Basic difference between transaction code MMPV , MMRV, & MMPI.

hi,
what is the basic difference between transaction code MMPV , MMRV, & MMPI.
i am using MMPV for new period opening and closing at begning of each month.
Now, I have a problem, our company want to close december'2010 (period -09) for quartrly closing of books. how can i do that. there may be scenario that in later date i need to open period -09 for some stock adjustment. I spoke to one of MM consultant and he advice me not to use transaction MMRV in normal scenario, because it may cause inconsistencies in system and it will show difference in diff. reports. is it true?
CAN ANY ONE LET ME KNOW THE WHAT STANDARD SAP SUGGEST IN THIS REGARD. WHETHER IT IS RECOMENDED TO CLOSE PERIOD 09?
THANKS,
RANJAN

Hi,
Initialize Period - MMPI RMMMINIT
Close Period MMPV RMMMPERI
MMPV is an activity where you have to close the prevoius period and you tell the system to allow posting in the current period. In MM we can work with two periods that presnt period ( month) and previous month .For example we have to open the JAN then for the given company we can close the DEC.In this way we can post our postiong in JAN month.
If allow back posting tick is allowed then you can work with JAN and DEC.
Period here is the fiscal year so if you are not comfortable with the Fisacl period then do use the current date for closing period .for example
you want to clos DEC then put today date ( 01.12.2010) instead of giving the periods as different country has different fiscal periods.
Initialize Period - MMPI RMMMINIT
This is to insitailse the period for the company codes.this is not a regular activity. When you system is activted then you have m aintain Company Codes for Materials Management
To create a material master record, the control record must exist for the company code for which you want to create your master record.
To initialize company codes during productive operation, you have to use the period closing program.
There is also one more trancation MMRV to allow the posting to previous period for a company code

  • Difference between transaction CMOD and SMOD in detail

What is the difference difference between transaction CMOD and SMOD in detail
    in R3 system.

    Hi Vinod,
Transaction CMOD n SMOD are 2 parts of the enhancement.  Using SMOD you can search for enhancement and there component. Components includes Function Exit, Function Codes, Program,Calling Screen...so basically all exits.
Using SMOD, if you know the enhancement you can check the available User Exits. For eg. you can find out user exits and corresponding zincludes.
If you know the Exit Name for Eg. Function module exit name you can search the correponding Enhacement name here..which is important for activating exits.
CMOD allows you to create Project for your enhacement. In order to activate every exit code you need to create a project for same and activate it...Eventhough if you write a code and do not create a project for same your exit code will not reflect.
It is mandatory to create and project for exit and activate it.
Hope this will give you good idea about CMOD and SMOD.

    Hello,
Could you please let me know difference between transaction LT11 and VL06C ? Whether LT11 can be scheduled in background job in place of VL06C.

    Hi..
You are absolutely correct. If u want to set up a background job for TO confirmation u can do it in t-code VL06C...
Apart from that in LT11 you can confirm for a sinle TO only..but in VL06C you have wide options to select the confirmation TOs of deliveries based on Fwd agent..WH nos..picikn/packing staus..etc., Click on All secections(+) option in VL06C to get more selection parameters..

  • Any basic differences between AT&T and Verizon, & other questions

I am thinking of buying an iPad mini with retina display (32gb). This would most likely be the only iPad I would ever own. I would use it mostly at the house with wifi, but would like to have one with cellular for when we travel in the US and Canada, and for when the electricity goes out. We currently live in a location where both AT&T and Verizon are viable options, but sometime in the next year we hope to move. The state is rural and mountainous, so as we drive around, my spouse's iPhone (with an AT&T plan) often loses service, but so does my Jitterbug phone, which is not tied to any one carrier (as far as I know). A phone can get a signal in one locaton, but then lose it a few feet down the road. So, there is no way I can choose between AT&T or Verizon based on coverage because both are options right now and there is no way to predict which one(s), if any, might provide service to wherever we end up moving to. Therefore, I'm wondering if there are any basic differences between AT&T and Verizon (or any other of the possible carriers) in what they offer or how they work or what they charge and so on that can help me decide which one to choose since it is my understanding that once I pick one of them for an iPad, that decision can never be changed without purchasing a new device. (e.g., I had read somewhere that Verizon does not allow for voice and data at the same time, but since an iPad is not a phone, is that even an issue?) Also, will the iPad work if there is only regular 4G or 3G service? And will a cellular iPad work without signing up for a data plan since I expect to start with only wifi and then add a data plan later? Thank you.

