I am working on a project to connect from an external system to a SAP system using JCO. In some cases it is mandantory to convert external data to sap internal e.g. costcenter. At the BAPI Explorer i´ve found the BAPI "BAPI_CONVERSION_EXT2INT1", has anybody a sample how to use it?

Hi,
I am looking for a BAPI which converts ISO codes of countries, currencies, units-of-measurement and countries to the SAP code. I have come acorss 2 BAPIs which might be used in sequence to get the desired output.The bapis are bapi_conversion_ext2int1 & BAPI_CONVERSION_INT2EXT1
However I am not able to use them as the input for OBJTYPE and OBJNAME
is not correct. I could not find sufficient documentation on the BAPIs.
I need help on any kind of sample test data, use case or detailed documentation which would help me use the BAPIs bapi_conversion_ext2int1 & BAPI_CONVERSION_INT2EXT1 ?

Sampeling a colour from a photo places in Illy CS4

Hoping this is a simple one to figure out. In CS3 I would drop a photo into the document and then using the eyedropper I would just sample colours from the photo. CS4 wont sample full stop - pulling my hair out and grinding to a halt on the whole workflow - anyone had the same problem or can offer a solution.
Not really loving CS4 at all - I work in it about 8 hours a day 6 days a week and after 3 weeks I'm still hoping that after time all these little tweaks will make sense....
Ah well - hoping someone can help with the photo thing :-)

By default, the eyedropper sample the appearance of object, If you want
to sample color from an image with that default you need to use the
shift key when sampling. Or double-click the eyedropper and uncheck
Appearance.

Sampel XPRESS code to call Lockinfo

Does anyone have a piece of sample XPRESS code to check for locks and the user locking the object on a user or configuration object? I've tried this several ways and am just doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hooking Up LCD TV Using mini DP to HDMI adapter ?

I am wondeirng if the Mini DP to HDMI adapters will work for my application as I have searched a few MFG. websites for the details but it seem all will only work fully (audio + video) with a LCD TV with a HDMI chip V1.3 or above. A LCD TV with a HDMI chip below V1.3 will get you only video.
My macbook pro supports audio though the Mini DP I know this for sure.
I cannot find the version of HDMI on my TV it is a Toshiba 42hl196 made in 2006. But I am betting it is older than V1.3.
I was trying to get away with only one cable so the Mini DP to HDMI adapter is the way I am wanting to go.
Can anyone tell me what version HDMI chip is in my Toshiba 42hl196?
Also can anyone recommend a Mini DP to HDMI adapter that would work for my application? Or am I stuck buying two cables like a Mini DP to VGA - connect to TV then run component audio (W/ stereo adapter) out of headset output on Macbook to TV?

if your tv says hdmi audio it has hdmi audio (which it does) get this anyway since you're trying to make this connection and make sure you set your sound to the hdmi audio.

Pop up on clicking a button

Hi All,
Problem : There is a custom screen in a CRM Transaction. In the screen there is a table which displays data.and there are a few buttons which provides a few functionalities like delete records, display attachments etc. The functionality is provided in a CASE statement. The problem now is I need to provide a popup as soon as the user clicks on a button. this popup will display a list from a table.
I am not able give a popup when i click the button. this will be something like when i click a variant button on a report screen it displaying the list of variants and one of the variants being selected. How do i provide this funtionality it ?

How can I use external clock to implement a delay?

Hi all,
I am testing to use external clock to drive dev/PFI0 (on device 6711) which is used as the clock for the analog ouput. I have thinking two applications by using the external clock but I don't have much idea on the implementation yet.
First of all, I have a sequence of data (array) with each sample being sent at the interval of 1us. I use an external clock (10MHz) driving the PFI0 so it is pretty easy to achieve that goal. I am thinking what happen if I want each sampel being sent at different time. For example, if I have 5 samples, I want the first one sent 1us after the task start and wait 2us to send the 2nd sample, wait 5us to send the 3rd sample and wait 11 us to send the 4th sample, and wait 1us to send the last sample. Is it possible to achieve that based on the external clock?
Second question is about the delay. My code require ciritcal timing and the builtin delay doesn't behave very well because I am running in windows. I can increase the priority of the vi to highest, it helps a bit but still not perfect. I am thinking if it is possible to implement hardward delay based on the external clock. Any idea?

