I recently purchased a used 2nd generation Apple iPad. I was told that the iPad is locked because of Apple ID. I plan on erasing everything on the iPad and setting it back to factory defaults. Can I now use my personal Apple ID via my iMac to start it as it originally came from Apple??

It is a brick! But I did somehow get into the iPhoto section and was able to find the Former owner that owned the iPad and was able to contact him VIA FaceTime. on my iMac. He was of little help because he was not the original owner, but he bought the iPad as I did from a huge supplier and i was able to contact that supplier who refused to give out any information about the previous owner. I had the iPad hooked up to my somehowiMac via the USB cable and went through the setup procedure to no avail. Then after pressing the Home button several times it somehow went to the iPhotos that were on the iPad? There were 2 pictures of the owners email address. I then copied them to my iMac and used iPhoto app to enlarge the photos. It worked. So there is a way, just takes time to somewhat hack into Find My iPad?Phone.
Personally, it is not Apple's responsibility to protect customers of their personal DATA. With such a high security application. Then of coarse it is a great idea. Then again it is the responsibility of the former owner to wipe and rest the iPad before reselling it. This being the case like those sold on eBay and elsewhere that are ID Locked should not be allowed to be sold. Personally the ID lock is much like a VIN number of a car. In most states one cannot sell a car without the VIN Numbers. Somewhat the same thing should be true of ID Locks

I am just a computer and internet user, if you can't imagine what that's means, then I need to use and promote other web browsers.
I am really mad about the update, who is worthless!

Try to drag the current Firefox application to the trash if you can't replace it.

  • When I open a new tab I no longer get the search bar with all of my recent pages, how do I restore this back to the default?

I was on demonoid and I accidentally installed some software that I didnt want to. Once this happened I noticed that on both of my browsers firefox and chrome that this search site named trovi.com has taken over as my homepage and over my new tab. I fixed the problem on chrome and I fixed the home page problem on Firefox, what I cant figure out is how to get rid of this bane when I open a new tab. All I have all of my useful sites pinned there and it is very annoying.
I have been searching through all the options and cannot find a way to change this back to default without restoring the entire browser back to default. Which I really dont want to do. Thanks in advance

hello, please install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common customizations those adware programs do in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

  • After closing firefox, the next time I open it my homepage has gone back to the default homepage and not the one I tried to set as my home page.

I've tried multiple times to set my home page to Yahoo.com
It works as long as I have Firefox open, but if I close Firefox and then re-open it, the home page has reverted back to the default home page, not the one I set.
This has not happened before updating to 3.6.10.

There are several possible reasons for it being reset, for details see [[Preferences are not saved]].

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • When I customize things like homepage, privacy, history they all change back to Firefox default when I close the browser

Firefox will not remember my customized options. I set my homepage and privacy options and when I close the browser and reopen, it will be back to Firefox default homepage.

Sounds like you could have a locked or corrupt preferences file. Try this article for steps to fix that - [[Preferences are not saved]].

  • Can you reset a default theme back to the default slides?

    Hi,
I wanted to use a default theme slide as a starting point to create a new custom theme.
However I accidentally saved the changes to the original "White" theme in CP7.
Is there a way I can reverse the changes and get back to the default original master slides?
    Thanks,
    Denise

    Hello Denise,
Please go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Layouts\8_0\en_US there will a file by the name of white.cptm , rename it to anything.
Then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 8 (32 Bit)\Gallery\Layouts\8_0\en_US and copy white.cptm and then paste it in the above location
Make sure that Captivate must be closed while doing this.
After Pasting Launch Captivate and you will have you default theme back.
    Regards
    Himanshu

It's not like Mozilla is removing features from SeaMonkey when they create Firefox. Firefox is the primary application from Mozilla. SeaMonkey is a 3rd party project derived from Firefox code, and the SeaMonkey project adds features that aren't included in Firefox.
There are a number of extensions that add "Form Fill" features to Firefox, and there is at least one extension that adds "form history management" to Firefox. <br />

  • How do I get rid of "Back To Form" on generated pages

I have a page which is generated by PL/SQL. The page itself generates fine, but I always get "Back To Form" along with the success.gif icon. I want to get rid of both. I know I can replace the success.gif with a 1 pixel transparent image, but what about the link? How can I get rid of that?

