Autonumber id numbering reset

How do I reset my keyfield ID which is an autonumber field? I have been running a module to check out my sql logic and now I need to change the ID number back to zero before I do the actual processing of my data.

Hi,
I'm having a problem with page numbering.
I have the following layout (simplified):

total pages

Very simple. Except that I don't want the page numbering to reset. Is there anyway use @section and NOT reset page numbers with each break?

I'm porting over (from MS Word) a document that has a bunch of tables in it.
The document currently looks something like this:
1 Major heading
1.1 Sub heading
text for that sub heading that refers to a table that follows (or may preceed) such as see Table 1-1 that follows
Table 1-1
Row 1/Column 1 content   Column 2 content   Column 3 content
Row 2/Column 1 content   etc....            etc.
Row 3                    etc.               etc.
1.2 Next sub heading
Text to follow that sub head that references Table 1-2 below...
Table 1-2
Row 1/Column 1 content   Column 2 content   Column 3 content
Row 2/Column 1 content   etc....            etc.
Row 3                    etc.               etc.

Currently it seems that the tables are numbered based on the chapter number with the chapter apparently being set at 2.
I need the tables to instead use numbering based on the heading (Titles) numbers, but can't seem to figure out how to get the numbers set for the tables as I would want them to be.
What do I need to do to make the table numbers reset based on the paragraph numbers (subchapters if you would refer to them that way...)

What is the paragraph format of "Table 2-1" lines?
Table numbering is commonly controlled by two things:
1. Format > Paragraph > Paragraph Designer
[table title para name]
[ Numbering]
and
2. Format > Document > Numbering
The default in Frame is that tables have titles of para fmt "TableTitle", but tables can switch that off, and also be anchored to paragraphs (often Headings) of any arbitrary format name and numbering scheme.

Page numbering - multiple repeating frames

Hi,
It’s a bit tricky in explaining this but I shall try to do my best.
This is an invoice report with 2 parts (everything in the main section), main invoice and summary. The main invoice is in repeating frame R2 and summary (matrix report) is in repeating frame R3. Both the repeating frames are encompassed in repeating frame R1.
Each part of the report should have page numbering (1 of 2 type) and the numbering should be independent of each other (for main invoice and summary).
Main invoice has page numbering reset (both current page number and total number of pages) at R2 and summary's page numbering is being reset at R3. The report is working fine for a single invoice but when running it for multiple invoices the output is as below
Inv# 100 - Main Section 1 of 2
------------------------------2 of 2
Summary 1 of 1
Inv# 101 - Main Section 2 of 3
------------------------------3 of 3
Summary 3 of 3
Inv# 102 - Main Section 2 of 3

It would be worth not to change the report's design as there are many frames, fields,..... but I don't know how to resolve this numbering problem.
I am using reports 6i.

UCCX numbers off on Agent desktop and CTIOS supervisor desktop

Hello,
We have a big problem with the numbers displaying on are agent desktops as well as as the CTIOS supervisor desktops the numbers are off, such as the number of call recieved at the end of the day, etc. It seems like at certain times of the day the numbers reset back to zero and the number of calls received by an agent through the whole day are smaller than they should. Can you please help us.

1. Is this an issue with all agents or only few ?
2. What OS they are running ?
3. Try installing CAD on Win XP or Win 7 32-bit to see if the behavior is same ? I wouldnt recommend reinstalling CAD on their existing boxes, as few registry settings might not be removed completely & will show the same behavior. Therefore, grab a new machine with above mentioned OS & do a fresh install on it to see if it helps.
4. Were there any OS patch upgrades taken place recently on agent machines ?

Dave is right. This can't really be automated (at least not in ID).
The last time I ran into a book like this I *thought* I could automate it by using running head variables and picking up an invisible autonumbered head in the text flow. I was disappointed to learn that variables don't "see" the autonumbers.
I ended up converting all my autonumbered section numbers to actual numbers. So at least they went into the running head automatically once. But if I had had to add or remove a section I would have had some typing to do.

Numbers forms not working properly on iPad

Updated to ios7, and now when I create a spreadsheet and form in Numbers, the Form view doesn't work properly. The cursor only appears in every other field - data can be entered in the fields where the cursor doesn't show, but you can't see it until you move to the next field.
The program also crashes frequently now.

