Background for groups of apps

With iOS6 the boxes that had several apps in it had a black background... now it's grey. Is there a way to put it back to black? The black was easier on my eyes. I set my wallpaper to a picture, and the lock screen's set. Is there a way to set the background behind the wallpaper to black?

Yes. Go into the app folder you want to rename, tap and hold on any app icon until they start wobbling, then you can rename the folder by tapping and typing on the name at the top. Press the home button to finish.

Keeping apps on in the background for over 10 minutes?

I use irc and some times i keep it ont he background for hours on my macbook pro but on the ipad it keeps saying i have to open it every 10 minutes otherwise it disconnects and other similar apps... i know its supposed to save battery but i really would like to keep it open non stop for as many hours as i like as i have a charger next to me that it can be plugged into...
I am trying to replace my macbook pro with the ipad for the summer as the macbook pro burns my legs after ages of using it even with a matt lap top thing to stop it burning my legs it just takes longer, but the only thing stopping me being able to do so is my downloads and the fact that irc keeps wanting to close after 10 minutes, it would be great if there was some kind of exeption list where it would just stay on for as long as i want.. is this possible?

This means that a user interaction via a notification is necessary or the iOS will terminate the app after 10 minutes.

How to run GR55 reports in background for cost center hierarchies

1. I have been asked by our users to create batch jobs to run in the background for some GR55 reports, that can then be sent directly to cost center managers via email.
I have figured out the process to do this as long as the cost center manager only needs to see a single cost center at a time. However, if they are in charge of multiple cost centers, we also want to send them a summarized report using the hierarchy we have set up. I can't seem to make this work, as the job only seem to recognize the last cost center in the group and the report is for that cost center.
Example. cost centers 100, 200 and 300 belong to hierarchy abc. If I run the job just for cost center 100 it is fine. But if I have a variant to run hierarchy abc, or even if I use the range 100 to 300, all I get is a report for cost center 300.
We cannot use BW because we only have revenue in BW. I am being asked to make this work from standard R/3 within the GR55 realm of reporting.
2. In addition, the report selection criteria includes two separate plan/forecast versions. They need to update these each month prior to running the reports and sending them out. I looked at the variables associated with the versions and tried to set them up with default values that I hoped would update automatically so that they don't have to manually change 50 or so variants each month. But I don't see any dynamic variables that I can use to have the system make that change without going into each variant individually.
3. There is another piece to this equation as well. There is another report they want sent out in batch, but it is several pages wide in SAP and several pages long. So when you run it in batch and either spool it or get it sent as an email, it is very ugly in the formatting due to all the page splits horizontally and vertically. If anyone knows how to get the report to stay together like it would if you had excel integration turned on, it would be very helpful. I have tried running it with that integration turned on, but the jobs are set up with user batch_mgr and not my id, so it isn't working well. The batch_mgr id is just a system id, not a dialog id. We also don't want the jobs set up with a regular user id because if people leave, then the jobs all need to be changed.

I may have options for issues 1 and 2. In case of 3, what I can tell you is I understand the concern, but this is what typically happens in some standard CO reports that are not ALV compatible, I don't think there is not much there to do unless you add some custom code for the output.
In regards to point 1, yes, I have noticed that this happens in some standard and custom reporting, not sure what is going on. I came up with a work around that made the trick for my client in a similar scenario; which is editing the cost center groups. For instance, instead of having the group set as a range from 100 to 300, the groups are have listed the cost centers, 100, 200 and 300. Obviously, the disadvantage of this option is that it would require a bit of more cost center group maintenance.
In regards to point 2, I understand from your note that your users already have set up selection variants for the report. One option for you is to get the help from a developer to create a custom period variable and tiny program that runs in batch every month that would update that variable accordingly. Once that's done, you may have to update at least once, the selection variant attributes to change the period to a selection variable, so everytime from that point of time forward that the variable gets updated, it will be ready with the right value for every selection variant that uses it.

Custom CSS-Applying selected background for all the cols in the report

I am trying to set a particular background for all the columns in the report(not for all the projects,so that I can avoid option of manually setting background color for complete report.For this I thought custom CSS is best option.So edited custom.css(C:\OBI11g_Middleware\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\app\res\s_blafp\b_mozilla_4) file with below code and went to the Answers-> Criteria->Choose Column->style-> check "Use Custom CSS Class"->MyCell

I started manually writing the code instead of pasting and almost worked.In the mentioned below paths I dont have custom.css file,so I created one and manually entered below code.But does it work for only that particular column and not for all the columns.Is it supposed to work for all the columns or just that column.
For example: I have 2 cols in the report,I used "Use Custom CSS Class" -> MyCell for the first column and when I ran results it shows background color for only col1 and not for col2.I thought this feature will apply background color for all the columns in the report.Please correct me if I am wrong.

