  • How can i get the footer bar to stay, whilst page scrolls?

    how can i get the footer bar to stay, whilst page scrolls?
    at the moment, on my site, if the page is longer than the screen, it goes behind the footer,
    but the foot bar moves up the page as yo scroll down to see the rest of the content.
    any way of getting the footer to stay put, while body/page contant scrolls ?
    thanks

    You can use some css to do it...
    #footer_id {
         position:fixed;
         bottom:0px;
    <div id="footer_id">Your footer content</div>
    The css above will lock your footer to the bottome of the browser window. As long as your footer <div> is last in your html, it will float over the top of everything on your page when the page is scrolled. If it's not last in the html, you'll need to add a z-index to get it on top of your other content in the stack.

  • After applying full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, Text editor ribbon actions cause page to automatically scroll down (while applying formatting)

    After applying full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, I have provided content to
    the page more than 100 lines and try to format the text from ribbon actions(format text area). On mouse over of font or fore color, the control jumps to the highlighted content area and not able to select the color. The page scrolls down and not able to click
    on any action.
    Consider this scenario also.
    A content editor web part is added toward the bottom of the page.
    Text is added to this (direct in the web part, not via a 'content link')
    You highlight some text and go to the Markup Style dropdown...
    Everything is fine until you hover over the "Paragraph" markup style, and suddenly the page scrolls to the web part you are editing, and you didn't have a chance
    to click and apply the "Paragraph" formatting
    I have tried testing this with text typed directly into the Content Editor, text pasted in from somewhere else, and text pasted in from somewhere else using "Paste as
    Plaintext" option in the ribbon.  In each scenario, I get the same results.
    Furthermore, I have also tested this in both IE8 and IE9 and get the same results.
    I can get it to occur most regularly with trying to apply the Paragraph "Markup Style" but
    I've also seen this happen with Font Size (any font size).  It's very frustrating since you aren't able to actually apply the formatting you need because the page jumps before you can click.  Has anyone experienced this before. Any feedback would
    help.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that after applying full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, Text editor ribbon actions cause page to automatically scroll down (while applying formatting).
    I try to apply full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, the ribbon is missing after I scroll down to the web part. And I cannot apply the "Paragraph" markup style to the content.
    I recommend to use the SharePoint core styles to preserve the native functionality and GUI.
    By design in SharePoint, the ribbon is always at the top. When you select the content, you can apply the "Paragraph" markup style in the ribbon.
    Thanks,

  • I want to print an entire URL in the footer of a print page. How can I do this?

    I want the complete URL of a webpage to be printed in the footer section of the printout. When I have the URL printed in the far left footer section it gets cutoff by the center footer section which is cut off by the far right footer section.

    Firefox cuts off the URL in your printout, if it's really long, and you also have on the same line (header or footer), the Date and Pages
    What I have summarized below is based on this page . . . http://www.watchingthenet.com/how-to-change-or-customize-firefox-printing-defaults.html
    I have two questions:
    To fix, do a custom setting, for the Header and Footer as follows:
    Print / Page Setup / Margins & Header/Footer / "Customize" the "Left" as follows (leave Center and Right all blank)
    &T
    &U . . . . . . . &D . . . . . . . &PT
    &D shows the Short date as: M/d/yyyy - and then the time
    To change the format of the Short date in Win 8.1, go to:
    Control Panel / Date and Time / Date and Time tab / Change date and time / Change calendar settings /
    Date / Short date . . . change from M/d/yyyy . . . to . . . MM/dd/yy
    QUESTIONS:
    1.) How do you get rid of the time, which appears after the date? In IE, you use a lowercase "d" - but that doesn't work here.
    2.) Is there a way to change the font just for the Header and Footer, to something like Microsoft Sans Serif 10?
    Firefox leaves no room around the text in the Header and Footer at the edge. To fix:
    Address Bar / about:config
    Enter keyword "edge"
    Then change all four values for the printer you're using to:
    print.printer_Foxit_PhantomPDF_Printer.print_edge_bottom . . . 5
    print.printer_Foxit_PhantomPDF_Printer.print_edge_left . . . 10
    print.printer_Foxit_PhantomPDF_Printer.print_edge_right . . . 10
    print.printer_Foxit_PhantomPDF_Printer.print_edge_top . . . 5

  • Website help: Creating a side bar then the main part of the webpage??

