Barcode scan on WPF agentry client

Hello to all,
I use a barcode scan field type on window screen for WPF agentry client. When I try on our tablet device, user input is not enable but the barcode scan does not work fine. It seems that the field does not recognize the scanning.
In particular we need a input field that receives in input only a scanning and no user input from keyboard.
What kind of agentry field can I use ?
Can I use barcode scan type on WPF agentry client ? There are some restrictions ?

Hi,
you may want to have a look at the new OpenScan API. To my knowledge the WPF Client does not support barcode scanners, NFC scanners etc. out of the box.

Default Barcode Scan field in Agentry SMP 3.0 WindowsCE Client

Hi Experts,
We are currently implementing Inventory Manager 4.0 and have a need to default the cursor to the Barcode Scan field when navigating from a menu screen to a transaction screen. However, a blank screen displays with just a Cancel and OK button instead of just showing the transaction screen with the cursor defaulted to Barcode Scan field. Is there a way to skip this blank screen if we default the focus to a Barcode Scan field and just display the transaction screen with the cursor defaulted to the Barcode Scan field?
Second issue we are having is that the Barcode Scan field does not trigger the scanner automatically. User still needs to manually turn on the wedge scanner, which is the software provided by Motorola, to enable the scanner. From my understanding, using a Barcode Scan field will supposedly enable the scanner of the WindowsCE devices.

1) It sounds like you have Full Pop-up screens enabled. Go to a non Transaction Screen and click on the Agentry Symbol and select No-poput
2) The Agentry clients have 2 cursors. 1 for the user to see, and a second one for the barcode. This way if a screen has barcode scanning field the user will just the button and scan the field and the data will go in, and then the barcode cursor will move to the next barcode field.
In your client folder do you have the AgentryScanner.dll file? This is the Dll file the client uses to call the scanner. One way to know if it working or not, on the barcode scanning fields you will see a little barcode button.

Adding GIS Control to the WPF Agentry Client

Hi,
I am trying to set up the WPF Client with the new Work Manager 6.1 for SAP.
In the "SAP Work Manager 6.1 SDK Installation" guide, chapter 2.4, it says
Copy the contents of GIS SDK for WPF from the Mobile Apps SDK bundle into the folder where the Agentry Client is installed (where the AgentryClient.exe is located).
I did find something for iOS and Android in the "Mobile_Apps_Open_UI_SDK_1_0", but I cannot find anything for the WPF client. Any idea where to find that "GIS SDK for WPF"? Thanks in advance.

The GIS SDK for WPF should be as a part of the WM6.1 downloads from the SWDC. The specific ZIP file is highlighted below -
I got stuck on -
"Step 4. Copy the Esri DLLs to the folder where the Agentry Client is in stalled"
There are many DDLs in the ESRI SDK located in multiple sub folders so I wasn't sure which DLL(s) it was refering to.

SAP WM 6.1 : Barcode Scanning Time&Date stamp capture

Hi Experts,
Our client have new requirement: we enable the Barcode scanning functionality for Functional Location in Notification screen, when user scan the functional location we need capture the time & date stamp also. I am able to capture the functional location but not able to capture the date&time stamp of barcode scanning.
can any body guide me how to capture the date&time stamp during scanning.

Chigari,
How you accomplish this will depend on where exactly you are scanning.
If you are on a transaction screen you can simply add an additional property to the transaction to store the current date and time.
If you are scanning to a list screen then you can look at adding / updating the single match action and no match actions to add in a transaction to store the timestamp.

Agentry Client on Windows Surface

Hi Experts,
We wanted to run the Service Manager App in Windows Surface Pro 3. I have installed the WPF Client in the surface but I am not able to run it.
I used the same client that was used in the laptop ( using Windows 7 ).
I could not find any Service Manager App in Windows Store as well..
How we can run Agentry Client in Windows Surface Pro 3.
Please suggest..

I tried downloading the Mobile Service Manager 4.2 from Service Market Place and installed in the Surface. Still am facing the same challenge? Client does not open up the interface...

Unable to capture screenshot of Agentry Client v 7.0.1.207

Once you have logged a user in the Agentry Client application, it is no more possible to capture screenshots of the Agentry client application.
I got an error "Unable to capture screenshot. USB storage may be in use"
However you can take screenshots of other application (Gmail for example) or you can take screenshot of the Agentry client logging page.
This is occurring with Agentry client v 7.0.1.207. It was working before with v6.0.14
Is there a possibility to remove this security feature?

With the Encrypted DB checked, it is not possible to take screenshots. There is an option in the newest versions of Agentry 6.0 (would need to wait until it is rolled up to SMP) that next to the Encrypted DB option, you can check an option to enable screen share again. I know this was put into around 6.0.42 or 6.0.44. Don't know if or when it will get to SMP.

