Back RFC destionation for Job management

Hi
I am trying to define RFC destinations for managed systems at Job management, but noon is available. Why?
all tree Solman standard RFC destionations are exist.

About going "back" to the batch jobs story from the trace:
I have detected that the error message "the page has expired" when you make the browser to go back (history.back()) happens only on Internet Explorer (7).
I have tried it in Firefox 3, and I can bo back to the Batch jobs history (it does not matter in which page you are) after watching the trace of a job.
And about the correction in version DS 3.2:
Is it a real "back"?
With this I mean, for instance, if you change the status of a job schedule, and you cancel its programation. In version 10.5, if I go "back", the job is still programmed according to the previous page, but in real, it's not an scheduled job.

Apply For Job - Manager Rule

Hello,
In irecruitment, to send a notification to the managers when an applicant applies for job, i'm using the seeded AME rule which is "Apply For Job - Manager Rule". When i test it going as an applicant and apply for a job, its not sending any notifications. After seeing the metalink note [ID 605603.1], i enabled the business event "oracle.apps.per.api.assignment.update_apl_asg" and tested but still the AME rule is not fired.
Am i missing something here?

There are bugs with certain iRec Notifications, Oracle asked us to implement the following steps to resolve the issue for the bug to which you refer too:
Add the below attributes to Transaction type 'iRecruitment Notification Approvals' using 'Use Existing Attributes' -
USER_ID_EXISTS
APPROVAL TYPE
CURRENT_EMPLOYEE_FLAG
Create New Condition: IRC_EVENT_NAME in (APLFORJOB) - as Vignesh outlined
Remove any existing conditions from Rule: "Apply For Job - Manager Rule" where the attributes are any of these: USER_ID_EXISTS; APPROVAL TYPE; CURRENT_EMPLOYEE_FLAG
Add new condition: IRC_EVENT_NAME in (APLFORJOB) to the 'Apply For Job - Manager Rule'
Ensure a Hiring Manager name exists in the vacancy which the Candidate is applying and retest the issue.
Also ensure either Workflow Background Process is run or System Profile: HR:Defer Update After Approval is set to No at Site/Responsibility Level.

BPC Retraction for Funds Management

is there any FM or programs that we can use to retract data from BPC back to ECC6 for Funds Management module

In my project, customer has same requirement. We retracted BPC data to FM module by:
Option1 - FMCYCOPI_BW is a standard function, but issue: it can't provide detail information if there's error happened.
(1) Download BPC data to a BW Cube. (This step is not mandatory)
(2) in FM, use TCODE FMCYCOPI_BW to extract BW query (on that Cube) and generate FM documents. // you need to do some configure in SPRO FM.
Option2 - you can capture error while creating FM documents.
Write ABAP codes to retract BPC data and generate FM Documents.

Job Management

Hello SolMan users !
I am playing around with the new Work Centers, and what I'd like to setup first is the Job Management Work Center.
Currently, when I open this work center, in the Overview, I have all the sections (Job Requests, Job Monitoring, ...), but no numbers are displayed, there are '???' everywhere.
Also, I have activated the WebDynpro services for Job management. I tried scheduling a job in a remote system with the BC-XBP scheduler, but I got a "No connexion to BC-XBP" error message.
I am totally at a loss about what I need to setup to have this working, and I cannot find any documentation.
Could someone point out to me what I am missing ? What is BC-XBP ? Is it something that needs to be configured in SolMan/the remote systems ?
Finally, is there any documentation about Work Centers customizing ?

please begin with reading SAP Note 1122497 - Process Scheduling for SAP Solution Manager.
The Application Area for this case is "SV-SMG-PSM".
You have to install the add on SAP CPS by Redwood. It is a part of license of SAP Netweaver.
The add on component is ST-PSM.