Alfred DeRose, Thank you for answering the second and third questions. Judging by what you wrote, I am assuming there are no differences between what AT&T and Verizon offer that affects iPads, other than looking at coverage area and the cost of "pay as you go" plans. And, as noted, coverage is not something I can base a decision on at this time. So, I either flip a coin to choose between AT&T and Verizon and hope the result is the right one after we move to wherever we end up finding a place to live, or I continue to wait for another year or more until we actually find a new house before I buy an iPad (or maybe a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9"to save money, but I think I've probably settled on an iPad mini retina 7.9" despite its smaller screen). That does not move me along the decision-making process at all, but it is what it is.
Greatcall has not answered my question about what carrier(s) the Jitterbug Plus phone uses. If, in fact, it uses just the Verizon network, I will try to pay better attention to any possible differences in service areas between that phone and my spouse's iPhone as we travel around the state to see if that helps at all. But coverage is so location specific here that I don't think it will.

  • Basic differences between G2 and G3

hey, is there a breakdown anywhere of the basic differences between G2 and G3?
i've tried looking but everything i've read seems to single out the podcast features of g3 which to be honest, don't really do much for me, since i would be using it mostly for music.
Are there substantial differences aside from the podcast features that would justify the upgrade? and if so, any idea where i can read about them?
    thanks in advance.
    G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

there also some more differences as compare to gb2 is the ability to do music composition for your edited imovies and one more thing if you change your track to sound efxs you can drag audio files into your onscreen keyboard or your musical typing on your assign key to do music composition which gb2 dont provide last time.

  • Basic difference between the type specified in constarint of datstore

    Hi,
Can you please explain the basic difference between
    Oracle Data Integrator contdition and
    DBMS constraints
which we find during the "type" declaration of constraint in datastores
    regards,
    Palash

    Hi Palash
The DBMS Constraint is got by reverse or, if you create one, can be handle by ODI ddl generation.
The User Constraint is most to Data Quality, an example can be a Foreign Key between distinct technologies to be validated at CKM.
    Does it help you?

  • Difference between Coupon Codes And non-Coupon Codes

    Hi everybody.,
i want to know the difference between Coupon Codes And Non-Coupon Codes in ATG..

I dont think we have anything called non-coupon codes.
We have promotions codes or coupon codes associated to a single promotion. If you apply couponcode, then the promotion associated to the user gets applied to it if dates and other properties related to coupon are valid.

  • Difference between transactions VK11 & VK31

    Hi Experts,
What is difference between transactions VK11 & VK31. Both transactions are used for creating condition records?
Why we have two methods for creating condition records?
    thanks

VK11 is maintenance of conditions records by old method.
VK31 is maintenance of condition records provided from SAP release 4.6A. This has a new maintenance interface.
The new interface allows mass maintenance of conditions which is based on characteristics namely materials, customers etc. You will be able to display and maintain the material prices as well as the discounts for a customer in one work step.

  • Difference between transaction currency and document currency.

    Hi All,
Would like to know the difference between transaction currency and document currency. If we want to draw both the figures from the GL account, which table can i use?
    Thanks,
    Mercy

    Hey,
Having transaction currency and document curreny in one document would be strange.
Document currency is something you would see in a FI document, whereas transaction currency is part of a CO document.
In finance documents you would talk about document currenty and local currency for instance.
In CO documents, the currency field you can find are transaction currency, object currency en controlling area currency.
In most cases the document currency in FI would be considered the transaction currency in CO.  The local currency in FI would be the object currency in CO.
    Hope this helps,
    Koen

  • Difference between Transaction database and relational database

Whats the Difference between Transaction database and relational database ??

