AVCHD audio mixdown - how can I avoid this?

Importing AVCHD (AG-HMC150) using Log and Transfer. Doing this mixes the 2 audio tracks down to stereo, something I do not want FCP to do. Anybody out there got a good workaround to this problem as I need to keep the audio tracks separate.

Anyone at Apple know if they intend to fix this problem or if they are working on it. Sure would be a great help.

While my situation isn't the same as yours, it's a similar problem. We often use a Firestore on-camera recorder to record QuickTime files live to the unit's hard drive. When importing them into FCP, they have two audio channels set up as stereo. The workaround I use is to load all of the clips into a blank Timeline, select all and hit Option l (lowercase L) to change to two non-stereo and then Command l (lowercase L again) to unlink the audio from the video. I then delete the channel I don't need and set the pan on the first clip to 0 (centered). I copy that clip and then paste the Pan attribute to the remaining audio clips.
I know it sounds convoluted but it works and actually takes less than a minute to do all the clips.

Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com. Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

If you mean you're about to perform a restore from a backup to a new device, it depends on the app. Some will retain their passwords, some will not. That's my experience.

If you have a case on the phone, take it off. It may be interfering with the proximity sensor. If you have a screen protector, take it off. It may be interfering with the proximity sensor. Make sure you actually old the phone against your ear. if you hold it away from your ear, the proximity sensor may not be able to tell that you have it up to your face.

That is not very easy to answer, because the cause of the corruption is unknown.<br />
In severe cases you may even need to delete the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies.<br />
There is also a possibility that security software or cleanup software is causing such problems.
If you've never seen it before then it may not happen again, but it is not that difficult to remove the cookies in such a case.

Great question! Managing your data usage is definitely important. You can view what apps are using data by going to Settings and then Mobile data on your phone. There is will show you the apps using data.
If you want to avoid the data usage on the apps you want to make sure you close out the apps when not in use. You can also make sure that they are not automatically updating whenever there is a new update to the app. To do this simply go to the Play Store and select Menu. Then go to Settings and there you will see the option to change the auto update to update over wifi only.
If you want to complete turn off data, just go to Settings and then mobile network and turn it off. Keep me posted if you need further assistance.

Old operating systems allowed you to click on recipients when sending emails without adding a comma after each address. Now with the new and improved system, I have to stop and add a comma after each name. How can I avoid this?

With the new OSX system, whenever I send an email with multiple recipients, I need to physically add a comma after each address. I never needed to do that with all the other older systems, it was done automatically. How can I fix this frustrating glitch?

option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. That's just the way I do it. There are probably better ways. I think I tried pasting from MS-Word to Dreamweaver and then to the blog, but there was still a lot of re-formatting that needed to be done (if I recall correctly).
