Background music

Maybe a stupid question:
Is it possible to send a mp3-file with mail so that when the recipient opens the mail the music starts to play. If possible how can you do it?
thx

It is more work than it's worth. You need to send an html formatted email, which is easier to do with other mail apps (like SeaMonkey). But it can be done, you still need to write the code elsewhere and paste it into Mail. Although Mail is supposedly HTML friendly, in reality it does not like you messing with HTML code directly.
However...... if you use:
EMBED SRC=your_file.mp3 AUTOSTART=true HIDDEN=true LOOP=1
in your email, it should work. (you can't just paste it in your email, you need to put the line in your html coded letter)
_Or you could just..._
It would be far easier (and more polite) to just put the mp3 file into your email with an embedded player, and put in large letters above it "click here to play" or something similar to get the reader to click on the play button.
To put the sound file in your email with an embedded player, from the finder select the mp3 file. Under the Finder's 'Finder' menu, scroll down to services, scroll down to mail and across to select 'send file'. This will open a new email with the mp3 file set up with a player bar. You can finish the email and send, or copy and paste the player into an existing email.
People often don't want music playing when reading email...... i.e. at work

  • How can I get the background music from iMovie trailer, "Romance"to be used in another imovie?

Is there any way to download the background music from the  iMovie trailer template "Romance" to be used in another iMovie of greater length than that of a trailer?

In addition to Tom's good advice, another method is to access the audio file in iMovie's package contents folder.
In Finder, in the Applications folder, right-click (or control-click) on iMovie.app and select Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu. Open the folder Contents>Resources. In that folder you will find components for each Trailer, including the soundtrack. The file you are seeking is named "SoundTrack - Romance.m4a".
Copy then paste the file to your Desktop (don't otherwise mess with items in package contents folders!). Open the file in QuickTime - it is titled "Love Story FC2". Opening the Inspector in QuickTime (Window>Show Movie Inspector) reveals it as AAC format. If you wish, as Tom indicated, you can Export the file from QuickTime in other sound formats, such as AIFF. If preferred, you can import either the AAC file or the converted file to iTunes (or other audio apps) for use as required.

  • I am trying to include a number of iTunes tracks to my iMovie project as background music. However, when I drag and drop the tracks into the grey areas between thumbnail pics, they seem to be locking into specific clips

How can I stop this from happening? I simply want to have a number of tracks playing one after the other as background music from the start to finish of my project.

    What version of iMovie?
    What Device?
Have tried to restart, soft reset your device?
What is the video audio source?
This forum is for iMovie iOS (ipads & iphones).
Are you referring to iMovie Mac?
If so I can get your post moved.

  • How do I add multiple background music clips to iMovie

Trying to add multiple background music to iPhoto clips to make a vacation iMovie but when I add a music clip, it shoots right to beginning rather than stopping at the end of last clip added. I've pinned my background music to the first clips but want to add more background music but can't make it stop at the right photo clip. How do I place new background music at the right clip?

I don't use iPhoto (but read your post since it mentioned iMovie which I do use) - anyway, you're not talking about the application iMovie - you're talking about a movie.
So I am guessing, but it may work the same as it would with iMovie:
Can you select the audo clip and  simply drag it to the spot you want it to start? Or, mocw the playhead to the spot where you want it to start then import it?
FYI, it would be helpful to indicate which Mac OS version  you are running - it is not iOS 6 which is for iDevices.

  • Adding Background Music Underneath Narration on a Single Slide in Capt 5

I just finished putting together my first Adobe Captivate 5 project and  there is one last detail I need to learn how to do. I have recorded  narration on every slide. I now want to insert background music  underneath my title (first) slide and on the conclusion (last) slide.   Somehow I accomplished this on the first slide, but I cannot remember  how I did it and cannot seem to replicate it on the last slide. I  imported the jingle called Corporate Video2 from the Adobe library. When  I click on my last slide and go to Properties and click Edit Audio, I  hear my narration. When I click on my last slide and then go up to the  little music note icon up top on the toolbar called “Background Audio” I  see and hear the corporate video jingle. How do I meld these into one audio file? What is the  proper technique to add background audio? Should you lay down the  background music first and then record audio or the other way around? Is  there some little trick or glitch I’m missing? I only want to do this on one slide, not the entire project. When I preview the  project I only get narration, no music, even though when I go to  Background Audio, it looks like I have successfully imported the music  file. PLEASE HELP! I got this far and want to put this project to bed!  Thank you.

