Automation Problem - Desperate Help Needed

Was wondering if anyone can help or has had the sameproblem?
I have nearly finished a remix project in Logic and I amcoming to the final stages of automating effects etc.
All of a sudden, my automation is not recording on certain tracks.
I am simply trying to automate the cut-off on the Filterplug-in, but have subsequently realised that it is also happening with volume and any other type of automation.
I thought it might be something to do with the massive synth– but the same is happening with the EXS and ES2 etc.
I have done a lot of testing and opened up a new project andcopied over the settings and midi-regions and automation records absolutely fine!
I even tried to get round it by sending the output to a bus and effecting the bus then trying to automate the bus once adding to the arrange! No Joy! Still failed?!
It seems that it is a bug within my project?!
A black line appears and even if I try and manually drawautomation the line just disappears.
It is definitely not what I am doing, as I have replicated the process in a fresh project and it works fine.
Are you only allowed so many channels of automation?
Funnily, during my testing when I try and delete the trackto start a fresh – it says – 'Do you want to delete automation'! but there isclearly none on display and I am not hearing any!
It feels like a bug – but wondered if anyone else had any issues?
It is only affecting certain tracks, but I cannot see a correlation between them?!
I am about to start replicating everything in a new project! Huge job – but I need to automate forthe final mix and its due by Friday – I am really frustrated by this!
Can Apple help me?

I haven't seen this behavior before, but it sounds like a corrupted file. It doesn't happen often, but it does, and can happen.
If you are not having similar problems in a new template, than moving everything over to a new session would be advised, at this point.
Logic 9's new track import feature will make this A LOT easier than it ever was.
Read up on how this is done, but you should be able to copy EVERYTHING over to a new session in one swoop

Desperate Help Needed re CS6 Activation/Installation Problem

A few months ago, I purchased the full retail version of CS6 (Design Standard) for Windows. I installed it on a new clean computer running Windows 7 and activated and registered it. The installation, activation and registration process went smoothly, and initially everything seemed OK.
A little over a month ago, the nightmare started. Since then, each time I try to run any of the CS6 components, I get a message telling me it "thinks" I have the trial version installed (even though I actually installed and activated the full version) and asks me if I want to "start the trial" or "license this software." If I choose "license" it asks for my serial number (which has already been entered numerous times) and it then seems to be OK -- for a while. However, within a short period of time, the problem is back, and the cycle starts again.
I have tried on numerous occasions (and spent countless dozens of hours) attempting to resolve this through Adobe support, both via telephone and via "chat." Each time, I wind up telling the same story to several different people, re-explaining it until they apparently understand it, and then getting transferred around to several people until I finally get to somebody who, supposedly, can help. Then, that individual walks me through the same things that have already been tried several times before. Finally, I am assured that the problem has been fixed, and am also assured that they will keep the case open. Each time, the problem has not been fixed, and I find that the case has been closed (so that the only way I can try to communicate is by starting all over, wasting more hours trying to get through, and ultimately again getting to somebody who has no idea what to do other than to tell me to do the same things that have already proven themselves (several times) not to work).
The result of all this is that I have a $1200 piece of software which is totally useless.
Perhaps somebody from Adobe can help me with how to take this to the next level so that it gets to somebody with the knowledge to figure out how to fix the problem. If anybody other than from Adobe has dealt with a similar problem, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Rob you may find this interesting...Adobe Customer Care sent me an email today in reguards to the problem I (we) have all been having...entering serial number numerious times in order to launch the CS6 program. This is what they sent me...
"With this response, we believe your issue is resolved and have therefore closed your case 0183753409. If your support case has not been completed to your satisfaction or you should need to contact us on this issue again, please reference your case number. You can reopen your case up to 14 days after it has been closed."
Then they continue with...
"Thank you for contacting Adobe technical support.
Thank you for updating the dependency information. We discussed this case again with our development team and they have informed that we do not have a solution for this issue at this point in time. You need to enter the serial number and activate the software each time you launch a 64 bit CS6 application. I would like to tell you that this is a rare incident and we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. We are closing this case now. We will get back to you once we have a fix for your issue.
I request you to contact us back via Live Chat for further questions."
So basically they are telling me (us) there is no fix and they do not have a plan for when there will be one, and that this problem is a rare incident. I'm not buying the rare incident statement what about you? I would be very interested to know just how many people out there are having this problem?
I am very disappointed in Adobe. How can they close my case saying the issue is resolved when infact it is not? I am also wondering why they have not already fixed this problem as it seems to have been around for quite awhile. Not really sure what else to do as Adobe seems not to be very concerned about customers spending hundreds of dollars for a program they know has this crazy annoying problem.
I've entered my serial number so many times I almost have the whole number memorized! What a pain to have to enter it about every other time I want to access my CS6 program! I'm a Very Very Unhappy Customer!!!

