Reg.
Amol

Hello Amol,
In sales orders, when you write a item material SAP makes it an automatic determination for the plant who belongs to master data information. The first step for SAP search strategy is find over the Customer Material Information, if it does not have information it makes the second step and search information over the Ship-to party, and the third step its search in the master material. If it does not find information, SAP does not propose a plant for that item material.
Taken this process in consideration and for this reason, the item material made the Availability Check for one particular plant.
If do you like to know more about your material stocks, one option its search the quantity available for sales in the plants using the MB52 transaction; and other option could be over your sales order, in the Availability Control, go in the menu to u201CGo tou201D, u201COthers Plantsu201D; or if your prefer you can use u201CShift+F5u201D.

  • One common plant for 15 company code , is it

    Dear Friends,
I have to make 15 company codes , but all company code have common plant that is centralised plant (1CEN) , but in SAP system does not accept it.
System gives message- "this plant is allready assinged to company code - XXX "
    How can solve this ?
    Regards,
    Mahesh.

    Hi,
One plant can not be assigned to multiple company codes, as plant/plants is/are company code specific
The concept of company code is a business organization with association or collection of individual of real persons who each invested some form of capital. This group of individuals has a common purpose of installing plant; manufacture goods and sale the goods aiming for gaining profits which in turn company with company code is itself considered a "legal person". So in this system how other company code can come & do activities {Manufacturing, Processing, and Selling) in the same plant with same sales area.

  • Restrict PO creation for multiple plants for same company code

    Hi Gurus,
We want to restrict PO creation for multiple plants in the same company code. Based on Standard SAP settings for Purchasing organization assignment with multiple Plant and multiple Plant assignment with single company code, this is happening. Is there a way that we can restrict by doing some customization change.
Any thoughts or ideas will be highly appreciating.
    Thanks and Best regards,
    Karun Kumar

    Hi,
Said functionality is not available in SAP standard.
To avoid the same ,i can suggest implement release strategy for PO,and then higher authority / commercial team can check created PO,if multiple plants available in single po then they have the option of rejection for the same.
Or else check BADI-ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST,take the help from abapor and apply the restriction to select multiple plant in PO.
Hope this will resolve your query,

  • Availability check across several plants

    Hi there,
I am an SD consultant and I try to see which solution we can implement for the following need: we want to check the stock at 2 different plants (belonging to 2 different company codes) as they were 1 plant. Meaning we want to do availability check across 2 plants. And when creating the delivery, the system should consider all batches from the 2 plants.
Is it possible to do this in SAP R/3 (via user exits)? Is it possible to do this in SAP APO?
    Best regards,
    Benjamin van Eeckhout

    Hi Frank,
Thanks for your answer.  If I understand you correctly, you need to define the plant and batch in the access sequence.  This is not going to help us then, as we don't know which plant the system will have to look first at.  Is it possible to define a rule, saying for example: FIFO in plants 1 and 2 - without specifying which one to look at first.
Alternatively, can you search for all possible batches in both plants and then sort them by expiring date? (by not indicating that it should be an "exclusive" search)?

  • Urgent: Maintain std cost for plants under different company codes

    Hi all,
    Company code(s)/Plant(s): C1/P1, C2/P2, ..., CnPn
BOMs and Routings are maintained under P1. I believe that unlike BOM routing can't be made available across plants. So how does one maintain std cost across plants under different company codes?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You have to maintain individual BOM, Routing and varaint for all plants.

  • Single Purchase Order for different Plants of Different Company Codes

    Hi Experts,
    I have a scenario, My Client has 3 Company Codes (1000, 2000, 3000 )
    Company Code 1000 has 2-Plants    ( A001 and A002 )
    Company Code 2000 has 1-Plant      ( B001 )
    Comapny Code 3000 has  3-Plants   ( C001, C002, C003 )
All these 3-Company codes has centralised purchase organisation.
My Client requirement is to raise a single purchase order for external vendor, for all the plants A001, A002 which is in one company code and similarly in same Purchase Order for B001 plant which belongs to 2000 Company Code and Similarly for same purchase order for C001, C002, C003 plant which belongs to 3000 Company Code.
1)Is it possible to raise a Single Purchase to External Vendor for plants of Different Company Codes ?
2)Does it affect the accounting document ?
3)How to inward and where to inward these goods ? with respect to plant wise ?
    Please Guide with Valuable inputs.
    Thanks in Advance

    1) How about Profit Centre ? We have Framed each Profit Centre with respect to Plant
Why should there be a problem?
2)In Case of Migo does we have to be careful and do stepwise MIGO with respect to different Plants ?
of course people have to be careful when performing transactions.
if you have multiple items in a PO then you can easily receive all items in one go. So people have to careful and need to check if they really received each of the PO items. Especially if people have authorization for many plants, then the user who is usually performing the receipts for plant A can easily post the receipts of plant B too.
    3) How to Process MIRO ? Can we process Partial MIRO"S with respect to Line-items of those particular Plants ?
MIRO allows to post the invoice like it is send to you from your vendor. If it is just for a part of your PO then this is just a fact and MIRO allows to post this kind of invoices too.

