How to variable exit read table based on selected row on weblayout ??

Hi All,
Greeting,
I have a question regarding IP.
I have report where I can choose the line. I've already been able to catch the selected row there using ABAP Planning Function.
The requirement is to change some value from other customized table ( not info cube ) based on selected row.
So when user's selecting data and pressing a button, the idea is to prompt a variable where they can see the old value, and they can entry the new value. But to query that value, I need to select based on the values the row.
My Question is how user-exit in variable can read selected row in web planning layout especially it happens when I_step = 1 ?
Or the other idea is to get the value on that customized table and put it in text web item as the old value. How can I fetch data from table and put it in text web item ?
Thanks a lot and have a good day,

Hi.
My Question is how user-exit in variable can read selected row in web planning layout especially it happens when I_step = 1 ?
I think there is no way to do it. I_STEP=1 called before the report shows the data.
But may be the next approach could help you:
1. when you select line you can use command for populating variables according to selected line. let's say yohave selected line with costcenterr XXX so you can populate variable (let's say Z_CC) with selected value.
2. create FOX that reads variable Z_CC value and calls any function module with customized table and variable value (you can use CALL FUNCTION statement within FOX and pass to it variable value).
This is just an idea of some direction - may be you can take it and develope to required result.
Regards.

  • How to populate a table based on a row selection from another table.

Hi, i just started to use ADF BC and Faces. Could some one help me or point me a solution on the following scenario .
By using a search component , a table is being displayed as a search result. If i select any row in the resulted table , i need to populate an another table at the bottom of the same page from another view. These two tables are related by primary key . May i know how to populate a table based on a row selection from another table. Thanks
    ganesh

I understand your requirement and the tutorial doesn't talk about Association between the views so that you can create a Master-Detail or in DB parlance, a Parent-Child relationship.
I will assume that we are dealing with two entities here: Department and Employees where a particular Department has many Employees and hence a Parent-Child relationship.
Firstly, you need to create an Association between the two Entities - Department and Employees. You can do that by right clicking on the model's entity and then associating the two entities with the appropriate key say, DepartmentId.
Once you have done that, you need to link the two entities in the View section with this Association that you created. Then go to AppModule and make sure that in the Available View Objects: 'EmployeesView' appears under 'DepartmentView' as "EmployeesView via <link you created>". Shuttle the 'DepartmentView' to the right, Data Model and then shuttle
"EmployeesView via <link you created>" to the right, Data Model under 'DepartmentView'.
This will then be reflected in your Data Controls. After that, you simply would have to drag this View into your page as a Master-Detail form...and then when you run this page, any row selected in the Master table, would display the data in the Detail table.
Also, refer to this link: [Master-Detail|http://baigsorcl.blogspot.com/2010/03/creating-master-detail-form-in-adf.html]
    Hope this helps.

  • How to create a new table based out of old data rows

    Hi All,
How to create a new table based out of old data rows. Also how can we find out the DBF for different users in a database?
    Saqib

Not very clear what you need. I'll try to interpret...
How to create a new table based out of old data rowsIf this means how to create a table from an existing one, then you can do :
    SQL> create table <new table> as select * from <old table>;
if you need a subset of rows you can add a where clause.
how can we find out the DBF for different users in a database? Here I need some more clarification. What do you mean exactly ?

  • IRecruitment - custom page based on selected row in advanced table

    HI,
We are implementing an addition to iRec. From the vacancy search page I have added an extra image column called worklog to the advanced table. Within the attributes I have set the view instance and and view attribute to
    View Attribute VacancyId
    View Instance IrcVacancyVO
However this value does not get passed across. I have even called the image ID VacancyId in the hope that this value pair would be posted to the custom app I have written.
I know this is a pretty low tech question on here, but does anyone know how I can pass the id of the selected row acroos to my custom page?
    TIA,
    Simon

    Hi Simon,
In OATables we can not get the handle of current row.
The alternate solution is to call an AM method, execute the method and get the value from the VO row. Return it back to CO and then you can call your new page from the Search page in iREC.
it should work. Let me know if you are facing any problem.
    Thanks

  • Total based on selected rows

    Hi,
I have a column called record type and I would like to sub-total based on
selected rows from the record type at the bottom. how do I do it ?
    for ex:
    rtype load
    s - 100
    b - 150
    r - 200
    z - 10
    total load1 b+r - 350
    total load2 b+z - 160
    ------------------------------------------

You can use calculations in pivot tables to operate with distinct values of a column. You can create a new column (or row) as 'b' + 'r' record types. You can select wether to see original and total columns or only totals.
See 'Examples of Calculations in Oracle BI Pivot Tables' section in "Oracle® Business Intelligence Answers, Delivers, and Interactive Dashboards User Guide" document.