Jeff, Thanks, I did finally find a browser that would let me actually access my open (but now closed) case but I had to try three different ones before it worked. Google Chrome worked, Internet Explorer and Foxfire did not! FYI

Itunes has encountered a problem. desperate help please!!!

ok this is making me really angry. i am obsessed with itunes and now mine doesnt work. when i click on the icon a little box comes up saying:: itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvience. if you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. blah blah. and then if you click see what the data report contains it says--- this error report includes information regarding the condition of itunes when the problem occured; the operating system version and computer hardware in use- your digital product ID. which could be used to identify your license and the internet protocal address of your computer... and much more
I NEED HELP NOW i'm desperate. it's really bothering me i've deleted my itunes three times completly off my computer and downloaded it again and the same thing comes up... help pleasee!!!??

Recall for my problem urgent help needed

I am a new DB administrator and I have faced a problem in our database.
Here i will explain our architecture and i will state the problem.
In my org. we have database server responsible for keeping the DB itself. Another server which is the main server is responible to control the access to the network and making and storing DB backups using a third party software (Net Backup Software). The backups are kept in tapes accessed by main server using tapes robot.
Our backup policies is that the software makes full backup every week and a incremental dialy backups of the DB. The retention of each backup is two weeks. All servers have been shutted down during vacations.
The problem is that when we came from two weeks vacation, users found that the DB is in old state and we lost the most recent valid state. I tried all my best since month ago to do recovery. I decided the point of time to restore and I also use the SCNs but I could'nt reach a solution. I used Net backup, Rman, EM but without a result.
When i check NetBackup console I find a backup available since 28 of July 2010. Actually the changes are made after this date and now the DB state is older thatn this date. the question is: WHER HAVE THE CONSEQUENT CHANGES GONE? around one mounth of work has been lost..

Your BACKUP script does set the NetBackup parameters for the Tape Channels.
However, your RESTORE script does not specify the NetBackup parameters -- so Oracle doesn't know which channel to use for the Restore.
You need to add the NetBackup parameters in the RESTORE.
However, this is suprising :
The problem is that when we came from two weeks vacation, users found that the DB is in old state and we lost the most recent valid stateA database will NOT EVER "go back to an old state" until and unless someone has restored an old backup. If the servers were shutdown for two weeks, who would have restored the database. If the servers were shutdown, how would Oracle have automatically gone back to an old stats ? There must have been some manual actions.

I made wrapper vi's for the standard GPIB Read/Write functions to
handle errors (using green icons to distinguish them better). The "send
mult" handles simple strings (like standard GPIB Write) and array of
strings (you often need to send more than one string to a device). But
generally those icons have the same main functionality like standard
GPIB...
To send an array of strings you put the GPIB Write into a for loop and
connect the array as input with autoindexing enabled (as standard).
Maybe a small delay will help for some devices, the K2400 should do
without.
Edited: The greenish delay icon is just a standard "Wait ms" with
additional error cluster in/out to allow dataflow programming...

Desperate help need with Document Listener

I'm working on a very cool freeware Java text editor, that is working beautifully, except for the code used to change the color of reserved words, etc, on the fly...
At the moment, I use a documentlistener. When text is inserted, I need to color some of that text automatically. However, when I try to call setCharacterAttributes in DefaultStyledDocument, it causes a runtime exception, Illegal State Exception (Attempt to mutate in notification)>
I understand how this exception is caused, but how do I get around it?

