BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT to update MARA-LAEDA & MARA-AENAM

Hi, I want to update two fields Last changed on(MARA-LAEDA) AND Last changed by (MARA-AENAM) for variant and its generic article.
I am looping the internal table has 20 article , in which calling the function module 'BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT' for each article and populating HEADDATA,CLIENTDATA and CLIENTDATAX for every record.
when it is not retuning any error excuting commit through Function module 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT'.this function module is also giving sy-subrc equal to 0 for all article means commiting it.
Although everything is fine,Each FM is working fine..but record is updating for only first article(data is populating correctly for all records),not for all .Please help.

Your feilds is appear in Field Selection group for 200 in OMS9 T-Code
This type of fields some times will not appear because you have to activate to related topic.
Go to OMS9 and study F1 help, you can get one idea,

Update zfields in MARA table

hi,
In my client system a custom view is maintained for MM* transactions
I have added two custom fields in MARA table as well as this custom view.
Now i have to populate value for this two custom fields.
i am using "/AFS/BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA" to update this two fields. But the fields are not updated and the bapi gives the follwoing message "The material cannot be maintained since no maintainable data transferred"
What are the parameter in which i have to pass values for populating any zfield?
Currently i am just passing HEADER DATA , EXTENSIONIN and EXTENSIONINX.
I think i am missing something.
Please help.

Updating values in mara table through bapi

Hi friends,
I am very new to ABAP , just now i have started my carrier in SAP-ABAP.
I have to update these three fields MSTAE, EXTWG, MTPOS_MARA in MARA table through bapi. I need to give these values from selection screen followed by Material no.
I already found some program in the forum but that programs are very lenthy , i am not able to understand.
Can anyone help me by giving some idea or sample program so that i can learn how to do this thing.

IPS Signature Update Support on MARS?

Hello,
Is it possible to update MARS to understand and process the latest/greatest release version of IPS signatures we have deployed to our production sensors? All I have been able to find so far are the periodic update packages released as software downloads for MARS, the most recent example being the csmars-4.2.6.2458.pkg update. I have to believe I'm missing something something here.

That's what I was afraid of. I have to hope that they address this soon; we've been using VMS for years and have grown used to having signatures understood as soon as they are updated. Interestingly we also run a 3rd party SIM that tends to run about a week behind Cisco's signature release to the time they (3rd party SIM vendor) release their pattern update to support the latest Cisco signatures...

Latest update (around 6 Mar 2015) has increased startup time from about 5 seconds to 55 seconds - why???

This is terrible. Such a delay.
I am not interested in "refreshing" Firefox because I would have to make a list - LONG - of all the changes I made over the years to it, in order to put it back the way it was.

Norton is the one that created this issue for their users, and they need to fix it; although it could be caused by Trusteer Rapport being used with Norton, as mentioned in that Norton support thread. If that turns out to be the case Norton has to work with Trusteer to get it fixed.

Is there any upgrade available for it?
Where can I found info for upgarding the software and IPS Signature on Cisco Web Site?
I also want to integrate CiscoWorks, LMS 2.6 to sent SNMP Trap Notification to the MARS box v4.3.5 (2838) IPS Signature Version 330. Is it possible and what would be the port # on the MARS box?

You are already running the latest software for the Generation 1 MARS appliances. You can find newer updates here:

For IPS, it is better to turn on automatic updates. Just go to:
Admin >> System Setup >> IPS Signature Dynamic Update Settings
The URL is already set there, just put your CCO username/password and click 'Update Now' then hit 'Submit'. I think the current Signature release is 352. You can manually downlaod them from here if you like:

IDoc MATMAS05 does not update MARA-AENAM

Dear colleagues,
I am using IDoc for maintenance of material master records. It's basic type is standard MATMAS05. When I trigger IDoc that needs to change material master record, this material master record is updated correctly, except AENAM field (Name of accounting clark who changed record). In my IDoc structure I have field which defines AENAM. This field is filled with proper information, but after IDoc running ERP MARA-AENAM is filled with logon user defined in RFC Destination settings and not with value from IDoc's AENAM.
Could you help me to solve this issue and have proper data in MARA-AENAM (from IDoc AENAM field)?

the coding is undoubtedly taking the last change date and user from the SY structure:

And this sounds logical to me, as if this would not be the case, then you could change data with an IDOC and let it look as if this change was done by someone else.

