BAM HA (clustering) Question - Where to run the IIS services?

Referring to the BAM HA guide I have a set up similar to what is recommended for a "medium" sized installation:
Cluster 1 with two nodes running ADC, Event Service, Enterprise Link, IIS
Cluster 2 with two nodes running the Report Service, IIS
The question is which cluster should be the target for users and which should be the target for BPEL sensor actions?
Right now I have individual users pointed to cluster 2 and the BPEL processes pointed to cluster 1. I originally did it this way because the ADC is on cluster 1 and I thought that performance might be better from the BPEL web service call (for sensor actions) perspective, since that is where my primary load is coming from. Doing this seems requires IIS running on all nodes, which to me seems incorrect. If I point everything users, report users, and BPEL sensor actions to cluster 2 is that more correct (i.e. better balancing of load) ?
Thanks!

Thanks for the hint with /var/run/daemons
On the other hand this solves my problem only partially, because using the /etc/rc.d/Serv start method I cannot see the proper order in which the services were started and at what point they failed.
I was expecting to have something like http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?quer … ormat=html
In freebsd the dmesg prints the system buffer, not only the kernel buffer.

If you are getting this error, then you are most likely compiling your code with a different JVM than what is shipped with the application server. Oracle9iAS Release 2 (9.0.2) uses the JDK1.3.1. I got this error when I compiled the code with JDK1.4.0_01.

  • Email Enabled lists - where to run the SMTP server? On APP server or on Exchange Server? Or somewhere else?

    Hi there,
I need to setup EMail Enabled lists in SharePoint 2010 site. Where do I need to run the SMTP server? On APP server or on Exchange Server? Or somewhere else?
    Thank you so much.

The SMTP service cannot run on the Exchange server. You can run it on a SharePoint server, or a stand alone server and share out the drop directory over SMB.

  • SCOM 2012 R2 UR4 upgrade question - where exactly is the UNIX/Linux agent?

I am practicing the UR4 on a test |SCOM environment (my first upgrade) and our UNIX Admins have requested the "UNIX/Linux agent" so they can create packages to upgrade the UNIX/Linux agents when the time comes.
I have downloaded all the UR4 updates/software. Where exactly is the agent for UNIX/Linux machines?
I opened the "Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 - Operations Manager Agent (KB2992020)" folder and I saw the following agents:
    amd64-agent.msp
    i386-agent.msp
Are one of these the UNIX/Linux agents?
I know I'm overlooking something here since this is my first time. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    After deploy UR4: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2992020
Installation instructions for Operations Manager - UNIX and Linux Monitoring (Management Pack Update)
To install the updated monitoring packs and agents for UNIX and Linux operating systems, follow these steps:
Apply Update Rollup 4 to your System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager environment.
    Download the
    updated management packs
          (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9f947878-6bf6-48a1-adb1-3cc4c2e5d4af)
    for System Center 2012 R2.
Install the management pack update package to extract the management pack files.
Import the updated management pack for each version of Linux or UNIX that you are monitoring in your environment.
Upgrade each agent to the latest version by using either the Update-SCXAgent Windows PowerShell cmdlet or the UNIX/Linux Agent Upgrade Wizard in the Administration pane of the Operations Console.

  • Using log4j in EJB: where to configure the logging service?

    Hi there,
I have a question on how to use log4j in EJBs. Details:
I want to provide a static final Logger instance in each bean class. This logger will be used by my bean instance to log some interesting messages. The log4j service should be initialized (by calling BasicConfigurator.configure() for example) only once before any message is logged. So where should i place the initialization code?
I know that for a web app, i can define a ServletContextListener implementation to do the initialization work when my web app is loaded. Is there anything similar for EJB?
    Thanks in advance.
    heavyz

    Hi xHacher,
do you mean something like this?
    public class LogFactory {
        static {
            BasicConfigurator.configure();
        public static Logger getLogger(Class clazz) {
            return Logger.getLogger(clazz);
}And in each of my bean class, i may get the logger by using:
private static final Logger log = LogFactory.getLogger(MyBean.class);The code above ensures that log4j is well initialized before any logger instance is created. But any better solutions?

  • App pool is getting stopped automatically while running the web service created by publishing Orchestration

    Hi All,
I have created a Biztalk application and published that as Web service. I created a App pool and assigned that as an Identity for the newly created virtual directory.
For the App pool I have set up the identity with a specific user id and add that user id under the Group IIS_USERS.
When I am browsing the web service I am getting Service Unavailable(HTTP Error 503) and App pool is getting stopped automatically.
I checked in the event viewer getting the following error:
Application pool WSOrchPool has been disabled. Windows Process Activation Service (WAS) did not create a worker process to serve the application pool because the application pool identity is invalid.
I am sure that user id and password is correct. the same user-id is added in all the Biztalk server groups.
Please let me know what can be the issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Joy

    Hi Joy,
You need to ensure that the application pool identity is set to a valid account for the application pool to function.
Step by step explanation can be found at
Event ID 5057 — IIS Application Pool Availability

All my reports and the Data objects were missing . I couldn't find anything in the Architect and the Viewer. All the users that were created were found missing in the 'login management' of the BAM administrator. I check out my BAM Schema,as you all know the default schema "Orabam". I could find all my dataobjects in the tables section.
Can any one of you throw more light on it as to how would I get back my Data objects and reports??