Any help would be higly appreciated.
    Raj

Interestingly enough I always had the same impression that you had to use a function to do this but found out from someone else that all you need to do is change the radio button from Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query to Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only). Apex will substitute your bind variable for you at run-time (something you can't normally do in pl/sql without using dynamic sql)

  • Create a variable in one table based on a value on another.

I have two existing tables, say TABLE1 and TABLE2.  I need to create a key variable in TABLE2 and insert values for that  variable from TABLE1 i.e. create an explicit relationship between the tables using a key variable.  There exists a relationship

  • How to prepare final internal table based on no. of records of individual t

    Hi all,
I have to prepare final internal table based on the no. of records of individual table. i.e.  I should append  the data from the table which has large no of records first. Then I should modify the final table with other individual tables. I have reservation list table(RESB), purchase  requisition table(EBAN), purchase order delivery schedules table(EKET) , GRs table (MESG) .I have prepared data for individual tables. We can't say particularly that this table'll have large no. of records always. So how can I append the first table into final internal table ? I have separate work areas for each table in my SMARTFORM.
Edited by: Jayasri P. on Aug 30, 2008 6:02 AM

    HI,
DESCRIBE TABLE statement with LINE addition will give you the no of record in an internal table.
    For further detail check,
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/fc/eb3798358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm
you can stire the LINE value of each and comare them to get the table with max record.

  • Hide multiple rows in a dynamic table based on the row value.

    Hi,
I need to hide multiple rows in a dynamic table based on the specific value of that row.
I cant find the right expression to do that.
    please help

Go to the Row Properties, and in the Visibility tab, you have "Show or hide based on an expression". You can use this to write an expression that resolves to true if the row should be hidden, false otherwise.
Additionally, in the Matrix properties you should take a look at the filters section, perhaps you can achieve what you wish to achieve through there by removing the unnecessary rows instead of just hiding them.
It's only so much I can help you with the limited information. If you require further help, please provide us with more information such as what data are you displaying, what's the criteria to hiding rows, etc...

  • How to read 'clicked header' AND selected row from multicolumn listbox?

I have a multicolumn listbox filled with 6 columns and about 500 rows.
I want the user to be able to click on a column header, and sort the listbox alphabetically on that column. I've written the code for that, and that works. (using the 'itemnames' en 'get clicked col hdr' properties.)
However, I also want to include the option, that when a user highlights a row, and then clicks on the header, that after the listbox gets sorted it scrolls down to the selected row.
(So that the user doesn't have to search for it)
And that's where things go wrong, because the value of the listbox changes to zero when you click on a column header. No I idea why it does that, but it's rather
annoying. Can I change that behaviour somehow?
Or any ideas how to get around it?

My thanks to you and Jared.
Seems I got a working solution now.
Did take a while to figure out why your solution worked. Basicly, you're reading the row from a few iterations before.
As soon as I understood that, I simplified it a little. Look at the attached file... I think it does the same. :-)
Jared asked for the sorting routine. As I don't seem to be able to attach files when replying to comments, I took the liberty to include it here also.
Basicly, I just use the 'sort 1D array' that comes with Labview 6. To be able to sort a 2D array, I convert every row to a cluster. That's something the 'sort 1D array' VI can handle nicely.
To sort on the correct column, I just cut all columns in front, and paste them behind again. A
fter sorting, I reverse the process.

  • How can I get the index of the selected row, ALV

In alv I need to get the selected row id and then calling a screen to show the detailed infomation on this row and providing the ability to update the row.
I know how to do but do not know how to get the selected index of the alv grid.
If it was desired based on just double click, it was ok but I have to provide a button and when it is clicked the detailed screen will come with the selected row details.
    Thanks everyone.
    Deniz.

