Azure fails to verify custom domain

I am trying to add a custom domain to my website. For that purpose, I've set up a domain to point to <mywebsitename>.azurewebsites.net with the specified IP I found under the "manage domains" section. I even checked with the company and
they're saying everything's configured on that end. But when I try to add my domain krisi.me to Azure, it says there is no CNAME record found to point to my website. Although, krisi.me goes to the azure page saying this domain hasn't been configured by the
user. What am I missing?! Why does Azure fail to verify my domain?

Hi,
I would
suggest you to add another CNAME entry for the root domain and check if it
helps, here is the link for reference:

    Hi,
I have just done an NSLOOKUP on your domain and the TXT record is showing the MX=<digits> record.  Please double check your DNS settings for the TXT to makesure you have not added a SPACE or TAB by mistake

  • How does work Azure web sites with custom domain?

I am new in Azure. I am going to create a website or cloud service in Azure. Then I would like client to access them from custom domain, such as myweb.mydomain.com actually will map to real site/service in Azure.
In this case, will client see the real URL in browser? Or they can see this redirection from their network traffic monitoring?
I wonder their IT may only allow user access *.mydomain.com and block any traffic to third party DNS.

    Hi
Your Azure website in terms of hosting web apps is just like other web hosting services so when you register a tenant and add a domain, you need to verify that domain by setting the DNS for the tenant you created to your domain's admin control panel.
Here is the reference on how you can do this:

  • Verify custom domain

    Hi
I tried to verifying my domain ccotinc.com but always got "Could not verify this domain because it was previously configured for your tenant or for another tenant."
The domain is kept at 1and1.ca and the domain is configuration to work with Office 365
I register TXT record in DNS
    aaaa.com  3599 IN TXT "MS=ms22220000"
    Regards,
    Ovidiu Timpanariu

    Hello,
Unfortunately as of now you cannot add the same domain in different microsoft services at present. If you have alreaady added the domain inot one of the Microsoft services, when you try to add it to another service portal, the server will find the domain
    records and prevent the domain.
      I would recommend you submit
    Feedback to engineering team.
You will have to remove and Update the DNS records at the Providers end to be able to use it in Azure Websites Service.
Refer to the following links on how to Add Custom Domain to Azure Websites.

  • Deploying Azure Web Site and Custom Domain Name

I'm new to Azure and not at all familiar with the various methods of publishing to Azure via Git, etc. I belong to the old school of plain old IIS folder structures and uploading HTML files to Inetpub directory for deploying web contents.
I have created an Azure web site at
http://mysite.azurewebsites.net and have added a CNAME record on our DNS server to redirect traffic from www.mydomain.com to mysite.azurewebsites.net but to no avail. I have downloaded and installed the Azure
PowerShell but can't seem to do anything with it. Any advice on how to configure the custom domain name for my azure web site as well as how to deploy contents to it, preferrably the old school way, would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Azure web site support several development stacks, such as .net, node.js, php, python, and different stack has different deploy process, see more at:

    refer to

  • Help with "Could not verify this domain because it was previously configured for your tenant or for another tenant."

I created a Free Trial Azure subscription.
Then due to country/region issues I had to add another subscription and migrate my data using Azure support.
In the new subscription's AD, I had configured and added my Custom Domain by verifying with TXT record.
Before the migration process I had created a website with Azure AD authentication in the old subscription.
After the migration, I have not tested the website, but the directories seem to have somehow merged, and my previously verified custom domain is not showing up in the AD and I am unable to re-verify it  due to the above error. My new subscription's
portal url itself is only https://manage.windowsazure.com/@customdomain, this change happened immediately after I verified my custom domain previously.
I need it in my AD so I can add organizational users to my AD - currently it has only users with Microsoft Accounts.
    How to go about this?
PS: My old "Free Trial" subscription has been disabled but it unfortunately is not even getting removed. I have pleaded with Azure support to cancel that old subscription but they are saying it is already in cancelled state. I am unable to access
this page https://account.windowsazure.com/Subscriptions to remove it myself, I keep getting a  "We are sorry, but we could not complete that operation." message with the URL set to https://account.windowsazure.com/Error/403/100