Just before creating the rfc connection do this step.
Set-Up Solution Manager Connection to Solution Manager Diagn
Use
Check the connection to function Solution Manager Diagnostics.
Default Settings
The function Solution Manager Diagnostics is installed on the Java instance of the Solution Manager system by default.
Activities
If the default values are correct, save the settings.
To run the Solution Manager Diagnostics in another system, enter the required data and save.
Also check that your java is active.

After deleting the backups, go back to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and make sure iCloud Backup is set to On (if not, turn it on).

No EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager task in SDCCN

Hello All,
We have configured SAP Solution Manager and managed system to generate EWA report.
In Solman, we have created the system, logical system and solution. We have activated the managed system in Setup EarlyWatch Alert in Solman.
In Managed system, we have activated SDCCN, assigned BACK RFC, created Maintenance package and refresh sessions.
However, after completing the Maintenance package task there is no EarlyWatch Alert for Solution Manager task created in managed system. We have reviewed the task logs and found no errors.
In Solman, when we create EWA for today's date the status is showing with an Hour glass stating that "Wait for session data: SAP EarlyWatch Alert and session number"
Kindly assist us in fixing this issue

the task "early watch alert for solution manager" created automatically when did you perform the task "refreh session" or "Maintenance Package"
please create the relevant task, via : SDCCN -> Task -> Create ->Request session data ->Periodic -> Earlywatch Alert -> Continue.
'Schedule' the start date of the first session and - Task -- create Click on 'Refresh sessions' - Press 'Enter' - Select 'Now', to schedule the job 'immediately. once you create the relevant tasks you go by, in the Menu - Goto -> start - to activate the Earlywatch alert session Now, you can check the finished EWA task in 'done' tab.
Login to Solution Manager, goto trx. DSWP --> Select your solution, Solution Monitoring - Earlywatch alert - Click on Earlywatch alert --> start service processing --> Press 'OK' to start the background job - click 'Refresh'
Now, you can see the 'Early watch alert' in the green colour .

Is TREX mandatory for Talent Management?

Dear Experts,
Is TREX a mandatory component for Talent Management? It's because I am having issue when I click "Search" in Talent Management Specialist Launchpad, telling me "Error occurred during the search; contact your system administrator".
And it seems to me that TREX supports only LINUX and MaxDB, which is totally out of our company's landscape.

Hi Steven,
TREX is the search engine itself. That means Talent management is using enterprise search and enterprise search uses TREX to perform searches and store data.
Enterprise Search is part of SAP Netweaver ABAP ( also called embedded search ). Enterprise search is responsible to index data from HR to TREX and is responsible to redirect search requests from Talent management to TREX and put back the results back to the UI. It also provides tools to maintain and administer the data models.
So Enterprise Search is available on your Netweaver ABAP system. But ES uses TREX. That means if you want to get ES up and running you need TREX. (normaly installed on a different box and connexted by RFC to the Netweaver System)

Remotely invoke DS job and wait for job

Hi,
We are running DS 4 SP2 on Linux and have generated our job script from
the console. We need to be able to invoke a DS job from scheduler
(autosys) running on AIX and wait for the DS job to complete so the
return status is passed back to autosys.
We are planning to replace informatica with DS, informatica has a utility
pmcmd which allows remote invocation and will also wait for the job to
complete. Is there a similar utility in DS?
Alternately, if we installed DS on the remote AIX server, would it be
able to remotely start/wait for the job on the Linux server?

you can export the job execution command for a job from management console and use that to run the job from auto sys, the script will start job aluncher which has a option -w (by default it waits for job to complete) which tell whether the launcher process waits for job to complete or starts the job and exit

