Bank number field compulsory in FI01

Hi
While defining bank masters in FI01, i want to make Bank Number field compulsory. Let me know how to do it ?
Edited by: Meenu_ND on Jun 21, 2010 3:51 PM

Hi,
As bank name field is mandatory in bank key transaction which is not flowed through any field status which we can set. it is in build in the program..so if you want to make any field mandatory then you may have to add routines...ask your ABAPer
It will be a change in standard program which is not recommended.

Set '3' as the default value for the MySQL field, and don't
    do anything
    with it on the insert

  • SIgnificance of Bank Number(BNKLZ) field in Master data

    Hi,
I am working on Bank Master data setup in ECC6 and have a question regarding the significance of Bank Number(BNKLZ) field.
In IMG settings -> General Settings->Set Countries->Set country specific checks, if Bank Key = 1 i,e Bank Number then in T-code FI01 for Bank Master, the Bank Number field is display only and is automatically copied from Bank Key value.
However if Bank Key = 4 in config, the Bank Number field becomes open for input in FI01.
My question is, what is the significance of Bank Number visa viz Bank Key, in Master data - Bank, Vendor (payment transactions) and Customer etc.
If in the second option ie, Bank Key = 4, I leave the Bank Number blank while creating Bank Master data, will it affect any other processes related to Payment Process etc?
SAP allows me to leave all of the control data Blank while creating the Bank Key. Will this not create problems for Vendor or Customer Payment processing etc?
What is the significance of the Control Data section on FI01 while creating a Bank Key?

    Hi,
bank key (BANKL) is an identification of the bank defined by the user, bank number (BNKLZ) is used to dientify the bank in payment order file, so this should be oficial code of the bank.
Example: Each bank in Germany is identified by BLZ - that's the bank number. Deutsche Bank in Berlin has BLZ 10070000.
So, I can use key 1 in country specific checks customizing and have bank key same as bank number, i.e. 10070000. This helps me to enter bank data into master records, because BLZ is always stated next to bank account number on the invoice.
Or I can use key 4, create the bank with bank key DEUT_BERLIN and enter bank number 10070000. My payment order will be correct, but in vendor master date in the bank key column will be DEUT_BERLIN.
My recommendation is to use key 1 and keep bank key same as bank number.

  • Bank Key, Bank Number and SWIFT code

    Hi expert,
I would like to consult your expertise on the following issues: Bank Key, Bank Number and SWIFT code.
In Country Field Check, OY17, If I select the bank key (section key for bank directory) options 4, assigned externally; then in FI01 bank key data creation, my bank number (in control data section) can be freely defined.
If in OY17, my bank key option is 1, bank number.  Then, during FI01 bank data creation, my bank number must be same with bank key.
My question is that:  I would like, in OY17, selection option 4, but I would like to have some clarifications on FI01 bank creation as well as electronic bank statement ( section of: Assign bank account accounts to transactions types):  In the section of Assign bank account accounts to transactions types, I need to fill in bank key+bank account and transaction type.
My Questions: during MT940, electronic bank statement (EBS), since I set bank key + bank account, what control data (in FI01 screen) that SAP will use for automatic EBS?  Bank number or SWIFT code?
Besides that, I am not quite understand statement by SAPPress book, Quick Reference Guide Financial Accounting with SAP - Chapter 7 Banking, as follows:
If you use the SWIFT code as bank key in a specific country, we strongly recommend that you set the bank data flag on the further checks section in OY17.  This ensures that the system automatically performs the formal control on the SWIFT code entered in the SWIFT code field (BNKA-SWIFT), and not on the SWIFT code entered in bank key.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
House bank is the bank through which your company is dealing all their financial transaction.
Bank key is a country unique number in the US it is called the ABA routing number.
The account ID is a user definable field that allows you to "name" your bank accounts at your bank using any convention you prefer.
Bank master data means all the data related to a particular BANK .examole HDFC all the information related this particular bank.
House bank master data  it is related all your bank master data.Example,Hdfc,ICICI,Axis ,BOB  etc.
The S.W.I.F.T. code is used for identifying banks in international  payment transactions.Uniquely identifies a bank throughout the world.
Bank number is a code given to a particular Bank.

  • About Bank Key & Bank Number

    howdy colleagues,
Our banks are set up whereby Bank Key (banka-bankl) = Bank Number (banka-bnklz). In the country where I am working, the Central Bank is now requiring the bulk payments to be processed by bank group (previously by bank branch) e.g. one or more bank branches equal one group. As a workaround, I am considering the use of Bank Number field as the bank group. What I am figuring and confirming out right now is whether this field has a special usage that might affect the current payment program processes.
We generate bank transfer schedules and summaries developed via SAPscript. No IDOCs, EDI and special types of payments, just the basic bank/wire transfers.
I will appreciate any advice and comments.
    Thanks,
    Ron Almonte

    Hi
You would typically create one "House Bank" per Bank's routing number. So, if your company (read Company code) does business with a bank and have 5 account numbers with them, but they all have the same routing numbers, then just create one House Bank for that Company Code.
Next, you can create multiple Account IDs within that one House Bank. Typically, you would create an Acct ID for every account number issued by the bank.
You may also create multiple Account IDs for the same account number. Just use the bank issued account number over and over. You would do this if you want to attach each Account ID with a different G/L account. For example, your operational account receives cash deposits from customers and you issue payments to suppliers from the same account. Yet, you want to separate deposits and payments. Then, create two Account IDs say RECPT and PYMNT and set them up with the same Hopuse Bank and Bank account but different G/L account.