    Hi guys, im currently making a website in dreamweaver but ive coe into some problems and theyve got me stumped...
    basically, i have been using dreamweaver and ive managed to create a side bar for my website with separate div tages etc and now i want to create the main body of the page, eg the menu and the images but i cant get it do do what i want it to do...
    when i insert the div tag for the main body part of my page it is placed above the side bar when i want it to the side of it, inline with it.... /: its fustrting cust ive been able to style all of the side bar and ive wanted to complete the rest of the site but currently im unable to...

    OK, here is how you need to look at your page:
    The outermost defined area is the body. Generally, to set up a website, you create basic "applies to all" stuff in the body definitions in your style sheet:
    For example:
    body {
              font-family: "Lucida Sans Unicode", "Lucida Grande", sans-serif;
              color: #000;
              background-color: #FFFFFF;
              margin: 20px 0;
              padding: 0px;
    That's going to create normal paragraph text in the website as Lucidia Sans (or Lucidia Grande if the client doesn't have that defaulting to sans-serif if that is not available), text color is black, background is white, top margin is 20 pixels, clear left and right margins and clear all padding.
    Now, you need to enclose the "website" into something that encases everything and I usually call that an outer wrapper.
    .outer-Wrapper {
              width: 80%;
              max-width: 1260px;/* a max-width may be desirable to keep this layout from getting too wide on a large monitor. This keeps line length more readable. IE6 does not respect this declaration. */
              min-width: 780px;/* a min-width may be desirable to keep this layout from getting too narrow. This keeps line length more readable in the side columns. IE6 does not respect this declaration. */
              background: #FFF;
              margin: 0 auto; /* the auto value on the sides, coupled with the width, centers the layout. It is not needed if you set the .container's width to 100%. */
    Explanations in comments.
    Now, you set up the rest of your page:
    .header {
    #nav {
              margin-left: 20%;
    /* ~~ These are the columns for the layout. ~~
    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the right instead of the left, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all right instead of all left) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.
    .sidebar {
              float: left;
              width: 20%;
              background-color: #cccccc;
              padding-bottom: 10px;
              color: #FFF;
    .content {
              padding: 10px 0;
              width: 80%;
              float: left;
              color: #000;
    Lastly, you want your footer to be below both columns, so you define that:
    .footer {
              padding: 10px 0;
              position: relative;/* this gives IE6 hasLayout to properly clear */
              clear: both; /* this clear property forces the .container to understand where the columns end and contain them */
              background-color: #eeeeee; /*This makes it gray so that it is separated from the rest of the page, but isn't too dark for black text */
    Now, let's go to the html:
    Define your page. Dreamweaver will allow you to define a page as XHTML 1.0 transitional or strict or XHTML 1.1, HTML 4.01 transitional or strict or HTML5. Older versions of Dreamweaver have no HTML5 and may have older versons of HTML, but I either use XHTML 1.0 transitional or HTML5. There are good reasons for this.
    Dreamweaver will set up the site definitions depending on what you choose above the <head> area.
    Within the <head> area, you define the character set, give a title (make it unique for each page in your website) and point to your style sheet. You can use Dreamweaver's "Attach stylesheet." Any calls to JavaScript go here as well. If you have a separate style sheet for a drop-down menu structure or any other navigation, it will go there as well. Remember to close the <head> tag.
    Now, we define the body and go into the page:
    <body>
    <div class="outer-Wrapper">
    <div  ="header"> Header Goes Here</div>
    <div id="nav">Navigation placed here</div>
    <div class="sidebar">Your sidebar will go here</div>
    <div class="content">Your main content goes here and it will live to the right of your sidebar on the left</div>
    <div class="footer">I generally put the copyright information here and sometimes additional navigation in the footer</div>
    <div> <!-- Ends the outer-Wrapper -->
    </body>
    </html>
    This will absolutely work.