    Hi there,
    Welcome to Adobe Captivate Forums
In Captivate audio can be recorded to 1. Slides, 2. Objects and 3. Project background.
So you can record in whatever way you want to. In the case from what you mention, i can understand that you need to add background audio to first and last slide of your project.
First let me explain you that background audio will be for the entire project. So if you add an audio to project background then it plays for the project till the end of audio. If you want the audio to loop over and play again then you need to enable that option in background audio dialog. This way audio will play in background for the entire project.
Now considering your case i can understand that you have recorded audio for individual slides. So the slides already have a audio and you cant add two audio files to the slide. To accomplish this what you can do is to insert a text caption on first slide ( and last slide) of the project and make the text caption transparent. Later you can delete the text of the text caption . This way you have an object on slide which is not visible to others. Now you can import audio( background music) to this text caption and in the published output you can hear the audio from the text caption and the slide audio.
This will give you narration + Background audio on specific slides effect.
Try it out and let us know if you wanted anything more than this.
    Thanks

  • How do I find background music loops on Captivate 7?

I'd like to put background music in, but can't find it on Captivate 7 AND can't import loops from Garage band.  Either one would work.
    Thanks,
    Mary

Thanks, Bob, you hear what I'm asking.  I've done that and when I do the menu I get displays my iTunes - and then only songs I've saved there that I haven't bought.  I can see stuff I've made on Garage Band, but that's all greyed out - I can't access it.
What I'd like to get is the dialogue box with the music loops provided by captivate.  Any ideas?

  • How do I find and save the background music file of my Flash site?

I see that the background music in my Flash site is located in a symbol called muz.  When I click the properties of this symbol, the sound file's location is listed as .\flash\sound\muz.wav  I couldn't find that sound sub-folder in the flash folder nor could I find the file.  I tried doing a search to look for the muz.wav file in my computer but it could not be found.  Does anyone know how I can find and save this file?  Can the symbol somehow be exported and the sound file be extracted that way?

I copied and pasted the symbol into an empty .fla file.  This new .fla file is just 1 frame.  Can you tell me what you mean by "spreading" it along the timeline?  When I tried exporting it to a .wav file (as just 1 frame in timeline), I only hear a fraction of a fraction of the first note of the music in the generated .wav file.  The music is heard fine in its entirety when previewing the .fla file (F12).
By the way, in the symbol's properties, there is an option to "Export for ActionScript" and an option to "Export for runtime sharing".  Do you think any of these would work?

  • Looking for recommendations for video/film background music resources

    Hello
I am looking for background music for a client.  I need to be able to browse samples and download them for client approval before purchase of the music  license.
This will be for music that is playing behind dialogue, so I am looking for instrumentals and/or beats.
    Thanks!
    Rowby

Here is a little LIST that I have been keeping. Some of the music and SFX are free, and some are for sale.
For background music,  I rely heavily on SmartSound, and here is an ARTICLE on using it.
    Good luck,

  • One song on my iPhone only plays the background music on the build-in iPhone speakers. The song has been on my phone for a while and it used to play just fine. With the headphones on it plays normally.

Please help! (I'm actually doing this for a friend but still)
    All you need to know:
    - iPhone 4 16GB
    - iOS 6.0.3 (I think, not the latest iOS but the one before that)
    - Song which started to act strange: niggas in Paris
    - All songs work fine on headphones (including above)
    - The song has been on the iPhone for a couple of months and used to play without any trouble
    - When you play it on the iPhone's speakers you either only hear the background music, no sound at all (for a few seconds) or a weird old FM-radio noise
    - Plays fine on iTunes
    All help is appreciated!
    Thanks.

I have this issue too.  Same specs, newest OS.  Happening on "O.N.E." by Yeasayer, but doesn't play the vocals through the speaker or headphone jack, unlike your issue.  I just get all but the vocal track no matter what.  Plays fine in iTunes.  If you never get that distortion through the speaker any other time, maybe you can delete the song.
In my case, I can't delete the song through the phone since I use iTunes Match, but if you actually sync the songs/download them, that would be my first suggestion (swipe across, hit "delete.").  Maybe that would work?  Then resyncing or redownloading.
If not, maybe resetting or restoring may be the fix.

  • Why does my MacBook Pro make background music and video quieter when I am on FaceTime?

Why does my MacBook Pro make background music and video quieter when I am on FaceTime? When my girlfriend and I are trying to watch a movie on Netflix together while on FaceTime my MacBook Pro always decreases the volume of any background sound on my computer so I can barely hear it. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you!

Have the same issue too. Apple can you please change this annoying feature. You are making long distance relationships more difficult.
I like how Facetime was with the old iOS, where nothing was dimmed. OR at least maybe if you could give users the option to turn on or off dimming of facetime.

