Bad after sales service - just can't get a reliable answer

First let me say, I love Lenovo products, particularly Thinkpads.  Lenovo after sales service though is turning out to be abysmal... I just cannot get a reliable answer to a simple question.
I have been chasing an outstanding order for a "43N3412 ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapt" now for over 6 weeks. The original ship date was 2012/04/19.
Every week I go through the same ritual, I call customer service chasing the order and am told the units will be received in the next few days and ship sometime "this" week , and yes I can rely on that information. Each week it does not ship.
I've called customer service more than 9 times trying to get a straignt answer, escalated to supervisors etc. all to no avail.  Same answer, same lack of shipped product.
I understand some products can be on constraint. What really bugs me though is that when I placed the order it was not, and I am repeatedly told "it will ship in the next 2-3 days" and it does not.
Bottom line is that I feel I am being a line of bull****, just to get rid of me...
What do I have to do to get a reliable answer?

    im sorry however im not quite sure what exactly happened to your TX.
    please give full details on what did happened to it. giving the full details will somehow give us a headstart where can we start addressing your concerns.
    as for the replacement process. palm are currently doing it by region and it should be place specific where the device was purchased.
    each region has its own support policy in accordance to it standards.
    in your case it was in venezuela, it should be handled by the latin america support.
    for argentina it's 0800-288-7256 (PALM) while for venezuela it's 0800-100-6878.
    the TX is using NVRAM or non-volatile RAM that will hold information even if the device is not charge for a long time.
    that is for the purpose of not losing the data which was the common issue with the devices not having NVRAM. all of them are much older than the TX.

    The only email I have ever comes across for complaints would be [email protected] (it is not mis-spelled).  I don't know if it is still of use.
    Chat is going to be your only option for getting help, and you shouldn't be surprised if they don't offer help due to your product no longer being supported (sad but true).
    If you had not mentioned that you have an email confirming you registered (double-check that) I would have told you that you probably did not purchase thru Adobe and never registered it so they have no record of you owning it.  They do not email serial numbers for disc purchases - they are provided with the discs as you were told in chat.

    This message, and threads like yours got asked daily for over two years, now it is only a couple times a week!!
    Is it so hard to follow through? you were to have backup already, clones are best, then erase/format and restore.
    Then partition.
    Some have been able to use Disk Utility booted from OS X DVD or another drive, and repair the drive.
    You have to use Boot Camp Assistant (99.9% anyway) to create and achieve a proper Windows Master Boot Record partition.

There are 12,733 songs, a few dozen of which are not going to be in the Apple music library because they are unique to my collection. Also, some titled "Track XX" and no artist. I assume these would either not upload or else just be uploaded. But, after an overnight of step 2, the iTunes match program was still on song number 7384 or 12733 (it was on that number for over 12 hours). Looking in the music library, activating the iCloud icon and status fields, there were hundreds of songs with the status "waiting."

    Well it could still be a software problem if you installed a third party program after the OS X wipe and install, because by booting into Safe Mode it disables certain functions of OS X and hardware.     If you restored any sort of software from backup like TimeMachine, it likely was corrupted data and now is returned.
    If the college tech support found a lot of dust clogging the rear exhaust vents behind the fans, then likely the heat damage done to the machine has already occured and can't be reversed. Video cards are usually first to go, which Safe Mode does disable the video card somewhat.

    Lenovo's after sales service is the worst I have ever experienced across all product/ service categories.
    I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Z580 laptop 10 months ago. I was offered a free 3 year warranty upgrade as per Lenovo's "Do Shield" promotion. This was one of the reasons I chose Lenovo over other brands (A decision I’ve come to deeply regret). I had no clue their ‘warranty’ was actually a cruel joke on unsuspecting customers.
    In May 2013, one of the hinges connecting the LCD screen to the laptop body broke. I went ahead and registered a complaint with Lenovo tech support on 20th May 2013. I was told that the problem would be attended to within 48 hours. I waited for one whole week and got no response from Lenovo. On following up with Lenovo service,  I was informed that it will take one more month since the parts are not available in India and have to be sourced from China. After following up numerous times, the problem was fixed on June 13, 2013 - 23 days after my service request was registered.
    This turned out to be just the beginning of my woes with Lenovo. Within a week of this repair job, my screen started flickering eventually going completely blank white. I registered another complaint with Lenovo tech support on July 2, 2013 and was again told that I will get a response within 48 hrs. Just like the previous occasion, I waited for one week and got no response. On following up with tech support I was given the same old answer that the part has to be sourced from China and can take up to 45 days. However, I was assured that my case would be taken up on priority and resolved by 31st July. That deadline too lapsed and the same story was repeated on following up on at least 4 more occasions. As of today, 50 days after my complaint was registered, it still remains unresolved.
    I am truly amazed that any company can get by with this level of apathy towards customers. Anybody in the market for a laptop and considering Lenovo – You’ve been warned!

