Bar code is not dispplaying

Hi Experts,
I have one issue in Scripts. I.e is i have two systems p12 and q21.
In p12 bar code is printing but in q21 Bar code is not printing. what i will do for this issue. Rewards are helpful answers.

please check in q21 whether that barcode symbology is defined in here. Go to se73 and check it

Bar code name - not case sensitive

Hi ,
We are using the barcode name cd39_00.The barcode can not be printed if the corresponding text contains lowercase letters.As per SAP note 645158 code 39 is an alphanumeric code which supports only numbers , uppercase letters and certain special characters.but now we need to print lowercase letters also.I found that c128b_00 and EAN8 can support uppercase as well as lowercase letters.could any one give me the other alphanumeric barcode names that supports both ?

Do you use crystal report or standard Print Layout?
if you use Crystal Report, Normally we use font "Code39"
Try this:
Add asterick ( * ) between the text you want to scan.
e.g.
asterickDOCNO123456asterick
asterick is the symbol with no space in between.
and change the whole string font to Code39

Bar Code works fine in one App Svr, but does NOT work in identical server?

We use the FREE3OF9.TTF bar-code to generate bar codes. We tested on this http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/7c901bc198.gif development environment and it works fine.
Problem is, when we install the font and report in the live environment, which is IDENTICAL to the above dev. environment the bar-code does not appear. Only the number appears.
If you change another font in the report and deploy, the report shows the new font in the live env., but only the bar-code font it does not pick up.
I even tried font sub-setting in the app server but even that failed.
In the app server the bar code is displayed if you use it in Wordpad.
Problem is the App Server does not pick up ONLY the bar-code font (all other fonts it picks up)?
What could be the issue?

have you rebooted the Windows server ?
by default , the Reports Server is running as a Windows Service and Windows Services inherit resources defined at the boot.

Bar code not printed properly

Hi,
I am facing a strange problem. I have to print one bar code in a form window but what happens is that in a specific window the bar code is not printed. If i try to print the same field as a bar code in another window the bar code is printed.
I try the same paragraph formats before i wrote this message and the result is the same, in that window i can not print the bar code.
There are some optiosn that made impossible the bar code print in a specific windows

Hi,
Create the barcode and include the barcode in the paragraph format in smartstyle.Include this smartstyle in the smartforms
after that create the text node for the barcode in your mainwindow and below this text node create one more text node and drag and drop the required fields.

You create a bar code or change a bar code in the font maintenance transaction (transaction SE73). To do this, proceed as follows:
○ Start transaction SE73, and choose System Bar Codes ® Change.
○ If you create a bar code, the system asks whether you want to use the new bar code technology or traditional system bar codes. Choose New.
You can enter a name and a description for the bar code. Note that the name must begin with a Zto avoid conflict between your bar codes and the standard bar codes.
2. If you have created a new bar code, you must now add this to a Smart Style as a character format. For information about this, see the section Maintenance of Styles with the Style Builder and its subsections in the Smart Forms documentation.
If you have only changed the bar code, continue with the next step.
3. You can now select text in Smart Forms and choose the corresponding style with the bar code as the character format for this text.
4. You can then print the bar code.

Unable to see bar code in generated PDF

Hi!
I'm using the Oracle BI Publisher Template for Word 11.1.15.0. I have created a template, and one of the fields on which is to be a bar code.
I've read that BI Publisher comes with three bar code fonts pre-installed, so I have installed all of those fonts in windows. In Microsoft Word, all these fonts are available and display correct.
The 'xdo example.cfg' file contains the following entry.
 
 <truetype path="C:\Windows\Fonts\3of9.ttf" />
 The '3 of 9' font is displayed in the C:\Windows\Fonts\ folder as having the name 'BC 3of9 Regular', so I saw it fitting to add the following entry to my xdo.cfg file.
 
 <truetype path="C:\Windows\Fonts\B39R00_0.TTF" />
 That field rendered correctly in the template builder, but when I viewed the PDF, the bar code was not generated, it displayed the value I was passing text form.
This font appears as "BC 3of9" in the font drop down in Microsoft word, so I thought I had entered the font family mistakenly, and thus also added the following entry to the xdo.cfg file.
 
 <truetype path="C:\Windows\Fonts\B39R00_0.TTF" />
 I've tried another few changes unsuccessfully, so I guess I'm missing out something!

I'm using the BI Publisher add on for Microsoft word. I'm using RTF documents to generate templates to use for PDF generation. The add on has a PDF preview feature which doesn't display the barcode, and the barcode is also not generated while using the XSLT to generate the PDF.

Printing scannable Bar Codes on PDF file?

I am working a PO report (standard) and designing using RTF template to print as PDF output.
I need to print the item as bar code that needs to be scanned. I downloaded a free font 39 and registered in Admin tab of XML Publisher responsibility. I also installed the font in my local machine and added it in my template.
When I run the report and view the output, the bar code appears on PDF. When I try to scan the bar code, its not scanning the bar code.
What is the step that I am missing? Please help ASAP.

As a first step make sure you're using the correct start/stop characters for your barcode.
In this case for Code 39 you would need an asterisk * at the start and end of the barcode, make sure to apply the barcode to the asterisk as well.

Edit: If you got the free font from a vendor check the terms of use on it. Some vendors will give you a font that will show you how it should look but it will not be scanable.

Can't see bar codes on PDF files

I Received tickets to print in a PDF file but bar code did not show on ticket when opened . is there a fix for this?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Bar codes (Smartforms vs. Sapscript)

Hello,
I need to print sapscript bar code on every kind of printers, is it possible in sapscript? I found out solution only for certain printer. I know I can do this in smartform, but there is completed sapscript form and customer requests upgrade this sapscript form with bar code. Sapscript migration to smartform is too expensive (print program has 4 000 lines of code).
Why smartform can print bar code on every printer and sapscript not? Does smartform convert print code to picture or what? Does anybody know how to convert bar code into picture in sapscript?

Sapsctipt can not convert bar code to pdf. The implementation of bar codes in sapscript seems to cause too much difficulty to SAP developpers and they tend to put their efforts into smart forms.