    Hi Richard,
This question should belong to Portal Application forum. There, you can find a forum on how to change standard messages in forms.
    I hope this helps.

  • Need help resetting the Surface Pro 3 Back to factory Defaults

Hey guys need some help.  I have a Surface Pro 3 we were trying to image.  No Luck.  We have given up for now and tryingto go back to factory defaults.  Luckily I made a restore USB before I did anything.  Here is the problem:
Somehow we screwd up the UEFI settings and it wont even find the drive.  I Keep changing the settings but everytime i go to "Reset Your PC" and repartition drives I get a "Unable to reset your PC. The system Drive cannot be found"
    message.
I See no clear way of setting it back to Factory Defaults but here is the Screen BIOS/UEFI screen settings
    Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Enabled
    (Tried Both No luck)
    Secure Boot Control Disabled
    (Tried Both No luck)
configure Alternate System Boot Order Network-USB- SSD
    (Tried both ways no luck)
Configure External Ports -All ports enabled.

Yes you can. From CLI of Mars:
    [pnadmin]$ pnreset -h
    Usage:  pnreset or pnreset option.
Default. With no options pnreset restores the appliance to factory
defaults and purges all configuration and event data (certificate and
fingerprints stored to validate reporting devices, topology settings,
archived logs, and the license key information).
        -h  Displays this usage information.
-g  Removes the Global Controller data from a Local Controller, leaving
the Local Controller-specific data and the Global Controller
communication information untouched.  Use this option only after
a Global Controller crash or recovery.  In this case, "pnreset -g"
must be executed on every Local Controller that was monitored by
            the failed Global Controller.
-s  Removes the Global Controller communication information and resets
a Local Controller to standalone mode.  It removes the Global Controller
data and connectivity data from the Local Controller as well as the
default Controller zone information.  Use this option only after
a failed Delete of the Local Controller entry from the Global Controller
            "Local Controller Management" web page.
-o  Resets the tnsnames.ora file to factory default. The tnsnames.ora file
is required for the Oracle client to connect to the Oracle server.
-j  Resets the web server scheduler depending on Local Controller's
running mode. A restart of web server is enforced.
    [pnadmin]$ pnreset
Reset command will erase all data in database and reboot the machine.
Please type YES if you want to proceed:
    Hope this helps.

  • Removing Extra .GIF & "Back to Form" URL

I have developed a Form that is based on a stored procedure in a package. When the form executes, the procedure in the package body executes. At the end of this procedure, there is a call to the report to be executed with the bind variables passed as parameters:
    report_1.show(p_arg_names => portal30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table('bv1:bv2'),p_arg_values=>portal30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table(lv1 &#0124; &#0124; ':' &#0124; &#0124; lv2)) ;
This all works fine. The problem is that at the bottom of the report result page there is a .GIF file (success.gif) added to the page along with a URL with the text "Back to Form", which doesn't take you back to the proper place. How can I get rid of this .GIF and the URL?

    Hi,
What you need is to convert this to URL form
    report_1.show(p_arg_names => portal30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table('bv1:bv2'),p_arg_values=>portal30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table(lv1 | | ':' | | lv2)) ;
    like:
    my_url := 'report_1.show?p_arg_names=bv1&p_arg_values=' &#0124; &#0124; lv1 &#0124; &#0124; .......... etc.
then edit your form and add a CALL function to the "On success" , like :
    CALL(my_url);
Please see this for some examples: http://otn.oracle.com/products/iportal/htdocs/portal_faq.htm#BuildingApplications
    Thanks,
    Dmitry