The java editor is called j-Scribe, and is a text editor dedicated to java. I've designed it to be more user friendly than other text editors, with a useful interface. The code dispplay is all highlighted, and clicking on a brace collapses that section of code, to make larger classes easier to work through... There are also some nifty filemanagement windows, including a history pane similar to IE6, and one click access to all open files, and one click access to all of their save and close functions... There are wizards to automate creation of certain elements of code, and eventually a number of intelligent features will be added. The program makes extensive use of xml to store all of the information generated by the program.
I'm working on the alpha version right now, for release in about two weeks. The beta will be out three - four weeks after that, and the release should be late September / early October time...

EMU 1212m installation problems! Help needed!

Hello everyone. Hopefully someone can help me out, getting my 1212m back to working.
A month ago, I bought a new computer and I put a EMU 1212m into it. It worked fine, until some other audio devices had bad drivers and made windows crash so many times, I decided to format my hard disk and install XP over again. Well, that worked out fine, computer is running very smoothly but I cant install my 1212m anymore. Windows does find new hardware, which it names "multimedia-audiocontroller, pci slot xx, etc" in the device manager. When I start the EMU setup from the original CD, it says "setup has not detected any supported hardware on your computer" and it closes down right away.
I already tried this:
- multiple installation CD's
- multiple EMU drivers (internet, etc)
- chancing PCI slots
- disabling on-board sound via Bios
- cleaning up registery settings from earlier installation attemps.
- manually select the drivers on the installation CD. It installes the drivers and then Windows says: this device will not start.
I can try whatever I want, but the message keeps on showing up everytime I start a setup. I don't know which actions to take next, so I desperately need some advice here.

I just bought a 1212M and have had similar problems. I assumed the website drivers would be newer than those on the accompanying CD as is the case with most products -- WRONG! I got the same symptoms you describe with the internet drivers, only when I used the CD did it work -- and to my amazement, the CD drivers seems to be newer than the internet downloads (excluding the 2.0 beta drivers of course).
Another complication I had was that I left my perfectly working X-Fi in the computer while installing the 1212M .... the drivers seem to confuse the two cards, which doesn't help. In fairness, the Emu documentation does warn about this, however I eventually got both to work together. If you have a second soundcard in the same computer, even one built into the motherboard, disable it and see if that helps. The Creative (SoundBlaster) drivers are notoriously hard to uninstall cleanly, so if necessary follow Martin Walker's excellent advice over at Sound On Sound (http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar0...pcmusician.htm).

My Flash player will not download. desperate help needed

I am at a complete loss as to what to do. Flash will not download on my PC windows 7 computer no matter how many times I try. I click on the link and go through the whole process of downloading the installation file but then nothing happens just a big black box popping up with no prompts and nothing being installed. I am at my wit's end and am in desperate need of what's wrong. Is it my anti virus software? Is it my firefox? I am in desperate need of help. Please advise ASAP.

Desperate help needed....So frustrated

Please help, anyone.
All my equipment is brand new. My first concern is that there might be a hardware compatibility issue- which i hope is not the case, b/c i just dropped close to a grand for this whole system.
Anyway, here's my problem: my first time booting i used a win xp pro cd, it formatted the disk w/ no problems, then when it started to load the installation files it stopped at 62%. I then rebooted and went back to reformat the drive and reinstall xp. This happened at least 2x. Basically the furthest i've got was formatting the drive then the "dos" part of the xp setup, BUT right when it starts to load the "gui" aspect of the installation it reboots. It's like an infinite loop -without my touching it it would start the gui aspect, reboot, start up again etc..
I've also gotten 2 different Stop errors (after each one, i reformatted the drive and they havent repeated): Stop 0x00000024 and stop 0x0000000a.
Steps ive taken so far
-I have a cdrw drive and a dvd- i tried using each one
-switched the memory to a diff. slot
-reformatting
-setting the bios to optimal performance
PLEASE HELP--in any way you can-- I HAVE NO WHERE ELSE TO TURN.
I appreciate everyone's input and assistance in advance.

