As I have written in the blog posting, I'm really new to JavaScript, just started 1 1/2 month ago and I'm currently on page 351 (total 994) of the JavaScript - The Definitive Guilde. So if you look at my code and think, man are you crazy, why you write that much code to do that, it's a simple regular expression and you are done! Please let me know!
The JavaScript stuff was more work as I thought (especially if it should work with Firefox and IE), you really appreciate the build in TO_DATE and TO_NUMBER and it's flexibility when you have to implement that by yourself. :-)
At least I haven't found a JavaScript validation toolbox which is compatible with the format mask settings of Oracle.
Call for testing:
-) I want know if the format mask checks I implemented work for all the combinations out there. The weird American ones with AM/PM and the month at be beginning should also work ;-)
-) If the inline error display also works with other themes and userdefined label templates.
So please plug it into your application and do a test drive of the new Ferrari! ;-)

First of all I have to say I'm a mac freak and i will never ever switch back to windows, but in some rare cases there is a lack of software, for example special software, like engineering software cad or fem software.
In this cases, I need windows to continue working.
Three weeks ago I sucessfully installed windows xp sp2 on my new mac mini intel single core, and the only thing I wanted to know was, could it be done -
Yes , but it was nothing for standard user i would say.Main problem was that windows must be installed on the first partition, which slowed down os x on the second, not all drivers were available and bootmangement was not like i had expected - I deletet xp and restored my os x.Keeping in mind that xp could run on my mm -
Today I installed win xp sp2 using bootcamp beta and i have to say that it was amazing, like landing on the moon.
Bootcamp solves the main lack of the installation, which i was confronted 2 weeks before - partitioning on the fly out of os x !!! and it uses the 2. partition for xp , which results that os x is running on the fast first partition.
These are the steps for the mac mini moonlanding:
1x xp sp2 cd, 1x cdr
1.) I did the firmware update
2.) Started bootcamp and bruned driver cd (83MB)
3.) Restarted into osx & started bootcamp again, clicked install xp again
4.) booted into xp and installed +restarted to xp
5.) installed all drivers from bruned cdr (auto)
6.) yeah all drivers are avaiable , even analog sound
7.) Restarted holding down option-key (alt-key)
8.) restarted to os x
10.) opened sys-pref in osx and marked osx as default startvolume
11.) continued living with two os'es on my mac mini!

Well, Microsoft does write Windows, you can't get rid of Microsoft all together and keep using Windows! If anything, this is a win against Dell or other vendors who sell hardware for Windows. It could be a boon for Microsoft to sell more copies of Windows, if anything.

I've been trying to get my head around this QT 10 vs QT 7 vs whatever else there is, and I have to say, as brilliant as I am, I don't get it. Not one bit of it. When I upgraded to Snow Leopard I lost my quicktime pro, and I get instead a quicktime that has the stupidest editing "feature" I've encountered anywhere: oh great, I can cut the beginning and end of a file. Nice work. It is counter-intuitive and totally lame. So what do I do? Dump it? Get QT 7? Someone on this site says 7 will not work with OS 10.6.blahblah. Where do I get a pro version of Quicktime? I don't want to Final Cut Express or iMovie when I have an itty bitty video clip that I need to trim and export into a different format. I mean, Apple: what is the what??

Thanks Kirk, but I did use Pacifist, and installed it. So problem solved but still I think its darn strange that we have two Quick Times, with different version numbers, and the "more advanced" number is actually the weaker product. But my QT 7x Pro is working fine. Thanks.