  • My sent emails do not save in the sent folder. After mozilla runs the indexing service the emails disappear from the sent folder. I've checked the account settings and its correct. What do I need to do?

My sent emails are not being saved in the sent folder. When Mozilla indexes the sent folder, it simply deletes them from the folder.

Mozilla '''''Firefox''''' doesn't do email - and this is the Firefox support forum.

    Zeev

    Hi Stephan,
I wanted to add onto Zeev's precise answer.
First of all we appreciate your feedback, we will look into why the above mentioned links are not updated as expected.
Regretfully our SDN page is a bit outdated and we are in the midst of updating it.
Currently, AccAD 2.2 SP4 as available for download and has already been adopted by some of the main SAP customers and in addition by new customers.
The release notes indicating the differences can be found as part of the installations but I hope to provide the 2.2 SP4 notes later this week - in a formal SDN announcement.
Further more as for additional updates:
    - AccAD 2.3 is currently undergoing validation phase and is expected to enter Ramp Up phase in October of 2011.
    - AccAD 2.3 as with every version brings with it new capabilities and increased performance and quality as well as a more up-to-date PAM.
    - We are currently in the planning phase of the next AccAD version to begin development very soon and would be very happy to hear the feedback that you or any other of our customer base may have.  To do so, I encourage you to contact me directly - as i cannot post an email address here - my details can be found in my business card found in this forum.
    - We will be attending and presenting at SAP TechEd Las Vegas and TechEd Sapphire Madrid - we would be happy to meet up in case you will be present.
    All the Best,
    Smadar

  • Error in running the ADF application

    Hi..
When i tried to run the application in Jdev i got an error message
    ] oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29112: The time zone 'GMT+05:30' defined in adf-config.xml or
TimeZone.getDefault().getID() does not exist in your Oracle database table V$TIMEZONE_NAMES.
Please set an available time zone in your TZ environment variable or user.timezone Java system property
So i went to project properties and follwed the step,
    1. Go Tools > Project Properties then
    2. (Project Properties) open select Run/Debug/Profile > in right you will see Default > Double click here or click Edit
    3. (Edit run configuration) select Launch Settings > in 'Java option' text item past this line ... -Duser.timezone="+05:30"
    4.close and re-open JDeveloper
    5. Run entire project
After that when i tried to run the project in jdev i am getting an error,
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Duser/timezone=+05:30
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Duser.timezone=+05:30

What may be the problem ?
Please help me to resolve this.

Anyway the problem of timezone error is resolved...
Thank you very much for the help..

  • Where are all the plug-ins?

    Hi
There seem to be quite a few very experienced InDesign SDK programmers that hang around the forum.  Which leads me to my question, where are all the plug-ins you guys have been creating. Looking around, there only seems to be about 50 commercially available plug-ins, so where are the rest of them. Do companies hire programmers for in-house plug-ins is that not overkill.
Besides all this, I understand that nobody (including myself) would want to give away secrets about what type of project they are involved in currently, but maybe some of the guys here could tell us who they worked for in the past, how long involved with InDesign SDK, and what type of plug-in they've created.
I realize in this forum, its basically professionals and not just hobbyists, making it harder sometimes to get replies, but maybe some of you will share a little something in this faceless screen-named  avatar world.

    P.S. self-employed creator of idrtl plugin @ http://idrtl.scriptui.com

    Hi Steven
Many plug-ins are distributed as a part of bigger systems, i.e. CMS.  Maybe thats why you've heard only about 50 commercial plugins.

  • In URM, the RMA_NOTIFY_AUTHORS service is using my name in the "from"

IN URM, when the RMA_NOTIFY_AUTHOR service is activated from a disposition, all emails are listed "from" me.
I have no idea why that is or how to correct it. I opened a request with Oracle support with no success as of yet. The best they could offer was to tell me to check what email address I had for the sysadmin in my config.cfg file. that email address is totally different than mine and correlates to the system administrator. All other emails that come from the URM instance reflect the sysadmin as the "from". but for some reason any emails sent via the RMA_NOTIFY_AUTHOR service has me as the from, no matter what user causes the disposition to activate.
If anyone out there can tell me where URM decides what email address to use for all of its AUTHOR NOTIFICATION emails, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks

This happens when you run the batch services yourself. If the batch services run by theirselves, at the scheduled time, the email address that is attached to the sysadmin is used in the from, otherwise, whoever runs the batch service manually has their name in the from for the notifications generated from the batch service.