'Transaction' refers to the usage of a database.  'Relational' refers to the way in which a given database stores data.
A 'transaction database' (or operational database) could be relational, hierarchical, et al.  A transaction database supports business process flows and is typically an online, real-time system.  The way in which that data is stored is typically
based on the application(s).  Companies often have multiple 'transaction databases'.
An 'operational data store' (ODS) is an integrated view or compilation of transaction data.
The you get into data warehouse databases, where the transaction data is optimized for querying, reporting, and analysis activities.

    hi,
like -> used for refering existing data elements in data dictionary or in sap
type -> used for refering existing data types in sap.
types: used for creating used defined structure of tables which has fields from more tahn one table.
diff b/w types and type in creation of internal tables is that when u create a table with types then u can use same for work area creation also.
    ex:
    TYPES : BEGIN OF t_vbap,
    vbeln1 LIKE vbeln,
    posnr LIKE posnr,
    kwmeng LIKE kwmeng,
    netpr LIKE netpr,
    netwr LIKE netwr,
    werks LIKE werks,
    matnr LIKE matnr,
    arktx LIKE arktx,
    END OF t_vbap.
    data: itab1 type t_vbap
            wa_itab1 type t_vbap.
when type is used then u have to create a defintion of work area for another time when internal table doesnt have headr line as
    ex:
    DATA : BEGIN OF t_vbap OCCURS 0,
    vbeln1 LIKE vbap-vbeln,
    posnr LIKE vbap-posnr,
    kwmeng LIKE vbap-kwmeng,
    netpr LIKE vbap-netpr,
    netwr LIKE vbap-netwr,
    werks LIKE vbap-werks,
    matnr LIKE vbap-matnr,
    arktx LIKE vbap-arktx,
    END OF t_vbap.
    DATA : BEGIN OF wa_vbap,
    vbeln1 LIKE vbap-vbeln,
    posnr LIKE vbap-posnr,
    kwmeng LIKE vbap-kwmeng,
    netpr LIKE vbap-netpr,
    netwr LIKE vbap-netwr,
    werks LIKE vbap-werks,
    matnr LIKE vbap-matnr,
    arktx LIKE vbap-arktx,
    END OF wa_vbap.
    if helpful reward soem points.

  • Basic difference between WAS and Netweaver

I justwant to a know a basic fundamental question. What is the basic difference between web application server and Netweaver. I am always geting confused in these two terms. Can anybody please explain?

    Hi,
    NetWeaver is:
An application and integration platform that unifies people, information and business processes
New technical foundation for all future SAP applications
    A replacement for BASIS framework
A platform that is based on Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA); SAP hopes to release future product offerings in compliance with ESA
    NetWeaver is NOT:
    A product or a language
    A replacement for SAP R/3!
    A marketing strategy
The SAP Web Application Server is the technical platform for SAP NetWeaver, providing the complete infrastructure to develop, deploy and run all SAP NetWeaver components, the mySAP Business Suite, customer- developed applications and 3rd-party J2EE 1.3 compliant applications.
SAP Web AS fully supports both the proven ABAP technology and the open source internet-driven technologies—Java and Java 2 Enterprise Edition, also called J2EE.

  • Difference between transactions RZ10 and RZ11

Can you please tell me the difference between transactions RZ10 and RZ11

    Hello Eechaneri,
RZ10 is for profile as well as profile parameter  maintainance while RZ11 is for profile parameter display/change.
In RZ11 however you can change only those profile parameters which are dynamic i.e dont need a restart for change. For the ones where restart is needed the value needs to be added/changed in RZ10.
