Barcode value changes in CSV file

Hi Experts,
I'm loading a Flat File data in the Cube and this file contains a field which holds 15 digit number like 876567847677987.
While I try to save it in CSV the value is getting changed as 87+66787 and the data is not getting loaded and flashing an error message as the field contains Hex. value
The number is a Barcode.
I tried changing the value of as text, number, special and custom. nothing works.
please help.

did you try restarting the services of ur server .. because the changes to the file will be applied only if you restart the server.

I have created a item 'MessageFileupload' where the user will upload the csv file containing the employee number and a Button 'Display Jobs' which will display the corresponding jobs on the page.

How to dynamically and selectively update DSO based on values in a csv file

Hi,
I'm loading a csv file into a DSO. When loading the flat file in FULL mode I need to do a pseudo delete of records that were previously loaded but are not in the new flat file.
Is it possible to dynamically determine the unique set of records (say Pk1, Pk2, Pk3) in the csv file and then set all the corresponding DSO records' quantities to 0 - maybe in a start routine?? After that, I can load the csv file with the correct quantities (effectively update and inserts). The net result should be that the change log only be updated through to the next DSO.
Example: Load 10 records yesterday. Today reload 9 records. 10th records must have quantity set to 0. Other 9 records will have quantity values set to those in today's csv file - some will be the same & some will be different. The net change log of all 10 records must be loaded into the next DSO.
Any suggestions on how to do this logic?

You can create one transformation from the DataStore to itself. In the "Technical" rules group, set 0RECORDMODE = 'X' (before image) or 'R' (reverse). Therefore, when you execute its corresponding DTP, all existing records shouldl be set to zero.
Then, as a second step, you can execute the DTP which is related to the transformation between the DataStore and the DataSource, thus loading the new records.

Is there a way to name the .indd files created by a data merge with values in the CSV file

I have a data merge document that is set to single Record per Document page and 1 page per document. In my CSV file I have a field for Part Number. If I run a data merge with 10 records I end up with 10 .indd files. I need a way so that the resulting .indd files are named the same value that is in the Part Number field.

So there are several ways to get unique name PDFs from an indesign Data Merge. However, none of these 3 articles will truly answer your question of how to get unique indesign filenames using the database. I can see a practical purpose for this as merging business cards directly to PDFs is great, but I can be guaranteed that while on proof, there will be alts to the business cards that need to be done outside the merge, meaning specific records need to be exported to indesign files for further manipulation.

How to asssign output value in the CSV file for the specific header

The problem I am facing is that, to Write the Output value captured from the application, When i am trying to use the methods "Appen String to File" i am unable to write / assign the out put value below the specific header. How to capture the data within the given range of maximum and minimum values ? from csv files

My requirement,
1. Here, the user will provide the range like maximum and minimum values, based on this range, the VI should capture the data within the given range. ( from CSV file as attached )
2. Then VI should calcluate the average value for captured data and export it to excel.
This is my requirement can anyone help me on this.

Here I am attaching the VI, what I tried.
From attached CSV file, I have to find an average value for columns B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and AJ, AK. ( data range will be defined by user ), focused only on these columns
Here, the scope is to calculate an average value for given data range by user as MAX and MIN data.
FYI: I tried manually for two instance i.e column H & I. As per H column one steady state values from 7500 to 10500 and similarly in I column 7875 to 10050. So, I gave these as a limit to capture and calculate the average value. But unfortunaltely, requirement has been modified as per below requirements.
More Info on requirement:
--> The user will define the range of data by giving some MAXIMUM and MINIMUM values(for above mentioned columns induvidually), then VI should capture that data range and it has to caculate the average value for that range of data. This is the task I have to complete.
--> I am stuck in creating a logic for data capturing for given range of MAX and MIN value from user,
Can anyone help me on this.

Message Mapping, First and last values in a CSV file

I'm having problems with a Message Mapping that requires me to take the values from the first line in a CSV and the last line to calculate other values...
The source message type in my mapping is as follow

I need to take the first row/occurence of Records and use this to calculate the Startime. I also need to take the last occurence of Records to calculate the stop time

In this case I need to take the values 1     1 for the StartTime and 2    1 for the StopTime.
How can this be done?

Do u have problem with mapping or content conversion. According to my understanding the problem is with content coversion. U can't take the first and last values in CSV file. Probably u can import all the values and during mapping u can seggregate the required structure alone.

Dulicacy of field values in the CSV file

We are configuring a file to idoc scenario in which the file is a .csv txt file.
The format of the csv file is
NMI,BillNo,BillAmount,ContractAcc
There are instances where there is a duplicacy in the NMI & hence that needs to be filtered before sending it to PI.Any idea about how to filter this either at the source end or PI end.
Please throw some light in this.

