Hi, ok..let me explain again. I have seen this comparison. I also viewed the SAP Starter Package Solution brief that had this comparison on page 2. I realize it shows that no Basic Cost Accounting is available. Based on this, I asked a question here on the forum.
I would like to know what does this mean? What does the NO Basic Cost Accounting not include? Is it NO Profit Centres, NO Projects or what.
I think the question is really straight forward and simple.

Starter Pack now includes 60 day Eval product key for SLES

Q1: What is the Starter Pack?
The Novell Open Workgroup Suite - Small Business Edition Starter Pack is a product that provides a Customer with a no-cost, one-time, 5-user license for Novell Open Workgroup Suite - Small Business Edition. This is not a trial or evaluation license but a full product license.
Q2: Am I required to purchase Maintenance with the Starter Pack?
No!
Q3: Are all the NOWS SBE components and add-on products included with the Starter Pack?
No. Maintenance is required to obtain some of the component products and product updates. At one point there was a list of the additional products that were available to customers who purchased maintenance but I am unable to locate it, perhaps because NOWS SBE licenses can now only be purchased with maintenance.
Q4: What is the issue regarding product keys for SLES?
When NOWS SBE is installed, customers are required to enter product keys for each of these three products: NOWS SBE, OES, and SLES.
Product keys are normally included with most products when the product is delivered however SLES product keys work a little bit differently. A SLES product key allows access to patches and updates and is provided when a customer purchases maintenance. Novell will provide a temporary 60-day "Eval" product key when a customer downloads an Eval copy of SLES. This subtle distinction goes unnoticed when NOWS SBE is delivered because NOWS SBE licenses can only be purchased with maintenance.
Novell now delivers the Starter Pack with a 60-day Eval product key for SLES to allow customers to complete the NOWS SBE installation without having to purchase maintenance.
Q5: What do I do if I need licenses for more than 5 users?
Simply purchase as many additional groups of 5-user NOWS SBE licenses as you need. For example, if you had ten users, you could purchase the Starter Pack plus one additional 5-user NOWS SBE license.
Note: Since NOWS SBE 5-user licenses can only be purchased with maintenance and customers with maintenance must purchase maintenance for all licenses, you would be required (in this case) to purchase maintenance for the 5-user license obtained with the Starter Pack.
Q6: How do I get the Starter Pack? <customer>
Your Novell Reseller can provide additional information and order it for you. Some conditions apply.

Cisco VCS Starter Pack Express

Hi,
I would like to ask if "dual network interface" option key is needed for a Movi Client to register to VCS Starter Pack Express via public or internet?
Details:
VCS Starter Pack Express is installed as part of DMZ.
Able to ping and access VCS via public or internet.
Movi Client was able to register via internal network.
Movi Client was not able to register via public or internet. Same account used in internal network.

The initial question was, can I run Movi with just the VCS Starter Pack Express with out an TMS.
Any yes, you can.
Yes, Movi requires provisioning to run. In general its:
* TMS + VCS + Licenses
In this model the License management for Movi is indeed handled by TMS
btw, you also need a "Device Provisioning Key" on the VCS, not only movi Licenses on the TMS
* VCS Starter Pack Express
Which gives you up to 50 registrations, limited findme and 5 (default) up to 25 (additional purchase) call licenses.

Cost accounting document is posted automatically by system when basic configs have been completed:
1. when the controlling area is defined and the company code has been assigned to that particular controlling area.
2. The number range for the CO activities have been defined.
3. The valid cost objects have been assigned to the transactions (either derivation or manual assignment).
Once the above is in place, automatically CO documents get created and to display the document T.code KSB5 is used.

Cost account issues in P6

Hello,
I am new to this forum. I have been using P6 for several year and am self taught so there I may not use all the correct terminology, so sorry in advance. We use P6 project managemnt system and time-sheets along with Cost Point as our accounting system. I have been asked by management to modify a cost account name while keening the original cost account ID the same. P6 shows the change but the time sheet module dose not pick up the new name. Is there a special action that I need to perform to get the coat account ID and name to show on time-sheets?

My feeling is that perhaps you don't have any task that is late.
If not, please try following filter:
Start is less than or equals to DD
Activity staus not started yet

Updating error when updating creative zen stone with Creative ZEN Stone Starter Pack 1.10

Im trying to update my zen stone(which im so glad i bought)with the update software app(new starter pack) that was released oct 22 07 ut am getting string errors.First i tried using the update software in media lite and i get string errors.
i quote : string id 2225 not found plus string id 2208 not found.
I tried installing a couple of time with no apps open and i get the same error. I also tried dloading the app from creative support site myself and when i try install it i get the same error.
The q Is there a problem with the new update or is it my pc.
I am using XP professional:52 Ram.
My current software version is .06.0.
The file im trying to update is ZENStone_PCApp_CLE_ L6_0_08(4.64 MB)
Id appreciate anyones feedback on this as id like to keep my player uptodate when it comes to critical updates like this.

Try going into "Control Panel->Administrati've tools" and clicking on "Computer Management". Find "disk management" in the left pane and click it. Your Stone should be in the right somewhere. I think you need to right click, then "choose dri've letter and paths" and give it a dri've letter with the "add" button. Let us know if that works.

