Autopopulating based on selection made

I've a customer that wants a drop down field formatted in such a way, that if, for example, they select 3/8" diameter in one drop down, the second dropdown or text field will automatically show up as 3,500 lbs. Is there a script in adobe acrobat that will make this happen?

There are two fields, the Diameter field, and the Required Proof Load field. The Diameter field has 18 different diameter sizes. Each diameter size has a specific weight that needs to go into the Required Proof Load field.

    to populate the second dropdown from the selection of the first u need to the submit the form on the selection of data from dropdown and based on the selection populate the second dropdown.
    If using jspDynpage u can submit the form on the  ''onChange" event of first drop down.

  • Creating a calendar of events based upon selections made in other tables

    I have a Sheet that I've started working on the includes a variety of pop-up menus that reference look up tables on another sheet that contain names and prices of products. In conjunction with the drop down menus are a series of check boxes for the months in which one would want to receive the products. in each group of drop downs the order of what is selected can vary and be for example, a,b,c, or a,c,b, etc...
    I want to create a calendar looking portion of the sheet that would then express in what month each product was being received.
    I have used a LOOKUP function successfully for most of this but it seems to be erroring out in odd places. I've created a third table that looks at the first one I described, does a LOOKUP by product name and then if the product name is found it looks in the columns containing checkboxes for each month and returns either a true or false. Then on the calendar sheet - An IF statement is used to find if TRUE and then it uses text formatted as webdings to fill the box.
    I hope that explains things well enough. Any help in deciphering either why the LOOKup feature is working most places but not all or in providing a more elegant solution would be appreciated.

    Your situation seems a little too complicated to provide concrete, meaningful suggestions without actually seeing what you are doing. A screen shot might be helpful, but your spreadsheet seems complicated enough that even that might not be sufficient. I can give a couple of general comments that maybe you can put to good use.
    (1) I cannot remember a time when I used LOOKUP(); almost always VLOOKUP() is what is needed (and rarely HLOOKUP() given the standard way data is typically stored in tables).
    (2) As formulas are filled down and across (especially complicated ones) it is easy to mess up the absolute cell referencing for the ranges that the lookup functions require.

    In order to calculate new values in my business rule I have to use CREATENONMISSINGBLK ON option. But it takes too long time to complete the calculation. So, I need to set FIXes in my business rule in order to keep database selection as small as possible.
    Is there any possibility to pass page selections prom planning data form to my custom business rule?
    For example form:
    Columns: Period
    Rows: Account
    Page: Year, Entity, Version, CustomDimension
    In my rule a need to set following fixes:
    Account: Custom fixed List
    Period: Custom fixed List
    Year: Custom fixed List
    Entity: Get one values selected in data form
    Version: Get one values selected in data form
    CustomDimension Get one values selected in data form
    OR
    is it possible to set default values for Run-time prompts to be equal to selected members in page dimensions?

    Hi,
    You can set up variables in your business rules so for example,
    Create Variable rtVersion, set it as Type member and dimension Version and Usage-Type as "Run-Time Prompt".
    Then in your business rule code you refer to the variable using [rtVersion]
    Now in planning the design of the form when you choose the properites for the business rule make sure "Use Members on Data Form" is ticked, and run on save.
    Now when the form is saved a pop up window will appear passes the selected version member into the run time prompt text box, this will then be passed into your business when submitted.
    You can also hide prompts if you want it be sent directly into the business rule without any user intervention.

    I wonder if anyone can help?
    A form with a radio button group containing two radio buttons "yes" and "no".
    Below the radio buttons is a dropdown list that has three items in the list "option A, option B, & option C.
    Below that, is another dropdown list, with three items, "10000", "15000" & "20000"
    How can I do the following?
    When radio button "yes" is selected, and dropdown list "option A is selected, it prepopulates "10000" in the bottom dropdown list
    When radio button "yes" is selected, and dropdown list "option B is  selected, it prepopulates "15000" in the bottom dropdown list
    When radio button "yes" is selected, and dropdown list "option C is  selected, it prepopulates "20000" in the bottom dropdown list

  • Separate App Module, View Object based on Select not EO: Best practice?