    It takes an enormous amount of patience and time to get through to a qualified person.
    My Samsung S5 was locked out and needed a factory reset. Including attempts to achieve this locally, it took over an hour before my problem was even addressed.
    You may be interested in my journey to a very good technical support person.
    First I called the local sales person who had given me his personal business card with the friendly advice to call me with any questions. No answer at about 8:30 am when the business was open. His voice mailbox was full.
    Then I called the local store where I had purchased the phone. The person who answered the phone had learned all the proper stock phrases, but was not familiar with the issue, stated that there were no customers in the store, and I should go there in about an hour when there would be more staff. He suggested dialing *411 from my phone (which was locked). Then he gave me a number to call Verizon, which he had to look up, and it took a minute or so. The number was (removed). That is an internal number for employees and contractors and requires a code to access, obviously not designed for customers' use. He finally cut me off by stating that there were a number of customers in line waiting for his attention!
    After researching all my papers I found 800-922-0204 on my bill. The automated message suggested a hold time of 5 minutes, it took 20 minutes for a Customer Service Representative to pick up, and then I was referred to technical assistance. The hold time was announced to take 5 minutes, after 12 minutes I finally was connected.
    Fortunately I had my computer set up for Skype on a loudspeaker, and was able to do some other paperwork while waiting.
    Persistence was rewarded by having the good fortune to be connected to a very experienced, qualified and patient technical support staff with the name of Thomas (removed). He solved my problem, answered my questions during the process of resetting the phone, and gave an example of courteous and kind customer service that I had never experienced before when dealing with any major internet company.

    Each country is a separate business. If Apple in Australia fixes a phone purchased in another country it reduces their profit. The good news is that Apple stores will frequently replace phones purchased in other countries under warranty, but they are not required to do so. Some countries are more liberal than others. India never does, for example.
    Why don't you just buy it in Australia? The price difference can't be that great.

  • After Sales Service of HP - leading to garbage

    I have purchased a Laptop in Feb,2013 and suddenly, it stopped working. I have louge complaint against it by more than 18 days. They are still solving it but no initiative from their side. I am continuously follow them but customer care put my call on hold for more than 30 mins and after that they cut my call. It has happned twice in a day. As we are professional and required informations from my laptop urgently, they are taking it very lightly. If they dnt want to give after sales service then specify clearly at the time of sales. Company doesnt have value to money time and customer's urgency.
    We will never suggest any one to buy hp. Just disgusting and so rude personnel.
    They are useless. Service is pathetic. Company doesnt have stock of parts also. They are taking 20 days time to convey message that parts will come. but they never say when will engineer will come and repair it.
    Secondly, They told me to call engineer directly and request him to come on sight. Wow, Now customers has to trace engineers also. Isnt it their duty to send engineers on sight and on time????
    How pathetically you guys are running your company...!!!!!!
    so big name and no parts in stock for 20 days?????!!!!!!!!! R u kidding customers??????? waiting for half an hour on customer care line???? shortage of manpower??? Chasing to engineers by customers????? company is paying ppl or not????? Is this sign of bankrupcy?????

    Update software. If that doesn't work try resetting.  Mine started working after the update.

    My father purchased hp mini 210-1085TU, serial number- {Removed for privacy}, product- wk946pa#acj. We are not satisfied with the after sale service. There was a problm related to fan twice in warranty period but we overcame the problem and wanted an extended warranty as the same problem occurred twice. But to our astonishment we were denied and were told that the company is not offering any such warranty. As our warranty period expired the same problem occurred again and now the company is offering an extended warranty but only to those who are in warranty period. Had our product been in an extended warranty period we would have paid much less amout than what we need to pay now. This shows an improper planning in this organization which affects the customer badly.  I would be highly obliged if the company consider’s our problem and give us an extended warranty.

    After sales service is dealt with a module called Customer Service.
    Once the faulty material comes back, a notification is created and either the material is repaired inhouse or is sent to a vendor for repair. A service order is created for the same referring to a PR (if sent to external vendor).
    To replace the material to the customer, a sales order is created referring to the notification and subsequent delivery. There is no billing in this case.

  • Horrible after sales service in India- exorbitant spare costs

    I had occassion to visit the lenovo support center in Nehru Place, New Delhi a couple of times.
    I have purchased 2 k920 smartphones in preference to bigger names because of high end specs.
    It is an HCL centre catering to many brands, and only one person attends to Lenovo.
    The visitors register will show you that maximum visitors are for Lenovo, because of its mass base, and market share.
    The waiting time is long, the atmosphere suffocating. There is not even air conditioning. The staff lacks basic courtesies.
    The charges for a broken screen were quoted as 14,000 for a k920, which is too much for a 30k phone. Slippage and broken screen is common, and lenovo should price its spares reasonably, in line with its value for money concept for phones. I am in a dilemna, whether to get the repair done or buy a new phone for the cost of repair estimate.
    We expect Lenovo to have its dedicated , state of the art service centres with professionalism. 
    The image of the brand takes a hit with such poor after sales service arrangement.
    I expect an early response.
