Balance Sheet and Income Statement for Plan data

Hi Everyone,
in our Company  we maintain Plan in COPA for next year that is for 2009 , we have finished all the Planing activities and now (users asked me), they want to have Balance Sheet and Income Statement for the data we have in Plan version , I am not sure what they are Talking about, please help me ,
where can I set up that requirement ?  and what is actually Balance Sheet and Income Statement for Plan data?

  • Balance Sheet and Income Statement

    Hi Guys,
    Assets and Expense (AST and EXP) are stored as +ive in the system
    Liabilities and Income (LEQ and INC) are stored as -ive in the BI system.
    But I see all positive values in the Input schedule. Sometimes in Reports I see -ive values.
    Is it like that in database it stores as +ive and -ive ?, but in reports/input schedule it always shows +ive figures.
    If this is true, than why some times in reports it shows -ive values.
    This is confusing me.
    Any clarifications...

    The sign convention is used by BPC for some basic calculations. Let me explain it with an example.
    Lets say, you enter
    Income   300
    Cost     100
    So, ideally, the profit should be 200
    However, the profit is maintained as the parent of Income and Cost, which means that the profit will be calculated as 300 + 100 = 400, which is wrong. So, we maintain ACCTYPE. Income would INC, this means that while storing it in database, it will be multiplied with -1. It will be again multiplied by -1 while retrieving the data from database. So, the above values in the database would be
    Income   -300
    Cost     100
    Now, the profit would -300 + 100 = -200.
    We will typically maintain Profit as INC. This means the value will be multiplied by -1 while retrieving from the database. So, the profit will look like 200 in the report, which is the correct figure.

  • Regarding month to date balance sheet or income statement

    Hi all,
         We are using T-Code S_PL0_86000028 for viewing balance sheet and income statements. In the selection variants for the period, if we select same value for the from period and to period it should actually show month to date statement. But we are not able to view month to date statement. We are getting only year to date statement. 
          And there is also profit center variant on this screen which if selected gives statement by profit center.
    But we are not able to view by profit center. If we give some profit center no data is being pulled up. But if we leave it blank it is giving the total statement.
         Is there any where in configuration that we should change to get this issues resolved.
    Can anyone help me out with this. Let me know if I am not clear with anything.

    Hi,
    Go to FGi1 code this for creating new report.Give copy from report name as 0SAPBSPL-01.Press create button.
    Here you check profit center field, if it is deactivated then activate that one.Check whether profit center field is used in your form.If it is used then you will not get it for selection e.g. if in my form I had restricted one column for one specific profit center then system won't allow me to give profit center from selection screen.
    Your second problem is known as YTD (year till date) FTM (for the month) selection problem.
    For this you define additional column in your form for YTD in that define field from period as 1 & to period as variable set for to period (means input you provide while executingthe report).
    This will give YTD figure.

    That virtual cube gets data using some function modules like RS_BCT_FIGL_DATA_GET, RS_BCT_FIGL_GLACCEXT_TRANSFORM to populate values based on Financial statement Item 0GLACCEXT.

    My client having 3years of old data(Legacy data) other then current year data which is coming from R3.
    Now he wants to see all data in the query level.
    Please suggest how to proceed to meet clients requirement.

    No seperate screen available for BA set up.
    Follow the IMG, enterprsie structure, define and assign set ups.
    Assign to SO / Plant /
    Create cost elements and assign cost centers for each business areas.
    Create clearing accounts for readjustments in BS and PL, and execute BA pl and bs adjustment programs for taxes, GRIR and some accounts, where BA is not populated.
    Now you would get seperate BS for each BA

    Go to this menu path for report painter
    Accounting - Financial Accounting -Special Purpose Ledger - Tools - Report Painter - Report Writer - Report Group - Display
    T code GR53, GR55
    Enter the report group you want for b/s and p/l statement and choose execute and give the report group again and choose execute.
    After that give the year, period from to, company code, fiscal year, ledger and plan version 01 and choose execute
    Choose in front of the item Production Variances. The system displays the account to which the line items were posted. Material consumption is posted to account OEM Products Consumed.
    To call up detailed data, double-click on account
    In the dialog box, choose Actual Line Items for Table GLFUNCT, and then choose
    To display the original document, simply double-click on it to call up the detailed data. In this case, the original document is a Materials Management document.
    You document is listed under the FI-SL document number that you noted in the step Display Goods Issue Document. Select the Doc. info tab and simulate .
    Select one of the items relevant for material consumption by double-clicking it. This should be item 002, 004, or 006.
    Choose enter go back and cost of sales appear now switch to your first session.

    Hi all
    I need some help with the Balance sheet and Profit and Loss statement, I created new fields on both repors to hide the "ZAR" and round the amount fields to 2 decimal places.
    But when ever I print preview the report I get this error :-
    23/03/2010  10:47:19: Printing Error:This operation is not supported for this data type (RPT -6716) (Field: F_104) Method: Amount DataType: Variant  [Message 200-38]

    From a SAP BI perspective, is it a right way to differenciate between Balance Sheet and P&L Reports based on Account Type ( IS- for P&L Reporting and BS- for balance sheet reporting).

    If your General Ledger accounts, for the Chart of Accounts in use in your R3/ECC source environment, have the account type populated for each account as BS for Balance Sheet accounts and IS for Income Statement (P&L) accounts, then that should work for separating accounts for Balance Sheet and P&L reporting.
    However, if this doesn't always hold true, another way you can do this is by using the XBILK (Indicator: Account is a balance sheet account?) field on SKA1 where X denotes a Balance Sheet account and blank denotes an Income Statement account.
    Either way, you should validate with your FI Functional Consultant or FI business person to determine that your thought or the alternative I provided is correct. I say this because there may be reconciliation accounts that will are identified as Income Statement accounts, but the business doesn't want them to be reported (and in most cases they aren't reported - at least in my experiences).

  • Discrepancy between Balance sheet and Aging report

    HI Experts,
    I have a client who run the AR Aging and Balance sheet monthly for as their month end procedures.
    They have found the following:
    When the Balance Sheet and Aging report is run on the same day this shows the same on the Accounts Receivable and the Aging report.
    When the Aging is run a few days after the month end, and the Aging Date is selected as 05/01/2010, the Posting Date untill is also 05/01/2010, the Balance Sheet To date is 05/01/2010 I get discrepancies between the 2 amounts.
    I looked for documents with later Posting/Document dates but could not find any in the aging report.
    Any help would be welcome.

    One company I worked for I took their Financial Version that they used for FI Financial reports and duplicated it in a Report Painter report using the GLPCT table.  This worked very well and served the prupose of generating P&L and Balance Sheet reports by Profit Center. 
    As a checks and balance procedure I compared the Report Painter results at the highest level within the Profit Center Standard Hierarchy with the FI reports. If you are truly using Profit Center reporting for Balance Sheet reporting then the two reports should be equal to  one another.
