Avoid browser close before quiz finish

Hi
i have created one Quiz web application using VS 2008 and i have set 10 min time using timer control to finish the quiz. User should not close the browser before he finishes the quiz within 10 min. After 10 min he can able to close browser close button or
logout.
How to achieve this using C# and asp.net. If anybody knows, please reply me.
Thanks in advance.

  • File browser closes

    Following a recent upgrade to OS X Mavericks I'm having problems with using the file browser when trying to upload a file - example, facebook or Google+ upload image. I click on the appropriate button to open the browser, it opens for a short while, maybe a second or two, then closes before a file can be picked.

    I can confirm a similar problem here. Any instance of using the file browser, it opens up and is fine until I double click on any folder. It immediately closed.
    It still does it with all extensions disabled and just for fun, in safe mode.
    I've restored & restarted. I've also gone for a completely fresh install.
    Drag and drop of files, on pages that support it, work fine.
    I see you had a similar problem during a beta phase but couldn't reproduce.

  • Capturing browser close event

    Hello everyone,
    Even though this question has been answered before, I find that none of the answers seem to work for me.
    My problem is the following: Locks are placed on records and tables at certain points in my application. But if the user simply closes the browser without closing the application properly, all the locks are still in place. So I need to catch an event that allows me to ABAP my way out of this.
    I have the following BSP page which loads my application:
    function startBSPApplication()
    function endBSPApplication()
      <frameset id="<%=guid %>_FRAMESET" rows="*,0" onload="startBSPApplication('<%=guid %>_A');" onunload="exitBSPApplication();" noresize framespacing="0" frameborder="0" border="0">
        <frame name="<%=guid %>_A" src="session_default_frame.htm">
        <noframes>This browser does not support frames.</noframes>
      </frameset>
    The start and end functions simply start and end a session, and I find myself unable to actually call an ABAP function in there. All ABAP code placed inside the javascript functions is called everytime the page is loaded, not everytime the function is called and that's not what I want.
    I also already tried the <bsp:htmlbEvent> tag, but I couldn't get that to work either. I tried it like this:
    Notice however that I wrote this on top of the frameset. Does this mean that the onunload event will be called twice and does this cause a problem?
    I tried to call the onDestroy event from within my endBSP function, but nothing happened either.
    <htmlb:content design="design2003" >
      <htmlb:page title="Capture browser close " >
        <htmlb:form>
          <bsp:htmlbEvent id      = "myid"
                          onClick = "onDestroy"
                          name    = "onDestroy"/>
          <script for="window" event="onunload"  type="text/javascript">
               alert('Starting the Server Event');
               onDestroy();
           </script>
        </htmlb:form>
      </htmlb:page>
    </htmlb:content>
    Does anybody have another suggestion, or notice me overlooking something?
    Thank you in advance,
    Niels.

    Hi Eddy,
    I can't find anything really helpful in that blog. Except maybe adding the onbeforeunload attribute to my frameset and calling a JS function to back it up.
    The problem still persists that any ABAP you put in a JS function is executed regardless of wether or not the function is actually called.
    I need to get to my DO_HANDLE_EVENT somehow when the user closes the window.

  • Browser close button / unload event

    Hi,
    In Ie8 session is carrying when i close the browser using X button. Is there any way to capture this browser close button or any portal unload event.
    Thanks
    Manu

    There is no clean way to do this. The only way i know of is to have a private global javascript variable true/false (true = show the popup, false = show popup) where the default value is true. On every click of link / form submit where you need the popup to be suppressed , set the value as false. (you can do this using a js library which can attach events to onsubmit, onclick of all links)
    However the behavior you are proposing is really , really annoying (as a user), consider your interface before implementing something like this. Valid usecases are prompting the user to save changes before leaving the page, not you are leaving the website (Thats why i typed something or closed the browser)

  • Can Flex detect browser close event?

    Is Flex notified by the browser when the browser is closed

    Thanks for your reply.
    I found a good example that I followed and got it working:

  • Record "logout" on Browser close

    Is there a way to record a browser close? We're trying to track user's time inside the application. I've already instituted a trigger to catch the login and record, but unless the user actually uses the logout link in the application, I am stuck. Is there a way to activate a PL/SQL code snippet when the browser is closed? Can I institute this on Page 0?