Trouble sync between Agentry Client (SAP IM 4.0) and SMP 3.0

Hi,
I have deployed and configured the SAP Inventory Manager 4.0 mobile app on SMP 3.0 and connected to backed (SAP) which was prepared with the corresponded add-ons and all that stuff. But something happened, I have two PDTs (Motorola MC9100), when I was configure the first one, I have installed the agentry client with unencrypted mode and started the syncronization... at some point the sync process logs: This client does not support an encrypted application and the syncronization stops. As there was nothing I can do with this unencrypted client, I uninstalled this client from that device, erase all the data and install the client again but as an encrypted client. When I started the sync, was so problematic (and still is) to download all the configurations and definition even after several attemps of sync that device with the server, each time the client throws an error Communication failed (14) and sometimes it throws Communication failed - Server error (3). At the end, I configured the other device which has no problem with the client because I install the encrypted client from the start and the sync runs perfect (so the configuration and communication between SMP and Backend is OK), but with the first PDT, I think something is inconsistent because I can't make the full initial transmit yet...and I don't know how to fix it if for some reason the sync stops as my case and then that device can't sync again .. I don't know if I can reset the client or something to make it work... I thought uninstalling the client will help me but no it isn't.

The error normally happened when receiving a replacement of definition for the application.... the weird thing is with the other device the initial transmit works OK. One question about copying the Agentry Client Folder from the working to non-working device: If I copy this folder, Is this client tied up with the same user I executed the transmit on the "good" device?
Why on SMP if I use the same user on different devices... I only see one application connection? How can I get a different application connection for each device no matter the user I log on the application client?

Identifying goods movements which have been barcode scanned

Hi,
We are developing the use of ITS for barcode scanning in the warehouse, using Symbol 9090 HHDs.
The transactions used are MIGO-like:- MB01, MB11.
Goods are issued to PM orders, goods are receipted.
How can we identify and report in SAP which movements have been performed using the handheld device, and which have been performed using manual input directly in the SAP gui?

I think mb51 is the apt report...filter by movement type 101 (G.R.N) and from the list filter the materials and vendor...a bit lengthy process but will work.

Agentry Client 6.1.3 installation with preconfigure SMP server name et TCP Port

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to deploy an Agentry Client (version 6.1.3.xxx) on multiple devices without having to manually specify the SMP server name and TCP port.
When the user get's it, I just want him to only enter his credential to start the first synch/config process.
Anyway do easily do that?

Hi Bill,
Here's what I did in more detail so you can pin point what I do wrong (hopefully :-)).
First I extracted the branding files of the Agentry_6.1.3.10212_ClientWin32.exe.
Agentry_6.1.3.10212_ClientWin32.exe /Branding=D:\Temp\Agentry.
This is the directory and file structure I got out of it.
The 2 directories are created as you mentionned.
If I browse to the AgentryClient_Win32 directory I see thoses files:

The Include and Plugins directories are as follow :
I still can't find the AgentryClient.exe.config file???

Agentry client default server list

Hi Experts,
How to maintain a list of default servers on the Windows Agentry client and ATE for SMP 3.0 Agentry application?
We need to key-in server details every time we reset the client and connect to other servers.

This was a list of server that the Agentry Server broadcasted to the Subnet. But with SMP 3.0 This is no longer valid screen as it wouldn't transmit the FQDN or the SubURL.
I would recommend building a client with the server information already and then give this client to your users.

SMP 3.0 Agentry Client Communication Error

Hi,
We have installed SMP 3.0 server and SAP WM 6.1 in cloud server. The server certificate is generated with FQDN. Within the cloud server we are able to access the WM 6.1 app in ATE by using https://FQDN:8081/SAPWM
For accessing the app from internet we have public DNS which maps to the host. The url: https://publicdns:8081/SAPWM" is accessible in the browser we get the " I am here" message. We have put the certificate in Trusted root.
But in the Agentry client when provide the server "url: https://publicdns:8081/SAPWM" we are getting communication error.
Error Log
Requesting Public Key from Server
Connect to server 'ABCD', certificate is for 'xyz.com', so it is not valid
Communications error (14)
Connection failed
Ending transmission
From the error message we understand that the URL host and the certificate host are not matching so this is causing the error.
Please let us know how we can resolve this issue.

Zak,
You will need to regenerate the certificate for the SMP 3.0 server in the cloud to use the public dns name instead of the FQDN.

Barcodes Scanning

Has anyone done any implementation of a scanning a barcodes into their application? I am wondering if anyone has any information on it.Ideally what I would like to do is pass the number read from the scanner to Oracle forms and then go and search for a record based upon the number scanned in.
I would appreciate the knowledge.