    Hi,
    I have a list of base tables(parameters) that are used everywhere in my application for selection components (List, Combo, Radio).
    I'm considering creating a separate app module with a view object based on query for each table.
    I have created a BaseTableAM application module for managing those tables, Entity objects and View Objects in update mode.
    Those tables are rarely changed.
    Example of table:
    ItemType
    item_type_id = primary key
    name = description
    In the BasetableAM:
    ItemTypeEO entity object
    ItemTypeVO updateable view object based on related entity object.
    Now in my project I will create combo boxes for selection of the item_type_id.
    Separate application module:
    SelectionViewAM composed of View Objects based on Select statements and not on Entity Objects.
    Example of view object ItemTypeViewVO:
    SELECT ItemType.ITEM_TYPE_ID,
    ItemType.NAME
    FROM ITEM_TYPE ItemType
    All view objects in this application module will be read-only and for selection only.
    By basing all those View Objects on select statements not based on Entity Objects I suppose there will be no locking and "value changed" management => less overhead.
    Is this a good practice?
    Being read-only I could have based those View Object on Entity Object with flag updateable set to no, what would you recommend?
    By creating a separate Application Module for those selection view objects, I know that update will not be possible.

    Are you planning to use this AM as a nested AM inside other application modules?
    If you don't the "selection AM" will have its own, separate database connection/transaction.
    If you do, it will share connection, transaction with its containing "root" AM.
    It may not be relevant to your application, but just realize (which is explained in the article I point to above) that view objects that are not related to entity objects do not "see" pending changes in the current transaction. That feature depends on the VO/EO cooperation. It's fine to build VO's without an EO -- in fact we've made it easier to do this in 10.1.2 in the Design Time wizards -- but you just want to make sure you realize what features it's giving up. If you don't need those EO-related features, then by all means create an Expert Mode VO that's not related to EO's.

  • Populate field based on selection from another field?

    I'm using a Data Connection with a SQL query that returns two fields (StNameFull and ADDRKEY). I have a drop-down list called "Address" with the list items dynamically bound to StNameFull, so the user can select the address.
    What I'm trying to do is populate the second field "Key" with the corresponding record, based on the selection made from the drop-down list.
    Is it possible to script this so that when the Address is selected the Key will automatically fill in with the key that matches the address selcted?
    I currently have "Key" as a text field bound to ADDRKEY, but not sure how to have it check what was selected in "Address"

    Yes it is possible but you will have to write some script to do it. You wil also have to ge the DataConenction to execute a SQL statement. There is a good blog on this topic at this location:

    First off, I am not a developer, but I have been able to do quite a few things in Access VBA to suit my needs. 
    I have created an access "application" that lists product information based values entered in a textbox and combobox. Now I need to display the product image as well.
    I have a form with a textbox that the user types in a product brand code. This code determines the styles that are populated in the style combobox (these changes as soon as the brand code changes). I then have a button that runs a query to fetch products
    that have the style and brand as per the previously selected values. I then have a listbox that displays the data from the query. the other fields on the form are populated based on the selection made in the listbox (each time a new row is selected, the details
    on the form change). 
    Up to this point I everything works fine. Now I need to populate an image box based on the selection made on the list. I have a lot of images and they are all named

    My question is: How do I populate this image box based on the selection made in the list?

    Store the full path to each image file in a text column in the Products table.  Return this as a hidden column in the list box by setting its column width to zero.  Set the ControlSource property of the image control to reference the list box's

    Then I created a page item ListOfTables,  Display as select list and pointing to tables_LOV.
    I run the page, and i can select the table i want from the drop down list.

    I think that simulates what you're trying to accomplish. I've set up the simplest method I could think of.
    The report is based on an apex collection. If you are not familiar with that, you should study the documentation: APEX_COLLECTION
    To recreate my example you should:
    1) create an (interactive) report on your collection
    SELECT *
       FROM APEX_collections
    WHERE collection_name = 'MY_COLLECTION'
    2) create a page_item select list for the tables you want to display (in my case this is called "P38_TABLES" )
    3) create a dynamic action that triggers on change of your select list page_item. The dynamic action must be a PL/SQL procedure perfoming the following code:

  • How do I get the packing slips to print the selections made under a buy now button

    So I started using paypal packing slips about a year and half ago, instead of manually copying the info into an excel document version to create the packing slip. I use the packing slips to make sure I have the order correct and done before packing and then printing out the label. For the past year and half if it is a 'buy now' button with drop down selections, I have to manually edit each one to copy and paste the info from the payment notification into the end of  'thank you' text field. and in the process I have to remember to de-select the save button each time so I don't accidently put that info on my next order. Is there a way either with the button itself or the packing slip to select to have it print out the selections made on the packing slip? Given that in a few cases there are several drop downs, I need them all to list. It would save me a little time with each order and more importantly make sure I have the correct information on the correct packing slip. The information is there. just have not figured out how to automatically have it print on the packing slip. For trivia: I have no problem when I send an invoice or have an item with no selections, but for those items that have selections, because most of my items have several similar variations available, it would be really nice to be able to have it automatically put that information on the packing slip.

