Avoid messages to keep ringing

In fact I have two questions about Messages.
When receiving a new message with screen locked, I shows a banner. No problem, it is what I set in Notifications Settings.If my phone is on my desk, for instance, and I receive a new text, I can read it in the banner and in most cases it's enough for me. But If I don't open it or reply, phone plays message alert sound again 1 minute later. Is there a way to disable that?
I use IMessage in OSX too. If application window is behind another window and I get a new message, it will show on my phone too. Again, Notification in the top right corner already showed the message, I already read it and if I do nothing, it will show on my phone.
Okay, you'll think I'm afraid of ringtones, but I just want to avoid receiving unnecessary notifications.

I never saw that option in the Iphone. It's a good idea from Apple to repeat Notifications, but I really don't need it.
And about the messages between OSX and IOS, I understand but still don't like it. I'm working like the attached image right now, and my phone is near my keyboard. If Imessage app is not in the first plan, I get a notification in the desktop and another one in my phone. It doesn't really bother me, but maybe they will have an option in the future something like "I'm working in my desktop now, so keep my messages only here".

My phone keeps ringing at all hours day and night

I think it might be from skype because I noticed a strange California area code phone number once and a friend said that was a phony number that skype uses to send out calls. I think you can try contacting your telephone service provider first for possibly more specific/accurate information. Then if it is indeed a Skype number/call, you can submit a report to Skype.

After "slide to unlock" keeps ringing

Hello,
I've got an iPhone 5c and sometimes when I receive a message and unlock my phone, it keeps ringing to say I have a message whilst I'm reading the message.
The only way to turn the ringing off is to press the top button... Otherwise it keeps ringing until it's finished.
I've looked everywhere for a solution, does anyone else have one?

Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone continuing to ring after you unlock it.
I recommend following these steps for an issue like this (you can skip 4 because it does not relate to the issue you are experiencing and any other steps you may have taken):
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

FaceTime keeps ringing?

My FaceTime keeps,ringing on my iPad and the person on the other end gets no message from me even with their FaceTime open.

We had the same issue, and just solved it. Our firewall software (MacAfee) was upgraded and suddenly we could no longer facetime anyone. I found a combination of ports that needed to be opened b4 facetime would work.
53 TCP
80 TCP
443 (TCP)
4080 TCP
3478     through 3497 (UDP)
5223     (TCP)
16384     through 16387 (UDP)
16393     through 16472 (UDP)
It's kind of strange, but Apple support showed these ports should be open, but not all of the ports were listed together in the same response from apple support. I had opened the UDP ports, and the highest TCP port, but I couldn't get facetime to work till I opened the lower TCP ports also (which were contained in a support response thread for older model ipods (we have gen4).

New message window keeps popping up

The new message window keeps popping up without prompting, usually twice in a row. I notice
this particularly when I first open the Mail program. The funny thing is that you can't actually type in any text in the new message window. Any ideas???

It seemed to work itself out after several days.

I keep getting a notification that says "Google Talk authentication failed"...does anyone know how to get rid of this? I tried looking for it in the apps but not really sure what google talk is or how to get rid of this message that keeps popping up.

Good afternoon! I'm glad I can be here to help with this error. In the device this application is identified only as 'Talk', so that be more familiar to you. First I recommend opening the 'Market' app on your phone, then Menu>My Apps to see if this application requires an update. It will display a list on top of all applications that need to be updated. If nothing exists, tap 'Home' and go into 'Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Talk, then tap 'Clear Cache' and 'Clear Data' to remove the history of that application and stop the notifications. The app will remain on your phone for future use, if you desire to take advantage of it. Read more about Google Talk here

The cheek of the matter is everytime I tried to get Apple support it comes up with a request for me to pay $54 for their support package, to fix a problem I didn't have until I complied to one of their update requests.

Anyhow, I wound up "fixing" the problem by using the System Restore disks for the Mini. It's now running Tiger 10.4.11 (with all updates) and I copied my iTunes library over. It all works now. <shrug> I have no idea what the problem was, and I'm a bit leery of upgrading it to Leopard, so I think I'll just leave well enough alone.

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) This problem has been fixed. I rebooted my laptop after clearing my Firefox cache and deleting all cookies. Once my laptop was rebooted, I opened Firefox and now I can access the regular YouTube site, not the mobile site.

Fax keeps ringing on Officejet 5740

I just purchased an Officejet 5740. It is hooked up to a fax line - a line used only for faxes. When I print something (or sometimes when I don't) the fax will ring but there will be no fax. This happens over and over again. The tech said to take out the power cord for a minute...which I did. Unfortunately, while he was on the phone it did ot ring so it looked like this solved the problem. It did not. It keeps ringing every few minutes. Can you help? I have never heard of this type of issue. I checked for a firmware update for your model and didn't one.
Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. Messaging Bridge keeps dying

I am using weblogic 10.3 on sunos and i am seeing this issue where the messaging bridges keep dying ever so often(once or twice a week). I have over 15 servers in the weblogic domain but out of them only 2-3 messaging bridges die at random. The issue is compounded by the fact that the weblogic logs say unable to connect to source destination will retry later but weblogic never retries. I can't see any configuration where i can configure duration and number of retries for messaging bridges. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Ok is there a way anyone knows of by which we can reset the messaging bridge from the admin console without having to restart the managed server?