Have the same problem - it has made numbers unusable. Have uninstalled numbers, reset the forms and the same issues!
I have now had to revert format to excel and use the excel app!
Come on Apple - what's going on?

Endnotes Numbered By Section but All at end of doc

So I have a large document where each chapter is a different section, this accomplishes one of my aims, which is to have the footnotes numbers reset each chapter. However, I want to publish all the endnotes together at the end of the document rather than the end of chapter (ie section). Is there a way to do this or to organize a hierarchy of sections (endnotes at the end of the master section, numbers begin anew at each minor section)?

Not that know. You have the choice of having footnotes aat the bottom of each page, the end of the section or at the end of the document, but each choice sets the numbering.
A way around it might be to copy the footnotes and paste them at the end of the document manually.

How can I reference a Value in a Field?

Here is my problem. I have a two fields, say F_2 & F_3, defined in the layout editor. One field has a defined source of Page Number and the other field has a defined source of Total Pages. Each of these fields page numbering properties have been set so that the page numbers reset at a repeating group level. Within the report I have a program unit where I want to be able to use the values stored in these fields for calculations inside the program unit. How can this be done?

I have actually tried putting a ':', :F_2, in front of the field name. Doing this returns an error saying that I have a bad bind variable. I have also tried to put an '&', &F_2, in front of the field name. This also returns an error. This time the error is, encountered the sysbol '&' when expecting ...

Issues with document loading

I am currently loading a project that I created yesterday.
There were some problems, which I'll explain. At the moment, the RH
status bar says "Ready," and I am typing in a browser. If I switch
focus to RH, nothing happens until I move the mouse. As soon as I
move the mouse, an hourglass cursor appears, the RH status bar says
"updating bookmarks," and a progress indicator appears. Needless to
say, this is annoying.
The problems I had yesterday seem to concern autonumbering.
As part of my evaluation, I'm attemping to use "Convert
Autonumbering to HTML List." We use multilevel autonumbering, and
on the first go, RH did not pick it up. To simplify the tests, I
set Ignore Autonumbering for all tags except one, "step," and in
Frame I altered the autonumbering for "step" to <n+>\t. RH
then picked up the autonumbering and used <ol> (I presume),
but in topics with more than one sequence of steps, the
autonumbering did not reset. (I shpuld have checked the HTML, but I
didn't.)
To reset the autonumbering, I cleared Ignore Autonumbering
for the Frame tag that resets the counter. The autonumbering for
this tag (call it "step head") is simply < =0>. Then in RH I
selected Update. After a while, RH crashed with one of those "send
report to Microsoft?" messages. It was the end of the day, so I
left it there.
This morning I tried to reload the project (hoping to re-use
the Content Settings for another project). RH showed the following
message repeatedly, where "whatever.htm" represents the names of
different topics.
"File whatever.htm is generated from FrameMaker document. On
next update of the rameMaker document all the modifications to
whatever.htm will be lost."
The message had two check boxes, "Preserve modfifications to
this file" and "Don't show me this message again." With some
trepidation I clicked "Don't show me this message again" (does it
apply to this project only, or to all projects from now on?)
It was after all this that I began having problems with the
"Ready" status.

This is a long sequence of events. Not sure what's the
problem. Please try if this helps.
You can right click on FrameMaker document in RoboHelp (icon
along with filename in Project Explorer in RoboHelp) and select
properties. In "FrameMaker Document Settings" dialog which opens
up, go to tab "File Update Settings" and you can chose which HTML
topics you want to preserve.

System 9 - how to reallocate software memory

Hey guys,
I went from OS9 to 10.3 about 8 months ago and up to this point I have not had to use system 9. So I loaded an old piece of software recently (Flash) and everything was great until I started getting low memory alerts.
I went to the program, apple I, and upped the dosage, but the program continued to give alerts. I restarted and went to up the memory again and realized it reset itself to the defaults. After some testing it seems that all my software in system 9 does not allow me to change the memory settings.
Well, to be more specific, it allows me to change the numer, but if I click off the get info window, or close it down, the numbers reset. And, it looks like my permission settings are cool????? Please help

Make sure the application isn't actually running.
Navigate to it until you find it in the "Applications" folder.
Click on the application's icon once to highlight it (but not start it up).
Then hit CMD + I and you should be able to reset the memory allocation.
I hope this works for you - it works for me.
If it doesn't, try going to System Preferences --> Classic ----> Advanced and click on "rebuild classic desktop".
That usually fixes most things in OS9.
If in doubt about how much memory to allocate, try allocating a massive amount at first, then gradually cut back until it's the minimum you feel you need.

