Avoiding logging in on lion

Is there a way to avoid logging in again after you've stepped away from your computer for a few minutes?

This is what I read and it seemed to resolve the situation.
"Edit: Should note under System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Log out after X minutes of inactivity is not selected."

I never discovered the problem, and instead rebuilt the server from the ground up. I followed instructions at this discussion thread. Very helpful.

I have had some log-in problems with users. I have found that restarting the server helps. If this doesn't work, I rebuild permissions on the server, followed by opening up Workgroup Manager, go to the user's password, click on options and require that the user change password on the next log-in. For some reason, this will usually fix the problem. I then log in as the user, and "change" the password to the original one. Also note, that if you import a user, the password is not brought in. You must enter it for each user that you imported. Even so, I have often had to resort to the re-set password procedure to enable a log-in.

No volume only when logged in in lion

I am having trouble with my volume. The speakers are not the problem because when i boot it up, i get the Mac's startup sound loud and clear. After i log in to any of my accounts the volume gone. It is not on mute. I am running Mac OS X Lion. Please help if you can, i appreciate it!

MobileMe cannot log in after Lion update

Note, This is my first post here, as i have never had a problem with any of my mac devices for over 6 years.
iMac 27 core duo 8GBram. after upgrading to Lion, waiting for spotlight to re-index, etc. evrything seemed fine, until i tried loggin into mobileme. Validation Error. ok, I reset all keychinas. No luck. opened a new user, no luck. strange part is... iDisk loads fine, email works perfect, even my contacts are being sent to all my devices, ipad2, iphone 4 x2.... still cannot log into mobileme through preferences. tried for 2 days. validation error... WTH?
anyone with any ideas? went through all the standard procedures.. but i am not very IT minded.

First try booting while holding down the 'shift' key to boot into 'safe mode'....you will still be prompted for your password....I am hoping it will be accepted there...

My Macbook Pro hang and cannot log off in Lion 10.7.1

Ocassionally, I log off my Macbook Pro early 2008, running Lion 10.7.1. This never be a problem in SNow Leopard
But now, when I hit log out from Apple Menu, my Mac just hang on the gray screen having mouse arrow on the screen. Mouse can be moved using trackpad, but it just hang there
I have to press power button to force shut down and reboot.
Why this stupid and annoying problem occurred? Fix please
And if any friend and expert here have solution, please help and advise

part of the reason it hangs a little may be because of the new Resume feature in Lion try quiting all applications before logging out and see if that changes anything my only other solution is my login hang/freeze fix which can be found at this link

My iChat account on Messages stays logged out Mountain Lion

Since I upgraded to Messages Beta while on Lion, my iChat account has randomly logged out constantly while in use...
The only way I could fix this was by restarting my computer, but eventually it would log out, and stay logged out, again.
Now having upgraded to Mountain Lion, and today updating to 10.8.1 (hoping it would fix the issue), nothing has helped.
In Mountain Lion, my Messages now logs out within 5 minutes of being logged in, and stays logged out.
I've tried fixing the port on the account, using/not using SSL, trying with/without using proxy, etc...
I'm not a pro with using these complicated internet thingys, but I just want my iChat to work (in Messages!!!!).

Not able to log in to Lion.

So I updated to Lion this morning, from the App store. Once installation was complete the and the computer was rebooted, the login screen appeared. I logged in using my password, but instead of getting into the computer the screen flashes and I end up right back at the login screen. If I type the wrong password it tells me the password is incorrect with the shake, but the right password only gets me a flash of the screen and then right back again. A vicious circle. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Tony, thank you for the reply. I did reboot into recovery, and tried restoring permissions. That didn't work. Then I tried reinstalling Lion, and that didn't change anything either. Since I do have my system backed-up every night I just went ahead and erased the hard drive and am now re-installing Lion. To see if that works. I'm at a loss, as Lion installed perfectly onto my MacBook Pro with no problems, which is older then the desktop I installed onto this morning.

How to log into Mountain Lion if the FileVault user can't unlock the drive?

I have a computer that has the FileVault user not able to decrypt the drive. I've read on how to get into the machine and have successfully done so a few times. This has been accomplished by creating a new Admin user, deleting the original user, recreating it as a clean new user. Each time I give the computer back to the owner and he tries to restore from a backup. The problem is, he restores and it creates the same problem.
The most recent time he did this, I could not for the life of me figure out how to create a new user. When I try to log in as the FileVault user I get the "unable to log into filevault user account at this time" error.
The only way I could figure out how to get another admin user created so that I could delete his user was to reinstall the OS. Is that the only way this can be done?

I don't think Verizon will release the username and password to the camera administration to prevent people from doing what you want to do.
Even if you have the username / password, I would imagine there is a hefty equipment charge if you don't return the camera, which will make it cheaper to just buy a camera in retail stores.

Due to limited users in ECC system, When launching an ECC transaction from CRM Web UI using Transaction Launcher functionality, the framework is prompting to enter user name and password. Now I need to either avoid user authentication or bypass by defaulting a generic username and password.
I tried passing sap user id and password in ITS URL, but not no luck
Could any one share their valuable comments on this issue?

please have have a look at the following thread: Default User Name and Password for ECC Transaction
It seems to describe exactly your scenarios. The solution proposed there by zafar karnalkar is to set the default username and password in transaction launcher URL in transaction CRMS_IC_CROSS_SYS. The URL parameters necessary for this are:
sap-user= username
sap-password = password.

Startup/logging in after Lion installation

When I startup my MacBook Pro after having upgraded it to Lion I get now following message every time: " U kunt het programma NovamediaDiskSupressor niet openen, omdat de PowerPC-programma's niet langer wordt ondersteund."
How can I get rid of it?

To make sure that you approve of what action is being taken, otherwise you could click on something and install or change an app without realizing it.

Avoiding Log-In Screen

Hi all,
our users run BW webqueries from R/3 (by clicking a link). For the first time, a log in screen appears to log in to BW. As we set up a single sign on environment we don't want this popup to appear. Does anybody know what to do? Any help welcome.

Avoid logging in during app packaging

Morning!
Every single time that I need to work (6-7 days a week), when I do the first build, I need to login.
This means:
Entering email
Entering odd password (impossible to memorize due to symbols)
Entering another email for the code
Logging on that email inbox
Wait 5-10 minutes for the code to finally arrive
Enter the code
This every single day I work. It's exhausting.
Chat support states this is a "security feature". I call it needless pain and time waste.
Is there any workaround?

Is this the two-step authentication? Do you not have the option to trust the device you're logging in from (which would eliminate the 2nd step of getting a code sent to another email address)?
If it's like the normal Microsoft account 2-step authentication there should be an option for that somewhere. I never have to jump through those hoops to publish from my dev PC (but I do use 2-step when I log into my account from another computer). You should
also have the options to use an app on your phone or SMS to get a code sent to you instead of getting an email. Both these options are quicker and more reliable without losing the security aspect of 2-step authentication.
Check the Security settings on your Microsoft account.

My machine was patched to date 10.x.x. I was lucky to get an internet connection and I selected the option to re-download Lion... its curruently being downloaded. What if that doesn't work?
Any thougths would be appreciated.

Lion: I have to log in every time I start up my computer?

Hi all. I took the plunge and upgraded to Lion the other day. Overall, I love it, but since I upgraded, I now have to log in to Lion every time I initially start up. I've never had to to do that before - I always just stayed logged in, and when I boot up, I booted straight into the OS. I've looked all over and can't find the option to just stay logged in. I know it must be there somewhere. Any help would be appreciated.