After researching the topic all day at work, I found myself on my video card's website...here is a quote from the user guide:

I have a feeling this is the problem since my mobo is SIS648F- I have yet to try it though. Any thoughts?
How would i go about installing the proper driver w/o being able to load windows? (I don't have a floppy drive)
My 2nd thought is like Moleman and Reilly said- the ram; but i only have one so i can't take any out....yet. My thought was, prior to taking it out, manually tweaking the bios config to match my ram.
My 3rd thought is to upgrade the bios- i'm not sure what version i have off hand-that'll have to wait till i get back home.
Lastly (for now), if the agp update is indeed the solution, does that mean i need to go and download all the new updates from the MSI and SIS sites for each component?

K9N Neo-F Freeze and restart problem. Help needed!

I recently bought a Mainboard (K9N Neo-F S/N: 601-7260-010K0605023133) that seems to shutdown every now and then. No blue screen... it just freezes for a while and then shuts down. My CPU temperature is very low, I've used a lot of coolingpaste and I have tried every possible way of mounting memorys... 1,2,4... and in different slots. I've run Memtest also. The BIOS-version is the newest according to the Liveupdate-function. The power supply should be enough but I have tested disconnecting everything else then one harddrive and the mobo... doesn't work.
Sometimes it happens with three hours between the occations and sometimes five minutes. Not related to anything special that is done on the computer.
Is this a problem that is common...? Related to hardware or bios...? I would be glad for any advice you could give.

I started Orthos and then left the computer alone. Went and watched a film, when I got back after 1 hour and 38 minutes or something like that the computer freezed. I will try leaving it on all night without touching a thing... kind of strange that it happens right when I sit down and move the mouse.

Income Tax Calculation problem: Urgent Help Needed

Dear Gurus,
I am facing a unique problem. Our client has two incentives
1) Product Incentive
2) Sales Incentive
Every month incentive figures get changed. These two are Monthly Regular Income (Cumulations Class 24) i.e. included in annual tax calculation.
Now for tax calculation, my client wants "Actual Earning" and "Estimated Earning for the rest of the year" to be different. But Income tax calculation in SAP (for the month of April 2007) takes Actual Earning and multiplied it by 12( i.e. 11+1) to calculate Estimated Earning. But my client wants this Estimated Earning to be different.
Now please let me know is this possible in SAP system and how to calculate this?

Desperate help needed to configure WVC210 for remote access?

Hi, I'm new and desperately need some help on setting up my WVC210 for remote access.
I manage to setup and see images from my WVC210 using my home LAN via both wired and also wireless.
I have 2 questions:
(a) for wireless connection, i only manage to get connection to my WVC210 if i disable the wireless security from my router. But that means i'm opening my wireless LAN to everyone. How can i still get connection to the camera if i enable the wireless security from my router. (FYI: my router is 2Wire ADSL from Singnet Mio)
(b) how can i get connection to my WVC210 from outside or in my office? I type in the camera Fixed IP address (displayed on the front screen) on the web browser, by it shows a error page. Is there some setting that i might need to adjust ?

For Item (2) is there any difference between the camera built-in dyndns updater versus the software updater? I am under the impression that the software updater is easier to manage.
The biggest difference for you is that the camera always stays at the same location, and the laptop goes with you. Every time you access the internet from a different location with the laptop the software updater is sending the new IP address to dyndns.com. This causes you to lose access to your camera because the FQDN doesn't point to your home IP address anymore. Once the dyndns credentials are in the camera (or router) there is no management needed. The device will automatically update dyndns.com with your new IP address as it changes, and you do not need to do anything.
For Item (3), are you saying port forward 1025 is it for the 2nd camera only or for both? Or is it 2nd camera use 1025 and first camera use 8080?
Here's an example of what I mean:
Camera 1: 192.168.1.210 port 1024. In router, forward port 1024 to 192.168.1.210
Local Access: http://192.168.1.210:1024
Remote Access: http://bernards210.dyndns.org:1024 (Example)
Camera 2: 192.168.1.211 port 1025. In router, forward port 1025 to 192.168.1.211
Local Access: http://192.168.1.211:1025
Remote Access: http://bernards210.dyndns.org:1025 (Example)
Camera 3: 192.168.1.212 port 1026. In router, forward port 1026 to 192.168.1.212