Ok everyone this is my first post on here and I'm in a bit of a jam. I've got a major project we just finished shooting(training film for one of the nation's biggest orgs) and I've been thrown into the ring as the one to do the authoring. I'll try to say as much as I can without infringing on the NDA. This video will help save a lot of lives so I appreciate it and hopefully someone else will live another day because of your help!
So I have this 1:20 minute long training film with approximately 35-45 different places that need to be able to go back and forth on. Here is where it gets hairy. There are 2 versions of this film. One is if it's taking in conjunction with one course and another if it is stand alone. The difference lays in the wording of the introduction to the 3 different sections, one section summary ending, and one section that is either played in the other course or is included in the stand alone.
On top of that, there needs to be options on whether the last 2-3 sections get played or not. it's an adult, child, and infant thing. You always do adult. You may or may not do child or infant.
ON TOP OF THAT some parts there are is a pause to allow the instructor to get things together and some parts there needs to be some kind of choice on whether or not a practice section is repeated to be viewed again or whether it can go on.
So here is what I have going on.
I've got buttons and menus in the begging which ask the users these different questions and those results get stored in a gprm(a yes =1 no =0 kind of thing).
I've got the film as it's played with the other course(this is the normal version) in one track with chapter markers at all the different sections.
I've placed 5 other tracks, those 5 different sections which make the normal version, the alternative version.
My idea was to place scripts on some of the chapters end jumps that controlled whether the next chapter gets played or not. After a chapter where a pause is needed, I've got a script that gets the sprm7 number and stores it in a gprm and then goes into a dynamic menu also which has a big pause symbol and contains a play button that ads 1 to that gprm.
I haven't created the menu yet which will allow me to view these sections.
Ok so the problems are in the user navigation. I'm having a hard time testing this thing because there are so many options that need to be accounted for, but I think it's messing up when they are trying to go back and forth, which an instructor would need to be able to do. But since the scripts are in the end jump, I think it's missing them. Also on the sections with the pause, it doesn't seem to be able move forward on that one.
This is a nightmare. Is there a better way to do this?
Again anything that can help point me in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

Achieving the desired navigation with the most MPC (Maximum Player Compatibility) for this disc is just part of the battle. There are myriad other 'best practices', settings, 'gotcha avoidance strategies', tips, optimizations and other considerations, etc., to get a DVD SP project like this to be wildly successful through replication and out to market.

Everything I`m downloading still lands on C: Relaunching itunes while pressing "shift" and then getting prompted to choose library might work for a Mac, it doesn't for Windows.

In iTunes click on 'Edit', then 'Preferances', Click on the 'Advanced' button, change the entry in the 'iTunes media folder location' to point to your external drive.

Thanks Shootist007, by blockd files I mean files that I have changed to blocked and when I tried to move then for the first time, I had to unblock again. I am trying to backup my pictures, my songs and other files like word documents and excel tables. First I put all of them as blocked, what caused the first problems on trying to move them. Then, I've unchecked the block option and if I try to move one by one, there is no problem. The issue is to move all together, because it gets stuck in the preparing to copy files step. Anyway, if I cannot do all by once, I'll do it one by one, event though that was not suposed to happen if we are talking about technology, right? Anyway, I thank you again for trying to help me!

GRC AC V10 - one approval step for manager and role owner

I have one, perhaps easy, question. Where is it possible to maintain the solution of one approval step for manager and roleowner, if both are unique.
E.g.:
simple approval workflow: manager stage afterwards roleowner stage afterwards auto-provisioning
So if the request is routed to the manager and the manager is also the roleowner of the requested authorization role (same UserID). The user has to approve one and the same request twice.
Is it possible in V.10 to change the config that the user has only to approve the request once? And then to decide on which relevant stage settings are valid for this process.

Hi Alexa,
We have had a similar questions raised in a project. In an ideal world, a single "Sign-off approval" would be a great functionality where the same user has to approve the same consecutive stages, but the reason for different stages would entail that the responsibilities entailed per stage differ, e.g. Line Manager would just check the over request, and the role owner etc may be reviewing the elegibility of a specifc role etc.
If it is likely to be the same person reviewing the 2 consecutive stages, maybe a single stage workflow would be sufficient to cover this scenario.
I think the logic you are trying to configure in the workflow is possible but will require alot of work with knowing how to create a clever custom workflow with BRF+ or the actual WF stuff in SAP itself.

Follow-up: the problem is far less frequent now that we disabled local resource attachment via the RDP session, and when it occurs, a logoff/logon to the RDS server seems to prevent the problem for some time, but now it turns out that it has not actually

If no longer under warranty, another option is taking it to an independent cell phone repair shop.