  • Can Equipment No same for 2 Equip in different Plants of same company code?

    Hi Gurus,
Please tell me if there is any possibility of having same Equipment No for 2 Equipments in Different Plants.
The 2 plants are in the Same Company code.
                e.g.  Equip           Plant                Company Code
                   1)  Equip_DIE    Plant1              A
                   2)  Equip_DIE    Plant2              A
If it is possible how the Equipment histroy and Breakdown history is updated in the PMIS.
Also tell me the advantages and Disadvantages of keeping same Equipment no for 2 diiferernt Equipments or otherwise keeping different equipment no.
    With best regards,
    Narendra Dere

    Hi Pete ,
              Thanks for your valuable reply.
Actually I am doing implementation for 5 plants within same Company Code.
They are geographically distant (say 50km from each Other.)
The Finish Product is same but the method is different.
They have already assigned some Equipment Numbers in the Plant for Regular Maintenance Activities.
Since Planning and Maintenance can be done at the different Plant and team of the MAintenance is different, they dont hv anyproblem if equipment number is same. Otherway they wll have the added advantage that they can continue with there own Equipment no which can be same in differnt Plant.
           e.g 800TONPRESS - Plant1
                800TONPRESS - Plant 2.
       With best regards,

Kindly help me out with this case, i want to create a STO for two plants within DIFFERENT company codes, so i've created all the required configuration and master data including creating the supplying plant as a vendor and the ordering plant as a customer, also all master data is maintained in both plants and i tried the scenario on the IDES system and it works okay so i know i'm on the right procedures. The problem is that i create the PO, but when i go to Transaction Code VL10B to create the delivery it gives me an error ( Delivery with no Line item not allowed ) even though there is more than enough stock in the storage location. Kindly help me out.

    This is the whole table.
This is what i got. i believe that it is an availability check problem, i just can't see what is the solution.

  • Valuation at plant level and company code level

    Hi,
Can someone explain me the difference between the valuation at plant level and company code level with a real world example?
    Regards,
    Malsha Kalubowila

    Hi,
Inventory can be valuated at two levels either at company code level or at plant level. If you select valuation at company code level, all materials across all the plants will have same material price since valuation is at only company code level.
Say for example Company code 1000 is buying a material which unit price is Rs. 10 from a vendor who supplies to two different plant A & B of company code 1000.  Assume Plant A is situated near vendor premises itself (so freight cost is Re 1 extra)  whereas plant B is situated at far away from vendor place (so freight cost rs 2 extra) and both cases freight cost is borne by the company and not by vendor.
Assuming you have selected valuation at plant level, now in plant A same material will be valauted at Rs. 11 (10 +1) whereas at plant B it is valuated at Rs. 12 (10+2).
Whereas if you have selected valuation at company code level, price will not be valuated at plant level rather at company code level which will get updated at moving average price in this case.
So it is always best practice to select valuation at plant level rather than at company code level.

  • STO from Plant to Plant in same Company Code

    Dear All ,
Please give me brief idea about STO(with screen ) from Plant to Plant in same Company Code
    ganga

    Dear Ganga Mukerjee
    Welcome to SDN
There are plenty of threads available on this topic in both SD general,Sales and MM forums
    Please make a search
As this is your first qn i am giving here with some simple steps for STO from Plant to Plant in same Company Code via SD route
    INTRA COMPANY STO.
    1. There should be two plants in the given company code for intra STO to
    happen.
    2. Assign Purchasing org of the ordering to the supplying plant.
    3. Create a customer in the supplying sales area.
    4. Assign the customer to the ordering sales area.
    5. IMG > MM > Purchasing > PO > Setup STO > Define shipping data for plants
here go to supplying plant and mention its own sales area.
    6. In the ordering plant assign the customer created in the supplying sales area
and also the supplying sales area.
    7. Maintain checking rule as 01.
    8. Assign the delivery type NL supplying plant checking rule and PO Doc type
    UB.
    9. Assign document type UB supplying plant and ordering plant then decide up
on either 1 step or 2 steps.
    10. Create PO with doc type UB.
    11. Go to VL10B give the PO No. and enter, select the line item and click back
ground. (Where Del. Will be created in the back ground)
    12. Go to VL02N for picking and PGI.
    13. If 1 step no need of doing MIGO else for 2 steps do MIGO.
    Hence forth make search