    First, thanks for replying.
If I can explain more clearly,
I had an azure account with Azure AD domain 'someemaillive.onmicrosoft.com' in my old subscription. Its Service Administrator was '[email protected]'. My manage url was: 'manage.windowsazure.com/@someemaillive.onmicrosoft.com'
I then created a new subscription under a different account to migrate data due to country/region changes. The new account's Service Admin was '[email protected]', consequently the Azure AD domain was 'someotheremaillive.onmicrosoft.com'. My other
    manage url was: 'manage.windowsazure.com/@someotheremaillive.onmicrosoft.com'.
I applied for a Data Migration Request on Support, and in the meantime, without knowing that the new subscription should be empty for the Migration process, begun working on the new subscription - adding resources like websites. I also verified my custom
domain 'mycustomdomain.com', making my new manage url 'manage.windowsazure.com/@mycustomdomain.com'. I added '[email protected]' to be the co-administrator of the new subscription in order to complete the migration process.
When the migration process was complete, my two Azure AD directories were no longer present, I just had one, with the old 'someemaillive.onmicrosoft.com' domain. I tried adding my custom domain 'mycustomdomain.com' but I can't.
Now I have created two more active directories, 'newdirectory.onmicrosoft.com' and 'olddirectory.onmicrosoft.com' and changed the directories of the two subscriptions accordingly. Now I have deleted the old 'someemaillive.onmicrosoft.com' directory, but
still I am unable to verify my custom domain (assuming it was verified and tied with the 'someemaillive.onmicrosoft.com' directory but just didn't show up).
Please tell me if I can be clearer. I've been breaking my head over this for a long time now.
And sorry for getting back to you so late.

  • MVC OWIN Application hosted in Azure fails with custom domain names

I am not entirely sure if this is the proper forum for OneDrive API questions, but hoping this is close enough or can be redirected.
I am working on integrating Microsoft Account authentication into my application, and in testing have based it off of the VS 2013 MVC starting template.  Everything works fine if I set my target domain and redirect url to be sitename.azurewebsites.net
    / sitename.azurewebsites.net/signin-Microsoft respectively.
However, this site has a custom domain associated with it, so I would like to actually point to use
    www.sitename.com /
www.sitename.com/signin-Microsoft under my dev account settings for this application.  When I am in this configuration, I consistently get the following error:
We're unable to complete your request
Microsoft account is experiencing technical problems. Please try again later.
Accessing www.sitename.com works fine.  How can I configure this to work with my actual domain name versus the azure name?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Rob,
Can you contact me at [email protected] with the actual domain name that you are trying to register so that I can take a closer look?
    Thanks,

  • Azure AD user name not using configured custom domain name

I have configured a few users for Lync Online that I setup before I had custom domain name work with Azure AD.  Now I have the custom domain setup and verified and configured as the primary domain.  The users that were configured for Lync
Online are still displayed with the *.onmicrosoft.com username in Azure AD.
Is there a way I can change these users so their usernames use our custom domain?

You can easily change the UPN via PowerShell:
Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -UserPrincipalName [email protected] -NewUserPrincipalName [email protected]
If you want to do this in bulk for all users, you can use something like this:
    $all = Get-MsolUser -All
    $users = $all | ? {$_.UserPrincipalName -match "tenant.onmicrosoft.com"}
    $users | % {Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -UserPrincipalName $_.UserPrincipalName -NewUserPrincipalName $_.UserPrincipalName.Replace("tenant.onmicrosoft.com","domain.com")}
Test it first against a single user of course :)

  • Configuration fails to save a lot (related to custom domain and SSL)

Attempting to add a custom domain and then to apply an SSL certificate to that domain result in a lot of errors. The sequence of events that led to this screenshot http://cl.ly/image/2w1V2m0x3N0U were:
    Add a custom domain (failed)
Attempt to add the same custom domain again (failed)
Attempt to add the same custom domain again (succeeded)
Attempt to assign an SSL certificate to that domain (failed)
I was performing similar actions on Monday with similar results...a lot of failures with some successes and no apparent reason for the failures and no different actions leading to the successes. On Monday I refreshed the page in the browser a lot, but it
didn't seem to help. During the above sequence, I didn't refresh the page.

We have been having the same issue with regards to custom SSL bindings and certs in our staging environment. No matter how I choose to enter the information or how many times I try, the save button is nonfunctional and navigating away from the page discards
    my changes.

  • Custom Domain name for Azure virtual machine using azure websites

Hie, I am using a cloud service (e.g cloud1) and it has a hosted VM in it (Windows server 2012). It is having a URL cloud1.cloudapp.net. So I want to use the domain name (e.g azuresite1.azurewebsites.net)created from azure.
So how do I add the Cname record and everything in this setup .
      I already tried to use
    this but that didn't work
What additional steps are required to add custom domain name to an azure virtual machine and, the custom domain name is also an azure website

If you want to use azuresite1.zurewebsites.net then i think, you have to create a azurewebsite. If you have a custom domain then following should work.
You have findout the IP that is attached to the VM.
Point your domain name to that IP (using domain dashboard)
Now your domain points to whatever the site hosted on the VM (port 80)
If you have more sites then, you have specify HostName for the site which you want to use with domain name.
Try and let me know if this helped.