Hi Sabyasachi,
Manually you will need to open the file put it into excel remove duplicate entries , again move that back again into text file. This method is a very dumb way of doing things.
A smarter way would be to write a module. The link given below is not a tailor made solution to your query but sufficient to get you started.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to update SharePoint field value from a CSV file recursively.
We can import CSV file using the Import-CSV –path command, then update the field value in the foreach loop.

Decimal value in CSV file

Hello everyone,
it is my first post here.
I'm trying to import a CSV file into Numbers, but the result is not quite what I was looking for. First of all, to get Numbers to open the file I had to drag and drop it into Numbers, I didn't find any other way to do it. I was looking for an "import" button that would let me give some kind of instructions on how to open the file, but did not find this button.
In the CSV file, every numbers is separated by a comma, wich is normal, but the decimal portion of a value is also indicated by a comma and when imported it ends up in it's own column. So 4,5 might be 2 columns, the first one with the value 4 and the second one with the value 5, but 4,5 could also be the value 4,5. How do we tell Numbers how it should interpret the different values in a CSV file. Is it possible to say that column 4 is in fact the decimal part of value in column 3?

The support of CSV files was described here many times.
If the decimal separator in use on the system is the period, Numbers requires the original CSV format : Comma Separated Values.
If the decimal separator in use on the system is the comma, Numbers requires the alternate CSV format : Semi-colon Separated Values.
Given what you wrote, you are trying to import datas from a file using the original CSV format and the decimal comma.
I know that some experts wrote Python filters to treat such case but I have no reference available at this time.
If you send a sample file to my mailbox, I will try to write an AppleScript deciphering it.
But as I often wrote, CSV is really the worst format ever invented. Why aren't you asking the document's author to use Tab Separated Values format ?

Csvde update user info with csv file

I see many ways how to do this online but I don't understand how to write the entire script myself from what's being showed online, being it from a video or from another forum - due to everyone else s' methods involves different scenarios.
I would like know what does my excel/csv file need to look like if I'm updating only each AD object inside an OU with the following:
TELEPHONE NUMBER, FAX NUMBER, MOBILE NUMBER, TITLE - the other entries are already there, such as web address, email address, display name.
And then what am I going to add in the command line: CSVDE -i -f mailboxdetails.csv ect?

If you have a Windows 2008 R2 AD in place , you can achive this goal by using a .csv file and a script with couple of lines in PowerShell .
First create the csv file which must contains the following header and its value (any other if you want) :
SamAccountName,Title,FaxNumber,MobilNumber,TelephoneNumber
then use the below script :
Import-Module activeDirectory
$allusers =Import-Csv c:\users.csv
foreach($user in $allusers)
Set-aduser -identity $user.samaccountname -Title $user.title -mobilePhone $user.mobileNumber -Fax $user.faxNumber -add @{TelephoneNumber=$user.telephonenumber }
Note : just change the .csv file name and it's path .

Large numeric field in a .csv file will not display

A .csv file contains a numeric field which in some rows contains an 11-digit number (like 14024583126). These will not display (blank or null). Some of the rows contain numbers of 5-digits or 7-digits and these display fine. How can I get the 11-digit numbers to display correctly?
I have no capability to change the .csv file to make this field type as string. Would there be a way to convert the numeric field to string?

Thank you for the formula. However, the string field displays just like the numeric field did. If the numeric value in the row is a 5-digit or 7-digit number it converts to text and displays fine. But if the numeric value in the field is an 11-digit number nothing is displayed after conversion to text. The numeric field must have some limit on what the size can be. How can we get around that limitation?
FYI - the data I'm trying to process is a dump of monthly Call Detail Records from Cisco's Unified Communications Manager. The 11-digit number is a Long Distance Number like 14021234567 (ex., 1-402-123-4567). The 5-digit numbers are VoIP extension numbers while the 7-digit numbers are local calling numbers.

Unable to output data to a csv file

i need to out put some values to a csv file (the one that is mapped to it in the databank). i have used the function
rswapp.setdatabankvalue "name", value
where name is the variable name that is mapped to the field that should be updated by the script and value contain a string value that i want to export...
somehow this code is not working properly.... :(

Hi Priyanshu,
The function setDatabankValue will not write to the .csv file, but it will override the current databank. This would be useful if you had a function in VBA that you would like to use to replace a Databanked parameter. In order to output to the csv you will need to use file i/o functions.
From online help the code below is the basic syntax where "newline" is what is going to be placed in test.txt
newline would be replaced by the new variable that you want to output. Also, be sure that you reference EmpirixUtilities in your VBA. Hope this helps.