Powerbook upgrades and Display advice????

Hi there everyone,
I've got two question's, as with everything else i've asked, these boards have always helped me.
The First One.
I've Got a 1.33Ghz PBook, It has never failed me, making the switch was the best thing i ever did, the only problem with it now, which isn't a problem, it just doesn't do what i want it to, by that i mean run the new Final cut express HD. everything in the powerbook is the same as it was when it came out of the Apple Factory (60gb HDD, 256mb Ram, 64mb Graphics, etc) is it worth putting in a 1gb Ram stick, the latest OS, to use the FCEHD software, i know it's not the fastest computer to edit on, but i'm going to be getting a 20-inch iMac when the new Cat comes out, but i still won't to be able to edit on the move as good as possible, i'm not going to be buying a MB or MBP, nothing against them i just feel my powerbook can do the job i want fine hopefully, what do you think.
Any experiences or advice please comment?
The Second Question.
Display's, this is a tough one. i've looked around, the Dell's and Samsung screens keep popping up. But the problem i'm having, is i don't won't just a monitor, i know they can be used as TV screens in a sense aswell. but for my bedroom i haven't got the room for a TV and a monitor . I've found an LCD Samsung R74 26inch ( Samsung uk Website) For the PS3 when it's released. It's the Perfect size for my room , plus can be used as a monitor, will this work with my Powerbook i know the quality won't be as good as a dedicated monitor but for movie editing i think it would be perfect, all that screen real estate.
So with my Powerbook maxed out do you think this setup would work??
Any help, or anyone with a similar setup, give me some tips or advice, i'm not that up on all LCD tv's VS LCD monitors.

Regarding memory, you might want to look at your activity monitor. It's located on your hard drive in applications/utilities. Bring it up, choose system memory, and look at page ins/outs. Page outs are what the system does when it doesn't have enough memory and pages memory to the hard disk to make room in memory for other things. If page outs are 10% of page ins, or greater, then you can use more memory. The numbers reset when you reboot, so the relative size of the numbers doesn't mean anything.
If you decide to get more RAM, look at the RAM manufacturer recommended Crucial, Kingston (not their valueram), or Samsung memory. The PB architecture varies memory voltage to help manage power and heat, and not all brands of memory can work with this.

Stupid Rainbow Ball/Activity Monitor

My computer has really been getting hung up a lot lately and it is driving me nuts. I have a 1.33 ghz powerbook g4 with 768 Ram. I am really new to troubleshooting this mac, so I'm not sure what to do. I have performed the disc utilities and mac janitor (which seemed to help slightly). However, it still gets hung up. For example, it just got caught on running word, firefox and activity monitor at once. This doesn't seem like it should be such a big deal!
I don't know if this is relevant, but according to activity monitor, under system memory, there is around 85 mb 'wired', 342 'active' and 278 'inactive', leaving me with 60 free mb (obviously much less if I open one more program). Does the inactive actually affect performance? If so, how do I fix this? Is 768 no longer enough memory to perform basic operations?

While in the activity monitor, on the system memory tab, note the page ins/outs. If page outs are 10% or greater of your page ins, you can use more memory for what you run. The numbers reset when you reboot.
I had issues with Safari using a gaggle of memory, so I switched to Firefox, which seems to be more behaved when using system resources.

When OS X runs out of physical memory to run programs, it writes sections of memory to the hard drive to make room for other programs to run. This making room is called a page out. In a memory perfect world, page outs would be zero, since there would be enough memory to run everything. However, that's rarely the case.
What your numbers mean is that, since your last boot (the numbers reset when you boot), your system has read in 2.31GB's of data to work on, however, it's paged out 3.74GB's or 162% of page in's. Where the gauge for the right amount of data is page outs being 10% to 15% of page ins, yours is at 162%, for the programs you run!
While you have 4GB of memory, your page outs suggest you need to at least 8GB for the programs you run. You could just replace one memory card to get to 6GB, however, the Intel architecture runs a bit quicker (3% to 5%) with matched memory, for example two 4GB cards.
That could explain why you've seen less than optimal performance, even with 4GB of memory.
