Basic code help

Question

Hi,
How would you go about when you have this problem? the getVal being in a static method can not access other non static method. Whats the best way to go about?

That's what I thought too, but from the output context it seems this is what he wants:

        for(int i=0;i<=a.length;i++){
            if (a==key){
if(a[i]%2 == 0){
return -1;
}else{
return i;
