BAdI called on changes of development objects?

Hi!
I’m looking for a way to get notified when a development object (some code, DD-Item etc.) is changed. For example when it is saved, activated or added to a transport request. I would then like to run some ABAP Code to filter, do some logging and possibly sending an email.
I’ve already examined the BAdI CTS_REQUEST_CHECK but its method CHECK_BEFORE_ADD_OBJECTS is not yet implemented by SAP.
Can anyone point me to another BAdI or Enhancement Spot or some other solution to get aware of and handle changes?
BTW we are one NW 7.01

Change namespace for development objects

hi at all,
i have to transport a lot of customer development objects (reports, tables, programs, WebDynpro-components...) from one system to another development system. in the source system all customer-objects are named like Y* or Z* (e.g. Z_CM_COURSDETAILS).
After that in the target system i have to change this names into our own company namespace (like /ABCD/CM_COURSDETAILS).
How can i do this? The company namespace is activated an part of the view V_TRNSPACE.
So, do i have to change every object by myself? Or is there a report or another automaticly help?

You can probably write a small BDC in the target system which accepts one type of objects, rename the object and activate it.

Importing Development Objects in Integration Repository ?

Hi ,
How do i import development objects that have been exported ? e.g , i export a "message mapping" object using Tools->Export Development Objects, could see it stored in a folder in the XI server m/c , however , when i try import development objcts option from Tools menu, i don't see an option to specify the location of the .tpz file which has to be used for import !!
Also , if i try to import the message mapping object which was created in a different namespace to my new namespace, will there be any issues ?
Are there any changes that have to be done in my new namespace( assuming i will be able to do the import in the first place).
Ne pointers as to how to do it are welcome

Hi,
When you export 'a message mapping object'/repository objects (all objects in repository is called repository objects), it is stored under
<install_path>/xi/repository_server/export
To import this object, you must manually copy this into
<install_path>/xi/repository_server/import
and then choose the Tools -> Import Design Objects..." menu option to import the repository objects (only the files from the import directory can be selected).
If the import is sucessful, the import object will be moved to /importedFiles folder.
While importing, i don't think you can change the namespace of the object. After importing also it will have the same namespace as before importing.

Finalize() method being called multiple times for same object?

I got a dilly of a pickle here.
Looks like according to the Tomcat output log file that the finalize method of class User is being called MANY more times than is being constructed.
Here is the User class:

Every time a User object is created, a static counter variable is incremented and then when an object is destroyed it appends the current value of that static member to the Tomcat log file (via System.out.println being executed on server side).

It really does seem to me like finalize is being called multiple times for the same object.
That number should incremement for every instantiated User, and finalize can only be called once for each User object.
I thought this was impossible?

I am already thinking of ideas to limit the number of threads.
Unfortunately there are two threads of execution in the servlet handler, one handles requests and the other parses the collection of User objects to check for out of date timestamps, and then eliminates them if they are out of date.
The collection parsing thread is currently a javax.swing.Timer thread (Bad design I know...) so I believe that I can routinely check for timestamps in another way and fix that problem.
Just found out too that Tomcat was throwing me a ConcurrentModificationException as well, which may help explain the slew of mysterious behavior from my servlet!
The Timer thread has to go. I got to think of a better way to routinely weed out User objects from the collection.
Or perhaps, maybe I can attempt to make it thread safe???
Eg. make my User collection volatile?
Any opinions on the best approach are well appreciated.

User exit/BADI for tracing change of User Status in IW22

Hello,
I am looking for a user exit or BADI that triggers whenever ther's a change made to User status field.
eg. changing user status to APTC(Approved to be executed)
I then need the exit/badi to trigger my workflow to send mails to list of reviewers. I can handle that but I am not able to find the suitable exit.
I have seen BADI IQS0_STATUS_MAINTAIN, but no use.

Finding changes in an object

Hi Gurus,
Please let me know how to find out what exact changes has been done on a object in the system. For example, if changes are done in a infopackage or a transformation, how do we know what are the exact changes that are made. Please let me know.

I do not think there is any method to find out what exactly changes has did in infopackage or any object...you can find out what date you have changes object, no of transport request etc...If you want to find out changes then before transport you can compare the objects with next system means you have made changes in development system and you want to findout what changes then comare same object with quality..