No, as far as I know, each one is completely separate - especially if you're dealing with two different versions of OS's.

I've personally never done it on a running drive - have read it's possible, but don't want to suggest it since I've never done it and wouldn't be sure about the steps. This is how I got to two partitions on my iMac:
Originally, I had just one partition with Snow Leopard. I used CCC to clone that to an external drive. Booted into that drive and used DU to partition and erase the internal. I then cloned the new clone back. Also cloned the same thing to the other partition which I then upgraded to Lion. So I had two OS's - SL and Lion. I've now decided to clone my SL to an external drive for occasional use and installed ML on that partition - so now I have Lion and ML.
There are two ways to get a "fresh" install: either download the OS again and install it on a partition of your choice or, as I've done as well, copy the installer to a safe place so you don't need to download it again. It does include whatever apps/software is included in the OS. I've designated two smaller partitions on externals as my "fresh" installs of both Lion and ML for emergency or reinstall purposes (this is my way of dealing with not having install DVDs) - I took the time to install it there and then slowly add fresh installs of my important apps (either via download or install CD) - don't bother with the little/less used stuff, a current copy of that can be downloaded if and when I need it. I don't really update those two - that can also be done if/when I need it since that'll always change.
So, yesterday, I decided I wanted to start fresh with ML - booted into my fresh install of Lion (on external), wiped the SL partition on my internal and installed Lion. Decided to download a fresh copy of the ML installer and installed that. Then ran Software Update. After that, repaired permissions. Then I methodically opened every third party app and checked for updates - installed those where necessary. After all that, I simply copied (drag 'n drop) my entire Documents folder (which contains all my important data,, photos, etc) over from another backup.
This took a while, but mostly because of the long download times; the installs weren't all that bad. I should be running a really clean system now, especially since nothing was ported over except my Documents folder.

I use one work account (for buying apps for work) but I want to use my personal account for iTunes match. Is this possible, since I don't want my work to have to pay for my match and my music?

No that's not possible they both use the iTunes account and you can only work with one account at a time.

Error while 'Crystal Report for Sap Business One' addon started

Hi,
I have try to install Crystal Report for Sap Business One (Addon Versione number 2.0.0.7).
The installatione finish succesfully, but when I started the addOn i retrieve this errore message: External Connection to the dataBase failed. Sap Crystal Addon may not function properly. Please re-run the account setup with superuser login.
I'm logged in Sap with manager (super user), so maybe I have forgot some step in the installation?
I have see the Demo in the Channel Partner Portal, I have note that I have to isntall the CR_Runtime_12_0, but I don't find it, I don't know where I can download this file. I have just installed SapCrystalSetup.exe and registered the Addon like a normal Sap B1 addon.
Where is the error??

You must configure in each cliente Pc the connection with the DATABASE.
You must Know the Database Super User (In SQL Server usually sa, and its password, the standard form SAP Business One is SAPB1Admin)
In Administration > Crystal Reports Administration > Account Setup
The CR_Runtime_12_0 is only necesary to view reports, but isn't necesary to start de addon.

I have a box that will not go away, it says, "To open JavaApplication, you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime. Would you like to check for and install one? If i push not now, it keeps popping up, if I push install, it says it's not available, help.

I have a dialogue box that will not go away and it seems to have started when I upgraded to Mt. Lion. the box says, "To open JavaApplication, you need to install a Java 6 SE runtime. Would you like to check for and install one? (smaller print) Note: Usw of this software is subject to the Software License Agreement applicable to the software you are downloading. Finally there are two boxes to click. One says not now. If I click on that the box goes away for 2 to 3 seconds and then pops back up and WILL NOT go away. If I click on the second box, Install, it says The software is currently unavailable. To install a Java SE 6 runtime later, open Java Application again.
My confusion here is that I have no idea what the java application is, When I click "okay" on that box, the original box pops us again and WILL NOT go away. CGoing to the apple lega web site was no help. My solution so far has been to drag the dialogue box as far to the lower right and out of the way as far as I can. Help.

Does this happen immediately after you log in? If so, one of your login items is probably causing it.