To answer your first question, yes you could send data in that fashion. You would have to programmatically build a pulse train and use that to trigger the sending of data. The answer to the second question is essentially the same. You should be able to programmatically build a pulse train with a delay and use it as trigger to begin whatever operation you have.

FILE HANDLING IN SAP
Introduction
Files on application server are sequential files.
Files on presentation server / workstation are local files.
A sequential file is also called a dataset.
Handling of Sequential file
Three steps are involved in sequential file handling
OPEN
PROCESS
CLOSE
Here processing of file can be READING a file or WRITING on to a file.
OPEN FILE
Before data can be processed, a file needs to be opened.
After processing file is closed.
Syntax:
OPEN DATASET <file name> FOR {OUTPUT/INPUT/APPENDING}
IN {TEXT/BINARY} MODE
This statement returns SY_SUBRC as 0 for successful opening of file or 8, if unsuccessful.
OUTPUT: Opens the file for writing. If the dataset already exists, this will place the cursor at the start of the dataset, the old contents get deleted at the end of the program or when the CLOSE DATASET is encountered.
INPUT: Opens a file for READ and places the cursor at the beginning of the file.
FOR APPENDING: Opens the file for writing and places the cursor at the end of file. If the file does not exist, it is generated.
BINARY MODE: The READ or TRANSFER will be character wise. Each time n characters are READ or transferred. The next READ or TRANSFER will start from the next character position and not on the next line.
IN TEXT MODE: The READ or TRANSFER will start at the beginning of a new line each time. If for READ, the destination is shorter than the source, it gets truncated. If destination is longer, then it is padded with spaces.
Defaults: If nothing is mentioned, then defaults are FOR INPUT and in BINARY MODE.
PROCESS FILE:
Processing a file involves READing the file or Writing on to file TRANSFER.
TRANSFER Statement
Syntax:
TRANSFER <field> TO <file name>.
<Field> can also be a field string / work area / DDIC structure.
Each transfer statement writes a statement to the dataset. In binary mode, it writes the length of the field to the dataset. In text mode, it writes one line to the dataset.
If the file is not already open, TRANSFER tries to OPEN file FOR OUTPUT (IN BINARY MODE) or using the last OPEN DATASET statement for this file.
IF FILE HANDLING, TRANSFER IS THE ONLY STATEMENT WHICH DOES NOT RETURN SY-SUBRC
READ Statement
Syntax:
READ DATASET <file name> INTO <field>.
<Field> can also be a field string / work area / DDIC structure.
Each READ will get one record from the dataset. In binary mode it reads the length of the field and in text mode it reads each line.
CLOSE FILE:
The program will close all sequential files, which are open at the end of the program. However, it is a good programming practice to explicitly close all the datasets that were opened.

SY-SUBRC will be set to 0 or 8 depending on whether the CLOSE is successful or not.
DELETE FILE:
A dataset can be deleted.
Syntax:
DELETE DATASET <file name>.

For reading:
Open dataset for input in a particular mode.
Start DO loop.
Read dataset into a field.
If READ is not successful.
Exit the loop.

For writing:
Open dataset for output / Appending in a particular mode.
Populate the field that is to be transferred.
TRANSFER the filed to a dataset.

Sample materials(FG) receive from Vendor

Hi all,
We need you advise on the below requirment?
Scenario: Company receive the sample materials (Finished goods) form the Vendor. After receiving this into the Company the Marketing department send this to our company customers for advertizing. Sofar they are doing this activity in out off SAP.
From now onwords they want enter this goods in SAP suystem.
So now the business busienss is looking for solution ( just kind of report in SAP) which should show the current availble stock when we run this report.
How much qty received from the vendor, How much qty taken out by Marketing dept and currently what is the availble stock( sampels).
Please note : The stock will be counted on number base. not on value base.
Plese adivse how to achieve this ?