Hello Sri,
the solution to your first question might be very easy. In EhP 4 the entries in the dashboard do not appear automatically. In most cases you have to refresh the dashboard (be aware this is only effecting the current dashboard work list, not all if you do not use the refresh all button). Soclick the "My new Applications" and then refress this workset.
If this does not help we will have to look closer into this issue (overall I assume you have EhP4 SP 6 applied).
For question 2. It is a quite common requirement that an external publication is nearly only based on the posting texts while the internal publication includes much more specific information (org. management, cost center, pay scale group). As you are free in designing you own company specific internal and external publications they can look however you want (in the general restriction what a smartform can do of course). For different publication texts companies create different postings one for internal and one for external publication. The additional information are in some cases entered directly into these texts, in some cases maintained in e-rec fields not needed for other requirements, in customer own fields or directly gathered from the HR core system. It depends a bit on the exact requirement which is the best solution. For the fields you mentioned I'd probably go for OM integration for e-rec (assigning positions to requisition) and get the Information via customer RFC function module directly in the smartform (if the security guys allow the access to the HR system from the e-rec system).
For question 3. The manager should be able to see the decision maker data overview. Here you can include whatever you want as you can replace it with a customer developed smartform.

RFC User for satellite systems

Hello Gurus,
I just wanted to ask about one issue. We are a SAP partner and using Solution Manager in VARs scenario. There are many systems of our customers connected to our Solution Manager..
Now I want to ask about RFC user(s). As I see, in our Solution Manager there are many users(communications type C) with Synthax SOLMAN<system id> or something like that. It means basically, that we have for every particular customerS system one SOLMAN user for RFC(cust_scout) in our Solution Manager. My question is if we can replace all of these users with only one RFC user for all the systems and customers?

Hi Miloslav,
Technically, it will work that you define one common RFC user in your SolMan for communication (RFC BACK destination) from all connected managed systems.
BUT, I would never recommend it.
Once a managed system cause issues in your SolMan, you are not able (or at least it's much more difficult) to identify the managed system. Same happens, if a invalid password in the BACK destination leads to a locked user.
My recommendation: Spend the extra effort in creating a user per managed system. Operation will be much easier later.

RFC configuration for system monitoring / Early Watch reports

Hello Basis Gurus:
Please help me out.....
The early watch reports in the solution manager of my system are failing consistently to execute.This is happening for all the 3 systems DEV,QAS,PRD.when i click on individual earlywatch reports it takes me to a screen which says "data for this report is overdue.....go to your satellite system SDCCN to see why the data was not sent...."
It says ...check the following things.....
"The RFC connection for the SAP Solution Manager system is not working.
The 'Task Processor' background job, which collects the session data, has been changed.
Problems arose while data was being collected (see the detail log for the task that collects the session data).
A periodic 'SDCC Maintenance Package' task has not been scheduled to check whether your SAP Solution Manager system requests session data."
I can see the task processor job , and the periodic Maintenance package scheduled everyday and completed sucessfully.So is it the RFC which is causing the problem.
Im SM59 of the solman, i can see system generated RFCs for the PRD,DEV,QAS and SND (...3 for each of these systems...).
say for PRD, these are the 3 RFCs.
1.)SM_PRDCLNT<client#>_READ.
2.)SM_PRDCLNT<client#>_TMW.
3.)SM_PRDCLNT<client#>_TRUSTED.
I am not sure which RFCs among the 3 for any given system does the solman use to communicate to the satellite systems.
*The user id section in the Logon Data of any of these RFCs is blank.and the password says "is initial"...*is this correct.Does the user id have to be a communication type of user...
PLeaase advise as to what could be going wrong..

The system uses ABAP Connection (Connection Type 3) to connect to different Systems to execute Functional Calls.
Now in your case, there are 3 different connections meaning your Basis Team has used 3 connections for different connection activities. This is totally a business dependent scenario.
Now each time you create a RFC Connection, the system will need the following information to remotely call another system, they are:
Host Details of Target System
Logon Details to remotely login
For RFC Connections the User Type has to be Communications User. But there are companies which use Dialog User Types as well to remotely login for some cases. When the User ID is created for an RFC User and a Password is assigned to it, this Password is considered as the Initial Password by the system. This Password is taken as the Initial Password in the RFC Connection as well.
There can be cases where the system is Trusted and there is no need of a password, but an Username is mandatory in all cases. Remember if you set the system as Trusted, the password option gets deactivated and the connection wont work, if the system does not have the Trusted status.
But in any case you must assign the Username alongwith the Client and Language Details in the RFC Connection for it to work.