Eclipse Mars Install New Features/Update fails with HTTP Code 416

I'm currently trying to update my working Eclipse Luna (for Java and DSL
Developers) to the new Mars version (seperate fresh installation), but I keep getting an error, which I was unable to resolve.
The workstation has to use a corporate proxy and it was always a little bit tricky to get the Eclipse Marketplace and Install New Feature/Update working. My Luna Eclipse is configured (network settings) to use "Manual" as Active Provider, with the correct host + port + user + password combination. I also got the known bugs

I can open the Marketplace and it actually shows all the plugins, I can select one for install and the plugin-dependency-tree is show, but the next step fails with the following message:

I tried googling for this kind of error, but it seems no one has reported this problem so far. I'm a little bit lost what to do now (apart from using Luna again), since exactly the same configuration is working in Luna, but is unusable for me in Mars. The network access seems to work because Mars can load the dependency tree of a Marketplace plugin. Every other combination in the network settings fails because of the corporate proxy.
So, any suggetions how to find the root cause? It's quite possible the corporate proxy is misconfigured, but I hope you can help me finding the difference between the working Luna and the (for me) broken Mars, so I know what has to be configured differently. Something seems to be changed in the way the packages are downloaded.

The network access seems to work because Mars can load the dependency tree of a Marketplace plugin. Every other combination in the network settings fails because of the corporate proxy.
So, any suggetions how to find the root cause? It's quite possible the corporate proxy is misconfigured, but I hope you can help me finding the difference between the working Luna and the (for me) broken Mars, so I know what has to be configured differently. Something seems to be changed in the way the packages are downloaded.

I need to update the following MARA fields for WM View without Warehouse Number.

MARA-WHSTC
I have tried some BAPI'S(BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEREPLICA) FM but no luck. Can anybody suggest me how do i update above MARA Fields ?

MARS: IPS Signature Dynamic Update Failed

Hello all,
I checked the signature update on the MARS system and it has no update for over 6 months. My bad. I should checked this regularly.
So I tested the connectivity and it said successful. Did the update now and failed:

It seems it does see the new signature out there but the down load failed not sure why. I manually down load the signature and SSH to
the box manually did the pnupgrade using ftp and also got error:

Checked the thread in the community and follow the same step that in the threat and I am still geting no where.
Case is opened and still going no where.

It does not support manually downloading the file and perform the update.
Please use either local web server or direct connection to cisco.com site from the MARS as follows to update the IPS signature:

Updating CS-MARS

Is there a faster way of updating the CS-MARS devices than going through one at a time and applying the update pkgs (ex. 4.1.1 ->4.1.2 -> 4.1.3...)? Would there be any disadvantage to just grabbing the lastest recovery cd and rebuilding the entire box? I don't care about having to reconfigure the boxes or losing log information. I just want to know what the fastest way to get a number of CS-MARS servers up-to-date.

The fastest method to update a box is with an ISO image. If you don't mind rebuilding the device configuration then do this by all means. Also, if it is a new box that does not have the latest image then use the ISO and skip the "bunny hops" normally needed to upgrade.
The disadvantage of this method is that you lose all the network discovery that the MARS box might have done or been doing. You are essentially starting over. If you haven't been using the box very long then it is a good idea to wipe it clean and start the discovery process over.

Cs-mars changing the community string on multiple devices

Hello,
We've changed the snmp v2 community strings on all the network devices.
Is it possible in cs-mars to change the community string on multiple devices?
When I select edit in admin>security and monitor devices> and select several devices and click edit the message "please select only one device to edit"
What's the best way to do this, and is this absoluteley nessecary?

Yes, it's possible for some device types. The SNMP community string(s) can be bulk updated using a seed file, but only for the following device types: PIX, PIX 7.x, ASA, IOS, and SWITCH-IOS. Any other device types have to be updated manually. The details are on page 1-46 of the Device Configuration Guide. You will also need the details for using a seed file, from the same document.

If you want to communicate with the devices via SNMP, then yes, you need to update the strings. This is especially the case if you don't use any other communications protocols such as SSH, Telnet, or FTP. Also, without the updated SNMP strings, MARS can't fully discover the Layer 2 topology from the device.
Unfortunately, the SNMP string bulk update is only available for SNMPv1 (or v2 with no encryption) credentials. If you're using SNMPv3, each device has to be edited manually.

How do I use Cisco MARS to monitor two ASA (active/stby) with IPS modules?

The two ASA with IPS modules are in active/standby mode. When I try to add both the two IP (active/standby) into the MARS, the MARS will complain duplicated hostnames.

Hi,
The fundamental problem with this scenario is that you have non-failover capable modules in a failover chassis - think of the ASA failover pair as one device and the IPS modules as two completely separate devices.
Then, as already mentioned, add only the primary ASA. (The secondary will never be passing traffic in standby mode so it's not actually needed in MARS) Then, with the first IPS module you can add it as a module of the ASA or as a standalone device (MARS doesn't care). With the second IPS module the only option is to add it as a separate device anyway.
In a failover scenario the ASA's swap IP's but the IPS's don't so whereas you'll only ever get messages from the active ASA you'll get messages from both IPS IP's depending on which one happens to be in the active ASA at the time.
Don't forget that you have to manually replicate all IPS configuration every time you make a change.