Live cam sync detected by Win XP but not detect by "Live! Cam Sync (VF0520) Starter Pack"

When I connect cam to my USB port It is detected by the system and working properly when running from My computer(USB Image Device #2). But when I am installing the software "Creative Live! Cam Sync (VF0520) Starter Pack 2.00.18" then it says "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system".
When I connect the cam first time to the system It create instance (USB Image Device) in my computer and works fine and software was also installed to the system.Then I ran my software it shows parental control image and did not detect any image then I plug-out cam from the usb port and then plug-into different usb port the new instance(USB image Device #2) after this software not detect the camera. I uninstall the software then I trying to reinstall again but It not detect the camera and shows error "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system" while my cam is attached to the usb port.

buddy, sorry but i have bad news for u .... i had the same problem .... i contacted the customer support and they kept tossing me around between tham asking me to do this and that and the other thing and none of them worked .... ok .... i had to exchange the cam from where i bought it .... the replacement workd for two days .... and then broke off again the same way the first one did .... its cheaply manufactured cam is what it is all about .... i contacted them again .... anyway the last email they sent me saying that they had escalated the problem for more investigation and i did not hear anything from them till now .... and by the way it doesnt matter what operating system u r using .... i used on windows 7 and xp sp3

How to configure Free of charge posting to cost account and not to balance?

If we post GI for a free of charge delivery (sample) the following will be posted:
Cost of Sales 100
Finished goods 100
But we do not want to post to Cost of Sales but to a cost account.
What do I need to change?

Follow below mentioned procedure;
1. OMJJ - Copy a new movement type as "901" from Movement type "601". For new movement type change the Valuation Modifier to "YAX" instead of "VAX" and SAVE.
2. OBYC - Here go to T/E key "GBB" and do the account determination for the new valuation modifier "YAX" of new movement type (Created in Step1).
3. VOV6 - Go to the Schedule Line Category (which is getting determined in Free of Charge Order) and assign the new Movement Type "901" instead of "601" and save.
Note: - If this Schedule Line Category is used for multiple Sales Orders then copy and create a new Schedule Line Category and do the changes for this one as suggeste din step3 and also do the schedule line category determination.
Now create a new order and do delivery and PGI and check A/c entry, also check during delivery it should pick up new Movement Type.
You need to take help of ur SD Consultant in this case.

Cost Accounting in SAP B1

Does someone has a good documentatión about de Cost Accounting functionality in SAP Business One?
SAP documentation is very poor to configure the tool, we have tried to créate a hierarchy of cost centers but whe we post we don´t see the postings reflected in the hierarchy.
Help will be highly appreciated, our customer has high expectations on cost centers!!!!

Financials --> Cost accounting
Step 1
Dimentions
Define as "Department" in Dimentions
Step 2
Profit Centers
Define Profit centers for
A1, A2, B, C.....
select the dimention as " Department"
Step 3
Distribution Rule
Define the distribution rule for the expenses say Electricity expenses for A1 --%, A2 %, A3% like wise define the apportionate the percentages.
Now you can able to select the distribution rule in your JV entry.
Pl. try and I hope you can design the template for report in "Cost center Hierarchy" window and you can set the formula also.
Select this template in the Profitcenter report and hope you will get the report as you want.

1.If a NAS configured to have a primary and a backup RADIUS server. To start with all the “Accounting-Start” records will be in the primary RADIUS server. Later on the primary server goes down (Primary server won’t tell the NAS?). When sessions stop, the NAS sends the “Accounting-Stop” to the secondary. I understand the “Start-Stop” record with the same “user name” and “session-id” ideally should be recorded in the same server. If this situation happens what should both the NAS and RADIUS server do?

Later on the administrator decided to change the primary server (as there are problems with the previous primary). sessions stop, the NAS sends the “Accounting-Stop” to the new primary. Can any one advice me the difference between the Costing account and the balancing account in the element link window
I like to know which account i should define if the salary element has to hit the GL when we run the costing and the Tranfer to GL process

Thanks the information was really helpful
We are facing the following issue
The cash account and the cash clearing account defined in the Payroll Payment method is not being hit
however the balancing account is credited and the costing account is debited correctly
following are the process that are run
We ran the payroll run
Prepayment run
Costing
Costing of Payment
Transfer to GL
But the cash management is totally not touched
Please advice are we missing any setups

Asset Cost not transferred from Asset Clearing to Asset Cost Account

Hi,
There has been a manual Asset-123 added for which the asset cost has not been transferred from the Asset Clearing to Asset Cost Account.
While, the other additions done for other entities have been transferred successfully.
Im trying to figure what could be the issue..

Framed IP Attribute missing in Accounting-Start messages from the ISG for the TAL Users. Account-Logon users and Interim updates have the Framed-IP though.

Migrating SBS Starter Pack to new hardware

I have searched the entire forum and knowledgebase for an answer to this
and haven't found one. I have a very small business client (2 users)
that is currently using SBS 6.5 Starter Pack. I have convinced them to
upgrade to better hardware from a clone tower. My question is can I
migrate the starter pack server without affecting the activation that is
already in place? Or will I have to reactivate after the move? If
reactivation is necessary, can that even still be done since the starter
pack has been discontinued?

This is NOT a Microsoft Server so you should be
able to just take the Hard disk out of the old box and put in the new box
(done this zillions of times!)
BUT, to play it safe...
Put in a 2nd hard disk and make a dos partition
format with /s and xcopy the dos partition
Load NSSMU and Mirror the sys and data and any other
When complete - You have a COPY to put into the new server !