Error in RFC SM_DM1CLNT800_BACK to Solution Manager System Message no. STMWFLOW025

Hi,
I am facing an issue in our Test landscape. One of our team member uninstalled solman system which was connected to all other system. CHarms was partly configured in it, so other technical team used to reach to solman for creating TR# and also release the TR from Solman. Now that the system was removed abruptly we are facing this issue and I have checked few things as below:
1) Checked for domain link entries in STMS and TP profile file, could not find anything. Nor there is any option to delete domain link as there is for create
2) Checked the RFC its was working as new Solman with the same host name and other details has been brought back with out any settings yet in it.
3) I deleted the RFC SM_DM1CLNT800_BACK in the managed system and had a backup copy created before deleting it. But still get the error "Error in RFC SM_DM1CLNT800_BACK to Solution Manager System" in more help I see this Message no. STMWFLOW025
4) Message no. STMWFLOW025 - It gives me an indication that this is something to do with the domain link and the Workflow of the TMS.
5) Checked BCOS_CUST table and it has an entry for this RFC. - Should I be removing this entry and will this resolve the issue?
I need help in resolving this issue and also if one of you could share a blog for the proper configuration removal process of a managed system from Charms and ITSM I think it would be very helpful. I could only find process and step towards configuration and not how to unconfigure the system.

The issue is now resolved, this is how I did it.
1) Removed entries from BCOS_CUST from client 000 for OSS_MSG which was pointing to the RFC name
Then got another error:
No RFC connection to the central lock information management system.
The project lock functionality is active in the local system, but there is no RFC connection to the Solution Manager system.
2a) Ran the report in SA38 TMW_CONTROL_PROJECT_LOCK with selection for Deactivate the "project lock functionality".
2) Filled the "Deactivate Project Lock" field with "X" then clicked EXECUTE.
Problem got Solved.

BACK RFC ERROR

Hello All,
I am doing the configuration part in solution manager 4.0 (now known as 7.0 as well) with SAP_BASIS and SAP_ABA on level 13.
Everything was going fine but while doing EWA in transaction SMSY>environment>solution manager operation -->administration Sdccn ..when i am trying to assign the satellite system as a Master system i am getting the below error :
"Back destination from system ECD to master system SOM cannot be found"
and when i am trying to generate the RFC with assistant i am not able to make the Back RFC ...i 've created the Back RFC manually ...but stil i am facing the same above error.
and satellite system is ECC 6.0

In Solution manager Tx SMSY when I go to SDCCN Administration is show green in field='SDCCN Status' for ECD satellite system but for Solution manager (SOM) it showing yellow for SDCCN status.
for SOM (solution manager ) you need to assign destination NONE and not BACK RFC Destination.
in transaction SMSY. go to system then to solution manager system (SOM) . select the client where you want to configure EWA. then click on the edit rfc destination button you can find this above the client list. then select Destination NONE or type NONE as the destination and select the radio buttton at the bottom of the window (this radio button talks about sdccn).
save it.
now go to sdccn transaction and check ........you can find everything green for SOM
you can find all info in sap tutorial ( a really useful tool)
check out in service.sap.com/rkt-solman
navigate to solution manager 7.0
then to technology consultants/ system administrators
guess you can find this info in basic configuration tutorial
regarding your queries it is not that easy to explain everything here . hope if you could able to go through all the avilable tutorial then you could able to come up with the solution.

Try with your corporate mail ids it will work.
It is neccesary configurate Job Manager? why is necessary configurate Publisher and Job manager, is the same? or Each one is in use for a different thing Bi Publisher will not use Job manager mail settings.....If yes ,why we need to configure the mail settings in BIPublisher itself??