  • Vertical scroll bar for the table

    Hi,
    I have a table which will contain more than 100 rows. First Visible rows will be 10.
    i want a vertical scroll bar for the table, so that i can see all the rows using vertical scroll bar. While scrolling down, the header row, which contain names of the column should be static (ie visible even scroll down) and the footer of the table should be visible even goes up.
    If I use Scroll container, it will take whole table and the header row, row with name of column will move up invisible when i scroll down. So it is not useful if i use scroll contatiner.
    I need a fnctionality were table has a vertical scroll bar to it.
    Thanks
    Maha

    Hi,
    Your requirement is one of the default properties of the Table UI element in NWDS CE version.

    Thanks For your Help

    Hi,
    think you could solve your problem with the "Sticky-Footer"-technique, look here for Nancy O's example:

  • HT1750 What about TWO different numbers in MacOs (about this mac window) and on the bottom of the foot of the iMac ???

    What about TWO different serial numbers in macOs (about this mac window) and on the foot of the mac. This mac was not purchased as a refurbished nor has been sent for servicing on any time since purchasing...
    The one in MacOs is answering : "This is not a valid Apple Product serial number" when i try to check the iMac 1TB Seagate Hard Drive Replacement Program...

    You will need to check with Apple - might be a good idea to take it to a Genius Bar so they can see it for themselves (and the diagnosis is free).

  • How can I remove the eleven external links at the foot of the opening screen?

    There are elevn external links at the foot of the startup screen. Some of these are to gaming or gambling sites and some are 'advertisments' for madasafish, my ISP. How can I get rid of these?

    You can disable some browser.taskbar.*enable prefs on the about:config page.
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
    *Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
    *Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
    *Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

  • Why is there space under the copyright bar on the contact page?

    why is there space under the copyright bar on the contact page? all the other pages in the site fit flush at the bottom except on the contact and coaching page. does anyone know why? thanks
    http://worldmarketdesign.com/strategic/contact.html

    What I'm saying is that the footer will always follow the content above it.  On short pages, footer may not align with bottom of browser viewport because the page content above isn't long enough to fill the screen.  Since everyone uses different display sizes, this is perfectly normal behavior and shouldn't be a major concern.

  • Cant use sal the foot toolbar though ive downloaded it about 20 times

    i cant use my sale the foot tool bar every time you make these stupid upgrades, i also cant use my heist collector./...im really getting pissed off

    Extensions that are list listed as not being compatible with a new version of Firefox are automatically disabled. Extensions that are hosted at the Addons.Mozilla.Org website would have been automatically updated, if they are compatible with the new version of Firefox; where as extensions not hosted there may need to be updated manually by the user.

  • When I drag and drop an icon from the address bar to the desktop is does creat the shortcut but will not display the website icon, only the firefox icon, how can I display website icons?

    When I drag and drop a website icon from the Forefox address bar to the desk top, the short cut is created but the icon that appears is the firefox Icon. I want to disply the icon from the website that the short cut refers to. I have checked all I can think of in my computer to no avail.

    You have to assign the favicon yourself to the desktop shortcut (right-click the shortcut: Properties) after you have dragged the link to the desktop.
    You can usually find the favicon in Tools >Page Info > Media and save the icon there.
    Otherwise use the main domain of the website and add favicon.ico (e.g. mozilla.com/favicon.ico ) to display the favicon in a tab and save that image to a folder.

  • How can I create a status bar at the bottom of a window ?

    I would like to create a status bar at the bottom of my main window similiar to "Internet explorer" has. I thought of using a tool bar but I can't see how to keep it positioned at the bottom of the window when the window is resizable. Any other ideas on how to do this the bar only needs to contain a small amout of text and maybe an icon or two.

    CVI doesn't have a status bar control on UI element like the one available in Visual Studio++. The best way to replicate this is most like through a string control that is resized and positioned to remain at the bottom of the window and colored to look appropriately. I have also seen the combination of a decoration and a text message used.
