comments and use them elsewhere?
    Thank you,
    Brian

    Brian
If I read you right, what you are trying to do is grab Finder metadata and convert it to photo metadata. Specifically, convert spotlight comments to Exif and IPTC - which is what a Photo app will need.
You can't do this with Automator. The Automator dictionary has ways to set Spotlight Comments but I can see no way to get them. Further the dictionary has the ability to write to the IPTC data only of images in Aperture, not in the Finder or iPhoto.
You might do better with that question on the Automator forum here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1261
Have you tried the Applescript that was suggested when you posted the query last?
As your target are file managed by Bridge, give the Adobe forums a go too.
However, you may run into another issue here and that is that most scanners (as I presume this is how the photos were digitised) do not create Exif and IPTC data for scanned images. It may not be possible to do what you want to do.

  • Need help automating movies export using QuickTime Pro 7.4

I would like to convert several movies (.mov) to .3gp and .mp4 for mobile phones. I found some sample code here to accomplish the automation process:
    http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/QuickTime/idxQuickTimeforWindows-date.html #doclist
I built the sample QTControlCommandLine which is a command line program to convert a file from one format to another. When I use this program to convert a .mov file, there's no audio in the resulting .3gp (or .mp4); however when I manually convert the file (i.e. start QuickTime, load the .mov file and then export to .3gp), the resulting file is fine, with audio. I looked at the resulting files from both processes (using QT's view movie properties), and sure enough the manual process produces a file WITH an audio track, while the automated (COM) process produces one WITHOUT an audio track.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Is there some simple flag that the sample program failed to toggle to allow audio to be exported? I appreciate any leads to solve this issue.

Found my own answer. It is a licensing issue as indicated here:

  • Automator for exporting

I don't get it -- I've watched lots of tutorials that show me how to rename my photos, but how do I use automator to render a portion of a timeline into a 'iPod video and iPhone 640x480.m4v' file?
Instead of choosing file>export using compressor and then selecting apple devices then the iPod video and iPhone 640x480 option - select, select, can't automator make that happen for me?

sure it can ... just do it once whilst recording your actions with the "watch me do" facility

or rather than doing all that select select business why not just save the presets in compressor droplets

  • Automator quicktime export

Hi, I'm trying to build an Automator Service that enables me to right click a movie and do the equivalent of 'save as' that movie to the 'HD 720p' format in Quicktime X.
I've got to the stage where using the 'Export Movies' preset in Automator it will export to Quicktime but there are limited options as to what you can specify and that preset doesn't seem to offer as small file sizes as the 720p option does.
    Anyone have any tips?
    Thanks.

I am having the same problem. Do you know if there is a way to switch back to QT 7.5.5 until the action is updated?

    Hi,
I think Tcode RSCRM_BAPI can help you to save in CSV format in application server from ur query.make sure you dont have any free characteristics in ur query.give it a try and lets know.If you are looking for procedure Goto TCode RSCRM_BAPI and select ur query or query view and on the toolbar select Extract and in the next screen give some tech name and select .CSV format give the file path in ur application directory and dont forget to schedule the selction. Then you would be able to see ur report in .CSv format in ur app server.

Doc is the type of object, so you would not use Doc.exportAsXFDF.
In most cases you can use "this", but be careful as "this" will not always refer to the current document, it will refer to whatever object you are currently working within the parameters of.
The security restrictions are quite clear, but I will sum up just to be sure.  You CAN specify the cPath parameter in the following conditions:
    Batch Process
Running the code manually from the console
Executing exportAsXFDF through an OLE call via the JSObject from an external application written in C/C++/C#/VB.NET/etc.
Those are the ONLY times that you can specify the cPath parameter in the exportAsXFDF call.  If you try to specify it in any other instance, the call will fail and nothing will be exported.  This means that you CAN NOT specify the cPath parameter from a document-level script, folder-level script, menu item call, etc.

  • Automating Import-Export in Excel

    Hi all
Any clue on how to automate the process of importing and exporting a text file into excel spread sheet?
The text file can be a tab demimited, bar delimited...or any thing.
So any ideas on how I can do this?
    Thanx in advance
    -kms

yes. I need to use Java to convert the text files into excel files.
The text files are normal .txt files.
To be more precise they are tab delimited files.
So I need to automate the whole process of importing and exporting the files into excel.