  • Can't see my iTunes library when selecting background music for a slideshow

I don't see my iTunes library when I'm selecting background music for a slideshow -- I have tried using iphoto help (seee below) and it didn't work:
"If you don't see your iTunes library:
Quit both iTunes and iPhoto. Relaunch iTunes first, then iPhoto.
If you recently installed iLife software, it's a good idea to open each application in the following order: iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, and then iDVD. Because these applications are integrated to browse and import files from each other's media libraries, this ensures that you will be viewing the most up-to-date versions of your music library, photo library, and movies folder no matter what application you're using.
Recreate your iTunes Music Library.xml file. Quit iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and iTunes. Click the Finder icon in the Dock, and choose Go > Go to Folder. Type "~/Music/iTunes" or "~/Documents/iTunes" and click Go. Drag the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file to your desktop. Open iTunes and create a new playlist by choosing File > New Playlist. Quit iTunes and open iPhoto to make sure you can see your iTunes library when creating a slideshow."
    Any suggestions?
    MacBook1,1   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   using itunes 7.0.2 (15) and iphoto 6.0.5 (316)
    MacBook1,1   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   versions: itunes 7.0.2 (15) iphoto 6.0.5 (316)

I have this problem also - tried following advice giving from original problem.
My settings are through the what I call the Lug Nut icon - no arrows and no dimple showing on my screen.
Is there some small thing I'm missing here - weird thing is that iDVD allows me to access my iTunes library - no problem.
When I go to Finder it tells it can't find my Music folder??? I can see it in the sidebar .....
Any suggestions - I don't know how to send those screen shots but what a great idea.

  • What is the background music to this video I know it's a ilife jingle or sound effect but what is it

I was a watching a video of a prank from these well known prank ears on youtube and I want to know what the background music is I know for a fact that it is a ilife jingle or sound effect but I don't know what it is here's a link to that video listen to the background music please reply. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adcy-66et3s
It is also at the beginning of a video by theroyalstampede just goto their vids and look for superman car yard
It's like an irish theme but WHAT IS IT ?

Shazam identifies it as "Dirry Of Dj Smellyballz 2" by Big J. This could be wrong of course - I've never heard of that particular tune. My first attempt to identify it picked up the tune in the ad preceding the video clip, hence my reason for deleting my earlier post.
I agree with AppleMan in that I've never come across it in the iLife jingles.

  • How can I insert an image into an mov file in iMovie while keeping the background music?

I have a short MOV file movie clip that has background music but one of the images (it's a static element with text) is incorrect. How can I replace the image but keep the backgroup the same? Also what size would the image need to be to properly fit?
    Thank you!

  • I cannot hear the vocals on downloaded movies on Apple TV. Ithe background music and sound effects only. What can I do to fix  this please?

I cannot hear the vocals on downloaded movies on Apple TV.
I can hear the  background music and sound effects only.
What can I do to fix  this please?

Most movies have Dolby surround sound. Seems like you don't have all sound channels coming out of your speakers.
Is the AppleTV connected to a receiver or to a TV?
If you have a receiver that supports dolby surround you should configure the sound settings of the Apple TV and receiver accordingly.
If it's connected to a TV the audio setting "Dolby Digital" in the Apple TV should be set to off.

  • IMovie: When i put in music for the background of my clips, my clips go quieter, but then when i take the music out it goes loud. I tried to edit the music to try and make it go quiet like background music would, but it isn't working?

In iMovie on my new MacBook Pro. I'm editing a video of mine (As i make videos for YouTube), i put in the clips, then i put in background music. But when the music is there, the clips go really quiet. I'm trying to change that but it isn't working, i've edited the clips to make any other sound go quiet on the audio bar, but that hasn't worked either. I've tried to edit the music to go quiet on the audio bar, but that didn't work. Nothing is working!! It's like the music is taking over! You can barely hear the sound of the clips talking. Then after the background music has finished, if there is any clips left over, the clips go really loud!
It's geting me really annoyed, i've tried everything.
Can anybody help? Even suggestions would work!

I'd be posting in the iMovie forum for iMovie help.

  • How do you add background music to a DVD chapter menu in iDVD?

I just need to add background music to a DVD menu-the main menu
    thanks

Just to cover the bases, did you check the audio slider bar to the lower right of the iDVD menu screen to make sure that the sound is turned up, or check the menu slider bar for audio in the Menu pane?
Is your song in aiff format?
Sometimespermissions and preferences can get corrupted. Whenever iDVD starts acting funny, a common maintenance procedure is to do the following: Delete preferences by closing iDVD and trashing the file com.apple.iDVD.plist found in User (the House icon)/Library/Preferences. Then do a permissions repair usingthe Utilities/Disk Utility App on your Mac. Open the Disk Utilities window and select the Mac hard drive icon at the top of the side pane at the left. Then click on the Repair Permissions button. When you have repaired permissions and deleted preferences, restart your computer and launch iDVD. iDVD will replace the .plist file that you deleted. Be sure also that you have sufficient free disk space on your hard drive for iDVD to function correctly. 25GB often is recommended by users of this forum. After doing all of the above, relaunch iDVD and see whether you still have the problem.