    Could you check your "shrink to fit" and scaling settings? Easiest way is:
    tap the Alt key > File > Page Setup
    The default would be
    * Scale: 100
    * Shrink to fit checked (this disables editing the Scale box, but you can uncheck it, edit, then re-check it)
    If those are at their default settings, perhaps they do not work well for particular pages? You can use Print Preview to examine how shrink-to-fit works on that page and override it by using a different percentage instead.
    Occasionally Firefox printer data gets garbled and manual adjustments don't seem to work. In that case, you can "reset" those printer settings. This article has the steps: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages#Reset_printer

  • Chart based on Select list with submit Lov problem

    Hi,
    I have one page with interactive report showing username with links, date and
    database actions.
    Another page contains one region having flash chart based on select list with submit Lov.
    The lov is created by dynamic query.
    Every time when i click the 1st page report link, the 2nd page lov is populating the value automatically. But the problem is chart displays NO DATA FOUND message though the LOV has many values.
    I don't want to display any null values so set to NO for LOV
    I tried to write Before header computation (PL/SQL Function Body) to set the lov value, but the query is displayed as such.
    I don't want to assign any static default value also as the values are dynamic for every link.
    The following is my Before header computation of Select list with submit (Item name is p11_schema). (PLSQL Function Body)

    Example: If there more than one records in the lov, the graph should display the 1st record. When i select another record, the chart accordingly display the selected values. But inially it should not display "NO DATA FOUND" message.
    I tried using all the combinations of computation type for the lov, SQL query ( I could not use if conditon then), PLSQL expression, PLSQL function body. But it does not work out.
    Can anyone please help me out.

    I found out the solution for this problem as below.
    But i did it in different way to tackle the dynamic query wich returns more than one record using rownum always the 1st record when it is empty instead of assigning constant (static) value like '1'. And i am returning LOV itself for both null or not null condition as below.

    Can a selection made within a photograph be independently rotated? I did an inversion of a photograph and now need to correct the angle of an object that's embedded in the photo.

    What is that you are wanting to achieve? Lightroom is a great image processor and file manager plus much more. Photoshop or Photoshop Elements while doing what you asked for does not have most of Lightroom's capabilities and hence they are designed to work in a complimentary manner. Most photographers use Lightroom for a big part of their work and just use Photoshop for complex pixel editing and working with layers, etc. from Lightroom files can be sent to Photoshop and a resultant file is returned to Lightroom which manages the whole process.

    We have created smart form for printing confirmation entries in desired format. We have given some selection criteria in the program. Now, we want to do the sum of certain fields in the smart form based on selection criteria given in program and selection screen.
    But we are getting wrong sum in the smart form than expected.
    When we debug the program during run time, we are getting correct records as per our expectations. But result of sum in the out put is not as per given selection criteria.
    Do we need to establish link between "select option" and "Smart form"? How can we use internal table created for select option in the smart form?

    There will be no option to sum the values in smartforms, You just have to sum and append the data to internal table and display the internal table data in the form.

    I have report where I can choose the line. I've already been able to catch the selected row there using ABAP Planning Function.
    The requirement is to change some value from other customized table ( not info cube ) based on selected row.
    So when user's selecting data and pressing a button, the idea is to prompt a variable where they can see the old value, and they can entry the new value. But to query that value, I need to select based on the values the row.
    My Question is how user-exit in variable can read selected row in web planning layout especially it happens when I_step = 1 ?
    Or the other idea is to get the value on that customized table and put it in text web item as the old value. How can I fetch data from table and put it in text web item ?

    I think there is no way to do it. I_STEP=1 called before the report shows the data.
    But may be the next approach could help you:
    1. when you select line you can use command for populating variables according to selected line. let's say yohave selected line with costcenterr XXX so you can populate variable (let's say Z_CC) with selected value.
    2. create FOX that reads variable Z_CC value and calls any function module with customized table and variable value (you can use CALL FUNCTION statement within FOX and pass to it variable value).
    This is just an idea of some direction - may be you can take it and develope to required result.