    You could use some javascript to catch the window.onbeforeunload event, but that is kludge to say the least... I believe there is a plugin for APEX 4.0 that might help here...: http://www.apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/dynamic-action-plugin/skillbuilders-save-before-exit_43.html
    They claim it will handle the browser closing as an event.. So you could use this to catch them closing the browser..
    Thank you,

    I don't know what your problem is, but I bet it's hard to pronounce.

  • Screens are freezing before quiz slides

    Hi,
    I am working with a course where the screen right before a quiz slide will freeze when you click Forward and it won't load the quiz slides. It doesn't happen for every browser, but its happening for the majority (IE 10,9; all versions of Chrome).
    I'm using Captivate 7 on Windows 7 and testing in Chrome 32.
    Has anyone experienced this before? I've never seen this happen.
    Thanks,
    Kristen

    Does anyone else have any thoughts about how this could be happening? I had it happen in another course and the screens only freeze on slides right before quiz slides. Each of those slides happened to have Advanced Actions on them...the actions are there to show/hide smart shapes with text so that it acts as a button.
    Does that create any issues with the freezing?
    The quiz settings are 80% passing grade, they have 2 attempts for each quiz slide, they are only multiple choice questions, they get 10 points for correct answers...what other settings do you need to know?
    The screens are only freezing in IE10, Chrome 31, Chrome 23, and Chrome 17. It doesn't seem to be happening in IE 11, Chrome 32, or Safari. Could the older browsers be creating a problem? Or our SWF output? We're setting it at Flash Player 10.
    Thanks for any help. I can't figure this one out...

    Hi,
    Do you get any errors in the Jinitiator Java Console?

    Does this happen with single form or all forms? Did you try to regenerate the form from adadmin?
    Also, check if you have any invalid objects in the database.
    And, make sure all pop-up blockers are disabled.

  • Modal Dialog won't close before tasks complete..

    Hi all,
    Basic, but quite infuriating problem. Because Illustrator doesn't allow palette type windows, nothing can happen whilst the dialog is open. So, I've been using scripts I wrote over six months ago now for producing sets of scale elevations of my designs with filled out title-blocks etc.. Which have literally saved me a good half-hour per drawing set I need to produce.
    The time has come for a test function for one of the parameters in my dialog though, because at the moment it requires careful judgement to guestimate the number and a failure means a lot of undoing (deleting a dozen files that the script creates once it starts etc).
    So I've coded in a test button into my dialog, setup the callback handler onClick and tested everything, and the sequence of events I would like to occur is as follows;
    Dialog closes - dlg.close()
    My Scaling operation occurs
    The script pauses for three seconds
    then undoes the action - app.undo()
    and reopens the dialog - dlg.show()
    Every one of these events is tried and tested.. But they occur out of order when I run the script because each action runs at a different rate. setTimeout also doesn't work in Adobe's javascript (at least not in Illustrator), so I can't individually delay items.
    So I've been testing bits in isolation to troubleshoot.. And I'm most concerned that the dialog close before any actions run - as this seems to cause the hold-up. A friend who is far more adept than I tells me it's because the dialog takes ownership, and as such the script dies if the dialog closes. If this is the case, is there a way I can create a false parent or prevent the dialog from doing this?
    Try this code to see what I mean - clicking test should close the dialog, pause for three seconds and display its message.
    If you comment out the while and if statements and their respective closing braces, you'll see that the dialog holds before closing. That code is there to ensure it closes before doing anything.
    You should run this from Extendscript so you can halt it - else it will loop indefinitely. Note that Extendscript does behave differently; Illustrator halts when you click test, Extendscript appears to close the dialog but does nothing thereafter, however it still loops.
    var test;
    // Pause Function
    function pause(msec)
    var done = null;
    var date = new Date();
    var curDate = null;
    do curDate = new Date();
    while(curDate-date < msec);
    var done = 1;
    return done;
    dlg = new Window('dialog', 'Parameter Entry', [0,0,480,384]);
    dlg.center();
    dlg.testField = dlg.add('panel', [20,65,460,105], 'Scale Factor');
    dlg.testField.titleEt = dlg.testField.add('button', [385,5,420,25], 'Test', {name: 'testButton'});
    dlg.add('button', [315,337,385,360], 'OK', {name: 'ok'});
    dlg.add('button', [395,337,465,360], 'Cancel', {name: 'cancel'});
    function testButtonOnClick()
    dlg.closeresult = dlg.close(1);
    while (dlg.closeresult < 1) {
    if (dlg.closeresult == 1) {
    pause(3000);
    alert('If you can make this display - email me!');
    // TEST SEQUENCE (CLOSE DIALOG, SCALE IMAGE, 3SEC PAUSE, UNDO, REOPEN DIALOG)
    dlg.testField.testButton.onClick = testButtonOnClick;
    dlg.result = dlg.show();
    if (dlg.result == 1) { // OK
    // MAIN PROGRAM CODE