What are the appropriate document/stage dimensions in Flash (width x height in pixels) for tablet optimized apps?

Using Flash and AIR for Android/iOS I would like to develop a educational interactive title optimized for tablet PCs, hopefully both the Android but finally also the iOS platforms. With so many tablets on the market today and with different resolutions (and even aspect ratios) I have difficulty deciding what document/stage size to set for my project/app. I have been experimenting with an Android Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Note 10 tablets and discovered that Android automatically resizes the app's stage to fully fit the screen of the tablet BUT this creates the following two issues for me:
if the stage/document size in Flash is too small and I include bitmaps when the app's stage is enlarged to fit the tablet screen the bitmaps look pixelated.
If I make the stage dimensions too big so that there is no bitmap pixelation because the bitmaps will be shrank instead of enlarged, I am afraid that on some older tablets with slower processors the app may be too slow to run (but I have to say that I did not experiment with very large stage dimensions yet).
Until today I had looked at some of the most commonly used tablets on the market and their resolutions Google Nexus 7, Samsung Note, iPads etc and was inclined towards using a stage size of approximately 1280 x 720 pixels which I considered a medium solution, but now the new generation tablets came out (Nexus 7 gen 2, iPad Mini with Retina, iPad AIR etc) with much higher resolutions so I don't know what size to use now. Anybody has any suggestions?

You explained your problem well enough that looking at the picture won't matter. It looks like you found out too late that one of the first things you should do when you create a Flash file is set the movie properties, which include the dimensions and other things like background color, frame rate, publish settings, etc. While the string that I just listed can pretty much be revised anytime, the dimensions should really be done before anything else, when possible.
One way to go about resizing is to leave the file as is and specify the larger dimensions in the html page code. This could end up reducing the quality of any bitmaps you might have in the file(s) since you would essentially be enlarging them, but any Flash drawn elements will resize cleanly.
If you resize the stage, then you don't have much choice but to resize and relocate everything in it keyframe by keyframe.

How do i insert a splash screen or a loading screen and a application image for a phone app on Dreamweaver 6, 5.5 had the mobile application setting that is seemingly no longer present? and i also heard you can use animanted backgrounds on the mobile application in dreamweaver 6 but figuring out how to set the splash screen and application image like it was in 5.5 would be nice. All i can get to pull up is the web application i developed i am trying to build into a phone app on google chrome, if i could officially designate it as a phone app where i can set each splash screen and app image to where it is recognized as a phone app that would be really nice.

How do you change the volume used for group folders in Lion Server?

So I'm slowly acclimating to Lion Server, however, I'm not able to determine how to specify the parent folder for Groups. By default it's the /Groups root directory on the boot volume however I'm trying to change it to an alternate drive on a separate volume. I've tried removing the sharepoint from the 'Server' admin utility and adding the alternate Group folder (on a separate volume) but to no avail.
Has anyone else worked with this?

Open Workgroup Manager app, from the ServerAdminTools, (link) enter your domain name for your server (FQDN), enter your OpenDirectory administrator user and password, go to Groups > Groups Folder.

In Pages, how can I set a background for the whole document?

I tend to regard Pages as more of a page layout program than a simple word processor, so I use it for stuff containing graphics as well as text. Now I want to put a kind of frame around every page in the document, and I want this frame to be effectively a background for everything else, with it being my responsibility for the remainder of the material to stay in the frame. I can't see any feature that allows this apart from Headers and Footers, and as far as I can see, these are not supposed to occupy the whole page, just the top and bottom.
Can anyone give a good technique for configuring a background in this way?

This forum has helped me to partially answer my own question, in that I see now that I want to create a template with a section master that contains my graphic. But when I tried to do this, the menus for making a graphic (in my case a grouped item) part of a section master just didn't work. I am trying to follow the Help page "Using Master Objects (Repeated Background Images), but so far I can't get the menus to undim.
Can anyone help?