To get a report with stock, available stock etc. in some way the information has to be inputted in SAP. How are you planning to do that?
One option is to create documents in SAP and then use these for inbound and outbound movements.
- for receiving these goods from vendor
- for sending sample goods to customers
I am not sure about Procuring part (inbound). For outbound part, please see below:
For the sample sale process:
Use FD document type - This is provided by SAP to deliver free of charge sample goods to customers.
In FD process, there is no billing document. Only sales order > delivery

Help with Subforms and Textfields

Hi All,
Basically, I am trying to template our company's contract form so that user can only edit the designated fields of the form, and all provisions written in the contract form remains untouched.
My problem is (please see sample texts below), and I feel like I am dealing with this for ages despite extensive research, the content of the fillable textfield overwrites the text adjacent to it. In the sampel below, I set the underlined words as dynamic textfields. I don't have problem with 14th since the least texts I can put there is 3, like 1st. My problem is with January, because if I changed that to September, it expands to overwrite the text adjacent to it. The same is true with 2014, CLIENT, and Client Name. I've tried a combination of things like wrapping each elements in subform as positioned or flowed, auto-fit for both the fields and subforms, Keep with Next.
Also, I want to have the fields to adjust their widths automatically so that text are kept close as possible to each other, like how you edit texts in MS Word. I don't want to have several spaced between of May , 2014 in case I typed in May as the month.
I would greatly appreciate any solution.

Mapping of structure appearing in message Dinamically

HI
I have imported a xsd in which there are no sub structures under a given structure.
But I checked the sampel data in that the data is coming as sub structure of the above mentioned structure.
If i have to map data for this dinamic structure then how can I do that

Let me try and give u an example .
there is a structure a which is of type relationships
the xsd def of type telationships is
- <xs:complexType name="Relationships">
- <xs:annotation>
<xs:documentation>Common group of related objects.</xs:documentation>
</xs:annotation>
- <xs:sequence>
<xs:any processContents="skip" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" />
</xs:sequence>
</xs:complexType>
now when the XML data is coming in the a structure is having substructures. these sub structures are defined in the xsd def but not as a part of structure A
I have to map data from these sub structures

How to create multiple component instances at runtime using java

Hi,
I need to create component instances at runtime using java.I found ComponentSet.add method.But I am not finding a way to get handle of ComponentSet.
I see methods with params of IRuntimeNode.But how to get ComponentSet from IRuntimeNode.
If anybody knows or have sampel code then please share with me.

This is a common challenge for those using Configurator Extensions with multiple instantiation for the first time. The problem is that the CIO's representation of the structure for multiply-instantiable Components differs slightly from what both Configurator Developer users and Configurator Runtime users see in those respective applications. Multiply-instantiable Components are not direct children of the Model in which they're defined. Internally, there is an entity that sits between the parent Model and the instantiable Components; that intermediate entity is the ComponentSet object you've found in the CIO documentation.
If the name of your multiply-instantiable Component is "My Component", then its ComponentSet may be accessed simply by calling getChildByName("My Component") on its parent Model; a List of the instantiated Components may be accessed with the ComponentSet's getChildComponentNodes() method, and instances may be added and deleted using its add() and delete() methods.

DIAdem not saving all samples from TDMS file

Hello to all,
I have several large TDMS files (1.8Gb each) containing approx. 120 million sampels. When I try to open these fiels in Diadem it previews the correct amount of samples (120 Million), but when I try to save tha data in Matlab format it saves me only half the samples, 60 Million. Also, I have a Matlab script that opens the TDMS files and does exactly the same thing, it is not saving all samples.
Can you please advise me on this issue? Is there a way to automatically fragment large TDMS files into smaller ones?

It seems your TDMS file is fine since you have the correct number of data in DIAdem.
It may comes from the conversion to the MatLab format. Maybe MatLab can't accept more than 60 millions data. You should ask that to the MatLab expert on their forum.
However, if you want to fragment your TDMS file, you have to do it manually in DIAdem, when you load the file into the Data Portal, or you can automate the function by using VBScript. (Last panel in DIAdem)
An other solution would be to fragment your TDMS file directly where you write it. (In LabVIEW maybe?)
