    Dear Gurus,
Is it required to run the Balance Sheet Items Transferred Periodically (PCA) as a period end activity in controlling even if New GL activated?
    thanks in advance.
    thanks & regards,
    GJ.

Thank you for your valuable reply...
Our system is activate New GL and ticked real time integration also. but Profit Center is not maintained as manditory filed in the Document splitting config.
I have some basic clarification on Profit center accounting...
    1. How do we reconsil the FI GL postings with PC report?
    2. All posted values will flow to PC level like vendor /asset/purchse/Inventory postings? example for posting vendor invoice, system is showing the profit center which we maintained Default profit center (Assign Default Profit Center to Accounts).

    Hi
    Try with T code 3KEI.
Here Derivation Rules for Finding the Profit Center
Here you can define derivation rules that the system should use to find a default profit center for the additional balance sheet/profit and loss accounts.

  • PROFIT CENTER ACCOUNTING-BALANCE SHEET ITEMS TRANSFER

    Dear all.
SAP describe as forllows about set up the opening balance for materials:
In this activity, you set up the opening balance for materials.
The system determines the material stock balance from Materials Management and posts it to Profit Center Accounting.
After setting up the opening balance, it is advisable to post the changes in the material stock balance online to Profit Center Accounting, as this simplifies reconciliation with Financial Accounting.
However, you can also transfer the material stock balance to Profit Center Accounting periodically.
I want to know how can i  transfer the material stock balance to Profit Center Accounting periodically?
    Thanks!

    Dear Chen
You can utilise the reports to transfer the balance sheet items periodically. pl  try this report to transfer the materials periodically S_ALR_87013348.
I hope it will suffice to resolve your querry.

  • Balance sheet item in Profit center accouting

    Dear All,
We are deriving segmental reporting through profit centers. I have created the profit and loss accounts as cost elements. Should I have to create the balance sheet items also as cost elements. In that case what should be the category for balance sheet items such as investment, asset, creditors, debtors and all other balance sheet items.
    Regards
    Vasantha

    Hi Vasantha
The idea of profit center accounting is to have balance sheets, profability within the company for products, regions etc. You can derive balance sheet for these other than the legal balance sheet.
Now coming to your point, as others rightly said when you create cost elements for p&l gl accounts, the costs flows to the profit centers from the cost centers.
Then the GL accounts, you dont need to create cost elements. The profit centers are derived from the offsetting expense gl account. The profit center are derived from various assignments.
Profit centers in the Material master - Vendors & Customers get the profit center from the profit center assigned in the MM Master of the material when you buy or sell.
Profit center for asset - Cost center is assigned in the asset master from which it derived the profit center. When you buy asset, depreciation etc., flows to profit center accounting.
Most of the transactions profit centers are derived from the profit center assigned in the cost center for all balance sheet accounts.
Now coming to the New GL or Old GL, profit center are transferred to the balance sheets accounts esperically for Debtors & Creditors at the period end in Old GL by running TCode 2KEK, now with the New GL Document Splitting, the profit center is assigned immediately in the transaction itself.
I hope it is clear how profit center accounting works.

  • GL carryforward for Balance Sheet items

    Hi,
I have run the GL account carry forward using f.16. However i get a different figure in the 'Balance Carryforward' when i run the report S_ALR_87012277 (G/L account balance).
This was fine when i used to run it for the earlier periods (last year)
    Please advise.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Safi

    Hi
In F.16 the balances of last year is carried forwarded. Whereas in S_ALR_87012277 the balances as well as the current years transaction figures are included. The last time you did there must not be any trasaction data.

  • Balance Sheet Items- Input Schedule

    Hi Guys,
I have a input schedule which have Assets Items.
I enter some figure in it and send the data. It says data sent successfully.
but I dont see any data in the schedule. Though I can see the data from BI side, but data is not visible in the input schedule.
In case of P&L Accounts related input schedule, everything is fine.
    Any idea guys..

    Hi,
My Input Schedule looks like as shown below. (Just to check how System  behaves differently in case of P&L and BS accounts)
                                                 Jan .2012        Feb 2012
    Ast Account (base level member)
    Liability Account (base level member)
    Income Account (base level member)
    Expense Account (base level member)
I enter some figure lets say 100 in Jan 2012 (for all 4 accounts) and 200 in Feb.2012 (for all 4 accounts)
When I send the data ..system shows that 8 records submitted successfully. but after refresh I see only P&L related figures and in BS account..nothing..
One more thing...I can see all the data from BI side..it means that all the data is going to the database, but I dont know why I am not able to BS figures in input schedule.

  • FC Valuation at Year End- Balance sheet items

    ECC-6.00 (FI-CO)
We are maintaing the FC exchange rate on monthly basis. We follow a calender year for our group reporting. Is there a way to carry forward all the open items as at 31st December 2007 to new year at the closing rate of December.

Valuation area is already defined. As I understand, diffrence_FC_VAL will just post the entry for exchange diffrence. What I'm asking is carry forward the open items to new year with the closing rate instead of rate prevailing at the time of accounting that particular transaction.
    Any way thanks for replying.

  • When is 'Clearing Balance Sheet' and 'Clearing Inc Stmt item' used?

    Hi,
In what circumstances, clearing balance sheet item and clearing inc stmt items are used. Commonly, it's used for balance carry forward task, where system recognized the net profit for the year (in PL) and current ytd profit (in BS).
i was trying to post the following entry via manual posting and system generated additional 2 lines:
    DR Sales 100
    CR AR 100
DR Clearing BS item 100 < System auto generated additional one line
CR Clearing PL item 100 < System auto generated additional one line
(The above entry is enter at posting level 01)
I was trying to post another  2 balance sheet items via manual posting at posting level 30. There was no additional 2 lines created.
    Please advise.
    Regards, Renee

    Rene,
In real life there are usually closing periods in enterprises, when accountant close their books. Closing partially means that all revenues/gains and expenses/costs are summed up, and net profit in income statement calculated. During this procedure accountants usually make closing entries. After that this calculated net profit is to be transferred to balance sheet, to the retained earnings of the current year item.
In SAP SEM-BCS there are no closing entries. Instead, the system monitors whether entries in P&L were made. The P&L hierarchy in BCS has the following structure:
    - one main node under which all revenues and expenses are gathered
    - clearing item located OUTSIDE the P&L main node (equals to net profit).
The amount on the clearing item equals the sum of all P&L items under main node, with the opposite sign. So, the sum of P&L items & clearing item is zero.
If the system detects postings to the items located under P&L main node, it recalculates the net profit and adjust the clearing item in P&L accordingly. Since net profit in P&L should correspond to the RE in B/S, the system adjust clearing item in B/S also. So, AT ANY MOMENT the B/S & P&L in the system correspond each other. The work of special/clearing items is like pseudoclosing.
That's the purpose of these clearing items. And as I said earlier  they has nothing to do with balance carryforward.
Resume: in case of postings to P&L, the net profit changes and the system adjusts net profit in P&L & B/S (adds two additional entries).
There is NO NET PROFIT CHANGE (and additional entries) when postings made in the balance sheet ONLY (as in your case). -- (As you know, there is almost no possibility to make postings to clearing item in B/S).

  • Switch off the automatic update of profit centers on the Balance Sheet acco

    Dear all,
In CO I am using only CCA and PCA. But I don't want to have the profit center updated on the balance sheet items.
For example I have it activated for all the automatical BS postings from MM
I need it only for the PL accounts.
How can I switch off the automatic updates of profit centers on the Balance Sheet Account?
Is it enough to deactivate the PCA on the Controlling Area?
    Thanks in advance.