to access the 2 camera outside, do i have to have another dyndns host name or can i use the current one for both camera?
As you can see in the above example, the dyndns name remains the same for remote access to all three cameras. The only change is the port number at the end. Your router will translate the port number to the IP address that the port is forwarded to, allowing you to select the camera that you wish to view by changing the port number in the address.
I was actually thinking that the camera web browser can show 2 camera at the same time. Is it possible?
No. Each browser window will display a single camera. You can however opens multiple instances of your browser to allow viewing of more than one camera simultaneously. A better solution is to install the Video Monitoring Software that is included with the camera which allows you to view multiple cameras in the same window.

Desperate help needed to uninstall old Cable Drive...

Add and Remove Programs shows a Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and trying to remove it doesn't work. The Info shows version 1.00.150.2 PC Suite Cleaner version 3.6 gives the message "PC Suite Cleaner does not support this version of Nokia PC Connectivity Solution (8.22.2.0). Please contact Nokia support." I have tried various deletes of the NOKIA folder in PRograms, various registry cleaners all without success. Thanks

Playlist Problem! help needed!

Hi guys. i am writing a playlist where jmf runs all my mp3 from the hard drive. How do i play the next music when the first one is finished. Under controller update, if i use Player.getState() == Player.Prefetched, i'm getting an out of memory after about 10 songs have been played. One more thing. All the media are started with minimum volume. Please advise how i can control the volume level?

Ohhh .. sorry, should have read your question fully. Making the play list is not your problem. Are you recreating the player for each track? are you calling
player.stop() and player.close() at the end of every track, then making a player for the next track? If you aren't then the resources are not being released.
For working with the volume, you need to use a GainControll eg;
GainControl gain = player.getGainControl();
gain.setLevel((volume.getValue()) * 0.3f);

Lightroom 2.3 problem. Help needed.

Hi,
I'm using Lightroom 2.3 on a PC with Windows XP installed and 3GB of ram.
I seem to have run into a problem that I'm hoping someone may be able to help me solve.
Yesterday evening I went to import some images (Raw files) into Lightroom from my external hard drive. I selected the folder and chose the option to import all images within the folder. A message popped up saying they were already in my catalogue so I closed the dialogue box. I looked for them but they weren't in Lightroom so I tried the import again. This time Lightroom just froze up when I selected the images to import. I had to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to end the program.
I relaunched and optimized the catalogue and tried again but Lightroom froze again. I deleted my Lightroom catalogue, the Silvertone folder, uninstalled Lightroom and reinstalled it to start again from scratch with a brand new catalogue.
I tried importing some different photos from a different folder on my external hard drive, the same thing happened again, Lightroom completely froze.
I used Ctrl-Alt-Delete to end the program and relaunched Lightroom. I selected some images from a Compact Flash card that I had in my card reader, Lightroom imported these into the catalogue ok. I tried again with some images from my external hard drive but this time before freezing-up I had a dialogue box appear for a second saying 'Computing dates', but still no imported images and locked-up once again.
Help!!!!
Has anyone any ideas why this is happening and more importantly, how to solve it.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

The images are actually stored on that particular drive and I'm just importing them but leaving them in place.
After successfully importing one lot of images and Lightroom freezing-up again, I deleted the preferences folder once again and launched Lightroom. This time it let me import two folders worth of images in succesion. I then tried to import a third and it did nothing and froze. I once again deleted the preferences file and it allowed me to import.
So it seems I can import one lot of images or even two lots before the problem re-occurs and I have to keep deleting the preferences file before being able to continue.
