Avoid automatic insertion of CR's and LF's

Hello!
How can I avoid the automatic insertion of CR's and LF's by JSP tags?
I am developing a XHTML application with Cocoon which uses JSPs. One of my "pages" is composed of a list of images which need to be inserted side by side, without any spaces between them. I am using JSTL (forEach tag) to iterate through my images' collection. Although the resulting XHTML has white spaces between the images (XHTML converts CR's and LF's to one white space).
I can only have the correct behavior if my JSP has only one line (every tag on the same line), which is not User Friendly, and I want to avoid.
Any help would be welcome.

I'm not exactly sure what you're describing, but I do know that tags and scriptlets that don't give display, convert to whitespace in the resulting document.
If I could remember who first discovered this I'd give credit, because it's saved me some grief, but all you have to do (if this is your issue) is make sure that the closing brace of a tag or scriptlet is on the same line as the next starting brace (tag or html.)<%@ page ...
%><jsp:useBean ...
/><HTML>
<%
...some code here...
%><BODY>etc.

I would also recommend to write the description into the meta data. This would allow to place a text frame above the image and it is possible to add meta information and file name automatically together with the image, when you place it or even in a prepared template.
Meta data information can be written easily in Bridge in the Meta File Workspace.

Process events and business functions: automatic insertion of process event

Here is the scenario: I defined (in Designer 9.0.4.5.6) a number of business functions. Some of them are basic functions, others are Business Rules. When I am trying to link them up the following happens: I have a function FUNCCON31 that I want to connect to BR_OK41. In FUNCCON31 I define under the Triggering node the BR_OK41 by means of the Create Reference button.
This is accepted by Designer, but more often than not after this has been done I requery and I will find that instead of the BR_OK41 a Process Event (PE) will have replaced the BR_OK41. For the sake of argument this PE is named END-CON31. When I move to this PE, it will have a number of nodes underneath its definition. One of them will say Triggered by Functions, another Triggering Functions and they are filled with the correct To and From references; it all makes sense. Elements are linked up appropriately, but where does this seemingly automatic insertion of the PE come from??? It is annoying as I have not specifically defined it. Am I missing something vital?
Hope somebody takes trouble to read this scenario and please get back to me, as it driving me insane. Thanks in advance!

Always remember to start the process the itemtype/itemkey combination should be unique. When you try to start the second process through the event, the itemkey remains same for the second process. So it will not start the process, aslo it will not show any error.
To avoid this try to call the process of another itemtype. Or else if you want to create both process under same itemtype, you have to write a rule function and change the event key in the rule function.

the original apple id was entered incorrectly. Apple says it must be a email address. My email address is correct but the letter ( t ) somehow got added to the (.com) so that when i try to enter my id it is automaticly loaded with the email address the ends ( .comt ) . According to Apple this is not a "legal" email id. But it appears on my dropdown in gray and i cannot alter it or delete it, thus preventing me from downloading software updates.

When all of the materials at the order are producedi I want to triger the availability check but availability check triggered autpmatically when for the first time the order is created. This can be done 2 ways
1.if you want individual material stocks to be checked for avialbility and deliver them independently then check whether you are using requirement type KSV.
2. If you want to send the group of materials together and do not want to send a material which is part of group individually ,you can use delivery group with Sales Bill of material concept . the header material may be a fantom assembly .
The delivery group is set at the item category level ,so u can set it for the item categories u want to go together.
for example all text package inserts ,extra spares and a material must go together, they will be part of delivery group.

You can achieve it either thru creating an access sequence and assigning the same to the condition type thru customization follow path SPRO - Material management - Purchasing - Conditions - Define access sequences. Later assign the access sequence to conditon vide trasnsaction m/06.
Incase of achieving it thru master, you can then create an inforecord for the material/vendor combinations and all the conditions maintained in the inforecord could flow automatically.

One thing I can't figure out is if it is possible to use a function to automatically insert the filename in the footer of a page (or anywhere else for that matter)? Having the file name on printouts is great for finding old files, and Word has such a function that inserts it when the file is first saved. It is a real time saver when using a template (or old file) to create new files.

In Numbers 3.x, The Print View and Layout View have gone (for now at least). Page Headers and Footers can only be reached under Menu > File > Print... to open Print Preview. Hover the cursor to reveal the Page Header and Footer fields.
The only inserts that I can get to work in Print Preview are Page Number, Page Count and Date & Time. Filename is no longer in the Insert menu.

Automatic insertion in text box?

Hello,
Here is the problem...I have existing .indd document, and it needs to be printed into large number of pdf files. Each pdf file must have different text in one textbox (located in master frame). Is there any way i could automate the process? Not so much for printing, but for automatic insertion of that text line by mouse click/command? I figure that automatic printing would be difficult, since each file goes to different folder...
This would not be the case if it was one time job, but I am doing it manually for a long time, each several days

Automatic printing to specified folders and automatic shifting of data fields seems like to complicated, and like something indesign was not designed to do...so it can be skipped Tnx!

Automatic insertion of spaces in telephone numbers in iPhone OS 3.0.1

I think there are two annoying behaviors in iPhone OS 3.0.1:
• if you go to contacts, create a new contact and enter a telephone number there will be inserted automatically spaces into the telephone number. One the one hand this behavior can be very practical (for example if iPhone 3.0.1 identify thereby already used formats of telephone numbers), on the other hand this behavior can be very annoying (for example if you want to create a special format for one telephone number). If you synchronize telephone numbers from your iMac to your iPhone, iPhone OS 3.0.1 put also automatically spaces into synchronized numbers.
• there is also missing a hyphen in the number keyboard to insert into the telephone number in iPhone OS 3.0.1.
First I think it would be a very good if there would be a function in iPhone OS 3.1 which deactivates the automatic insertion of spaces, secondly I think there should be a a hyphen in the number keyboard to insert into the telephone number in iPhone OS 3.0.1.
How do you think about my suggestions?

How do I make numbers automatically insert date of table entry?

Hi, I am monitoring time spent on a computer, so every time I log a time on my table in numbers I want it to automatically insert the date of that entry in the next column, I do not know how to do this,

Hi Henri,
There is no way to have an automatic time stamp in Numbers. Once you double click on a cell you can go to Menu>Insert>Date & Time and get a time samp that way.

Is it possible to add automatic insertions in a RH 7 template?

I'm new to RoboHelp and to HTML altogether, but learning quickly. I'm developing a help system with both General help and How to's. I was wondering if it possible to add automatic insertions in a RoboHelp HTML 7 template, as you would in a Word .dot with macros, or if I need to repeat creating tables and numbered steps all the time.

Okay, clearer now what you need to accomplish.
You could take a couple of approaches.
Approach one - Create a topic and define a table. Configure as you would like to see it. Then when you need it, you open the topic containing the table, copy it and paste it where you need to use it.

Avoid an insertion in a table

I'm trying to create a trigger in order to avoid some undesiderable insertions in a table of my DB. I check some basic rules of the data and I would like that in some cases the insertion won't be committed, but if I use a raise_application_error in my trigger, an error appears informing me that the number of the exception is out of range, and I can't make a rollback inside the trigger.
I've tried to insert the wrong data in other table and program other after insert trigger on this auxiliary table to drop the incorrect data, but without possitive result. The code of both triggers is as follow:

One thing if you want to do a rollback or commit inside a trigger is using autonomous transaction inside a trigger..Please find the sample code for that which might be useful in your case