  • Automating the EXPORT of all the schemas from a database

    DB Version: 10G Release 2
    OS : AIX 5.3
I need to create the export Dump files of all the schemas in one of our DBs and store it in the same machine. What is the best
way to go about it. I don't know python or perl. I think i've to learn one of them and create a script to automate this. What do you guys think?
I've got more than 60 schemas with an average size of 2gb

i thought you are going give him some advice after knowing the OS and
whether this will be a one-off exercise.Who says I'm not going to?
I simply think that saying "python rules, built-in utilities suck" is unhelpful, unless you're going to post some code which demonstrates how much easier the task is with Python compared with DataPump. Your unsupported assertion is particularly unhelpful given that the OP has already stated that they "don't know python or perl".
I don't know why you've resorted to name calling. IWell you are the person who, for no good reason, started the swearing (that French Connection UK malarky fools nobody).

  • HELP! Export indd- epub AUTOMATION. How to Implement! thanks!

Hi. In need some help. Im an intermidiate .net programmer. i need  some help on how to implement a simple automation on exporting indd to epub.
    What language suitable to use?
do i need indesign server ion this simple automation?
    Thanks!

    Jerome,
These days, Flex is the best way to "drive" InDesign and InDesign Server.
Because it has all the hooks for telling InDesign what you want it to do,
and because you can quickly build something with a nice UI. So, I think you
want to build an InDesign extension, using Flex / ActionScript.
A big help would be to use the Flex-based new-for-InDesign-5.0 Creative
    Suite Extension Builder system. See
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/cs-extension-builder.html
A CS Extension Builder extension is a full AIR application, so it has full
access to the file system, enabling you to implement hot folders if you
    wish.
The hard part is figuring out how to "translate" into an ePub format. You
could have a team of several programmers working for a year and still not
have a perfect system to do this.  BUT, you're in luck, because Adobe has
already written software to convert to HTML. It doesn't do a perfect job,
of course, but Adobe put a lot of effort into it.  And ePub format is
    HTML5-based, I believe.
So, probably what you want to do is first tell InDesign to run it's
InDesign-to-HTML conversion feature, and then post-process the result into
    the desired ePub format.
    Cheers,
    Stephen

  • Exporting IPhoto Albums via Automator

I would like to export all my iPhoto Albums to an external drive. Since I have my photos already organized in Albums in iPhoto, I would like to keep the same structure in the form of folders/directories on the target drive. But have it in a flat folder/file structure instead of iPhotos more sophisticated format (AFAICT)
Is there an easy way to use AppleScript (does that still exist) or Automator to export every Album in my iPhoto Library to a separate folder on a designated drive? I'm happy if the folder name is simply derived from the album name, I can later go in and modify things. Its just that going through 200+ albums isquite tiring and error prone.
    Thanks!
    Alex

    Terence,
    version number is 9.6.1.
As for OS vs iPhoto Forum - I guess in the end I don't mind if there is a solution that uses Automator or some other means. In that sense, yes my question would have been overly specific.
    Thanks!

  • Using Automator for Aperture Export?

    Hi everyone,
I'd like to use Automator to export different versions of photos from aperture 3.5 (different exposure -2, -1, 0, +1, +2)
I've seen in automator the different action : "export photo" "change exposure to -x" but I have absolutely no idea of how make it works in Aperture...
If anyone can help me, it would be amazing!
    Thanks in advance,
    Julien

mm strange, I'm running 10.9.2 also and I don't get that message. Ok try this one
I remove the reference actions (both the set and get) and replaced it with a second Get selected images. Note I have the new Get Selected Images action ignoring its input.
If you add more for more adjustments make sure you have all those set to ignore input also.
Also you might be able to remove the Reset all Adjustments action and use the Replace existing adjustments checkbox in the Apply action. Seems right but I didn't try it.

  • Slideshow export like in 06

Is there any way to export a slideshow to a mov like in iphoto 06???
Why on earth did you apple developers get rid of some handy things and hide them in an automated process (exporting to web gallery or iDVD, and limit it to that). i just want the intermediate file (which will eventually go in an iMovie 06 project).
    [off topic]
The more I use 08, the more i want 06 back (and my $$$).
.Mac is too slow to use (more $$$ gone down the drain)
    iPhoto 08 likes beachballs - a LOT - and i don't.
    [/off topic]
    Thanks,
    Trev

There's nowhere in iPhoto 6, except in the slideshow mode itself, where you can set slideshow transitions. The Export to Quicktime for an album of photos relies on Quicktime for the transitions and the only one it uses is the dissolve. If you use the File->Export from the slideshow mode you only get the option to change size, not transitions.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
