Backing up external HD to TC, but I can't see it when I disconnect the exHD

I backed up my external HD with my photo libraries to my TC. It took a few hours, but there were no errors. As long as the LaCie HD is plugged in, I can see it when I enter TM. But when I disconnect the LaCie HD, I can't find any way to see the contents in TM. This seems useless to me, since I want a backup in case I lose the HD. If I can only access the contents when I still have the device, then it's not really useful. Any help would be appreciated.

It is normal not to show up in devices in Finder since the iPhone does not allow files to be transferred that way. You use iTunes to move music and other things to the phone using the following instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386

iTunes sees what iPhoto sees, iPhoto only sees one library at a time.
Either merge your libraries or upload content from one of your libraries to a service such as Flickr and use the Flickr feature on the Apple TV.

It sounds like you open the Camera Roll and see the image thumbnails, but when you tap them to view them larger, the image does not show at all. I have a few recommendations for this. First start by closing the open apps on the phone.

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone and re test the issue.

ICloud deleted my contacts but i can still see them when i search for them when im texting... how do i get my contacts back?

I tried out iCloud today and it took away all my contacts...and no i did not set up time machine
when i searched online to see what the problem was all i got was "back up the device" or "turn the contact button off and on in iCloud and then hit merge"
I did all of that but my Wi-Fi at my college ***** whale so i cant "merge" my contacts even though im pretty sure backed it up already 2 times with the contacts switch in the on position meaning that my contacts must be gone...
but theres hope when i was texting i searched a name in the "contact search bar" and all my contacts are still there!
soo someone please help me get to the next step for getting them back before i go insane! thanks!

Shut down the computer.

You say the music is not on the external HD, the music list (iTunes?) is empty, and it is not on the iPOd. Then where is the music you want to move to the external HD?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

The problem is non compatible devices. You could go to a Verizon corporate store and they could try to transfer them, however many customers stated this has resulted in loss of contacts. They don't guarantee a transfer.

Restoring your phone, as is required to complete the unlock of your phone WILL update your iOS to the most current version. There's no way around this.
Either you keep 5.0.1 and a locked phone, or you get 6.0 and an unlocked phone. Your choice.

That does happen. It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system. If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.