  • Help! Azure VM Web Server and Custom Domain Names

I am going to be pretty basic here, so I apologize at the start ;)....We are attempting to setup a web server for our customer applications in Azure. We need to setup the website with multiple subdomains i.e. ourcompany.com is the main site but we will have
    customer1.outcompany.com, customer2.ourcompany.com, etc....
I have a domain name registered with GoDaddy. I have a virtual machine up and running. I have a test website up and running and can access it externally ( the net ) so I do have endpoints figured out at minimum.
Example. the current virtual server is ourcompany01.cloudapp.net . Our registered domain name is ourcompany.com.
Using our domain registrar,I am able to point ourcompany.com to ourcompany01.cloudapp.net.
The problem is that I want our customers to see ourcompany.com not ourcompany01.cloudapp.net in the browser.
How do I make that happen and also allow for the subddomains?
Any help would be greatly apprciated as I am under the proverbial gun to make this happen!!!!

    Hello ShapopoJoe
You are right about making changes in your DNS Registrar. That is the last step that is suggested in the article:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cloud-services-custom-domain-name/
And about createing the sub domains, you will need to use the IP address. Since you would be creating more than one subdomains for your 'www.ourcompany.com', you will need to map them to Reserve IP address.
You can refer to this link for creating more Reserve IP address:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/blog/2014/05/14/reserved-ip-addresses/
    Thanks.

  • Unable to add account to Outlook 2010 for email address under custom domain

I am unable to add a new account in Outlook 2010 for an email account set up under a custom domain.
Can anyone explain why login credentials that work for outlook.com (successful access to email inbox) return an authentication failure (401 error) when used to test connectivity via https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com?
    Details:
I set up a custom domain at https://domains.live.com and did the following DNS configuration steps at my web hosting company following instructions from domains.live.com:
    Created custom MX record
Created CNAME record [name:] autodiscover.jrergonomics.com [value:] autodiscover.outlook.com.
I created email addresses at domains.live.com > jrergonomics.com > Member accounts and tested by successfully logging in to outlook.com.
When I try to add either account to Outlook 2010, I get a popup box with this information:
    Title: "Windows Security"
    Connecting to [email protected]
    [[email protected]]
    [ ] Remember my credentials
                                       [   OK   ]  [  Cancel
The credentials that I use successfully to log in to outlook.com don't work here; I get the popup box 3-4 times and then the Outlook 2010 Add New Account dialog displays an error:
"An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click Next to attempt using an unencrypted connection."
Clicking Next results in an error message:
    "Problem Connecting to Server"
I have tried verifying the connectivity using https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com:

  • Unable to verify domain "Could not verify this domain because it was previously configured for your tenant or for another tenant."

I've been trying to verify the domain kailice.co.uk which I own , however I receive the following "Could not verify this domain because it was previously
configured for your tenant or for another tenant."
I believe I verified this domain with a previous trial subscription which has since expired and so I'm unable to login and remove the domain but wish to transition it to my new subscription

    Hi Jack,
Each custom domain can only be used in one Azure AD tenant and you can’t add the same domain to multiple Windows Azure AD tenants. In general, if you delete a domain in a Azure directory, then you can add it to another Windows AD Tenant.
I am not sure if you have deleted this domain in your previous trial subscription. But it appears like you have not deleted the domain. Is that right?
Recommend you to check the TXT/MX record in your Domain name register, delete other original TXT/MX records and just keep the TXT/MX record for the new verification.
Also, it needs some time for your domain to update the record, if you still receive the same error, I recommend you to wait for a while and then have a try.

  • Callback setup failed while verifying

    Hi there!
It's the second time I have this kind of problem with a customer. The message is:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'Callback setup failed while verifying <[email protected]\n(result of an earlier callout reused).\nThe initial connection, or a HELO or MAIL FROM:<> command was\nrejected. Refusing MAIL FROM:<> does not help fight spam, disregards\nRFC requirements, and stops you from receiving standard bounce\nmessages. This host does not accept mail from domains whose servers\nrefuse bounces.\nUser Not Found!' (delivery attempts: 0)
Some one heard about it ?
    Regards !

    Hi,
Yes this sounds a lot like you where using the bounce verification feature. The reply to address is changes, where bounces should get delivered to and which you would accept. However the other MTA is looking at the mail-from which is not accepted since it does not have a valid bounce tag.
You would need to configure in an Mail flow policy that is catching there sending IP address ( having the right sendergroup attached to it - I would create a new one with there IP address ) and that does not have the checkbox checked for bounce verification. (accept untagged bounces =Yes)
    Best Regards,
    Mark