  • Bank account number field in Infotype 0009

    Deal All,
My client's requirement is that in IT0009 the length of Bank account number (BANKN) needs to be increased for a particular affiliate. Currently the length is 18 Character and my client wants to increase it to character 20 for a particular affiliate.
Can anyone please let me know is it possible to do it. If it is not possible then what can be the other alternatives to met the requirement and the impacts of the alternatives.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sandip Biswas.

    Dear Sandip,
Please refer to SAP Note 193078 - Employee/applicant bank details in Russia.
Maybe it is nor specific for your case but SAP recommends to maintain first two digits in Bank key field.
Please make sure whether this solution works for your case.

  • BOM change number field is compulsory

    Hi Guys,
I need to setup BOM (CS02) change number entry field is compulsory (using TCode CS02). How to setup config settings? pls advise
    Thanks,
    Sankaran

    Dear Muthusamy,
Even if you have maintained settings in OS27,In T code CS02 ,the system allows
you to change the BOM without a change number.
The same question was posted by Mr.Anbalagan ,3 days before.
<b>The follwing are the answers which I posted to him, check this under post thread name <b>ECR Number</b></b>
<i>If you want to make Change number field as mandatory for CS02,u have to do it
using the authorisation object. For certain users you can make this as an
mandatory field ,just discuss with Basis & ABAP consultants, they can help out
    you in this regard.
Though you might have done settings perfectly in OS27,OS54,but the system
allows you to change a BOM without any change number.</i>
    <b>Answer2:</b>
    <i>
Plz make this Authorization Object C_STUE_NOH as mandatory for T code CS02.
I'm sure BASIS & ABAP consultant can help you in this regard.
I have checked in my system for certain users, like without change number it doesnt allow to change BOM,
So after giving SU53,I found the authorization obeject C_STUE_NOH was missing.
So go ahead in using this object.</i>
    <b>answer3:</b>
<i>You can make that field in CS02 as a mandatory for certain users, using a field
    exit.
Field name AENNR -Change number can be made as mandatory .
Plz explain the case to ABAP consultant.
First in SE37 he will be checking whether this particular field AENNR has got a field exit.
Later on he will be writing some codes to make this field as mandatory.
This is what i wanted to convey to u.
In my project ,for the core users the field has been made mandatory,so in CS02,he/she cant go inside without giving the change number.
At that time when u give SU53,this authorisation object will be found not given.
So just have a word with the ABAP consultant,he can help u.</i>

  • Vendor master data - Bank Account field len too short

    Dear Expert,
My client trying to create a vendor when she maintains the Bank account number under the bank detail and she encounterred error message "Entry in field Bank Acct. No is longer than 10 characters" where can I extend the field to 11 characters?
    thank you

    Hi,
Maximum length for bank account number is 18.
The error message is because, for the country, standard SAP allows only 10 chars.
    To change this,
    1. Go to t-code OY17
    2. Change the bank account number /bank number length accordingly.

  • Partner bank type field missing in payment proposal list

    Hi Gurus,
The partner bank type field is not being displayed in payment proposal list whereas I can display the same in vendor line item display.  Though there is a field named BnkT in the proposal list the partner bank type is not displayed.  Kindly advice me in this regard.
    Regards.

    Hello,
Please note the system selects the bank with the lowest BVTYP.
This means that a bank which has no BVTYP will be selected first,
then one with AAAA, then BBBB. This is the reason why the partner
bank which you expected was not chosen.
Please read the F1 help for this field which explains the main purpos
    of this field:
    F1 Help:
In the business partner's master record:
If several bank accounts exist in a customer or vendor master
record, you can assign different keys for these accounts.
    In the item:
To use a particular bank of the business partner for the payment
an item, enter the appropriate key in the item. The payment prog
then pays the item via the business partner's predefined bank.
Here you can enter, for example a number, 0001.
Then, when you post a document with the transaction FB01 or F-42, you
can display the field 'Partner bank type' (BSEG-BVTYP). Here you can
write the number 0001 or another number for another bank of the same
vendor. Afterwards, you can post this document.
Also, you can use Business Transaction Event (Open-FI) 00001810 to
implement your own algorithm to select a bank. For details, see the
documentation of the sample function module SAMPLE_PROCESS_00001810.
Also review below notes in the same context about "F110: partner bank
    type".
363219 - F110: Wrong partner bank after proposal run maintnc
390740 - F110: partner bank type not in clearing line of payment doc
Hope this clarifies the system behaviour.