    Hi Deniz,
While defining the internal table which u pass in ALV_GRID function module, define a field (suppose CHECK type c) in the structure of that internal table.
and while defining field layout, pass the value 'CHECK' to the field BOX_NAME of the layout.
Now, when you execute the report, a selection box will be displayed infront of every record. If you select that record and press the button on application tool bar, the field 'CHECK' in the internal table will be having the value 'X'... By looping throught this internal table where check = 'X', you can achieve your functionality.
    Example:
         Structure for output details
    TYPES: BEGIN OF GS_OUTPUT.
            INCLUDE STRUCTURE ZAS_WATER_QLTY_REP.
    TYPES: CHECK(1) TYPE C,
           END OF GS_OUTPUT.
        Internal    table for output details
DATA: GT_OUTPUT   TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF GS_OUTPUT.
Before calling the function module to display ALV
    grid, define a layout usine
    Local workarea
      DATA: LW_LAYOUT  TYPE SLIS_LAYOUT_ALV.
    Local constants
      CONSTANTS: LC_UFORM  TYPE SLIS_FORMNAME
                        VALUE 'ALV_USER_COMMAND'.

  • How do I get the values from a selected row.

I am using JDeveloper 9.0.5. On my page, I have placed a button within a table. The button has been assigned an event. The event is within my Action class. This class implements DataAction and has overriden the
    processComponentEvents(DataActionContext actionContext);
    method.
Question: While I am within the processComponentEvents method, is it possible to obtain the values of selected row?

    Good Morning Jeffery,
First off thanks for your clear explanation. I have a few related questions as noted from your response:
There are two ways to communicate the desired model row between the UIX view and the struts controller. One way is to use the singleSelection component in your table and put your buttons in the singleSelection's contents.
When the user selects the radio button for a particular row and then clicks on one the buttons, a built in event handler in UIX will set the current row in the model to be the user selected row. Therefore, your Struts action can operate on the currently selected model row.
When you drop a UIX table from the data control palette it is automatically set up in this way (with a single selection).
    Ok, Lets say that i've set everything up as you described. Not lets say that the button was pressed and I hit the overriddenprotected void processComponentEvents(DataActionContext actionContext) throws IOException, ServletException ;
When I look at the request object, I do not see the values. How do I get access to the rowkey at this point?
Some people, however, want to actually render buttons in their table rows, and have those buttons initiate an action on their row. If you are doing this, then you need to pass the row id to your struts action as a parameter, which means that you need to know the row id when you are rendering a button for a given row. There is an EL expression that will return the row-id for the current row, it is:
    ${uix.current.rowKeyStr}
which is not so obvious or well documented in the preview release (sorry) but should be for the production release.
A generic code snippet would go a long way to shedding some light on that. I guess I am use to using JDeveloper 9.0.3. It seems,"to me", that JDev 9.0.5 has put a completely new twist on things. I find myself wondering when I can use the 9.0.3 syntax and when
should not. If your team has any short source toys around which demonstrated using rowkeys, or accessing the internal parts of the
struts controller, I would find that invaluable. It dose not matter if this information is documented.
    Thank you

    hi all,
I need to know how to change the default color(yellow) of the selected row in a table component.whether i need to change anything in the stylesheet. If so, where should i make the changes in the stylesheet.
    thanks and regards,

The chart colors are being referred to *'palette.cxml'* file in these directories
    BI_HOME\web\app\res\s_oracle10\chartsupport
    BI_HOME\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\chartsupport
you can change to your custom colors.
Restart OC4J and PS to make the new ones work..

  • How to capture a  charateristics value from a selected row in IP

The requirements is to select a line in the summery layout and go to detail layout for further
    planning.
In BPS, it's very easy to achieve this, since we can use the variables in the WIB to capture the value of selected line, In IP's query, after click a row, the selected row is highlight, but I am not sure how can we  pass the characteristics value of the selected row into a variable.  I did the following test by defining a variable for a account number characteristics in the row of a query, and define a dropdown filter with that account variable, after the query is launched in IP, when I click a row in the query, the account number dropdown filter value did not display the corresponding account number I choose. Anybody know how to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance

Say your analysis item has 0material as one of the characteristics and say you can bind the material value on the selected line item to variable 'ZMAT' when the user clicks on a button. In the data binding section of the comand you want to perform when button is clicked you will make the fillowing settings:
    Variable - ZMAT
    Variable Type - 'SELECTION_BINDING
    Please give this a try.