    Erm, well, I'd say that your nested loop will have 100 iterations. I assume you are missing a break statement somewhere but as I don't know your application...
    One other observation - surely the if statement (in the else if) is not required? Either something is equals or it is not?
    Whoops - sorry - 81 iterations as pointed out below!

  • Trouble detecting browser close in Internet Explorer

    Please help!
    I'm trying to detect when the browser closes (or tab closes, or page reloads, etc.) so that I can save user information. I've followed the advice of others on the web, and have it working with Firefox, but not IE. The code in my wrapper is below, which attempts to get access to the embedded swf object a variety of ways to presumably handle multiple browsers. PLEASE HELP!
    //  Function to get a reference to the embedded swf file
                        function getFlashMovieObject(movieName)
                          if (window.document[movieName])
                              return window.document[movieName];
                          if (navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft Internet") == -1)
                            if (document.embeds && document.embeds[movieName])
                              return document.embeds[movieName];
                          else // if (navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft Internet") != -1)
                            return document.getElementById(movieName);
    Here's the code that calls this function:
                        window.onbeforeunload = function()
                            var myApp = getFlashMovieObject("MySwf");
                            return myApp.onCloseApplication();
    Here's the code that embeds the swf:
                      var flashVars = {};
                      var strHref = window.location.href;
                      if ( strHref.indexOf("?") > -1 )
                            var strQueryString = strHref.substr(strHref.indexOf("?")+1);
                            var aQueryString = strQueryString.split("&");
                            for ( var iParam = 0; iParam < aQueryString.length; iParam++ )
                                var aParam = aQueryString[iParam].split("=");
                                flashVars[aParam[0]] = aParam[1];
                    var params = {};
                    params.quality = "high";
                    params.bgcolor = "#ffffff";
                    params.allowscriptaccess = "sameDomain";
                    var attributes = {};
                    attributes.id = "MySwf";
                    attributes.name = "MySwf";
                    attributes.align = "middle";
                      //create your instance of your SWF
                      swfobject.embedSWF("MySwf.swf", "flashContent", "100%", "100%", "10.0.0", "expressInstall.swf",
                        flashVars, params,attributes);

  • Production Order: warning when Basic finish date is before scheduled finish

    Hello experts,
    We will set in config OPU3 (scheduling parameters for prod order) Adjust dates = 2 Do not adjust basic dates, ... Essentially this will allow the shop floor controller to change scheduled date ie. production dates without affecting basic dates.
    With this setup the system may display in the header of an order the scheduling note "Basic finish date is before scheduled finish" as well as generate a scheduling log "Scheduled finish is after basic finish date" (message 36 mess class C7).
    These messages are not enough visible for our planners. I would like to find a way to generate a warning before save. I tried to add a record in OPJB: message class CO no. 533 "Scheduled date & is after the requirements date &" but this doesn't work.
    Note: I tried to add message class C7 no 36 in OPJB but got the error "Please enter a legal value".
    Have you been able to add message in table OPJB ? Is it a good idea or the only option is enhancement?
    Thanks for sharing your ideas.