  • House Bank number problem with BSP import

    Hi,
I have a problem when i import an bank statement that i get an error that the house banknumber is not the same as in de import file. I believe the problem is that in de house bank definition in SAP there are dots (.) between the housebank number like 12.56.58.789 and in the import file on row :25 there are no dots between the number 125658789. Does anybody know how to solve this problem ? i tried something with the add-on format definition and find out that the field "AccountInfo" need some changes.
The expression that is used in the bfp file is      (?<=:25:)[^\r\n]*(?=\r\n)
    Can somebody help me?
    THANKS
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
The rule for importing data from a bank statement is that house bank account defined in B1 and the data filled into account number field should match bit by bit. So in your case there are two options:
    1. change the account number definition in B1 to remove all the dots.
    2. if that's impossible, you have to change the BFP file via Format Definition add-on to insert the dots into the pure digit series. that could be done by assigning a mapping method to the account number field.
use concat() function and substring() function together. about the usage of the function ,you can refer to the online help of the tool.
    Cheers,
    Tedy

  • Bank Account field in Vendor Master Data

    Hi Guys,
Anyone of you might have faced this kind of problem.
The field for bank account in vendor bank details provides only 18 digits.
We have a couple of Polish and Russian vendors which have 20 digits in the bank account and because SAP cuts off the first 2 digits payments cannot be made.
Will it be possible to extend the number of digits in the bank account field? If yes,
can anyone let me know how it can me done.
    Thanks
    JR

The situations where REGUH-ZBNKN (bank account number) is longer than 18 digits. in this case the bank account number continues on field REGUH-BKREF (reference).
You have to implement OSS#96624 to solve this problem
    Regards.
(Finding more detail in OSS Note)
    Symptom
This note refers to business partner bank account numbers with more than 18 digits.
Banks of certain countries use bank account numbers with more than 18 digits. Consequently, these bank account numbers cannot be stored completely in the bank account number field of the R/3 System, but are to be used for the payment transactions with the bank in the data medium exchange (DME).
    Solution
Depending on the country of the bank of the business partner, we recommend that you enter that part of the account number which does not fit into the respective 'Bank account number' input field in the 'Reference specifications for bank details' field or in the 'Bank control key' field of the customer or vendor master data.
We recommend that you use the fields in the R/3 System as follows:
China- Various account number formats, some have more than 18 digits
    - Save the first 18 digits in the 'Bank account number' field
    - If the Chinese bank account number is longer than 18 digits, the
remaining digits are saved in the 'Reference specifications for bank
    details' field.

  • Bank account number & Bank number structure for Chile

    Hi,
Does anybody know how the Bank number & Bank account number structure is?
I do need to create a module for banks field (because it is not delivered in standard SAP). Does anybody do it before?
    Thanks a lot

    Dear Rafael,
Please check the following details for the Country Chile, which is as per the TCode 'OY17' :
    Bank number length   15
    Tax Number 1             11
    Length of Bank Key   15
Besides, you also should check the box 'Other Data' which will take care of the internal check.
On the other hand, Conversion of bank details to IBAN is carried out by function module CONVERT_BANK_ACCOUNT_2_IBAN_<2 characters country code>. For example, for CHILE, the function module will be CONVERT_BANK_ACCOUNT_2_IBAN_CH.
For this, two function modules and two Business Transaction Events (BTEs) are to be created for each country:
    1.  Copy the SAMPLE_INTERFACE_00003030 function module from SAMPLE_INTERFACE_00003030 to
CONVERT_BANK_ACCOUNT_2_IBAN_??, in which you must replace the '??' with your country's name.
    2.  Copy the SAMPLE_INTERFACE_00003040 function module from SAMPLE_INTERFACE_00003040 to
CONVERT_IBAN_2_BANK_ACCOUNT_??, in which you must replace the '??' exactly as above.
I hope this information is useful.
    Best regards,
    Suresh Jayanthi.

  • Bank detail field disabled

    hey gurus,
    navigation : (M)People >(M)Enter & Maintain> (B)Assignment>(B)Other> Payment Method
for employee payment method the bank details field is disabled for me. i am using International HRMS .
how can one enable this in here?
    Plz help me!

You should run the post payroll processes like Prepayments and the process defined for making the payment.
If you want to keep your payment method as cheque and still want to capture account information of employees then you can enable the DFF present in the personal payment method screen.
what check box must i check on TAB Costing in the define payment method screenYou may check the Cost Payment and Transfer to GL check boxes, this is what I have done but it may differ depending on the requirements.
i hope the source bank will be the same as for cheque payment type...?when you define an organizational payment method then a payment method is created in Cash Management identified by the account number. So you cannot use the same account number for defining two different Payment Methods.
    Hope this helps
