SelectManyShuttle proxy usage with reset() and addItem() methods

I would like to pre-populate the trailing list of the shuttle with values that can change with a select one choice component. The leading list would be populated with another select one choice and these could be added to the existing values in the trailing list.
I am assuming I could do this by using a proxy
var proxy2 = new ShuttleProxy("testShuttle2", "testForm2");
and using the addItem() method for the trailing list. Then doing a reset() each time the select one choice component is changed.
I would just like to know if this is do-able and if there are any more detailed examples than can be found at
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/tagdoc/core/selectManyShuttle.html
Thanks

Hi,
I think this all better comes from a single selection list that you build e.g. in a managed bean. Based on the selected value of the selectOnceChoice poplist, you can then pre-select elements from the list.
Note that using separate lists bears the problem of what to do when the user de-selects an item. How do you recover this?

• Configuring a proxy server with username and passw...

Dear All,
There is one thing which I have found in all the Nokia phones I have had until now which I find very disappointing:
A proxy server can be set BUT a username and password for it cannot.
In the case of trying to connect to the Internet outside a corporate network normally a proxy connection with username and password has to be entered.
I can enter the proxy server on my Nokia phone but there is no place to enter a username and password in order to authenticate in front of the proxy server.
Does Nokia think about adding this functionality, which, if I may say, has been in Windows Mobile since quite some time.
If not for all phones, at least for the E series which are intended to be used in secure business networks.
In the current situation I can use the corporate Wi-Fi to check my Exchange email which is great, but when I need to access something outside the corporate network I have to use the 3G network.
So two question arise from the above:
1. Will Nokia at some point implement Proxy Server Authentication? (Or maybe I'm not able to find it)
2. Is there any application which allows Proxy Server Authentication to be used when connecting to the Internet?
Thank you in advance for your help!

• Servlet with dopost and main() methods

I have pre-existing servlet code for maintenance purposes.
It received a request by POST action from the client. This class also has main() method where class is instasiated and processed.
Can anyone help me understand reason for having dopost and main() methods.
TIA

Before the days of JUnit developers would write a main method for a class as a way to test the class. Some older developers still do it. I know because I am dealing with the problem now.

• Wpad proxy problem with ie10 and 11

Hi,
We have been using a wpad.dat file for a number of years now to deploy our proxy settings. We currently have ie9 on all machines and the wpad.dat file works. When we upgrade to ie10 or 11 the wpad settings do not work and we have to manually
set the proxy. Does anyone know how to get this working with ie10 and 11?
We have the wpad.dat file on a web server, are using DHCP 252 and have an entry in DNS. The OS on the machines is Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
We want the user to be able to access the internet a work and also access the internet externally without manually changing the proxy settings.

Hi,
Here is a important thing that I want to point out, If you are using Windows Server 2008 (or later) as your DNS server, you might have to disable the
DNS Server Global Query Block List, or even modify the registry to edit the list of blocked queries to remove "wpad" from the DNS global query block list, otherwise, WPAD will not work.
Here's a blog we can refer to:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/isablog/archive/2008/02/19/windows-server-2008-dns-block-feature.aspx
Some other troubleshooting steps in the link below are also helpful

• Proxy use with uverse and mac

Hi,
I'm trying to use a proxy (BTGuard) with my Mac Mini and MacBook that are connected to a 2wire 3800HGV-B (Uverse). I've tried opening the ports that the proxy is using to no avail. When I try it as a PC (running Paralells) is works fine, which leads me to beleive the Macs are not getting along with the 2wire. Would opening the 2wire on DMZPlus to an Airport Extreme resolve this issue? Any help would be appreciated. I hate running Paralells. Thanks!

If you are accessing GMail via IMAP labels can be configured like Mailboxes, and you can still use SmartMailboxes on your Mac. If you enable the Advanced IMAP controls in GMail's web interface you can configure which Labels/Mailboxes appear in IMAP email clients. And in Mac OS X Mail you can map Mail's default folders to GMails folders so everything stays in sync.
Have a read of the link below to see if it answers some of your concerns:
http://complexdiagrams.com/2009/01/19/imap-for-gmail-mailapp-iphone/
Why do you think you need an official GMail app? The email client that comes with the iPhone works fine with GMail. And there's the official web app.

• Does anyone have problems with data usage with att and Iphone5?

Hello, Does anyone have problems with data usage or non usage I should say with Iphone 5 and AT&T?