Unable to add AD user or group in app-v 5.0 management console

Hi,
I am doing POC of app-v 5.0 at customer’s environment. I did the testing of app-v 5.0 in my test lab environment and its working fine but at customer environment I am getting below error in app-n management console.
Invalid input was passed.
There was an error on the server. Please view the event logs on the server for more information.
I am getting the above error when I am going to add or giving access to any active directory user or group in app-v console. Below are the snapshots.
So can anyone help me in this?

What does the AD environment look like? Have you confirmed that there are no issues with authentication and name resolution?
Is this a clean server that you're running the Management Server on?
What's in the event logs?

Downloaded backgrounds for Photobooth - Photobooth now crashes

I wasn't sure where to post this question. Several months ago I downloaded extra backgrounds for Photobooth from the apple website. The original photobooth backgrounds work, but as soon as I click to view the new backgrounds, Photobooth will crash. I was unsure about what to do, so I tried to delete the application from my downloads file. This did not solve the problem. Now I cannot remember the name of the file that I downloaded and I do not know how to fix my Photobooth. How can I permanently delete the downloaded backgrounds and fix my photobooth when I do not know the name of the downloaded material?

By going to the place you downloaded the backgrounds from. View each one. One of them should jog your memory. Redownload to find out if it also comes with an uninstaller & use it.
If it does not come with an uninstaller, do not install. Use AppCleaner to uninstall the app, repair permissions and restart your computer.

HT6065 When do we get a proper fix for the Mail App?

When do we get a proper fix for the Mail app on my iMac? The last one made things worse. Or ta least, how can I roll back the OS to Mountain Lion?

Mail has stopped refreshing as it should. When I click the get new mail envelope, there used to be a sound after around five seconds if there were no new notifications. When I try that now the program just hangs. When I look at 'Force Quit', which incidentally I have to open another app or Finder window in order to access because Mail freezes totally, including the Apple menu, it says that Mail isn't responding. The Mac won't shut down sometimes because Mail won't quit. If I manage to open a mail and then go to another inbox, the whole thing is liable to hang. Using Apple help just before Christmas I cleared out the old cache that M.Lion left behind and now there isn't a cache for Mail.
We are on Tiscali Broadband through a multi-port router and usually getting around 11Mb download speeds. My mail addresses are either tiscali.co.uk or gmail. It will not successfully send group mails either, despite the upgrade before Christmas. I never had a problem with M.L. and Mail. From looking at the Forums it seems I am not alone here. I also have a windows pc and an iPhone and they both access my mail addresses without any problem.

Hi,
I had the same issue regarding WLS8.1 to WLS10 migration with MDBs.
Contacted BEA support. The solution for me was to add a WorkContext
and assign the weblogic.app.internal.AdminMode.
From the Admin console:
1) Create a workcontext
click workcontext -> Work Context Resources -select new-> path: add weblogic.app.internal.AdminMode then "all actions"
Make sure you save them and released the configuration
2) Add the policy to the existing weblogic.app.internal.AdminMode workcontext,
select the work context resource-> weblogic.app.internal.AdminMode -> select Policy tab-> Select
"DefaultAuthorizer" Select "Add Condition"-> Select "Group" Select "Next" -> Add "everyone" into "Group Argument Name" Then save.
That did the trick for me. In cluster and standalone.

Sorry it hasn't worked out for you. I threw together a simple project that uses rectangles to represent your Bike and wheel groups. They all animate across the canvas in the bike group and the wheels rotate. I have attached screen shots so you can see how they are constructed.
This image showsthe bike group where the orange rectangle and green circle represent the frame. The white rectangles represent wheels and the green and red rectangles I threw in to represent a wheel that has multiple objects in its group as your wheels do.
Here the animation across the screen has started and notice all wheels rotating and staying with the frame.

Since the update....I can get my abcontact or my group text app to work. These apps were purchased. Please help!!! I use my phone for my business.

If these are purchased, third-party apps, then it appears that they are not compatible with iOS 7. You'll need to wait until the developer(s) have upgraded their software. You might try to find these developers on the web to see if there are any announcements about incompatibilities. They may have a forum where you can post a message.
I just checked on the iTunes store, abcontact was last updated Sept. 2012, a year ago. In looking over the user comments, the last one (Sept '13) indicates that it doesn't work with iOS 7 and asks the developer to please update.
Considering the lack of updates, in over a year, this doesn't look good.