Yes, it is possible to change the development class for forms..
Use SE03, transport organiser tools
goto node OBJECT DIRECTORY ENTRY
select node "Change object directory entries"
Execute
goto the next text box after data element, type FORM, give your SAPSCRIPT form name and tick the check box execute... now rightclick on your form and chenge development class..
Now coming to your second question is is not possible to delete a FORM that it is already transported to QA and Production, only way to do this is by doing client copy.. basis will do it for you..

You can certainly add code to your view objects to do whatever you like.
However, it would be considered a very bad practice to call something in the backing bean from your view object. It violates the whole MVC design principle of ADF.
Perhaps if you can share your real use case, someone will give you ideas about the best way to do it, but I, for one, would advise you to forget about calling a backing bean function from your view object.

Changing the development class for 0CALMONTH

Hi we upgraded from BW3.5 to 7.0 and we are getting the same error from the thread : Unable to change development class because field is greyed out

I am changing the development class for 0CALMONTH and for some reason I am not able to change the $TMP to ZBW because it is greyed out. I also noticed the Orginal system field is SAP and not our BWD name and the Orginal language is DE and not EN.
How would I change the development class for this IO? I am perplexed how this got to this status. When I collected the 0CALMONTH afterwards and listed the IOs belong to 0CALMONTH, I was able to change the development class. Why is this being greyed out?

Calling BSP Application from Business Object?

Hi,
Can any one tried to call BSP Application from Business Object for showing in the Portal.
I have the following Scenario:
1. BSP Page: User will input the Date and Submit to store in the Database. and in this page the Workflow will be truggered and a Work item will be sent to the Next Level User.
2. When he executes the Work Item it has to trigger the BSP Application and has to show in the Enterprise Portal.
All this has to happen in the Enterprise Portal.
If any one knows how to triggere from business object, please let me know.

I checked the mentioned class in R/3 4.7, This class is not available. I hope this is only in CRM because of PC-UI.
Any Suggesions how can i achieve this execution of BSP.
In one of the document i saw the Business Object BUS1006 as an example but i could not locate the way to reutilize the similar way.

Global list of all custom/developed objects

Hi all!
We need to get a list of all custom objects of a SAP systems.
First time we think accessing TADIR to get all repository objects of the system and after this access, get all atributes for any of the retrieved objects.
Example:
To a report, access TADIR and TRDIR dictionary tables. in TADIR use class of development custom or in TRDIR any of the user that don't belongs to SAP.
But this solution to the problem is very effort and we should access so too many tables for the objects to get their attributes.
Second time, we think filtering the objects using their namespace with FM TR_CHECK_NAME_CLASS, but this option jumps some objects, like VOFM generated objects or customer exits form VA01 transaction.
Do any of you know the way of extracting a list of all Custom/developed objects for a System?

BADI: BBP_WFL_EMPL_WI_BADI - Read change document

Hi,
I am implementing BADI BBP_WFL_EMPL_WI_BADI to be able to decide when the SC should return to requester or not. For some changes like increased value we want to send WI to requster and for some changes like decreased value we do not want to send SC to requester. To be able to decide this we need to read the change documents. I have tried to use FM BBP_CHANGE_DOC_GENERAL, but at the time the BADI is called the change doucment are not avaliable. Do anyone know if there is a FM (or other way) avaliable to read the change doc from memory instead?

BPM- Change Standard Monitoring Object

Hi,
I have few queries in BPM:
1). How to change a standard Montior?
     For example, if I want to change Monitoring Object Sales Document (KPSD0001) and add New Keyfigure or add a new
     selection parameter (eg. Plant) for a keyfigure. How do I do this??
2) In which database table/Transaction can I see all the Standard Monitoring Objects available.
3) How can I copy a standard Monitoring Object into a Z Monitor and make the required Changes.

1)As Ragu mentioned, it is not possible to change standard monitoring
object. Code is already fixed to the selection parameter.
2)It is stored in special way in satellite system. (Cluster table).
So it is not easy to check it like via SE16.
You can get list of available monitoring object and key figure from
the list that is available in service market place.
(You need authorization to access service market place).