After 4+ months of dealing with this data usage and battery drain problem that included 3 data captures of my wife's iMac, the trigger for us regarding the problems syncing with iCloud, and 5 hours of logs off my iPhone 6 to be analyzed by Apple engineers that included times my wife's computer was both on and off to demonstrate the difference in data usage and battery drain under those conditions, I can say with very reasonable certainty that the iOS 8.3 and corresponding Mac OS 10.10.3 update has solved the problem.
We have now been running for about 2 weeks and data usage with the iCloud Servers attempting to sync has dropped from a rate of 31 GBs to under 15 MBs per month. Yes, you read it right. We were burning 2000 times as much data doing absolutely nothing important on both of our phones, a 5s and a 6. Just imagine what that does to battery life! The 5s would last about 5 hours and the 6 was dead in less than 14.
The distasteful aspect of this process was how the engineers were quietly fixing the problem at the same time sending messages to my contact person within Apple that were dismissive in nature in the face of indisputable unreasonable results. I must say, this experience with the multiple times the engineers' responses were inappropriate put a little tarnish on the old Apple shine of the ‘It just works’ mantra. This was my first experience in 34 years that caused me to stop recommending Apple products without reservations and with a disclaimer.
Since the update solved the problem, then I can only conclude that there was a logic bug regarding the reaction within the process to the incoming data that was corrected. There was noting short of logging out of iCloud that circumvented the problem for us, Gator5000e and probably many others noted on other threads. I am not trying to imply that this is the cause of everyones battery use problem, but it is reasonable that it was a cause for many.

In my application module I'm creating view object based on this entity object:
ViewObject regCardVO =
appModuleImpl.createViewObjectOnEntity("RegCardVO",
"model.entity.PpRegCardEO");
Then I want to find view object row by key.
Row[] foundRegCards = regCardVO.findByKey(new Key(new Object[] {new Number(1)}), 1);
But I have an exception: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00904: "PPREGCARDEO"."PP_REG_CARD_ID": invalid identifier .
The reason of exception in wrong SQL query that ADF-BC generates for method findByKey. The query is next:
SELECT
PP_REG_CARD_ID "PpRegCardId",
TAXPAYER_ID "TaxpayerId",
PARENT_TP_REG_CARD_ID "ParentTpRegCardId",
REGISTRY_CARD_NUMBER "RegistryCardNumber",
FIRSTNAME_DC_ID "FirstnameDcId",
LASTNAME_DC_ID "LastnameDcId",
PATRONYMIC_DC_ID "PatronymicDcId",
GENDER "Gender", BIRTHDAY_DT "BirthdayDt",
INVALIDATION_DT "InvalidationDt",
PASSPORT_ID "PassportId",
CITIZENSHIP_DC_ID "CitizenshipId",
TRAVEL_PASSPORT_EXISTS_FL "TravelPassportExistsFl",
ACTIVE_FL "ActiveFl",
UPDATED_BY "UpdatedBy",
UPDATED_DT "UpdatedDt",
CREATED_BY "CreatedBy",
CREATED_DT "CreatedDt"
FROM PP_REG_CARD
WHERE (PpRegCardEO.PP_REG_CARD_ID = ?)
We can see that in 'FROM' section table specified without alias, but in 'WHERE' clause the 'PpRegCardEO' alias is used with column name.
That is the why I have an ORA-00904 error.
Can anyone tell me is it possible to fix this problem ?

Hi,
I agree it's not expected, but I have no experience with this construction.
My first reaction is to avoid such constructions. One, because it's not very transparent. Two, because it's a waste of resources because the ViewObject has already been created. And third because it seems you have less control on the object. If you have no other option, maybe you could use createViewObjectFromQueryStmt.
However, it should be possible to bundle business components in an ADF library and import that one in the project that uses these BC's. This allows normal usage of these viewobjects in applicationmodules. I think this is the recommended approach.
Ciao

• Config Manager Agent - after Hardware Inventory High CPU Usage with WMIPRSVE and very fast empty Battery

Hi there,
since a few days there is on some machines (40-60) a high cpu usage on one core (quad core cpu machines) with the WMIPRSVE.EXE if the HARDWARE INVENTORY CYCLE started.
i try out some tests, read some forum articles and troubleshooting the WMI management but a real problem i doesn´t see.
in some articles i read that hardware inventory runs about minutes up to more hours but some machines runs longer, someone more as 1 day.
here an example of mine PC:
at 8:07 i started Hardware Inventory Cycle, in the InventoryAgent.log i can see that some Collection Namespace are captured.
after a few minutes there stopped and does nothing round about 5.9 hours or better, after 21436.097 Seconds.
For any hints i am grateful. :)

Looks like something in one or both of those wmi queries. it goes from 8:10:03 to 14:06:43 right around there. 6 hours to do that...
try running those queries from wbemtest manually; and see which one just never finishes.

• Norton reports high memory usage with firefox and it crashes often

Norton antivirus 2011 has pop up warnings reporting high memory usage from Firefox. I have been getting theem often and my computer is crashing often after those pop up warnings. Thanks

Safe mode did not help.
I have disabled ALL extensions and plug-ins, but the problem with "zig-zag" memory usage still remains (I've not tried to leave browser open for the night yet).
I think I'll do clean reinstall with completely new empty profile (without sync'ed information) to try this out. If this works, I'll start adding stuff (configuration, sync, features, etc) to see what causes the problem.

• Proxy Woes with RTMP and RTMPT

I know that the expected behavior of RTMP is to bypass proxy settings and attempt direct connections to the FMS. Is this also true for RTMPT connections?
Thanks.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I know my original post is minimal and does not supply any details about my setup, but I didn't think that was necessary.
Does the RTMPT protocol bypass a client's proxy server and attempt to make a direct connection to the FMS on port 80? Or does it allow the connection to run through port 80 via the proxy server?
I wasn't able to find anything in the FMS documentation that explicitly states which method is used by the RTMPT protocol.
Thanks.

• Index usage with nls_sort and nls_comp

Hi,
I have created a logon trigger
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "SYS"."ON_LOGON_SET__SCHEMA" AFTER
LOGON ON DATABASE BEGIN
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'alter session set NLS_SORT=BINARY_CI';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'alter session set NLS_COMP=LINGUISTIC';
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN NULL;
END;
because the user does not want case sensitive searches in the database.
However, when using this, Indexes on text fields are no longer used. What should I do with those indexes?

• Problem with File and his methods

Is there a way to know how much Files there is in a File.
MyFile contain MySubFile1 MySubFile2 and what i want my program to do is to return the number 2 (for my two subfiles).

File repracine = new File("namedir") ;
String[] tabfile ;
if (!repracine.exists())
repracine.mkdir() ;
tabfile = repracine.list() ;
for (int i=0;i<tabfile.length();i++)
System.out.println(tabfile) ;
problem: tabfile.length()...
Small changes have to be done..
1. length is not a method but an attribute of the array. That means that> for (int i=0;i<tabfile.length();i++) has to be for (int i=0;i<tabfile.length;i++)2. If you want just the number of files in your directory You don't need the for loop at all. All you need is the tabfile.length value. If you need to print the names of all the files in the directory then you better change line:>    System.out.println(tabfile) ; to >    System.out.println(tabfile) ;
Hope that helped.

• Database usage with Motion and/or Shake

Is it possible to create templates in motion that pull information from databases to fill drop zones? Since Shake uses c programming, can you merge a database with shake to create video content? For example, if you create a database and list in that database pics and text, can it be merged with Shake or Motion to create the video?

Motion doesn't have this kind of option at least at the moment.
Only thing that comes to my mind is that you can make database connections to Quartz Composer files and use those as generators in Motion through Noise Industries FxFactory Pro.
Of course if you're coder you can also edit Motion files (which are XML) with any text editor and change your drop zones by hand. Actually I think there was/is some program which allowed you to modify/render huge amount of Motion templates with information coming from different sources.
UPDATE: Okay now I remembered the product. It's Digital Heavens AutoMotion. No Idea how well it works but you can download trial from their site.

• Help with xmlListCollection and getItemAt method!

All,
I have a simple application in which I have a data grid, http sevice and xmllistcollection. I get the xml data and populate the xmllistcollection. Objective is to traverse the xmlcollection to get the first row, parse and set the column headers dynamically.
the first row in the xmllistcollection are the column headers. I am trying to get the values using the getItemAt(0) method, which does return a object but not sure how to traverse the object to draw the column headers for the data grid dynamically? below is the sample example
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import mx.collections.ArrayCollection;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
import mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent;
import mx.controls.Alert;
import mx.controls.dataGridClasses.DataGridColumn;
public function fetch():void
xmlRPC.send();
var i:int = 0;
var a:XMLList = new XMLList(xdata.getItemAt(0).toString() as XMLList);
Alert.show(a.text() + "a");
for each(var xml:XML in a)
Alert.show("I am inside" + i);
var attributes:XMLList = xml.attributes();
var o:Object = new Object();
for each (var attribute:XML in attributes)
Alert.show("I am  way inside" + i);
var nodeName:String = attribute.name().toString();
var value:*;
Alert.show(attribute.toString());
value = attribute.toString();
i = i+1;
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:HTTPService result="handleXMLnew(event);" fault="handleFault(event);" id="xmlRPC" resultFormat="e4x"
url="http://abc/Xcelsius/swat/RCD.xsql" useProxy="false">
</mx:HTTPService>
<mx:XMLListCollection id="xdata" source="{xmlRPC.lastResult.ROW}"/>
<mx:DataGrid dataProvider="{xdata}" x="24" y="110" id="adg1" width="694" height="168"/>
<mx:Button x="653" y="44" label="Go" click="fetch();"/>
</mx:Application>

try this, to parse and set the column headers dynamically.
